Sal's Famous Donairs

Its a joke of a restaraunt, always closed when i try to order from skip the dishes, cant their times right and they dont do delvery, lame

Every time we come here it’s amazing. The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious and filling

Been here twice, donair poutine first time was delicious and a donair meal second time and I couldn't even finish it. So much food for the price and amazing. Next to try is the calozones. They look amazing

Food deserve a 5 stars but the rest only 3.
-Slow preparation: It took over 20 minutes to get 1 Calzone order.
-There was only 1 more person waiting and no one else and still not fast service
-The girl at the counter had an attitude when speaking, not friendly and her English was poor.
-Other smaller places would bother to bring you the food at your table, this one, the girl spoke really low and upset because I didn't hear at first

So be prepare to ignore the service but enjoy a great food

My first time at Sal's, and definitely not the last! We had the Meat Lovers Calzone, the East Coast Calzone, and fries and gravy. All delicious, and the calzones are massive!

Up dating May 3rd my birthday highly disapointed at the service I have received today orderd the ribs got dry with the sauce on theside. They used to mix it in. Very disappointed. Orderd a cheese burger was luke warm at best and looked like a it was put through a hack saw. Will be coming in tomorrow to speak with manager about this Love the food been coming since we moved in to the area. Was however shocked that they now charge $1 for extra mushrooms and cucumber. I've never been charge before. They did give me a 10% discount this time. Also no where on the menu does it say extra vegetables are a added cost. Depending on who's on shift makes the difference. I've had I belive the manager or possibly the owner treat me great. Giving me discounts or free gravy at time. This person is the best but my rating is based on this experience. Oh and to top everything off I had to remind them to get my milkshake.so got home to eat the doniars for some reason are super spicy almost to the point I hardly could eat it. My husband can barely handle the spice and is eating mostly the lack of veggies in the donair. As seen in the picture hardly any lettuce and very little of any other veggies. Sure having lots of meat is nice but not when it's way to spicy. Very disappointed usually this place is great but not tonight. Would be nice if these reviews are acknowledged. My rating based on the service tonight has gone down to 1 star. Dependinguponhow my concernsare met i may increasemy rating.

First time coming to Sal's. Saw some excellent reviews from people on Facebook. We ordered 3 different calzones and they were delicious! Friendly staff and great customer service! We will be back.

One of my favorite places to eat in the city. And I am a picky eater. I've been eating here for more than a year and never had a single issue. It's top notch, best calzones in the city everything else is on point aswell. I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't.

I was not prepared. That calzone was delicious and now I have the other half for supper. Will be coming back!

The food here is very good and the customer service is amazing you won’t be disappointed here at all. Good atmosphere forsure

Sal’s is our “I don’t know what I want for dinner” always go to place. So many amazing options and a huge portion for a great price. My girlfriend and I love this place.

This place has ascended a simple donair/burger/calzone place. It is the peak of humanity and food. I ordered a Greek donair and got served a meal for 2. I was expecting a small lunch meal and got a religious experience. The woman was helpful in helping me choose my donair and she said everything on the menu was good. I believe her. I believe in her. She is female Jesus. God bless.

I had such a lovely experience today at Sal's with my 3 year old son. The woman working there was very warm and welcoming. She served us fries while we waited for our pizza. She was very welcoming to all the skip drivers that also walked in. The food was beautiful presented and delicious of course. This restaurant always feels like home when I visit️

We order through skip the dishes. The banana milkshake is great! Nice and thick shake with great flavour. The mushroom burger would be much better with half the salt. Love the corn fritters and the calzones. The calzones are easily enough for two. You tend to forget how filling milkshakes are so we could have done without the burger and just split the fritters and calzone.

The calzones are good. Depending on who makes em. They can come full of flavor and perfectly made. Or so much sauce that you could drown a baby elephant.

Just tried salls tonight for the first time shared my calzone with my wife it was absolutely amazing dough wasnt too thick loads of toppings

I am visiting Edmonton for work and Sal's was suggested without any warning or heads up. Got a Donair Calzone. This was without a doubt one the most disgustingly beautiful things I ever put in my mouth. Absolute piece of art. I will never be the same after this. The quality of bread and ingredients is 5 star. Be warned.portions are western Canada big.therefore Toronto massive. I could only fit half in one sitting. Make this a mandatory stop if you are in town. Thanks Sal.

Ordered the Kitchen Sink pizza. Was excellent. The wings however, were disgusting. No flats, dry, and no sauce whatsoever.

Food was overpriced 60 dollars for 2 buger combos and 2 orders of dry ribs.salty salty SALTY! I would give it more stars but the cook has to tone down the salt and the dressing on the burgers. Note the bun was soggy not crisp and crunchy, pretty sure the bun was salted too. The athabasca location is much much better.
Will I return? Probably not to this location.

My husband and I love this place, they have delicious food, calzones, pizza, donairs, are amazing, but my favorite is the burgers. Their burgers are the best I have ever eaten, and I am a burger lover. You need to check this place out!

Worst donair ever. Not sure if the two guys working tonight were just high af or if they don’t care what customers order. When you go in and order and they disregard your order and make up what they want you to have then perhaps you should hire new employees. One guy sat and played on his cell phone the whole time and even put the cell phone on the counter where they prepare food to play on it. Ordered two donairs and a burger. Boyfriends stuff turned out but my donair which was a donair with lettuce, tomatoes, green pepper and sweet sauce ended up being very difficult to make so instead I got a donair with lettuce, tomatoes, onions (which I can’t eat) and tzatziki sauce. Instead all I could eat was the meat out of it and even then I’ve had better donair meat. Don’t order here unless your ok with going hungry. Your best bet is to go to Swiss Donair as they listen to their customers and make what they ask them for.
Will not be back, thanks for wasting my time and money. If I could give no stars I would.

This place has amazing food for a good price with big portion sizes. Their milkshakes and calzones are phenomenal! Not to mention their staff is incredibly friendly and create a very welcoming environment.

This place was really bad! What a disappointing order! Paid $17 for a donair combo with a small donair that barely had any meat or veggies. It was drenched in sauce. Ordered a donair with pineapple and I'm pretty sure there was none. The fries were small, soggy, under cooked and over salted. The poutine was the same way but the gravy had chunky bits to pull out and a lot! Barely any cheese or gravy. Just sad to see places serve this to paying customers.

Customer service is good, upgrade my meals in a combo, bacon donaire was good.but the fries is terrible, only re-heated works with same industry so i know if it is fresh or not.call them to let them know about the fries but they insist they are fresh from the bag.maybe the bag of fries is defrost!

Had the Donair calzone, pretty good A little messy. Restaurant was pretty clean service was fast and somewhat friendly. The only problem I had is when the employee put there hand in the parmesan and sprinkled it on top of the calzone. Didn't see him really wash his hands.

Man the donairs from here are to die for! I love the tropical one. Perfect amount of pineapple. Has a great sweet/bitter complex to it. Very filling.
Street bread is great too. I could sadly probably name half the menu haha.

If I could give zero I would.we will never order from this place again.we ordered a 115 dollar order from there. 1 it took over an hour to get it. 2 and just before the driver showed up we got a call saying the driver took the wrong order to turn him around when he gets here to pick up the right one. At 707 we turned the drive back at 740 we called backed and asked how it was going.they told us the guy who called originally called the wrong number and the driver the showed did.have our order and.bow he is no were to be found and they can't do anything for us.this is the worst service I have ever received.

The place is great. Everyone has different experiences but you want a good place for lunch and dinner these guys can provide. And skip, skip the dishes, the food will be cold and its not gonna taste the way its supposed to taste. Most definitely worth the stop.

Absolutely horrifying myself and a friend ordered skip the dishes, a philly donair and a dozen dry ribs, full on food sickeness from eating it violent puking hours later.hey thanks alot Sals donair appreciate the ruined weekend. Perfect

Amazing food and service.all the employees ive seen have always been very family friendly, its actually one of my fave places to bring my whole family (2 year old included)

Waited 10mins today, didnt even take my order so I walked out. Horrible Service. Primetime Donair is better all around. Sounds like Customer Service is a huge issue in previous reviews.
