About 6 months ago I booked appointment with a financial advisor named Chris unfortunately I forget his last name and can't find it now but I will. Long story short he is an absolute narcissistic self serving fill in the blanks.he has given me the worst financial advice possible so much so that it destroyed my hard earned credit score. I can't believe I believed a single word that came out his mouth. So thank you Chris you singhandedly hurt a young entrepreneurs success I hope that make you happy!

Scotia bank owes me $300 (we’ll documented) after closing my accounts over the summer. After two months of waiting for them to send me the check they have now announced that they have lost my money and will not give me any timelines or any resolution in writing. I have been given a lot of runaround since the summer. Filing an investigation with consumer affairs alberta Monday morning.

If I could give negative stars I would! This branch randomly stuck someone else’s defaulted loan on my credit report and despite my best efforts to get help removing it all I get is crickets. I have never had a product with Scotia Bank and for sure never will! They run ads about how Scotia loves to “help” and “listen” but both are obviously lies! It’s been almost 8 months of hell dealing with this blotch on my credit report through no fault of my own and no end in sight.

Even after banking at this branch 30 years, staff seems to disappoint me more each time! Rude, disrespectful tellers, treat customers like they’re nothing. Should’ve switched a long time ago.

This is the worst bank experience.not with just the branch but the bank as a whole. Scotia bank in just 1 word - fraud. They know how to trick you into remove money from the pocket and the worst part never respond to the calls. I don’t even feel like giving 1 star. I already start transferring all my bank dealings with another bank now. Ohh man. You guys do such a terrible and worst job.

Asked for help with my Scotia Bank Visa and was told to call Visa directly. There was no one else here in the branch on a Saturday morning. I know the bank teller could have ordered a replacement because they have done that before. It seemed like she couldn't be bothered.

I would avoid this bank at all costs. I have been a customer for several years for mortgage and line of credit. I just paid off my line of credit and could get no reconciliations; they continue to withdraw payments from my bank account, even though the line of credit has been closed, and if I hadn't noticed it, I'm not sure if I would have been refunded the money, as no one contacted me to tell me there had been a mistake. My lawyer paid them on June 30 and by July 6 it was still not processed. The worst is that no one will ever return a phone call, and if they do, they say someone else will call you back, and they never do. You have to go to the branch to get anyone to talk to you. And then, good luck, because it is by appointment only, and the call centre to book an appointment has at minimum 30 minutes on hold. No one ever answers the phone at the Cochrane branch. And, even with COVID restrictions lifted, they still are operating under COVID restricted hours, to make it even more difficult to talk to someone. So frustrated. I just closed my chequing account there as well as I want nothing to do with this bank again. They used to have wonderful employees, like Marie, who has since retired. I haven't had good service since. Also, it won't let me post this unless I click on one star. I would give 0 stars. With all of the poor reviews, it is surprising that nothing changes. You would think someone from corporate would be reading the reviews and set some expectations.

An update. The assistant manager at Cochrane Scotiabank, Angela, was able to resolve my issue. Thank you for being empathetic and fair.

Their online banking site has been down for over an hour now with no way to find out when it'll be back up. Called the customer service centre, had to deal with a very bad auto-attendant first, only to be told there was a 15 minute wait to talk to a live CSR. But oh yes - my call is VERY important to them. The word frustrating doesn't come close. You can do better Scotiabank.

Booked RESP consultation appointment twice, first time they cancelled, second time - financial adviser did not show up for an appointment and we were send home without offering another consultant. Will be calling head office

Unable to reach anyone at the branch through phone, account was placed on hold after large deposit, left me with no access to my funds. Customer service is terrible if you are not able to get to bank in person.

My Husband received a phone call from Robert a Financial Planner, today asking if my husband was on " the list " meaning the "layoffs list "for two Companies which will be merging in 2021. Most unprofessional, and unethical behavior EVER. Would not recommend the Financial Advice of such Unethical Behaviour. We are not Scotiabank customers.but were solicited.so unprofessional.and Unethical?

I was unable to e-transfer funds into my Scotia account from another branch even though I had completed the same transfer for 8 years. They told me my debit card had expired so therefore my online service was locked. I asked why my new card had not been mailed, they stated because they do not mail this type of info.in the mail. (Wrong) I spoke to a supervisor who stated for some reason even though my statements were coming in the mail they returned my new debit back to Scotia, who was to then inform me, but somehow that was missed. I asked If they could just open the online for this particular transaction and they said no. Leaving me to drive 1hr and 20mins one way to go into a Scotia branch to resolve the issue.

Why do you make getting ahold of you impossible? For a branch with such embarrassing hours you think you would pick the damn phone up
