My sister and I had lunch here last Thursday. Excellent service and the food and presentation was fabulous. Especially the carrot summer squash soup. We will definitely be back.
My Husband and I have cherished our time spent at Schott’s Lake. We visit the restaurant about once every month and a half. The food is delicious, we’ve come to know the staff. Chef Chris and Hostess Tammi have treated us well.
The beautiful scenery and rustic ambience of the restaurant all add to the experience. I highly recommend a trip out to this hidden gem. If you’re worried about making the drive back to Calgary rent a cabin. You’ll get the best sleep, and experience some of Alberta’s hidden beauty.
Beautiful location, but it is a horrible service and despicable food. It was terribly overpriced. We will never go there again. We were there for a special occasion, and the server was inexperienced and untrained in customer service. Shame on them for the terrible service and even worse food. Don't waste your valuable time and money to drive there and have poor experience and gross, unedible food. Not just a one-off, everyone's food was disgusting.
We made a reservation for 14 people for my Mother in laws 80th Birthday. The service was great, the food was phenomenal. We took a great picture of the group on the deck. We definitely will be back and hope to spend the night next time.
Beautiful Rustic Restaurant! Fantastic food with a highlight being the Saturday Prime Rib Dinner. Cooked to perfection and served with a delicious Yorkshire Pudding and fabulous gravy! Includes a starter soup or salad and amazing dessert. Desserts are to die for!
It is a very nice place with a strong potential for development, but it seems to me that the owners do not want everyone around to know that this place exists. You are not on the map when asking for a restaurant nearby, given that you have no competition, you are not advertising yourself, but for nothing a wonderful place, very tasty and beautiful.
We love Schott's Lake. The food is awesome, the staff are incredible and we always feel so welcome! We also enjoy the location and a little walk around outside is very peaceful.
I can’t say enough good things about Schott’s Lake. I booked a room for myself for 3-nights so I could hide away and catch up on some work. I wanted a place with a fireplace to keep me cozy and a restaurant to keep me fed and I didn’t think I would find something in such a quiet rural setting. It was perfect.
I booked a fireplace room in the motel for Friday to Sunday night. I was pleasantly surprised at how well priced the room was and that there weren’t any hidden resort fees or unexpected charges. When I arrived, check in was very simple. The room was so comfortable and the temperature was perfect. I decided to treat myself to a nap and that has to be the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. It was hard to crawl out of bed and go down to the restaurant which is a short walk away. The grounds and view are spectacular in the winter.
I had the fish and chip special Friday night, the prime rib special Saturday night, breakfast Sunday morning and takeout Sunday night. I have zero complaints about the food. I couldn’t finish supper either night. The portions are great. Breakfast was by far my favourite. The prices were very reasonable. I have no regrets. I will definitely be back for the food and probably another weekend away for some peace and quiet in a beautiful setting.
Thank you for having me and for making it such a great retreat.
The restaurant is located in a log building facing the Lake. The breakfast menu is eclectic and creative. This time I had the Lobster Bennie and my dining partner had the Lobster & Brie omlette. Both dishes were outstanding. Service was excellent. Another very satisfying dining experience at Schotts Lake! Great place to take a Saturday morning drive with family or friends from Calgary and then have a tasty gourmet meal!
The motel is quaint but cozy and meets all our needs. The real star at this resort is the food… we are foodies that regularly eat at some of the best restaurants in Calgary and Las Vegas.the food here is right on par with the best out there. Had the Elk spring rolls, wild boar lasagna and Mongolian beef. Breakfast we had lobster and Brie omelet… absolutely amazing! Bravo! The beers and cocktails are fantastic and very reasonably priced too. Only comment I would make is that the wine list doesn’t match the other drink menu or quality of food but that is a real minor issue. We will make this a regular stop going forward.
Another fantastic visit to the dining room! Today was Christmas Eve brunch and it will become our new tradition. The food was sooooo good (it always is). Just when you think you’ve tasted everything at a breakfast buffet, Chef Chris throws in cold smoked salmon and lobster eggs Benedict - need we say more? AMAZING! They drive out, the atmosphere in the dining room, the view of the lake and the food ALWAYS make for a memorable visit!
Booked online for our anniversary dinner and asked in the special notes when I booked that if they do anything special for this type of event. During the dinner they did wish us happy anniversary and gave us a substantial discount on our meal. Dinner was delicious and so was the desserts. Would definitely attend in the future.
One of our favourite places to go for a delicious meal, with generous portions, at reasonable prices, the chef is personable and has a great menu selection. It’s a beautiful setting, and a scenic drive there.
We celebrated my husband's birthday with friends at this beautiful restaurant. Not your average eatery! The menu is different from most, the food is exceptional and the staff friendly and efficient. We will be back!
We had a special request for the Bison Steaks for some family that had come to visit and Chef Chris was very accommodating and cooked them to perfection. Also Tammie our Waitress was great.
Went for Friday fish and chips, our server was excellent and the food came quickly and was very good. I've been wanting to check the restaurant out for awhile and I wasn't disappointed.
Stayed in the motel and the surroundings were awesome. Highly recommend for people planning a stay away from city life. Did not try the restaurant. Good that the property is always trying to improve to the services they offer.
We went to the restaurant at Schott's Lake Conference and Resort and it was outstanding. The food was all very delicious and we would do the drive again to eat there.
