As others have said, beware of this bank! It is extremely difficult to accomplish anything at this branch without constant, in-person check ins. Advisors do not reply to emails or phone calls. Tellers are rude and impatient unless you have a straightforward request. I have had a couple of serious issues with this bank that have caused severe stress and have been time consuming to resolve. I am sure anywhere else is better.

I have had the worst experience with this branch. They dropped the ball numerous times with my mortgage application. The bank never responded to my emails or phone calls. The only way to get a response was to show up multiple times without appointments. They have also engaged in dishonest business practices leading me to question if fraud had occurred on my credit card. I highly recommend NEVER using this branch. I wish I could give them a 0 rating.

I came today at 1 to 1: 30pm got no help from the teller at the end. She wants me to call Customerservice so that’s what I did because I believe well of course call centre told me to go to branch again. What the H***need to go back to this useless bank. My card is expired and I only have credit card would need to apply for debit to access my online banking. What she said is our system is down for that request better closed your teller then. Never ever going to this branch again. I need to drive again and waste my time that I should be done already. Now, my plan is just cancel my entire account Customerservice here really bad. They don’t care at all.

I would recommend people not to go to this branch just to save your time as my experience was so bad, never had such bad services anywhere in canada. I went in to get my pay cheque deposited and the branch manager said that he can't get it deposited as he is not comfortable doing it. The staff sitting on other side even don't know how to serve customers. Customer service was worst. They just wasted my time in this cold weather. The excuse the manager gave was that it's bank policy that he can't get my pay cheque deposited. I have one question how other branch get that same cheque deposited. I will ask the higher authorities to take a note of it. To save time visit some other branch.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE.the *absolute* worst service and receptionist ever. Absolutely will not listen, refuses to make notes or answer questions. Not only did they NOT submit the proper paperwork which resulted in my investment account being frozen during the pandemic, the account disappeared along with my savings account from any app or in person system at all. I couldnt access my money because it didnt exist on their system. Had no answers for THREE years (you couldnt get through the phone line for 1.5 years during the pandemic) finally spoke with Itrade advisor who sent paperwork and said to fill it out at the branch so it could be sent and dealt with ASAP. Reception told me the wrong time of booking vs the confirmation email, made no notes on my file after telling me she has made multiple notes, and when an advisor called regarding the reason of my appointment because she had no idea, told me they absolutely do not just have people come in to sign paperwork or any way of sending it off.

Worst experience ever. Never go there for any kind of bank related work. RASHID is not at all a good executive. Very bad experience with him. My husband has been going there for so many time and nothing has done. Because he wanted to go out early for his work, he did not get my husband’s work done. Not at all recommend this place if you want your work done without getting frustrated. He is not at all good person even he did talk to my husband very rudely. Very very very bad experience.

I wish I could give them zero, worse branch from Scotiabank exactly the store manager absolutely no respect for customers and doesn't know how to treat them at all. Absolutely horrible experience.

One star is generous, if you love not being responded too or just flat out ignored, then this is the place for you!
I had two over the phone appointments with Billy Lam, he did not call for either of them, I left him a voice mail and still did not receive a call.
I booked a third appointment and the financial advisor was 20 minutes late.
After meeting with her, I spoke with a friend of mine who is a mortgage broker, she said she will cc me and email her some questions as I felt confused about a few things after our appointment.
Well it is now Thursday and the email was sent on Monday, I have still yet to hear back from this financial advisor.
I am honestly amazed these people still have jobs, then again, this location seems to have very low standards when they hire staff, so this should not be a surprise.

Billy Lam was great to speak to initially. I made several attempts at leaving messages and no call back. Made an appointment online only for another financial advisor to reach out and say Billy was busy and not available. The third time i called i got the famous voicemail stating he was out of the branch for several days returning at a posted date. It has been over a week trying to make contact and no avail. Don't waste your time. As an extra I was hoping for financial advice on planning my future as currently life has gone another path, but seemed to always bring up investment portfolio and bring in your statement for a review. This is not what i wanted, my investments are ok, financial planning advice is hard to find.

Don't waste your time with Billy Lam. I had to tell him exactly what I wanted and then remind him to do things throughout the appointment. He still managed to screw up a simple credit card application. When I tried to contact him about this, he just ignored me. For a "Senior Financial Advisor" he was able to give me zero insight on anything. I wish I would have read all the bad reviews on him before my appointment.

The worst Scotiabank experience I’ve ever had! On Saturday, I went to this branch doing government bills payment. The teller didn’t know how, and her supervisor didn’t know how to do it as well, told me to do it on Monday! Today I came again and luckily the teller did know how to pay it, however she didn’t even ask me from which accounts the bills will be paid. Only after I asked, then she realized, then reversed all transactions, then redid it from the correct account! Don’t go to this branch unless you have no other choices!

Worse service ever, miss deposit oversea check cost 2 thousand dollars loss on me, and not want take the responsibility. Have to complain to Toronto over head to resolve his faults, one of the receiption and the customer relationship manager are really rude and unprofessional.

This bank should be ashamed of the nonexistent customer service it provides. NO ONE is ever available. NO ONE ever returns your calls. Or voicemails. Or emails. The further up you escalate things, the more disappointment awaits. Once they have your money, it's the gauntlet of never ending jumping through hoops you have to conquer.

An absolute abomination. 1 star is still too much for this establishment.

Worst bank and employees in Canada. They are running a circus out there and playing with people's hard earned money. I have no idea how they happen to keep running this branch with such attitude and mediocre customer service. Never coming back, Scotiabank you have lost a customer forever.

All the reviews of Billy Lam are correct. He was not detailed oriented, never apologized for his mistakes, and was not a good advisor. On the other hand, the tellers tried to charge me on items that were free based on my account!

Worst consumer services and lack of professionalism.

Senior financial advisor Billy Lam did not even check my ID the first time he met me. After I signed a bunch of documents for investments, he then realized he needed verification of my identity.

I thought it was just a mistake and I still chose to trust him. I told him i needed to get my down payment in a week so I need to covert USD to CAD.
He told me he needed to call the foreign exchange traders office to get a good rate for a large sum of funds. And he agreed to call me a couple days in a row in order for me to get the best rate. He called me only 1 day and never called me again. I tried to phone him and let him know by voice mail that my down payment is due in a couple days. He called back and said he forgot to call me but will call me the next day. He didn't.

He never even apologized for anything he has done. I am extremely disappointed at scotiabank.

Had an appt with Billy Lam for mortgage porting and purchasing a new place. Our appt lasted maybe 5min and was super rushed, he said he'd email me required docs and I never heard from him. I then called and left a vm a few days later to remind him, to no avail. Still haven't heard a peep a week later. Perhaps our call was a figment of my imagination, no one knows. Apparently a "Senior Financial Advisor" doesn't mean anything to this bank.

Really bad experience. My client who is buying a house is risking to loose the deal because the senior financial adviser Sandeep who is in charge of the file decides to go on vacation for the second time in a month and she didn't had the responsibility to assign another persone who can remplace her in this file. Didn't even told or write a little email to my client letting him know that she will not be available to work on his file.

My client and me been trying to reach somebody in this brach for 2 days because we have a deadline for sending a letter of mortgage approval to the owner of the house. Nobody returned my phone calls. Finally when I talk to some lady, she told me another senior adviser Bill will call me before the branch closes. Nobody called me.

If you want to buy a house never go with a financial adviser. Do business with a mortgage broker who doesn't' have 9 to 5 Monday to Friday schedule, because you will not be able to talk too them they are always busy.

Worse bank in Canada, customer service is bad, they never help with issues you have, they take ur money every chance they get, i would strongly suggest if you have this bank keep a close eye on ur app this fokes like to make small charges here and there for no reason

The worst customer service I have ever experienced, the lady who were on the desk was so rude and didn’t answer my question. Happened on April-1-2020 around 2: 40 pm, all I wanted to pay my balance in CC. Never go back to this location and hope someone gonna address my issue

If I could put half a star I would. I went to this branch, because customer service advised to go to any branch. My husband passed away and I need to finalize his information. I went to the branch, the financial advisor NEVER came out to see me and express his condolences, he kept sending his secretary back and forth to ask his questions. He was suppose to call me, here I am 1 week later, I tried to call him several times, he never called me back. His name is Billy Chun Leung Lam, Mutual Fund Representative at Winderemere branch. I am disgusted at how I was treated at my time of grieving and I was left with financial stuff I had no idea how to take care of. Worst ever experience of my life.

Pretty much echoing the reviews posted by the majority of other individuals. Impossible to get in touch with the branch on the phone. Great customer service while trying to get you as a client, but once you are a client the service goes seriously downhill. I will be exploring other banking options.

Maybe just bad timing, but took me over 40 mins to withdraw my money, it is unacceptable.oh wait, and a $5 charge for taking money out from the saving account, and seems like no way to not incur (avoid) the cost.will switch bank

Windermere Branch! Terriable customer service! The stuff was so rude, and did not know what they were doing! Spent 40 mins to just book an appointment, and during the wait time, did not even tell the custermer, was extremely terriable and rude, and even just hang up the phone without finishing it. Are we begging you to have the business here! Rediculious! Minus stars, 1 star is even way too much for them!

Most trouble customer service,
I went to the branch and applied for a Line of Credit on Monday and they supposed to let me know the result in 3-4 days.after 4 days I emailed to the person who helped me to apply and she didn't responded.a day after that I left he a voice message and she didn't call me back.
I went to the branch and she said: she didn't have access to her computer during those days and she wasn't able to call me too.when I asked for my application result she said you need to wait for more 3-4 days and after 10 business days I'm still waiting for them to contact me!
They way they talk with customers is like customers needs them instead of Bank need customers!
I can't believe this poor customer service!
