Ally is wonderful. I needed to take an amount of cash out and she asked why. It has to do with all the scams on people and I am so happy to see banks doing that. Ally was wonderful by the way I would and will use this bank always due to her customer service. So before you get your back up and say it’s non of there business lol just realize there are some scams happening where people are told to take out cash and don’t tell anyone. The bank is doing this for everyone’s protection. So thank you Ally: I have always had great service from scotia

Never have I ever had the displeasure of interacting with an unhelpful and judgemental clerk. I had recently lost my wallet and needed new bank cards, I was extremely stressed and I had left the bank more upset and stressed.

When I approached the counter I had explained that i had lost my wallet and needed new bank cards and she sat there and shrugged her shoulders at me. I had to ask again about the cards for her to take action.

She assumed that I didn't have any ID with me, but I infact did, it was my passport. I didn't not realize that it had expired, she had pointed it out to me that it was 3 days expired and then asked me why I didn't renew it. By the way that is non of her business as well unprofessional to ask.

At one point she had got me to do my signature on just scrap paper, at this point now I'm confused. She didn't not explain what this was for. I tried asking her and she just said to "you don't know what cursive means? " Very upsetting, she made me feel like I was not inelegant.

I finally got my card, I saw my name wasn't on it and because I have NEVER LOST MY WALLET BEFORE, I went back in to ask about it. She saw me and her face dropped to a frown and she said to me in a rude tone "if you want your name on the card you have to call. "

I have never felt this way leaving a bank before. I cried on my way home.

Was dealt with extremely harshly by a teller who was letting me know the system was down. She interrupted me and raised her voice to let me know when I had a general inquiry that did not require the system. Very unimpressed.

This bank service has completely deteriorated over the past 4 years. I was trying to get my account number changed to stop a hacker, but there is a huge lack of communication between the bank branch and fraud department helpline. The branch assured me that my account number was changed, but fraud department said it was never changed. Fraud department and the branch both blamed each other. Than when I came into the branch to have my entire Scotia account cancelled, the worker was named Shalon laughed in my face, cut me off lots, and used a very disrespectful tone, when I was being calm and patient.

The employees put their own stress onto their customers, and they have not taken accountability for their mistakes ever. Terrible terrible, very dishonest, rude dirty service, couldn’t even pretend like they like their job, none of them even smiled. DO NOT GO TO THIS BANK! OR ANY OTHER SCOTIABANK! If you get scammed (which you probably will) you will never get your money back.

I called the bank in advance to see if they were open on today Oct 1.2021. The message read the go rs as usual, I show up the back is closed.

I know the reason, Infact the whole mall is closed, but you would figure they would atleast update the message. To reflect the change of being closed on certain days out of the usual.

After a stressful morning with different Scotiabank locations I had gone to the south Centre mall location and was greeted with the nicest and most helpful girls at the front desks. They then set up a meeting with one of the financial advisors very quickly. Raafat El Borno was the Financial Advisor and he was amazing. He could see I was misinformed and in need of guidance with my finances. He is a breath of fresh air when it comes to dealing with banks. He listened to what I wanted to do with my finances and helped and exceeded my expectations. I am so grateful to call Raafat El Borno my financial advisor, and to call this location my home branch. Definitely recommend.

I once believed that Scotiabank was a decent bank, but after dealing with issues that this branch would not help me with I will be removing all my accounts from Scotiabank and taking my business to an Alberta based institution that will actually help me. My most recent interactions with this branch have been solved of the worst I have ever had the displeasure to experience. I will never be seeing foot in this branch other than to close my accounts.

I am so thankful and happy with the customer experience on Thursday, Feb. 18,2021 at Scotiabank SouthCentre Mall, in Calgary-AB – Canada.
Shallon was the first teller to help with all my question and needs and then Mr. Raafat El Borne take my account issues to solve all very quick and efficiently, also we have some help from Giovanna.
So, the teamwork is there, and the staff is professional, helpful and focused in customer experience and relationship. Had all solved and I felt very well valorized as a customer (and no, I do not have a big money, they do because they are professionals and equals).
Thank you so much team, I am so glad we have such a wonderful branch on our neighborhood.

Scotia in general has gone downhill fast since I opened my account in 2013 but this branch especially is the definition of Fail.

For the second time I had to go in and reactivate my account because it had a negative balance for whatever tiny amount of time (2 months tops). Why did it have a negative balance? Because while I was between jobs and the account was empty (a few cents left over from my last withdrawal) Scotia kept taking their annoying $4 fees out.

I tried calling to see if anyone was there to deal with it and got stuck in "Press 1 for _" prison only to end up at their main national call center. Guess what? No one available when I took time out to actually go in. Well, no one who wasn't "too busy" according to the clerk. Too busy at 11am in a mall? Too busy for the 5 minutes it takes? Okay.

But I did have the joy of dealing with their tellers who have zero customer service skills so that was TOTALLY worth the trip.

Hey, Scotia C-Suite guys: take a break from losing other peoples' money in the market and read some headlines. Not everyone has a steady cushy job right now. Because oil. Heard of it? Maybe quit making US work for YOU? Sound good?

My wife and I just got married so we decided to needed to consolidate our funds into an account. We had an appointment with Leticia Marques who has made me decide not to go with Scotia Bank.

She was rude, cutting me off as I was speaking. Unprofessional as she had not reviewed any of my account infomation beforehand in order to have an actual conversation about our needs and finally she basically implied we were poor. We have just paid for a wedding and we have no credit card debt but I believe because our bank account balance wasn't in the six figures she deemed us poor and not worth her time.

We were also asking if we would get anything for coming over as my wife would be a new customer but since I am not were we told it wouldn't be possible and if we did want something for signing up with a bank we should go elsewhere. Well Leticia we will be doing that because you are a terrible employee.

Always great customer service in-person. However, the advisor assigned to us is a diff story. Email replies takes days. Otherwise great experience.
