SAY NO TO THIS BRANCH.

My recent experience at Scotia Bank's Beddington branch was a stark deviation from my expectations. Initially, I was there for a routine transaction, a task I believed to be straightforward. Instead, I was met with denials from the branch manager based on petty reasons such as an unupdated home branch and job title.

This already uncomfortable situation worsened when the bank's staff subjected me to intrusive questions about my personal use of the funds, infringing on my privacy. Further, I couldn't shake off the feeling of bias in her actions, potentially stemming from my skin color and dreadlocks. The air of suspicion was palpable, suggesting an element of discrimination.

This unsatisfactory encounter, unfortunately, spanned close to an hour, only to culminate in the bank's refusal to carry out my transaction. Yet, in stark contrast, my subsequent visit to RBC was smooth and swift. They processed the same transaction within minutes, showcasing a considerable difference in customer service and efficiency.

This whole saga at Scotia Bank serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for more inclusive, efficient, and respectful customer care in banking.

Scotia is terrible. I feel like they are only there to help people with money.a bill went out, It was higher than usual. I was short $4.00.they bounced it. Now I'm being charged NSF fees. Really Scotia you couldn't cover $4.00. I'm so done.

The bank manager and assistant bank manager, are either incompetent or dishonest don't deal with this branch; especially for business. If i could give negative stars I would.

Terrible experience with this branch. Lost my wallet with IDs in it and requested a new debit card from this location. The desk lady asked me at least 5 security questions to verify I'm the owner of the account. Failed a couple questions as it's been very early when I set up these questions. The lady lost her patience and said "go back to your home branch". Like seriously? Can't you guys verify my identity through more questions? Before all these security questions I showed them my temporary driver license, picture of my lost IDs in my phone. My wife was also beside me and telling them it is a joint account and mentioned they can access to her account to prove that I'm the other partner. The desk lady declined this.
The assistant branch manager later came out and was even worse as she kept defending the desk lady and kept saying "let me finish". Shouldn't you listen to your client first before you are talking?
There is a Korean lady who helped me out eventually. That's the only reason why I am still with ScotiaBank now.

Absolute worst bank in this area. Avoid avoid avoid. Id give 0 stars if possible. Do not recommend this bank whatsoever. Terrible customer service, Terrible atm machines. Really bad customer service when calling customer service line. Really Really disappointed with Scotiabank. Invest in some new atm machines that work properly. Pathetic

I can't believe our country has this kind of bad service bank, asked so many paper and don't know how to pay bills, can't find government policy either, I had several bank accounts in other banks, never had this experience.

I can't say all staff are not professional, but almost all.

Very disappointed.
