I lost my big boy after 13 years, broke my heart to put down my kody, these people are the best. The nicest people I have ever met. They let us cry, they let us hold him while he went to sleep. They sent us a card with his paw print and a lock of hair.
Made me cry so hard but so thankful for all there help and compassion. Thank you so much for making kody last minutes with us so peaceful.

I was worried about my french bulldog's oral health and the possibility of more serious complications in the mouth or systemic disease of the body. I researched anaesthesia specific to brachycephalic breeds, which are at higher risk when they go under. After peppering Dr. Thusari with detailed questions during our meeting, I felt confident with her knowledge, abilities, and bedside manner. She was patient and provided good communication throughout the process. I have personally would not consider going elsewhere for the next cleaning/extraction, and have since recommended her to other dog owners.

Stellar … they were kind, they understand the bond owners sometimes have with their furry little ones. They are cautious and courteous. Pricing is far more reasonable than 8 other vets for the exact same line items … moved my little’s care here …

Thank you Dr Thurasi for the sincere compassion you have always shown my ferrets. I first saw you more than a decade ago at McKnight and you cried with me when we had to put my ferret down. Your eyes were just as filled with compassion when we let our foster ferret Felix go tonight.

Thank you

I came here one day on a whim as my dog needed stitches from a dog bite during an interaction. They got me in fast, and the doctors also allowed me to stay during the procedure for reassurance. Ever since then, I have been coming back here with my old dog with cancer. The husband and wife duo doctors (and owners) are just so wonderful and kind. They remember us every time, and are so loving with my dogs.

Bonus: They are also an exotic vet too! Knowing how difficult it is to see an exotic vet in Calgary, I am so extremely glad they are just minutes away from me. I have 2 bunnies and rabbits by nature are super time sensitive when it comes to issues. I am sure if ever needed, I will be bringing them in.
They also offer the RHD2 vaccines at a decent price!

Price point: Not overpriced and not cheap. I would say the price pays for the attention, care, and kindness they provide for the animals and for the interest of humans!

The staff here is very pleasant and helpful. They truly love animals. The vet explains things and is extremely patient. Definitely worth the drive.

You won’t find a more caring vet than Dr T. The care and kindness my elderly cat receives makes it worthwhile to drive across the city to her clinic. Rachael is so knowledgeable in pet care and I trust this clinic with my pet care.

Dr. Thusari and her team are amazing. Kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. I have recommended them to a few people.

We were able to get our bunny in promptly for a spaying. And the Sanctuary team was reachable and helpful for after care. Thank you

The vet team here are all so kind and caring. My dog happily goes in and has no issues with the vets. He had his Dental done there recently and they were so wonderful. If we didn't live so far away we would likely make them our regular vet.

My cat Oliver came in for a dental that turned out to also include a biopsy which turned out to be a tumour in his jaw. His kidneys had a hard time dealing with the anesthesia so the doctor stayed with him all night. They kept him at the hospital for 4 days, and treated him as if he was their own cat. Thanks to Sanctuary Vet I was able to spend another year with my boy not in pain and loving life. I will always be so thankful to the whole staff for taking such good care of my boy.

The team at Sanctuary are absolutely incredible and have been amazing to deal with my animals. We have been there for both general care and for surgeries and each time it is clear how much they care for each anima as an individual. I appreciate Dr. Thusari and her team so much for always taking care of my crew and will continue to drive over from the south side of the City. Thank you all so much!

Moved from the NW of Calgary to Airdrie, tried to find a vet here in Airdrie. Not a good experience with that search. I'll be taking my senior pups back into Calgary each time they need to go in.

Staff here are amazing. Pricing is fair and reasonable.
The vet did an amazing job with the surgery on Akila's eye.
Don't know why I tried to find a similar vet in Airdrie.

Sanctuary is by far the best experience I've had with vets so far.

After frantically calling around to 14 different vets, and being met with the disheartening news that we couldn't get my 6 year old daughter's rabbit (who had stopped eating and drinking) in anywhere due to no availability or them just not dealing with "exotic" pets, we called here (luck number 15), they gladly made time to fit our sweet little girl in and quickly figured out what her issue was and sent us on our way. Not only was the service reasonably priced, they also answered any and all questions we had with no reluctance, listened to our concerns, treated our sweet lil bun bun very nicely, put my nervous daughter's mind at ease, and also explained things in ways that we would understand. I left here feeling so much better about the future of our sweet little Nibble Butt. THANK YOU!

5 stars is not enough of a rating for what I would give this vet clinic. They are truly a sanctuary for anyone who really seeks veterinarian care that is professional, extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and genuine. Have been in so many different clinics for our pup and none treated him the way Sage hill Vet Sanctuary did. Owners and staff keep you at ease with their kind unassuming manner. Every time we took our Raymond to have a check up with Dr. Thursari and Dr. Lalith they were always thorough and diligent. They also are in my opinion humble and conscientious towards their pet patients and family. Dr. Thursari takes his time to explain to you any issues that your loved pets may be experiencing.
I also would say something very special about this clinic is that raymond (who was very skittish at the vet) has only ever been calm at this clinic. The atmosphere led by the doctors provides a feeling of serenity and our pup is always at ease here. Even the friendly cat Holly, is so loving and greets patients and their families and is a very unique mascot of this wonderful clinic.
Again, perfect name for this clinic in that they work hard to be a sanctuary and a blessing to those they serve. We are so grateful we found this clinic at the perfect time in our pups journey and that they are trusted professional who will work with you and your family to provide amazing care.

We went to Sanctuary Vet for the first time to get a trim for our cat. They had absolutely no idea how to cut a cats hair at all. It was extremely uneven and was not done properly at all. I pointed out that it was uneven and the lady agreed with me and told me that to cut my cats hair they would need to “sedate” him. In the past four years we have never had to sedate our cat to get his hair cut because he never scratches or gets violent. Sanctuary vet was just unprofessional and did not know how to deal with pets in a proper manner.

Sanctuary vet was so incredible when we had a weekend emergency with our dog. It was near closing time but they stayed open to perform the emergency surgery. Everything was completed as quoted at a very reasonable cost.
We are incredibly grateful for the care you provided for Bentley. Thank you!

Unfortunately, our little 3 month old Frenchie had a fall and was in a lot of pain. Our regular vet was in the middle of a surgery and was unable to see her until later that evening. Our Frenchie was in quite a bit of pain, so we thought we take her to Sanctuary Veterinary Hospital as they were a few minutes away from our regular vet.
I had called ahead and confirmed that they could see her. My husband took her there and got x-rays done, and the vet told us that there were no fractures and all she needed was rest and some pain meds. My husband declined the pain meds and took our Frenchie home.
2 days later we had a scheduled appointment with our Vet and he did a follow-up on our puppy. He requested further x-rays as the x-rays that were taken at Sanctuary Veterinary Hospital were not conclusive. The x-rays were then forwarded to the radiologist and we have now discovered that our puppy has a fracture in her growth plate, specifically in her shoulder and will require immediate surgery – which has been scheduled for tomorrow.
I just called Sanctuary Veterinary Hospital to air my concerns with them and was put on hold for 8 minutes, which I then eventually hung up. I am extremely disappointed in the service I received at Sanctuary Veterinary Hospital. We paid for inconclusive x-rays, only to be told that our Frenchie had a soft tissue injury and then discover a week and a bit later that she actually has a fracture and requires surgery.
I will not be coming back to Sanctuary Veterinary Hospital for any emergencies. So disappointed in the service I received the day we came in for an emergency visit, and the service I received today being put on hold.

Dr. Thusari was so sweet, gentle, and thorough with my guinea pig. It can be hard to find clinics that can see guinea pigs, especially on Sundays, but Sanctuary Veterinary Hospital was able to see us the same day I called! Very thankful for the service!

I highly recommend this clinic. I had an emergency with my skinny pig and they took her in right away. She had a large wound requiring sedation and stitching. The quality of her work was outstanding. She took time out of her busy days to respond to my emails with photos to follow up. It is very easy to tell she has a love for her patients. 10 days. Later my skinny pig has healed with hardly a scar and is happy to have a second chance.

I took my sweet flemish giant baby boy (just freshly 7 months old) in because he was having troubles breathing. However, he was still mobile, and still was eating and drinking and going to the washroom, aside from the night before and the day of me going in. The vet asked a bunch of questions, and told me his breathing could be from him eating the carpet, which I knew wasn't the case, she then took him from me and went back behind and I could hear them struggling (he is a big boy) and I heard him making noises of pain which bunnies don't do unless they are really hurt. Then suddenly she came rushing out holding my limp baby wrapped in a towel. Not thinking clear, I ran to the room and she lay him on the floor. Telling me there is nothing she can do and it looked like a I had minutes for him to live. I was in shock, utter disbelief. My heart shattered and my baby boy lay there and died on the floor in front of me. She then was pressing on his chest with a stethoscope so intently it scared me and she even grabbed his tongue and pulled it out of his mouth and told me he was dead. Then she began to grab a giant mass in his neck and told me it wasn't in fact carpet at all, it was this mass on his trachea and it was unfixable. However, something happened in the back of that vet and because I was so off guard to what was happening, I didn't even get to ask questions. I lay there screaming looking at my baby lifeless. She then was quick to grab the cremation papers and told me to pick an urn. I am literally traumatized, ive been crying since it happened on January 2, he was 7 months old. He was such a good happy boy and he was my 2year old daughters baby. The vet was sweet, but even tho my boy died within seconds of her taking him from me she still charged me and emergency exotic exam on top of my cremation fee (found that a little disheartening), I am left with so many questions, my heart is broken, and I just have to "wait for their call" they can't tell me when roughly, for me to be able to pick my boys ashes up. I'm not bashing the vet, im just so concerned, I need to know what really happened, and I'm so devastated and heartbroken. I never want to go to a vet again. Worst experience of my life.: (I believe they are a wonderful vet clinic, but what I went through was unreal and so so so heartbreaking.

We took our rabbit Bongbong in for a first time checkup a few months ago and the vet answered our first time owner questions and made us feel comfortable with our bunny’s health.

Later on we decided to do a spay with this vet as well and although we had worries in general, the vet was patient in addressing our concerns. Post operation, we were worried about our bunny’s recovery, but following the vets direction we syringe fed, applied medication, and restricted movement. Our Bongbong is now healthy and happy back to her original personality and we are happy with the service we received from this vet.
