I would like to leave a review of our recent stay. Our room smelled and had the handle on the water for the shower falling off. The bathroom was disgusting with mold in the shower. The bed had the most nasty stain on the side of it. Which I didn’t notice until I was rechecking the room making sure we didn’t forget anything. Another team member had a faulty door to the room. After multiple times going to the front desk asking for help they gave 20 room cards and said go figure it out. Not one card worked it was the actual door that was not working. I also saw dirty/used towels left on top of clean sheets/bedding by cleaning staff, so gross. As a team we were also spread all over the hotel. Not a happy customer.

Staff was nice. Pool wasnt working. 4th floor vending machine was broken. Room was nice except the bathroom. Shower/tub needs fixed.
Room was very hot even with air conditioning on.
Clean hotel just needs some up keep

Stayed on Nov 18 and found the hotel exceptionally clean and organized. Courtney at the front desk provided professional service, ensuring a great night's rest despite feeling tired. Thank you, Courtney, for your excellent assistance!

Rooms are in poor repair and attempts to fix them are very shoddy. Wet bar sink fixture is unsecured. Bed is totally sacked out.a trampoline. Toilet paper is the worst/cheapest you can possibly buy at a wholesaler. The heater clicks on and sounds like a jet engine for 1 minute every 30 minutes all night. Suite floor plan (room 416) is terrible. Despite 450sq ft, 2 people trip over each other in the bedroom and bathroom.

150/night.wow.you can get a lovely Holiday Inn suite in Edmonton for 120/night.

Staff are fantastic. Helpful and friendly.

Had a really solid stay here. The woman who helped us (think her name was Julie) went above and beyond to help us on a couple things we needed. Only gripe really was the antiquated tv system without really a menu but that's small peanuts. Thx guys

Went to some near by activities and we needed a plus to escape the heat and crowds. It was not the most luxurious place but had some things on list for kids. There was a pool, hot tub, coffee bar and was close to some dinners which hotel was able to get discounts for just staying with them. We missed the breakfast to go deal order but next time for sure have to try. The kids loved it and the front staff were professional and helpful.

We had no hot water to shower for more than an hour which ultimately ruined my afternoon because we could not go out for lunch as planned. No apology or compensation was offered although a comfortable bed and a warm shower are really what we were paying for.

Ok just got off the phone with Courtney at the Sandman Hotel in Red Deer. We haven’t stayed there yet but she was soooo helpful with booking our rooms after having a horrible experience with expedia. I was so impressed by her customer service and desire to go above and beyond to help. Excited for our stay and, Sandman Hotel management, Courtney is a great employee; give that gal a raise!

We were upgraded to a King Suite from a regular King room. The suite is looking a bit old and tired and the caulking in the shower stall was starting to look unsightly with black dirt (mold?) on the bottom edges. Our shower in the morning was lukewarm and upon checking out at 10: 45 am, there was no one at the front desk so I left the key card behind the counter and left.

We stayed at the sandman for three months while we were transitioning from red deer to Calgary and then to Costa Rica. The entire staff treated us like we were family and always accommodated all of our needs. We can’t thank the staff enough for everything they did for us. I would never want to stay anywhere else ever. We will miss the staff so much. Alanda was the main reason for us coming to the hotel right from the first phone call, she truly is the face of that company and helps everything run so efficiently and smoothly. Courtney, Fouad, Davis and Holly where the most gracious, accommodating and helpful front desk staff. Paul and the rest of the house keeping staff kept that hotel in order and spotless. Nigel the Maintanence man helped with our small projects and added to the overall great experience. I strongly recommend this hotel for all your needs and will miss everyone there dearly. This is a one of a kind hotel and it’s more like a home then just a hotel.

The hotel is obviously old and falling into a state of disrepair. We had to change our room after the first night because the heater didn't work and our keys kept disabling for some reason. The jets in the hot tub barely worked. Wouldn't stay there again.

Ripped off. Quoted $98. When I checked my Visa statement it was $208. No receipt was issued when I checked in. The receipt was dropped off in the middle off the night. Very deliberate dishonesty

We were quite disappointed with our stay at Sandman Red Deer this time. The toilet didn't flush properly, the coffee that was in the room had flavors we didn't like and had to ask for regular coffee. The dining room was extremely noisy and we asked to be moved to the bar section, this was better.

In Today's world, customers hope that a hotel and its staff will do what they can to keep their customers happy. This was not my experience with the front end staff or the manager. I still give them a 3 star overall, they didn't help but also didn't cause a large amount of problems

Evening receptionist Allison at check in asked us to sign a disclaimer that said If any other rooms complain about our pet’s noise and hotel looses revenue we will need to fit the bill. This was not stated in the confirmation so I refused to sign. The management should look into better communication of policy disclaimer.
We booked king bed the Got a queen bed instead.
When we tried to reason with receptionist she called us rude and referred us to hotel manager.
Thankfully the hotel manager Fawad was courteous and didn’t mention anything about disclaimer and moved us to king bed room.
Confirmation said breakfast available but there is only coffee station available. Be aware of this.

There were tacos and crackers left in the cupboard the rest seemed to be clean. The bed had a horrible sag in the middle.

Not the best hotel tbh. I thought Sandman had a good reputation, but this location was not great at all. Little to no AC in the rooms, flicking lights in the bathroom, multi bulb styles and shades in all room fixtures…. Pick one style and shade! Dead bugs IN the light fixtures.

And really? Only one person working the desk when it’s busy is not good customer experience at all.

This hotel needs a lot of work and some upgrades to be done.

Won’t be staying here again.

We call in two hours before we showed up to make sure we can get the key and go to the room. They said not a problem.
Got there and nothing but trouble. Terrible hotel from waiting two hours to get booked into a room just to get moved around from a dirty room to a worse room to stain sheets to the lady telling us they’re clean with hair on the floor and saying it’s clean. Nothing is clean in this hotel or safe. We ended up getting a refund and staying at a different hotel in the next hotel informed us that the staff goes through the rooms and possibly steals from the guests.
Very disappointing for Sandman. DONT STAY HERE.save our money and stay somewhere safe. THIS PLACE NEED TO BE INSPECTED NOW BEFORE ANYONE GETS RIPPED OFF.

We were locked out of our room for about an hour our first night due to card issue. Clerk came up to use key when we had renewed our key cards for third time. Clerk had same issue and key cylinder came completely out. Had to wait for maintenance to be picked up to investigate lock only to be told when he arrived, nothing was wrong he used key card on first try! After that key card worked, not sure that nothing was done though as maintenance had said. 4 different people tried that door with no luck.

The barely functioning Ac combined with a broken bathroom fan made for a muggy and hot stay. Front desk staff did there best providing fans to help. No complaints with them as they can't fix Ac. Apparently most rooms have this problem. Really shouldn't be booking rooms in summer with no AC and not telling people up front.

Worst experience at a hotel ever!
Mid August and AC was just blowing air but not cooling the room at all. Talked to the lady at the front desk and she just brought a small fan, opened the window and installed it so it could blow air from outside and into our room.
Also the bathroom's lights kept on going off and we were told they'd have been having aome issues with the power supply.
Also sink in the bathroom was clogged, and when I went to take a shower I found somebody else's hair in the shower. Disgusting. This for sure will be our last time staying as this hotel.

Reasonable price, Friendly staff and a clean building. But the the Building it self and the all the equipment's are too old. My A/C unit was out of service during my stay. Recommend for a short stay or a emergency stay. But For a long stay, specially with a family definitely look at the other options.

My husband and I stayed her for our anniversary. He originally got a room with a jet tub but they upgraded us. It was on the business floor so was a business suite nothing fancy at all. Desk, loveseat, bed. A little disappointing probably should have stayed with the original room. The door key didn't work at first, the room is dated but not awful. They did how ever go above and beyond by having chocolates, flowers and champagne in the room for us. And a cute Sean and flower petal arrangement on the bed.

I'm just waiting for the "n" to burn out on their Signage to reveal their real name "Sadman" which is how my stay left me feeling. My room had 3 burnt out lights that I asked to have changed out 3 times. 4 days later one bathroom Light bulb was changed out and left by the sink along with a bunch of white powder substance (maybe that was too match the white stains on the couch) the two kitchen lights were still left burnt out. That night I found the coffee pot didn't work either. The next night I decided to go to the hot tub. Surprise! Cold water coming from the jets! Glad I went to the mall and dropped 40 on shorts for that experience. Over all the front desk ladies were awesome and truly wanted a great stay for their guests but the Maintenance man and Maids really need to step up their game.

The staff are very accommodating and good to work with. The maintenance, sales, and general managers were all focused and ready to help. Dean, the maintenance manager at the time even helped me boost my vehicle when it had died. Finally, the sales and general manager helped make my stay make sense. Overall an excellent service, good rooms, and at a good price. Thanks guys

Stayed here for a weekend function and my car battery died. I asked the receptionist if they could help me boost my car and they went above and beyond. The hotel didn't have the booster cable so they asked around. They kept us posted while waiting in our room. Fortunately, one of the employee's friend lives nearby and was able to lend us the cable and boosted the car. I left the hotel feeling grateful for the amazing people I met that weekend. One could easily say NO and that would have been the end of it. Instead they are willing to give a hand and exceeded our expectations. Thank you very much Cory, Lynette, Susan and Allison for your all help. It was a great experience and would definitely come back again.

They did an amazing job. We needed a samll conference room for 6 people short notice.no problem they got it done with one day notice for a great price. The room was great and we got coffee and snacks

The staff were excellent. Couldn't ask for a better manager than Vilma. The rooms were clean and even the pet rooms smelled good. It's a handy location with lots of parking. The beds are standard Sandman beds and can be a bit firm but still comfy. Moxies is attached and very convenient. The gym is very small and some of the equipment doesn't work but there are gyms close by. Parking is ample and convenient.

This place was great. They had everything ready and taken care of for us. Such as having the AC on when we got to our room. The beds were nice and everything was very clean. They had a grab and go breakfast that was good. There was a manager there named Cynthia who was particularly awesome. For some reason our keys stopped working and the lock had to be reset. She got on the phone with someone and came and did it all herself, with a smile on her face. 5 stars for Cynthia.

I arrived around 230am in a emergency to just find a bed because of hospital discharge, i went to the sandman and they easily accommodated me and gave me s upgrade room for the night, thank you for helping me out and giving me a place to stay for the night even when it was so late.

The staff was super pleasant and helpful. I got my room which was an upgrade. There was a bowl of Apple at the front desk encouraging health habit. A fruit a day keeps the doctor away. The apples we're fresh and delicious. The room was clean and smell fresh.
The only challenge I had was not being able to preview the on-demand movies before purchase. Now, I could be wrong as when I clicked the option to preview or purchase there was no option and so I didnt want to click the select option and it was to purchase. However that didnt change the work I had plan to do. I hope to visit again

Thanks Cynthia the young lady who worked July 3 up to 12 midnight. You guys made the trip an excellent one

Staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean. A lot of amenities very close by. Ac in the room didn't work and was very hot, tv didn't work, and our toilet ran all night.

Was booked under a group booking for tournament, needed to cancel 24 hours prior due to Illness, spoke to front desk to cancel then was told that the rooms were cancelled. Didn’t receive confirmation of cancellation. Called back to confirm and the manger said that only one night was cancelled and needed to pay for first night. Told her the situation again and wasn’t willing to help what so ever. Pretty much said that was too bad to sad. Very unhappy with service and lack of communication. Her notes were updated on system but was not delivered to me. Will never book with this hotel again.

The shower.it sprays all over there's no way you can adjust the temperature without scalding yourself or freezing yourself. The bedroom lights flicker like those in a horror movie. The fold out bed had a laceration hazard. The bedside lamp that has Outlets built in must be on in order for devices to charge meaning you will wake up with a dead phone.

Good place to stay the night, excellent staff, everything is cleaned and comfortable. Just 3 star because my brother saw a dead bug on a plate as he was about to get a plate from a cabinet.

Amazing service from the front desk staff. They upgraded our room for no extra charge when they found out it was our anniversary. Clean and quiet. The pool was great, hot tub was clean and relaxing. Will definitely be back.

Quiet, clean rooms. Internet is fast but no HDTV channels. Price for the room is reasonable and the is a Moxie's connected to the hotel. Would stay here again on a future visit to Red Deer.

Rooms and facilities clean and well maintained. Ordered from the on site restaurant (Moxie's) first night dinner. When finished, covered plates left outside in hall by door for housekeeping. Three night stay, plates with four day old food still by our door on check out. For that reason it's a two star review. Free breakfast is unappealing toast, fruit, one choice of muffin. For obvious reasons didn't eat any.
