I had such a pleasant experience with Roberto at the 32nd avenue location. He was so patient, helpful and assisted with all my banking needs. Amazing customer service, thank you Roberto!

I find it so pathetic that my bank couldn’t exchange 20 dollar bills for 100 dollar bills. The bank manager was not even interested in listening to see if she can exchange some of the money! I even asked her if I can order bigger bills and she said no. She pretty much was not interested in helping me out or offer any solutions. I wish I don’t have to deal with such people at the branch. She certainly doesn’t appreciate her position. I’ve never in my life heard that from any banks!

Went there to deposit a cheque. The teller called the manager on duty (forgot his name, bald brown guy with beard and mask). The manager started asking personal questions unrelated to finances on why I did not take cash instead of cheque, etc. He just made his own policies and started talking about how he controls this bank, and he won't accept the cheque because he is in power and control, and he doesn't have to if he doesn't want to. He said he doesn't have to follow Scotiabank policies and that this is his branch and he makes his own rules. This is very unprofessional branch run by brown people. A note to him- this is not India/Pakistan. This is Canada. You have to follow rules of this country and policies set by Scotiabank. You are an employee of that organization. You do not own this bank. Be competent and learn to talk to people.

Said it was open but it’s a business location so it’s closed, please correct your hours online.

Not my first complaint about the managers at this branch over the years. This Sunridge branch has always had poor managers. I own a manufacturing business near this branch and have for 25 years. The last 20 years I have been driving 15 min to Bridgeland scotiabank to avoid this branch. Managers at Sunridge have always been arrogant A holes.

The Bridgeland branch is worth the drive. The managers and staff are always friendly and knowledgeable.

This location needs help seriously always 2 cashiers working only and for some reason they take time between transactions. This location needs better managements.

2 tellers working on a pay day Friday at 230pm. Exactly why I'm here to close my Scotiabank accounts.
22 November 2022 2:29
They've taken 38k out of my account between december 24th and January 6th with no apolagy (supposed to be $380). Recently, they charged me over $500 in overdraft interest bc my payments came 5 days after and exceeded my overdraft. They then decided to wait until after the long weekend to deposit it (knowing I was losing my vehicle and the place I was renting.) They've made so much money from me being broke over the years. Twisted people.

Bank machines don’t always work and the drive through bank machine rarely works. The hours are also not very flexible so it it hard to withdraw or deposit funds. Kind of useless as a bank.

We have a very good experience from this branch. The bank representative that we dealt with is super helpful and effective.

We opened a new bank account for my mom who just currently got her job/ permanent residence. Kunle helped us extra mile and is respectful to us.

Will give 5 star Rating to Kunle! You deserve it Bro.

Worst bank, worst service ever. I tried calling customer service line and the line keeps cutting off, when I finally was able to talk to a rep, after 30 mins.on hold, the line was cut off too. I don't recommend doing business with Scotiabank.

Hopefully TODAY I'll be able to DEPOSIT via the ATM and pay my rent, which is now four days late. I don't drive and am in the hospital nearby. I have been unable to DEPOSIT money for the past 3 days. I can't see a human teller, because I can only leave my unit for 30 minutes at a time.
I've never known a bank to NOT want money.
Here's hoping today will be different.

Poor service from a branch manager is really disappointing. I am sorry for the rating if my experience is a result of the manager having a bad day.

But Scotiabank should invest money to train the manager to identify customers' problems precisely and resolve, at least navigate them to resolve their disputes with an acceptable level of accuracy, respect and empathy. Just throwing some rule of thumb without considering the situation does not solve problems the bank made because of their system maintenance excuse.

Here is the story- since last month, as per I am aware, my credit card limit exceeding and causing an over-limit charge. Previously, faced the same problem and called online help, they resolved the problem by refunding the money charged. This morning got a call that my over-limit should be paid soon that appears today. I presented my dispute that I requested before for putting a cap on my limit and if any attempt made over my card limit should show the decline. The person on the other end understood the situation, apologized, took my request and transferred my call to the dispute resolution department. Interestingly, they could not verify my information although I already talked to the previous agent and more interestingly they initiated the call. They sent me to the nearest branch to resolve it.

I went to the branch and met the teller who explained clearly that she cannot do anything about it and called the manager. She started giving me the solution as I need to book a meeting with an advisor to BE EDUCATED ON HOW CREDIT CARD WORKS AND HOW TO USE them without telling me what should be the solution to resolve the dispute. I had to request the manager twice to listen to my situation. Finally, she understood that I am not here to Enrol in the Educational Course rather to solve the problem. Then, I inferred my expectation that she will not head about the situation but rather will waste more time from me with the advisory meeting but ultimately I need to pay. Ironically, it would take only 20 seconds to navigate me without wasting my time. It would be more satisfactory if she could be empathetic and polite, if possible, with a smile.

Last, I felt that if I run for resolution it will cost me more time, and destroy my peace. So, I walked away with a smile and said thank you to show how to smile and say thank you even you are dealing with a very upsetting situation and know there is no way to escape loss. On the way paid the ransom and moved on to reduce more damage. Feeling a little better.

But back in my mind, I am thinking I gave scotiabank 6 years of loyalty but this experience shows they do not care!

Went to the teller yesterday. Same teller that helped me out on Friday with my situation. I went back to follow and received attitude eye rolls. She was not a pleasant person to deal with. Very disappointed in Scotiabank

This branch has been so wonderful for me from the start of opening my business account for my law firm and every step of the way since then. Jinger Forde is the best person you could have on your team as a small business owner. She goes above and beyond - a total treasure at the branch.

The front end team is always super kind and friendly! I normally would hate going to a bank, especially during Covid, but this branch is always efficient and effective. They also have done an amazing job with Covid protocols.

We have had a mortgage with Scotiabank for 5 years now. We made an appointment for a mortgage renewal 3 times with different people and all 3 times they didn't show or call to cancel!

Now we are taking our mortgage and investments to a different bank with a high customer rating and much lower interest rates for mortgages! Extremely disappointing.

Its not scotiabank that is bad, its this location that is bad. These people all appear to be in training and if you need something critical done then dont count on these guys to do it properly. Maybe try another location if you insist on scotiabank.

Called and lmovm with FA and he returned the call, asked him to transfer the cash balance in RRSP into my MF and he said he would, still waiting, I don't get it, why such poor customer service and yet the bank says they are making a profit, How Can they?

To get even the most simple question answered by phone is impossible. You immediately get rerouted through to the central office, usually to someone whose english is difficult to understand. Reaching the local branch is impossible.

I would like thank Mr. Olumide Ojeyinka (financial advisor) who processed the application of my debit and visa card. I really appreciate his passion and dedication in driving the approval of my card. You’ve shown an excellent customer support by doing the extra mile of keeping me on track. Hope your commitment and empathy towards your customer will be recognised by Scotia. If you all guys need to open and seek help don’t hesitate to book an appointment with Mr. Olumide.

Opened my account with Iqra and everything went smooth, then I tried to apply for a credit card with her and my God it was the worst experience I've had. Gave her a the letter of employment and pay stud with 80 hours and she said I wasn't working full time. Gave her another letter of employment and another pay stud (she said I should be getting the card in 10days) and I never got a call or email back, so I called and they said there was no application under my name and i asked to speak with iqra and she was in vacation and took longer than expected. I have no clue what she did with my personal information. This rating is specifically for IQRA, I tried again with Tejas and everything worked out great the first time.

I have always said, Scotiabank has the worst customer service in the world. My son passed away in November and I delivered a copy of the Death Certificate and evidence of our court ordered application for Administration which takes about ten weeks. In the meantime they would not even give me the opening balances required for the court application.

Then, without consultation with me, Scotiabank closed his Visa and Amex accounts, disposing of the approximately 65,000 award points my son had accumulated. When I asked about it I was told he just loses them.

As for my son's chequing account, Instead of freezing it, they continued withdrawing automatic RSP and TFSA contributions into his other accounts held at the same branch. They also allowed any other automatic withdrawals to continue unimpeded. This caused the estate to go into overdraft for which they charged an NSF Fee on a returned item of $45. Scotiabank also created an interest bearing loan to cover the overdraft on their own withdrawals. They really ought to have known that transferring funds into an RRSP after death is quite pointless, and that letting a checking account to continue to operate without any accountability for 10 weeks exposes the estate to undue risk. The bank will now also have to holdback income tax on those RRSP deposits at the highest rate of 30%.

Finally, on March 7,2019 when I went to my scheduled appointment with Alex, with certified documents in hand showing me as his court appointed Personal Representative (Executor), I expected to finalize everything. Instead, when I asked when I can expect to receive access to the funds in his RRSP and TFSA, I was told that he (Alex) basically had no power/authority or idea - maybe weeks. "That is up to the estate department" he said.

I told Alex at our meeting that he must not mail any bank drafts because the last time Scotiabank mailed me a Bank Draft, it "supposedly" got lost and I never received it. Weeks later I had to sign all sorts of Personal Guarantees stating that if anyone later finds it and fraudulently cashes it I will personally be responsible to replace the funds. I suspect it more than likely got lost in someone's file and never got mailed in the first place but if I didn't sign it they would not give me the funds. While this is quite another matter, this kind of thing seems typical for this bank chain.

To continue, four days after our meeting I called Scotiabanks main Customer service line to find out what is happening with the estate. I briefly explained my plight to Samantha. She asked me if my son was with me on the phone. I said NO, I told you I wanted to speak to someone in the estate department because my son was deceased. Instead, she transferred me to the Investments department.

Akbar in Investments answered and initially told me I need to call the government of all places! I scolded "are you serious? Do you really think the government is going to tell me why I haven't got the funds out of his accounts yet"? Then he said he'll leave a message for Alex at the branch, right where I started off.

Alex at the branch rarely if ever returns a phone call or answers an email. Nobody at Scotiabank has any idea about anything. Meanwhile the estate is in hawk to me to the tune of 40K while Scotiabank apparently does nothing but stall.

Dealing with an estate is troublesome and time consuming. What makes the whole process worse is when one of the banks involved keeps jerking you around.

Update - March 22nd, 2019. Scotiabank has still not release the funds or given me any indication as to when they will. I'm making a report to the Ombudsman and placing a call to the Financial Consumer agency of Canada. Closing my savings account there today. There's lots of better places to park your savings and get a much better return.

Met with TEjas (financial advisor) regarding closing my account, withdrawing and stopping investment contribution. Funds transferred to checking account and called his direct line to cancel account as per his instruction, no answer, left a message. A week later no call back checked my account but deductions were still made. Called customer service (very helpful) they cancelled contributions for me and was told they have emailed Tejas to cancel the recent contribution and to keep in touch to close the account. It's been a week, still waiting for the call back and the amount to be transferred to my checking account. Very frustrating. Not my first time to experience very bad service in this branch though.

I Was told I could deposit my money at the ATM by a branch employee walking around with a tablet and that I would have full access to it right away. I deposited my money and when I went to use it I was told that I had a 5 day hold on it. They should not have people there who are lying to people to avoid long line ups.

I work nights and have to sleep during business hours, but they shut off the ATMs from the public after they close, so my only option for depositing my tips is through the drive through atm. Or would be, if it were ever in working order. It's ALWAYS having technical issues. Either open your ATMs back up or keep the drive through maintained. This inconvenience has made me late for rent payments more than once.

I opened up a new account and Zachary helped me through it, I never had such a great experience with a bank before, never expected anything more than just opening an account but he was so helpful and informative and I felt completely informed about the exact things I was doing with my account.he was the best banking specialist I've ever dealt with in my life, and definitely impressed me.have already recommended this branch, and him specifically, to people I know. While I waited for my appointment, everyone working was very attentive and nice!

Great for those looking to establish first time credit.
I just took my son to this branch to start building his credit. I thought a credit card or if necessary, a loan where I cosigned for him would help him develop a credit history. Our loans officer, Brad, was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Within an hour he took the application, explained everything thoroughly and approved the credit card based on my son's application alone. I think they gained a long term client that day.my son was especially impressed with how he was treated.

The customer service needs to be worked on. I came here with a few questions and they told me to call a number to talk to other representative.
