To be clear this review is for the branch itself. Scotia as a company has been fine

Ever time I go here the tellers waste both our time lecturing me on one thing or another. Sometimes related to why I'm there and sometimes on unrelated things to do with how they think I should manage my money. I've also had them explain how my account works to me EVERY time I'm in. I'm a 30 year old woman who's had this account since I was 18. I know how it works.

Based on other exchanges I've seen I feel like it's an ageism thing. They are polite if you look like you are 40+ or dressed like a business professional but rude and judgemental if you look young or dress casual.

Eleanor was a very nosy teller and asked too many unnecessary questions regarding my account balance.

Worst bank ever to deal with. Don't go there. Employees don't follow through. You have to contact them after weeks of waiting to get answer they supposed & PROMISED to give within days.
Avoid headaches.don't use Scotiabank

No staff in this branch seems to care about customers. There is zero respect for existing customers. I emailed my financial advisor 5 times and called and left 3 tele message at the branch general mailbox, NO ONE SEEMES TO CARE TO CALL ME BACK OR REPLY TO MY EMAILS.
ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED & DISSATISFIED with Ranchland branch. I am seriously considering to move all my investments to another bank who respects and cares about their customer.

I am a business manager, the fact this bank has no business counter is insane. Was in line for 30min, 2 tellers on, 1 walking around because she cant log into a computer, as one guy left for lunch (really? Cant get him to step on the floor to log out?). 8 people in a line all the way out the door. Save the time and drive to a different location.

Worsted service I've ever had with a bank. Trying to get a credit card.got the run around for 3 weeks. Now that it's in i have to set up an appointment to pick up a Credit card. I have a job and their not open any hours I'm off. You try to call the branch to speak with someone and your rerouted to who knows where and sit on hold for ever. Brutal. I will be changing my banking very soon to someone else after over 40 years with Scotiabank.

I waited in line to pay a bill at Scotiabank Crowfoot this afternoon and was not impressed when a man behind me moved ahead of me in line and was looked after by the teller. I will no longer bank at this branch.

Terrible Customer Service, Apparent Lack of Staff Training, Rude Assistant Manager. MANY Issues Over the Years.
Ex. #1: First Visit To Branch - Was talked into signing up for a Credit card. Asked about the extra cost for a secondary card for my husband and was told there was NO fee for that. Get my first bill and THERE'S A CHARGE for the extra card.
Ex. #2: Mortgage Renewal #1 - We had a few questions for the advisor, and she wasn't really able to answer with confidence, which made us uneasy. After double asking and making sure all was ok, we agreed on a rate, signed the papers and were on our way. A few days later, we get a voicemail from her saying that WE OWE $1200? !? ! We were like, what for, this is the first we've heard of this? I still to this day do not understand why?
Ex. #3: Discontinued Mortgage Prepayments - I had questions about why our automatic scheduled prepayments were being discontinued as per a letter I had received. I emailed and left voicemails for the advisor numerous times over a few weeks and finally got an email back saying, that they've cut their budget at the branch so they aren't doing it anymore. I had just spoken to the main Scotiabank call centre and they assured me that they're still doing prepayments, so again, not sure why just this branch was saying this.
Ex. #4: Mortgage Renewal #2 - Was contacted by the advisor (a different one than the first renewal) to set up an appt to renew our mortgage. I contacted her back with my availability and didn't hear back. I tried again the following week and got an out of office reply which read that she's no longer at that branch and to email the manager going forward, which I did. I never heard back, ever.
Ex. #5 - Went in to get a cheque certified as a third party. I've done this many times for the business I work for at other banks with no issue - 10 minutes and it's done. I was standing at the teller for AN HOUR. They ended up taking over 30K out of MY personal account for some reason (instead of the cheque writers account). Luckily before I left the counter I noticed my balance on my receipt was overdrawn tens of thousands and brought it to their attention. Long story short, I asked if there was any chance they could waive the certify chq fee since it was a total (and avoidable on their part) run around (lack of staff training). At this point I'm stressing that the cheque may not actually be certified (did they do it right this time?), I'm going to have some crazy overdraft fees, and my account is minus $30K? !? The assistant manager, JAVEED MERCHANT came over and was super RUDE, saying, "absolutely not" and "the system doesn't allow us to change or waive the fees", which was A BLATANT LIE and beyond terrible customer service. Looking forward to my mortgage term ending here so I never have to deal with this place again. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS HERE.

While I see there have been a number of less-than-positive reviews of this location, I have to say that this has not been my experience. Our financial advisor, R. M, has been very responsive and offers valuable feedback and suggestions going the extra mile to try to get us great rates etc. He's always responded to my email in a reasonable period of time, and his timeliness with meetings has been great. He's always friendly, jovial, and willing to explain concepts, and very professional and respectful at the same time. He also takes time to show interest and get to know us personally beyond just going through the financial numbers and policies. The manager has also chosen to meet with us a few times, just to introduce himself, offer some ideas, and be friendly too. In my experience, the staff, in general, are very friendly, willing to listen, and want to help out. I certainly have no complaints.

Not a great branch for expecting good customer service, and if you are thinking of taking it to the manager, he is not much of help. Very very arrogant and unprofessional as if he is doing us a favor by meeting us.

The branch manager at this location has the most horrible customer service I've ever dealt with.

This branch must be a training center because it is by FAR the worst institution I have ever dealt with. It was honestly amazing how incompetent the employees there were while trying to open a personal and business account. I highly recommend avoiding this branch at all costs.

Stephanie at the front counter was friendly, professional and honest. She used care and skill explaining my banking and credit options. Great experience!

Worst customer service ever! I opened new account with them about 7 month ago! Must receive 300$ dollars as bowens! And until now I received nothing! And every time ask them to see what happened for the 300$ bucks! They start saying sorry! We will solve this problem for you! Looks nobody cares!

That's why I'll close my premier account and get my money back 4000$ bucks!

Absolutely the worst Scotia bank branch I’ve ever been too! I’m completely offended and let down from this branch. The lady at the till went out of her way to make sure my experience was horrid. The branch manager even has gone so far above to prove the lack of professionalism at this location. Scotiabank should be ashamed of this location.

This in regards to the service we received from Nariman E.

I'd been corresponding with her by email about a specific product. When we went to the bank to sign the papers she said what we wanted wasn't available and then pitched us two other options that would have cost us more money in the long run.

When I called her out on it she said she hadn't lied but had simply not told me that what I wanted wasn't available. Unbelievable. I asked to speak to a manager and she came back with a business card saying all the managers were on vacation. Classy.

Serious lack of ethics and morals, especially from Nari. We'll be moving all of our business over to a different bank. Thanks!

I had a very bad experience at this bank today. I lost my debit card last night and I went into Scotiabank around 3: 30 PM to get a new debit card. They claimed my mothers maiden name didn't match up. The funny part is, my moms last name has never changed. So, they have the wrong information which is very unprofessional on their part. The first lady I talked to was very nice and tried to do everything she could to help me. I then talked to a second lady. An older lady with glasses, brown hair about shoulder length. She was very rude, unprofessional, and she did not seem like she wanted to help me at all. She acted like she did not want to be there and that I was an inconvenience for her. They wouldn't give me a debit card because they said none of my information matched up, when they have the wrong info which is somehow my problem. I have got three new debit cards before and never had an issue. I showed a valid passport and proof that I have access to my online banking, yet they still would not give me a card, which doesn't make any sense because I showed her I had the capability to my online banking and to e transfer all of my funds if I wanted to. They then said I have to call a number and get a debit card mailed to me which can take up to a week. So somehow they can validate my ID better over the phone rather than in person showing them a valid passport. So, I then had to e transfer money to my girlfriend and had to use her debit card to take it out which is a huge inconvenience. There is a difference between protecting somebodies bank account and using a flawed system that majorly inconveniences customers. I have been a lifelong customer of Scotiabank but, I am now changing banks due to this horrific incident at this branch. The second lady said she would give me $50 to get by for the weekend but she didn't even end up doing that.
