Bakery staff need some customer service training. Never a pleasant experience going there. The cakes are delicious it’s too bad

Overpriced and understaffed.

Everything is terribly expensive, even by modern inflation standards.

Mid day on a Saturday they also only have two human cashiers, and nobody at all manning the self checkouts.

In usual fashion the self checkout had some inane error despite scanning bog standard pre packaged items, and the checkout locks up, a red light comes on, and the checkout says "please wait for assistance".

Well wait we did. After 7 or 8 minutes of standing there, looking around for any free employee to help (the only two in sight were busy manning the standard checkout lanes) because their equipment is faulty and error prone, we eventually abandoned our groceries and went down the street to Superstore where they have this great new system where they'll actually let you exchange money for goods.

Maybe save on should invest in a similar system?

This place is on the pricey side unless you have the rewards membership, and even then most of the time you can probably find things cheaper at other stores. They do have a good selection of dairy products that some bigger stores don't. The store is usually clean and organized well.

Good selection, though only one staff member at the front to handle the one check out till, all the self check and customer service. Come on, staff shortages be damned, that's just poor planning on store management. The staffer was doing her best, but she was definitely stressed.

The bakery staffs are very careless. I ordered spider-man themed cake for my baby’s birthday, when I went to pick they just wrote happy birthday on plane white cake which is annoying. Their carelessness spoiled my function. This is not one time incident; even last year on same occasion I had similar experience with them. I ordered cake but next day when I went to pick they forgot to make it. This place is full of annoying staff. I really do not recommend this place specially the bakery.

Probably the worst self-checkout system in the whole city. There were lot of pop-ups, some common items were not recognized by the system, staff helped me after making rude comments and telling how it was my mistake that I was using the system wrong way.
Never using the self-check out again.

My wife goes here all the time, 3 to 4 times a week, after work we live nearby and they're nearby.
She finds the staff helpful, I don't, Well it's hit and miss some are some and some are really rude.

Overpriced and you "Save On" nothing. Membership perks that give you fake savings by inflating their prices by 15-20% then reducing it to the competition's everyday regular price.don't fall for it. This place preys on the very young and elderly who don't know any better. Who pays 7.99 for a 12 pack of pop or 5.49 for a bottle of keg salad dressing (they're 2 for 5 buck's at Walmart everyday).
Not coming back and hopefully Save On will price itself out of the market and close it's doors for good for taking advantage of people.

I won’t be back. I went earlier in the afternoon for 15% Tuesday, but was there spent an hour and a half trying to figure out what to buy since everything I was planning on getting was out of stock.

Then finally at the till, an item I chose because of the offers I loaded was not ringing at the advertised price, AND my offer was not applied.
I showed multiple times that it was loaded on my card, I had been logged in prior to check out, and had loaded it already the day before. A couple loaded offers a my account showed up but not that one. There was no resolution and I just left the items and paid for the rest.

It’s not the first time that load my offers hasn’t worked. This trip was just a make a waste of time, and the location had so little stock. So now I need to go grocery shopping again somewhere else, Ill remember not to come back here.

Maybe this location has better days, but Save on Foods doesn’t feel like it used to.

This store used to be pretty good, but the last few times I've been here, something has gone wrong. The turkey sandwich I got from the deli had a long brown hair in it. The chicken salad from the deli had a chunk of chicken bone in it. The produce section had spilled veggies on the floor that had been trampled and just shoved out of the way. The grocery pickers for curbside have forgotten meat items on my list twice, and I've been told that something is "out of stock" just to go back into the store myself three minutes later looking for a replacement, only to find the shelf full of the item I needed.
This store has certainly gone down hill in the last 3 months.

This place is small but I always find everything. Pretty clean and organized. The produce is all the time good.

Ordered online last week and I was sent expired Baby food. It went bad in 2020 and is older than my Baby! He was accidentally fed this food and when I called they told me to just bring it in! No accountability.

Good produce and decent prices. It's a well run store with a good layout. Friendly staff are a big bonus as well. One of my main stores for grocery shopping.

I love Save on Foods, but when I was buying my milk I got ripped off! I asked a lot of staff workers and they said that if I buy a whole box of milk I would get a special price! Instead of paying the special price I had to pay MORE! What a RIP OFF

I wanted to leave a review about the wonderful service I had with my cashier today, Bianca! She was so friendly and welcoming and kind. It really made my day.
The store is clean, beautiful, and has a great selection! 5 stars, would highly recommend, and give that girl a raise!

Joanna doing the evening shift in the cakes section was rude and very unprofessional. Asked her for a price, and she snapped " can't you see what the tag says" Ofcos the price was missing. Horrendous service

Customer service is so so. Was checking out abs cashier left the lane seeing me standing and waiting for her to scan the items.
Went up help other two customers at customer service. Poor priority judgement. Cashier should be serving customers on lanes not at customer service and at flower section wrapping pot flowers yet.

Great supermarket for North America. Reasonable amount of choice for most things and it's pretty easy to get to on foot or by car. Staff have always been helpful.

The produce section deserves zero stars. More times than not I go there and can't get what I need. Today, only three things I needed were Romain lettuce (the four there had already gone bad), green onions (none at all) and a small spinach (their dates go off in 3 days). This happens all the time! I'll be going out of my way to shop at Sobeys from now on.

The best grocery bakery ever, in my opinion. Have all sorts of artisanal bread that are truly outstanding. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

In light of pandemic, there are no employees stopping customers to tell them to wear masks. This lady walked into the store without mask. Later on she put on the mask when she was in the middle of the produce section touching food then she puts on the mask.

There was a few employees walking so close behind me what happened to social distancing? I almost bumped into her when I turned around that's how close employee was standing. The store was dead do not tell me there were no space to walk around me.

Excellent service especially the meat department where they went above and beyond to get me the information I needed with the ingredient list for the fresh sausages. BTW.maple blueberry sausages are fabulous.

Great prices, great products.ots of gluten free options. Best price on meat, and humanely raised.

Clean store. Not overcrowded like Wal-Mart and superstore. I little on the expensive side of things but better produce and other products then big chain grocery stores

Might not come back! They don’t allow you to place your own containers or re-usable bags into the little table (packaging area) as they don’t want to clean it. Makes me wonder how clean the store actually is, if they refuse to clean an area that’s constantly being use by people.

Not really "Save On Foods" when I can literally get the same brands at a much lower price pretty much anywhere else. This review isn't for this location but more for the company as a whole. I will never do my entire household shopping here at these prices. The odd thing or two but that's it.

I always get great delivery service from this location, sometimes items aren't in stock though.

I absolutely like this Save-On. They're always well stocked. They have an awesome selection in their bakery area of breads and pastries. They have excellent standards in their produce, always fresh, clean and a good selection. The staff are super nice, friendly and most helpful. I really enjoy going here cause I always find what I'm looking for and they do have some good sales on items I normally get. I went around noon on a weekday, didn't wait in line to get in and didn't wait in line for a cashier. They also have some wonderful packaged meals and freshly made. Ample parking also and the store is always very clean and we'll kept.

I want to send 5 stars to Natalie in pharmacy. 6 months ago she helped me with a very difficult situation. The kindness she showed me made a huge impact. Please let her know how much I appreciate her.

As I was shopping I noticed this employee multiple times then as I'm at the self check out he just stands near it seemingly minding his own business so I walk out and quickly glance at him and made quick eye contact. I don't think I seemed suspicious in the least

We go to this location every week for our groceries but have felt unsafe the last two visits. We went last night and the store was very full. Of everyone in the store - staff, managers, clients etc. We saw two people wearing masks. We saw a manager? Working the self check outs not behind any type of protection and not wearing a mask. The carts were not being sanitized and no one is offering hand sanitizer. I was able to locate a random bottle of spray near the carts and sprayed every one there to try to help but I find this very unsettling and don’t feel comfortable during this time returning. If you’re mindful of your health and those of others - skip this location for now.

I usually shop from this location. I really like their cakes and deli's fresh products. I really wanna share that there is a cashier who is really polite. Her name is Vani, always ready to help. Always smiling. She is the best cashier.

The cashier lady was very rude, and kept judging me for the way I spoke. I lost my voice a week before and it came back, and the lady said I spoke quiet when she could still hear me. I didn't ask for her opinion and that was unnecessary! Why do people like this have a job? ! By the way she should look in the mirror at herself!

Averages grocer. Nothing special. Kind of lame you need a save on card to take advantage of sales when Sobeys you can just walk in and get a sale price any day of the week.

I was at this location April 9th 2020 and their cleaning and sanitizing standards were not what they should have been. Cashiers werent wearing gloves. They werent cleaning the tills after each transaction. No one was at the self checkout sanitizing after each person. I was appalled. Sobeys has my business from now on

Sat at the self check out for 26 minutes and no one would help me as I had an item that wouldn’t ring through. Manager and lady at the front both ignored me. Called to complain but there was no manager in store, and the “acting manager” that took the call was the one that ignored me and wouldn’t help me in store. After 2 hours in the hectic store I had to leave without groceries as no one would help. Manager refused to give me his regional managers contact info to place a formal complaint. And apparently didn’t get the training memo of place call on hold before you sit and lie and call the customer names while he can still hear you on the line. All I could hear was lies on the phone from their employees. The lady behind the self checkouts is the laziest THING you will ever meet. Ignoring customers and playing with empty baskets to pretend like your doing something isn’t part of your job description I bet. If you want horrible service this is the place to come, right from management all the way down. Formal complaint will be submitted in writing to your regional manager via certified mail.

I've always liked Save-On-Foods. Better organized than Sobeys and Safeway, and from my experience, better priced as well.

I love the win bar! My partner at work and I eat here every day of the week now. The only thing I can complain about is i waited 45 minutes for them to put out the wings bar and was constantly told "it will only be another 10 minutes". After the 4th time I stopped believing them. I was at the store early though 10 20, and I understand they have time guidelines they gotta follow. I would of just liked an honest answer.

Meat department: please ensure that you clean the salmon of its bones properly. I bought the farmed salmon (not sockey) but it had too many bones and was hard to eat.

A regular Save-on, but they were out of green dye, which was my whole dang point in going there. Why not stock up on it around "cultural events? "

I like the new merchandise setup in the store and also lots of new products.good work by the Management

I ordered a cake on my kid's birthday party. The person who made that cake was so rude and made the cake same way how she was feeling. I was so disappointed. People normally order a cake because they want the day to be special for a person, so do I, but my experience with this save on food bakery was not good. The Cake's surface was not even leveled correctly.

We came in to grab a couple things and the staff were really accommodating. Ask we walked around and saw new items they told us the pros n cons of each new thing.

Would highly recommend
