After switching my business services from RBC it has been nothing but a nightmare. The business customer service is poor and I have deeply regretted switching banks. I submitted a loan request on june 13 and after waiting 56 days, I am then told I need to put a %15 down payment to apply for the loan. 56 days later! I went 16 days without any employees replying to emails or phone calls. When trying to leave a voice-mail I was left with messages that the staff were on a leave and to call back. After finally getting in contact with the branch manager, I was told the employee I was dealing with had been placed on a personal leave. They brought in another staff member to take over my file, but they too were placed on a personal leave. Not once had a scotiabank employee reached out to assist me in the application or inform me that either of the small business advisors were away. 56 days after meeting with an advisor, I am then asked what type of loan I would like to request! I am beyond shocked these employees are even employeed and trusted with dealing with people and businesses money. The small business department is awful. I highly recommend searching for a different bank If you are a small business!

Two people working as slow as they can while three people stand around and chat. Had to wait over 30min to talk to someone and there was only 1 other person in front of me. Overall, they could not help me. Why bother trying to help someone who wants to renew their mortgage with the bank? LOL. They told me to come back at the end of the week, when it'll be too late and the rates have shot up again. Utterly useless bank.

If I could give the staff, and specifically the branch manager and loan officer a negative star rating, I would. Given what transpired during our second mortgage application and the overall failure at every level, a negative review would be the most charitable, and also the most accurate.

Our application was mishandled with a lack of care, a complete lack of communication, failure of due diligence, and total disregard for our time at a level that is, in a word, shocking. The entire process could be best described as staggeringly incompetent.

After resubmitting the requested information 3 separate times (the same information, mind you), our request was ultimately denied, after leaving us hanging for nearly 3 weeks. Our phone calls were not promptly returned, even after our loan agent knew full well that our application was time sensitive. "Oh, we didn't realize this was time sensitive! ', was their canned reply. This failure to communicate ultimately led to us losing a sale of our vehicle because the the buyer would no longer wait for the bank to hold up their end in the time frame they originally promised. The same went for the second buyer. Simply put, Scotia cost us two guaranteed sales because they couldn't keep their promises.

When phone calls were returned, Walter called back after business hours, completely unprepared to answer any questions, and totally unaware that the information he was requesting had already been submitted nearly two weeks prior. To add further insult, my wife rescheduled an entire afternoon's worth of meetings with her corporate colleagues, to make herself available at Walter's request to conduct a phone meeting to clarify things and move forward. Walter ultimately decided to skip that phone call, without informing us, showing a blatant lack of respect for both our time, and his professional obligations to customers that had already been left hanging.

Despite clearly communicating that the relevant information had been repeatedly submitted 3 separate times, and anything else simply wasn't available due to old accounts being closed (in good standing), the redundant emails and excuses continued without resolution.

The branch manager did finally relent and contact us regarding these failures, and simply said 'we will use it as a coaching tool'. And that's all. After 3 weeks of missed deadlines, failed communication and outright disregard for their customers, that was the resolution offered by Scotia Bank.

I'm looking forward to escalating this to their complaints department, just as much as I'm looking forward to pulling our mortgage from Scotia Bank at renewal time, as well as our day-to-day banking needs. I'm left both frustrated and shocked at the blatant contempt my wife and I have been shown during this entire process.

If you value your time, your self-worth as a customer, and your sanity, seek service elsewhere. Because Scotia Bank, and particularly Walter and Alberto don't value it, or the customer at all. That much has been made painfully clear.

Beyond horrible customer service and follow up. Went in to request a new card in October 2021 and now have been trying to fix an issue they not only caused but have made worse for the last 4 months. Have been in multiple times and told the issue was fixed… still is not! Would not trust the customer service agents here. They do not understand there own products and will not follow up with you on important issues. Will be making a complaint.

Since covid started this Branch has fallen apart. The manager Alberto is incapable of acknowledging when a customer is upset about a situation and will hang up on you or just simply not acknowledge you are there. Sadly this behaviour has been passed down to other managers such as Maryam who assisted me in branch because the manager stayed in his office, and she had then proceeded to give me false information about a matter. Later I received a phone call and it was Maryam just saying she can’t help me anymore. Therefore the management team when dealing with conflict seem to take the easy route and just send you away and say they cannot help you. Got to the point where I had to escalate this situation to the presidential office where hopefully the managers at this branch either get replaced or re trained on how to do their job because right now they are failing greatly.

The hours they keep are disgusting!
The advisers are rude and incompetent.
They will lie about pre approved products, only to reject your application and ding your credit report.

The bank tellers are nice at this branch. The manager of this branch however is great at pointing fingers at other departments and giving false information of things getting taken care of within 3 days. They closed off an account and reverted it to a loan at which point they took the money from my account without any of my knowledge when it was the bank of scotia's fault for not responding at a proper time on my moving over to a debt consolidation program. I've called multiple times to have this fixed and with no response. Collections department now calling me on this loan that the branch already took money from me to pay it. You want a bank that gives you false information and blames each other than sure go with this branch and the bank.

Horrible nobody returns calls. Changes that are being made need to be redone at least 3 times. Leaving this dump 0 stars
