My husband banks with Scotiabank & has for decades. He took our young child in to cash his cheque he received for his birthday. My husband brought a form of identification to show he was the parent of our child. The teller refused to cash the cheque unless our child opened a bank account. Went to another branch who happily cashed the check & wished my son a happy birthday. Extremely poor customer service.
TL;DR This branch has no respect for you, your time, or your business. You should avoid this branch if you value any of those.
I had an appointment to open a business account here with Susan Patteri. Only after waiting 20 minutes after our scheduled appointment time, was I informed she wasn't even in the branch. Perhaps that would have been fine if she had given me a heads up. She then rescheduled our appointment at the last minute a few more times.
When I finally got into the appointment she seemed aggravated for no other reason than that I was there, she was very condescending, which is ironic, as by the end of the meeting it was very clear just how incompetent she is.
I was under the impression that an advisor works with you, not against you. However that's apparently not how Susan interpret's her Job title. From the beginning she tried to find any reason she could to refuse my application and eventually she did. I left feeling defeated and exhausted.
After Susan's repeated reschedulings, I had a sneaking suspicion Scotiabank wasn't going to work out, so I made an appointment at a branch down the road. And in contrast, I didn't wait more than five minutes to see the advisor, he kept his appointment, he understood our situation from the start and didn't face any of the issues Susan did, as he knew what he was doing. He made the process painless and at the end I felt empowered, like I had someone in my corner, rather than fighting tooth and nail to open a simple bank account.
It's like Scotiabank doesn't want your business, which is fine I'll be happy to take my personal and business accounts to where I am valued.
I contemplated naming the other branch and employee, to give you an alternative to this branch. However I don't want to give Scotiabank any ammo to supress this review.
One by one, the people that made me love this branch have left, leaving only bitter and/or incompetent employees, like Susan. Such a shame Scotia doesn't care.
Dennis Blackburn made the purchase of my first home incredibly easy! He turned a monumental task into a smooth, streamlined, and efficient process. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
So far I been in here twice cuz someone has been frauding me and these people were as useless as they come. I got no further with sorting my stuff out and left there more frustrated then when I entered.
I received the worst customers customer service yesterday from a lady called Jessica and her co-workers/ partner in crime, very rude and unprofessional set of beings that works in this Innisfail branch, I will never visit that branch ever again and I plan to move my business elsewhere
Just purchased my first home and obtained my mortgage through Scotiabank Innisfail. Dennis was very patient, knowledgeable, and thorough through the entire process. I am thankful he took the time to explain the different options available to me, as I feel very confident in my decision to obtain my mortgage with Scotiabank. Excellent customer service - I highly recommend based on this experience. Thank you!
If I could give a negative rating I would give them -3. What a HORRIBLE experience!
UPDATE: I got a call from the bank manager a few months back. He said they could have my advisor come to my home to look over the banking paperwork from my son's account, since this whole thing has taken way longer than necessary. The advisir emailed me a very quip email asking me when i could come in. I explained that I didnt know when, just as before, as I don't drive. I haven't heard ANYTHING since then. Now it's tax season and everything is such a mess.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK! STAY AWAY FROM THEIR FINANCIAL ADVISOR!
The tellers are nice, but beyond that, the bank just creates big problems for people. _ First review: I met with a financial advisor a MONTH ago. I was supposed to get an email within 2-3 days of the meeting. I have never heard from her again.despite stopping in and expressing the details of this situation to a clerk. She promised that someone would email me within 4 days GUARANTEED. STILL no response. The advisor was nice to meet with.but her followup is appalling.
I’ve banked with scotia for almost 10 years. In that time I’ve worked closely with Dennis Blackburn. He has always taken the time to help guide and make recommendations that meet my banking needs. I am a loyal scotia bank client thanks to the incredible service I am given every time I interact with Dennis. Keep up the great work
Just wasted well over 10minutes waiting for an incompetent service person to complete a simple transaction. I was told that they do not call back, and then I got cut off. Start over.or switch banks? Lovely
Working the branch manager has been a pleasure Where I was not able to get the help required threw other banks scotia bank was able to assist me with all my financial needs.
