Tried to take $5000 out of my own account for an emergency and the teller said we can’t take it out. I had my ID present as well with my bank card. Teller then asked around and took out only $3000 in big bills and said go the atm for the rest. This is not the safest area in Edmonton and the ATM spit the remaining $2000 in small bills as there was no big denominations left in both ATMs available. This branch is in a sketchy area. Thanks for thinking about safety Scotia.

Hello, I am Manpreet, came on 1st of March to open my business account. I have an appointment with collen (branch manager). She explain me each and every this in detail regarding my account. I am very thankful to her to explain me everything in easy way.

I'm extremely disappointed at this branch location. The tellers are extremely rude and slow. They come up excuses to not give you any service. The clerks tones is very unpleasant and has no source of professionalism. The teller was speaking to me has if she is speaking to her teenager friends at a party. Very very rude.

The branch manager thought she was running a variety store yelling and screaming at everything and everyone. The worst part was the whole staff was yelling in Indian language and laughing. This is Canada not India - have some respect on the ground you walk on and speak English, at a English serving bank. I'm no where near rasict but this is common sense.

I definitely will be closing my Scotiabank account today immediately at another branch. The service I received here was beyond rude and disgusting. Shame on Scotiabank for hiring cheap uneducated unpleasant unprofessional people, that don't even speak English.

I've reported all the workers to Scotiabank headquarters also.

The scary part is, as soon as I left the branch. I received a phone call from India & it was a scam artist, my phone number is brand new and only Scotiabank has it. This is a clear Indication of Scotiabank branch has been breched and all clients information data is being sent to someone in India, to scam Canadian citizens. I've reported this also to the correct authorities & an investigation will be commenced.

Look how many bad reviews this place has. Stay away from this branch it has corruption written all over it.

Shame on you Scotiabank - your a mess Scotiabank get yourself together.

Everytime I come in there's only 2 tellers and a long line. As a person with disabilities, standing and waiting in line for 25mins is unacceptable. I dread having to go to this location as the long waits flare up my back and feet, which puts me on bed rest for the rest of the day. Please hire more tellers.

(Dissapointed, DON'T feel safe putting YOUR money HERE!)

Me and my family have been banking with scotia for years but recently they placed a $5 pay per use fee on my account making changes without my consent.

After having a meeting with a financial advisor and calculating my loss of hundreds of dollars aswell (as changing my account back to its original singular monthly rate.) They agreed to refund me the money.

Several weeks had past I went in to inquire why they hadn't returned the money they took out of my account by making changes without my consent.

They told me they would speak with the higher ups and call me back. They never called returned my call, nor my money.

Shocked and appalled and feel that my money isn't safe at this bank.

Leaving this review because scotia has neglected all other communication.

Super slow! I have had an account here for over seven years and they always hold my cheques no matter what. I am starting to think it's a race thing at this point.

Stay away from this brant the are very dishonest and liars i booked an appointment with financial adviser Aderonke adenugba a week prior to open checking account for my kid and the had the odacity to call me an hour before my appointment and cancelled very disappointed planned my whole week around this appointment took the day off work but the don’t care……this is huge problem with this huge institutions they nickel and dime poor hard working Canadians making billions every quarter becoming cocky and too big to fail. Thank god the world is changing lots of options out there. I am definitely looking into tangerine and wealth simple it’s about time all of us Canadians band together and show this idiots who is boss and that we have options….

Usually pretty good here. I only had a few mishaps but otherwise they are ok. They are fairly friendly and are helpful. Only had 1 issue on a cheque they held a week when I deposited the same cheque’s
Before without a issue and no hold. I have had a bounced cheque in 25 years.

This branch, does not return phone calls, no matter who you leave a message for. If your financially suffering because of COVID, don’t expect any help from this branch, I’ve been waiting on this branch to communicate with I need them to communicate with for over a month and a half, my wife has even left messages for every single branch advisor here, and no one has returned a phone call. Ridiculous that these are the people we need help from.

Went there today to use the bank machines only and doors were locked. No notification! Very poor customer service!

I have dealt at this branch for sometime now and since day one have found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and knowledgable.

Bank was supposed to close at 4 pm, but they closed It 20 minutes early. I took a bus to come at time before 4 pm and it was closed. This is a disappointment.

Stay away from this place they lie to your face and don't care. I opened up a bank account and asked if my government cheques would be held. I was told as long as I came in it would be fine. Sure enough I went right out and cashed the cheque. Fast forward 2 weeks and I go in and suddenly they now hold it for a week. Right when rent Is due. Then they argue with me saying they never cashed a cheque for me so I tell them how was it possible to deposit my cheque and spend 500 that same day if my cheque was held. They still said they never cashed the cheque even when I showed them my transactions. Never deal with this bank. They lie to get your business then back paddle everything they promised.
