Sandman Hotel & Suites Calgary South

Don't get room 234 my closet is bigger. Opening the room door almost hits the bed. I think it may have been an office or storage room converted.

The booking desk manager named hoosinder (not sure on spelling) at our south calgary location was amazing. Very accommodating and There was a mistake made but it was rectified and we were very happy with our stay

Melanie and the entire staff were the most amazing people I have ever seen at a hotel. My whole experience at the hotel was nothing but amazing

Harinder was awesome. He really made us feel welcome and took care of us. The rest of the staff was fantastic also. Great facility and location.

Staff are so absolutely amazing! We've been here for a week and they continually outperform themselves over and over again. The rooms are cleaned extremely well and professionally done! So happy staying here

Room was clean, quiet but small. It's very convenient to other stores and restaurants. The staff are nice. I love the balcony view. I recommend this hotel.

Best hotel I've ever stayed at. Service from staff was impeccable, friendly, professional, and made it feel like home while I was staying here for work. The room I stayed in had a full kitchen was cozy, quiet and luxurious. Housekeeping was beyond my expectations I came back to the room spotless and immaculate. Staff and managers povided me great recommendations on places to eat and explore in the city. All within walking distance of walmart, grocery stores, great places to shop and eat, not to mention Dennys is open all day and Moxies had phenomenal service and quality food. I was beyond happy with my experience staying here at the Sandman. Felt so warm and welcomed by the staff and overall atmosphere. I give them a shining review.

I've stayed at most Hotel brands, this is my first stay at a Sandman. Upon entering the front staff was very friendly we had a good conversation as we were getting booked in, he gave his name (I can't remember at the moment) but very great person!
Room was as expected considering price. Clean and safe.

Screaming from the ceiling about how the staff is exceptional, the rooms are clean and functional, and the location is great as my dog is at the vet nearby and they had recommended this location. I have NEVER been so happy as the staff at this hotel made me, they were so compassionate about my situation and needing to check in at an odd time. They worked with me and it was perfect. I have never been at a hotel that worked so hard to please me. Thank you so much for the care and compassion I received to get me in a functional and clean room

Y’all have your sprinklers on seemingly every day, in the middle of the day (worst time to water). You make big puddles on the road, dirtying everyone’s car, and waste water when we’re in a drought.

The pillows were very uncomfortable and the mattress was a little hard for my liking but the hotel itself was lovely. Several choices for restaurants and many amenities within a short walk or drive

Tried to book with front desk of the hotel, she was busy on another call, but assured me ally stated needs could be covered easily. Pushed my call to corporate where it was answered by someone I could barely understand. Long wait while she called the original desk that hadn't had time, came back, again couldn't understand except she was offering me a twin bed. I'm not spending money to not be able to sleep in a child sized bed! Said so, was offered an upgrade to king size for more than $120 dollars more.
When I said forget it I'll find another hotel she was quite cheerful in hanging up on me.
How does anyone stay in business like this?

ZERO customer service quality from their management, but staff were all friendly to customers. Toilet was plugged. Old furnitures. Electric key card didn't work several times. 2 Elevators out of 3 broke down on the 3rd day we stayed. We felt so released while checking out. Never go back.

Got into the room, beds had no sheets. Got to the new room they gave us, it wasn’t a 2 bed like we booked. Finally got to the third room and it’s smaller than the first, but atleast it has sheets. Organizational nightmare!

My dog and my wife travelled to Calgary as pup needed eye surgery and was pretty much blind. I requested a main floor room because I didn't want pup to do stairs and a refrigerator as my wife needed to store pup's insulin. I was provided both amenities. I also received a compassionate rate. My wife was very impressed with the room and restaurants attached. Front desk staff were extremely nice and friendly. My wife states she would definitely stay here again!

Comfortable stay and reasonably priced. Front desk staff were amazing. Melanie checked us in, and went above and beyond. Room was clean and comfortable. On-site restaurant and.lounge was an added bonus. Great shopping nearby.

Best hotel I've stayed at in a long time! Beds are super comfy, staff are extremely friendly and pleasant to deal/talk with. Lots of shopping options within walking distance.

Just having meetings here, location is good but access to the building needs to be improved with a additional entrance/exit from the south parking lot

Desk clerks super friendly and helpful.had a water leak in my room from the bathroom tub to the bedroom carpet, when I reported it I was immediately offered another room that was an upgrade to my existing one.will definitely use this hotel on my next visit to Calgary

Issues with check in and check out. Was told there was issues with my card even though it came out, and then upon check out I was told check in was done incorrectly and they couldn't find my transaction. It's been 4 days and still haven't received my deposit back. Not very impressed, only hotel I've had issues with.

First, the wifi was not working 4 out of 5 nights during my stay and the staff members gave confusing explanations about that. I gave the front desk a call about it on the second night of my stay. I mentioned that I couldn't connect to the WiFi and the staff member just said that he didn't know, and that was it. I called on my fourth night of stay, the other staff member said that the wifi was not working and hoping that they could get a technician to fix it on Monday.

Second, the hotel room looked so dim and old, and it is not that clean. There were quite a few broken pieces of the photo frames and mirror frames. There were some stains in the bathtub and shower head.

Third, the layout of the junior king suite was a bit weird. The cabinet with the microwave and the mini fridge blocked half of the front area of the hotel room so the path to go to bed from the bathroom was quite narrow. It's quite hard for us to push the luggages to the bedroom.

Many of our wedding guests stayed here as well, many of them had great rooms, very clean, which we are grateful for. Our room however, wasn't very clean, there were footprints on the walls.

Shower system could not stop the water from dripping when switching between tub to the shower option

We really enjoyed our stay! Your bed was a-mazing, however, the pillows were just too big for me to sleep well. They stayed form (which is lovely), but I couldn't get comfortable. Aside from that, I was surprised that the room didn't have at least a fridge (we were told at check-in it did), so that was a bummer. Our toilet also ran all the time and for a hotel that supports water conservation, this might need some attention. The pool and hot tub were wonderful and we used them often. What about investing in some free weights for your gym - might be easier to use than the big machine.

I would have giving a 5 also for amenities if there would’ve been a magnifying mirror in the bathroom for applying makeup etc, maybe something to consider going forward as women and men who wear glasses really appreciate that extra touch. Other then that our stay was amazing the suite was awesome. And we look forward to staying again in the future. As it was close enough to almost everything that we need to reach.

Great place to stay the location is perfect it sorrounded by big stores like Ikea, Costco, Walmart, and Superstore, and great reastaurant too.staffs are so welcoming and helpful.

Amazing hotel, definitely recommend if your traveling for work or just fun. Staff are polite, pools small but great lots of fun. Rooms are super clean and beds are super comfortable. Great place will be staying again

Staying for 4 night, Room never been cleaned. They said they shorted of staff and by request only. The front desk never mentioned it to ANYONE during check in. Several times I also observed if the front desk is going to tell guests during Check In about the cleaning, non of them doing that. Next day in the morning I tell the front desk right away to clean the room, 5 hours later I came back to the hotel, the room is still not cleaned. Horrible!
