This save on it's getting five extra Stars from me because the lady there was very kind took the time to help me with my save on more card was there for about 45 minutes taking care of business she was fast and friendly if I could remember her name I posted on here but I can't so when I do I will re-edit this and give her the other five stars highly recommend produce it looks fantastic meat looks fantastic and prices were reasonably Fair will be going back again and again and again
When I shop in person the staff are very friendly and helpful. When I shop online I like the fact that the delivery person calls me 10 or 15 minutes before he arrives, and if there are substitutions, he informs me of those as well. All the veggies and fruits are fresh, and the bakery products are always in perfect condition.not squashed or crumpled, and they have a wonderful variety of baked goods.something for everyone.
Great grocery store. Amazing staff - Always willing to help! Fantastic management - my boys received foam noodles from the store manager and to this day they can't stop talking abut it! My boys love fresh products from the bakery. This location has the best baked goods - the bakery staff always make sure you get what you want, very friendly and caring
This isn't a frequent grocery stop for me, but I was in the neighbourhood and stopped by for a quick lunch. Large very inviting deli selection, and I found a managers special on some specialty items (olive tapenade and ice cream) for $2. The cashier accidentally over charged me and immediately refunded my money, which was nice as I didn't have to go through customer service.
Biggest downside of this grocery store is there is only one checkout lane pretty much everytime ove gone here. Sometimes 2 but it's a very slow process to ever get checked out of this store. They have suishmallows tho
UPDATE - Please ask for Nadia if you are ordering cupcakes from Save-on-foods (97 street and about 162 Ave)
The 4 1/2 dozen cupcakes you decorated for my mom's 90th Birthday were a hit. We appreciate the beautiful artistic work and the pastel colours you chose! I know you (I'm not sure of your name) are on holidays, so I hope they'll let you know as soon as you're back to work. We picked up the Cupcakes on Aug 16,2021. THANK YOU! Brenda MacDonald
The place tends to be clean, I like their kitchen area, though I find their food & groceries overpriced. Definitely not as budget friendly as other competitors.
Sunday sept 26th. Went there 3 pm. Some customers without mask.no enforcment of health measures considering the situation in Alberta. There is efforts to be made.
Mediocre, as one has to be mindful of prices and carefully check over the quality of product s sold. This location next to Canadian Tire seems to be not as well managed as other Save On Food locations. Meat and bakery depts mediocre at this location only, in my experience. Notice how a lean cut was packaged and appeared good but loaded with useless fat not trimmed out of sight. Do not know who does the butcher work, but feel deceived by packaging at 160 ave off 97 st location of Save On Foods. Possibly other stores have same occurrences.
Not bad store bakery always seems fresh and produce is good just need to have more friendly service some cashiers seem depressed and take it out on customers no friendly greetings when paying my 3 yr old daughter kept saying hi and the cashier just seemed to roll her eyes horrible roll models when it comes to politeness
Too expensive for most things, but they do have good quality meats and produce as well as some hard-to-find imported and local foods. Checkout is usually very quick, even when it's busy.
We have frozen chicken thighs and chicken breasts and chicken legs as they have on sale for twenty bucks and you get a lot of them for twenty bucks and they are really good really tender and they make for a really great meal I recommend going to Save On Foods anywhere and getting their western family box of frozen chicken thighs legs or breasts when they're on sale and buy them you will not regret it
I think management here! Should really sharpen there pencil there is major line ups and only 3 cashiers You have to wait 25 mins to get to a till Careless weak management very unprofessional You should jump on the Till and help
Employees walk by these huge line ups and no one is taking lead to jump on a. Till Never coming back to this location again
Checked out this store cause my regular didn't carry an item I needed and when I walked into Save on I was fully impressed at the covid safety precautions and safety measures in place.seems like the save on shoppers actually listen to the safety measures and follow them! Gave my anxiety a breathe of relief
I love this particular Save-On. I live in the north end now but when I have a reason to come to this end of town & now by transit, I always come here to shop. Save-On has decent prices & this Save-On has some nice people.
This save on foods used to be my favourite with friendly, helpful staff. The new staff there are awful. The other day I went in and asked a worker where I could find something and she responded back by saying “You’ll have to ask someone else. I’m busy. ” Wow! Didn’t know it was that hard to say what aisle something is in. Terrible customer service.
My least favorite save on foods. They never have the correct prices at the til. They will not honor the sale tags they have, the cashiers just say "it's weird the tag hasn't been updated". I would much rather go to save on foods @ 50 St market. The customer service is unmatched and they do HONOR their prices advertised. Management much better. Stay away from namao save on!
This save on foods is run poorly. Also warning everyone: please check expiry dates. Found ketchup that expired in 2018.2 years ago. Good job to the owner of this location for having no conscious. Would you sell expired food to your family? ! Probably not. People beware!
It must have been a mistake if I shopped here. I have not purchased anything from a Save-On-Foods in years The only good thing about Save-On-Foods is the name
Mediocre, as one has to be mindful of prices and carefully check over the quality of product s sold. This location next to Canadian Tire seems to be not as well managed as other Save On Food locations. Meat and bakery depts mediocre at this location only, in my experience.
OMG so expensive, it's unreal even with the card you pay 50 cent to a buck 50 more then superstore and Walmart. They price match but who has the time to price match every item in your cart lol
Prices were misleading, promoting sale price, which then required a card, which is not mentioned on the sign. When I asked for the sign to be honoured, assistant manager insisted I get the points card and that it's not their intention to mislead, they just have to make sure people get their points card. When I said I wouldn't get one and was dissatisfied, assistant manager told me to have a nice day because they don't need my business. I won't be returning to this or any Save-On-Foods location.
Inconsistent service quality. On a regular basis I will go in at 10. Barely any baked goods or items in the deli. When I approached a so called manager he told me to try Sobeys
Convenience is number one. I have been a customer since they arrived in Edmonton. I find their produce see tion a bit small and at times the produce does seem to be in good condition. Otherwise I recommend using it
I have shopped at this store for years, now yesterday was a different story, they have new staff - no greetings, totally incompetent, and if one complains they put you on IGNORE and voice their opinion - Think I will revisit Safeway/Sobeys - IT IS ALL ABOUT THE ATTITUDE of these new employees - I brought my own bags, cost of groceries 195.00 and the cashier still wanted 5 cents for a bag to put my meat in - really?
Conveniently located grocery store. Prices are equivalent or lower that area competition (good to know prices so you can shop effectively). Save-On card can save you a great deal when shopping, it is worth having the card.
I go to Save-On-Foods pretty much strictly for the convenience of this particular store to a transit centre. It is an expensive place to buy groceries, even with their card prices. Selection is not up to par with Superstore and their prices are generally quite a lot higher than Superstore prices for the average grocery trip. They do have certain items of good quality which may come up in sales if you watch the flyers carefully. Occasionally some very good products are available at very attractive prices but you really have to watch for the. The store is clean, the staff is friendly. But the prices are generally too high. Sobey's does a better job of keeping their checkouts adequately staffed. I sometimes catch a specific item at a great price but usually I go here for convenience' sake.
I shopped at the Nameo location today. I had a most wonderful shopping experience. The store is so clean and organized and everything I was looking for was stocked and easy to find. The best part however was the staff. I had numerous staff come up and ask me if I needed anything or any help without even asking. I however was most impressed with the cashiers. Taya and Allison. As I was going thru the checkout I realized I had forgotten to get milk. Allison immediately offered to go back and get it for me while Taya was finishing my order (which was quite large). Both girls asked a few Times if I was going to be okay to get it all to my truck and even offered to get another cart and help as my cart was heavily loaded. I was okay tho. Or so I thought. I got out to my truck and started to unload which was more of a task than I thought it would be. But along came Taya who had come out to get carts. She saw I was struggling and came right over to me and put the rest of the groceries in my truck for me without even being asked. Then she took the empty cart and proceeded on. I really think that these two young ladies deserve a pat on the back for the fantastic customer service. They went above and beyond their duties in helping out an almost (lol) senior I don’t shop this store often but I will be shopping here more often just for the friendly and superior service I recieved Sorry for the lengthy review but I had to be sure these girls got the recognition they so well earned and deserve. Thank you Joyce Morrison.
I was shopping at Save-on-Foods and simply picking up groceries for the week and was pleasantly greeted by my cashier, Sahar. She was extremely polite and was a model employee that any other cashier should strive to be. Not only was she courteous and efficient, she was personal and cared about the customer and the experience was something that I was not expecting to experience by simply shopping at a mere grocery store. I will always return to this Save-on-Foods for my future grocery needs thanks to Sahar.
I prefer to shop at save on foods more then any other grocery store, I love that they stock local Canadian foods, & the large produce section, the one thing I do wish they had, was a way bigger gluten free section, if it did I would give it 5 stars, Lately tho I do buy packaged foods from Walmart (simply to be more cost effective) but I do buy all my produce at save on still! (Ps if I had the budget I would only shop here)
Great selection of produce and organic items. Large deli and hot/cold ready take foods. Large bulk food isles and a pharmacy. Also, they're the only place in close proximity to sell Silk unsweetened coconut milk and at a reasonable price, most places don't stock the item. Use the self checkout except on very cold winter days, the system really lags/ fails because they're near the exit and it ends up taking far more time.
Produce is often about a day from being expired and you have to check it carefully before buying. They'll try to hide the produce that is past its "best before" date in with fresher goods. Also they love to hide broken eggs in the cartons - they'll turn them upside down so you don't see them when you inspect the carton for damage. And they are overpriced - but everybody should already know that.
I started shopping at this location because I was having the same problems with the other store I used to shop at. Now I will quit shopping here too.
