Sentinel Storage - Edmonton Central

I've had a blasting experience with Sentinel Storage. Every member of the staff was beyond amazing in helping me when I had a problem with my storage unit. They were second to none in their service and personal help. I highly recommend them for any storage needs, and I will always be using their tremendous service.

During my transit at Edmonton Alberta Canada I found this gem exceeding all my expectations it is none other than Sentinel Storage located at 11444 119 St NW Edmonton AB T5G 2X6 extremely helpful and friendly staff entire Storage facility itself nice & clean attention to detail safe and secured property open access to any size vehicle including commercial tractor with 53' trailer which could easily fits on their docks. I was fortunate enough to find this as a full service storage facility which certainly met my requirements. Easy access from all directions located minutes away from the heart of downtown Edmonton yet in a quiet mixed neighborhood both residential & commercial closer to many important amenities such as U Haul, Canadian Tire, Gas Stations, Hotels, Restaurants etc, if I'm not mistaken this is the second largest Sentinel Storage in Edmonton area with many added features such as hight adjustable commercial type docks temperature controlled units with many different sizes all with rollup type fully covered doors with padlock lever has adequate lighting, live surveillance video cameras, washrooms, freight elevator for upper level Storages, staircase, several in-house trolleys & dollies but they had only one pallet jack I wish they had at least two (recommend a second one) reasonable & affordable prices compared to other few Storages in the area expensive & less facilities, I highly recommend Sentinel Storage at 11444 119 St Edmonton AB. Once again thank you for providing me a Storage facility that suits my needs & budget in timely manner I look forward for my further needs with Sentinel.

I am adding more feedback for my second visit to Sentinal storage. The service for my first my was phenomenal. The service for my second visit positively blew my mind!

So easy to contract and fill. Love this facility. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean, well managed units and common areas, loading and unloading bays are accessible and plentiful.palettes and hydraulic lifts and palette jack, carts to move belongings, easy to use entry procedure. So we'll designed.
One tiny issue, hallways are barely wide enough for pallets on pallet jack, but we managed to get it done so no real big deal. Wonderful experience.

I lost everything I own here after my unit got broken into. I also accidentally locked my keys in the unit early on and the staff were very rude to me about it. When I got an email that the lock was found cut, they wouldn't let me look at the unit because I was waiting for my I. D to be replaced (they had my I. D on file anyway) and they wouldn't even email me a picture so I could see what was left. I paid them thousands of dollars over two years in rent and exorbitant late fees just to have them auction off my stuff, most of which was probably already stolen. No reimbursement because I wasn't able to afford an extra fee for insurance. Terrible company, terrible staff and if I could give less than one star I would.

Well it was well kept. Although the way they deal with customers felt almost as if I was being ruled by junior high kids running the elementary kids. Felt like a was deemed a dummy.

This was my first experience with storage service. Patricia was very friendly to help me familiarize the building layout and infrastructure usage. The 5'×5' space looked bigger than I expected because of the tall ceiling. Hope the deal can still work after my first three months.

Hours listed are not accurate. Office is not open until 8pm as it says. I arrived at 6pm to find everything locked up and no one answering the phone. I came from far out of town.very frustrating. The place itself is open to tenants until 11pm daily.but if you need somebody working here come before 5pm

The staff at this local location are as helpful as they can be for sure! The building itself brings a few challenges with a freight elevator not for transporting people, limited number of overhead doors for customer use from outside, and no garbage facilities on site. The office hours are very constricting as they mimic typical working hours so people with full-time work may find it challenging to get in if they need anything from the staff. The fact that the bathrooms are out of service 'due to covid' make it very hard to take care of loading and unloading, especially if you bring kids, etc. If booking using the call centre, give yourself roughly 45 minutes as it is not a quick process. Having said all that, I can't say enough how helpful the local staff are at every turn.

On the plus side, all my stuff is very clean and without damage after more than 3 years of storage ie.no dust, nor water, ants/mice/rats damage. On the minus side, carts are a bit hard to find and no garbage bins are available on site.

I ended up in a bit of a bind and needed to put some things into storage. I've used Sentinel Storage years ago and it was a very good experience. So I ended up calling their 800 number and ended up talking to an agent (from another part of Canada). I said I would need a small storage locker, we discussed prices and promotions (from the web site). After a few minutes I agreed on a storage unit. The agent also suggested I wait for a phone call from the office staff (from this location), then come in and do the paperwork, he also mentioned to talk to the staff about additional promotions (from this location). So we agreed on a price. So far so good! The next day (no phone call). I try calling the location (no answer). So I drove to the site office. I went inside to finalize everything. This is where everything changed. I asked why no one called me (as promised the day before on the phone). I asked why no one answered the phone (earlier when I called). No reply! So I mentioned that I already booked a storage room on the phone and just wanted to finalize everything and also book the moving van (so I could get everything to the location). All of a sudden the lady tells me that if I use the moving van I have to pay a higher price for the storage room. I ask why the sudden price change? She explains that the person I talked to was not from that city or location and may not now all the policies, procedures and prices. I mentioned that I also got the price from their online site. She insisted that she was right and the price she quoted me was the correct price. As I mentioned before, I was in a bind and had no time to go around to other storage facilities. So I went ahead and got the storage unit (higher price than originally quoted).
What I think really happened, the lady (I dealt with) must be on commission (gets higher pay if she uses a different fee schedule or if she cancelled my original booking and redid it, so she gets credited for accepting a new booking). Anything discussed over the phone the day before was no longer valid.
Anyways, be very careful. Don't go through the same process I had. They will advertise promotions on their website. Then try to upsell you at the location.
On a side note, I never did see the same lady (I dealt with). All interactions with other facility staff were very good. Just be very careful with the booking process at this location.

Staff were rude to me in store, the contract isn't legitimate (I'm being charged at an earlier date every month) and they are threatening to put my unit up for auction early.late fees are excessive and I was charged an additional month lien fee on top of the late fees that are stated in the agreement. I would recommend any other storage facility.

Unreasonably high fees, made to expose all my belongings to the employees, some extremely valuable.i felt harrassed by employees, while attempting to organize the unit they came 4 times in less than a 3 hour duration to inquire about the door and why the door was half open, that it needed to be open all the way. Incurring late fees every couple days in the excess of hundreds of dollars in less than 25 days, when unforeseen circumstances occur. I will not be renting from this company ever again. And would not recommend to anyone short or long term.

Huge Edit: After 6 months my roommate who had their items in storage at this sentinel storage, had his car stolen from work, (another story) and his keys were attached for the locker. They were told immediately, after the car was stolen, and they put one of their locks on it and have not let him into the locker in over 2 years and they still will not let my roommate get into his locker to get his stuff out, and are still charging him the monthly fee. After a long time stalling in paying for the locker, on our part to protest them not letting us at the locker, they have and are putting up the locker for auction. They have already gone in and inventoried everything and have probably taken out what they wanted.
WE WILL NEVER DEAL WITH SENTINEL STORAGE EVER AGAIN.

The staff was very organized and professional. I have not moved for 50 years so was finding the experience very intimidating however the staff made me feel very comfortable and were very helpful.

Extremely friendly, especially the trainee I didn't catch her name but she did an amazing job. Had a great experience would recommend this place to anyone

Unlike other storage places, this one has its units indoors. There’s plenty of carts on hand to make moving things in/out that much easier.

The lifts at the loading area and the freight elevator all seem to be well-maintained. I have never experienced any equipment issues here.

If you need to store any of your possessions for an extended period of time, I would highly suggest checking out this particular Sentinel location.

Clean facility, friendly staff, the rate increase bothered me. Said it was for security purposes. Yes the doors are pass code entry, but it was like to that when I moved my stuff there. I mean if use sentinel again if I had too

The staff in the West side storage were very supportive. I had to book a unit in advance from another city and Conny and Amanda were very nice and cooperative with paperwork, unit set up, and payment processes! Nice place to deal with.

I do not recommend. My rates have gone up over 40% of the original price I agreed upon 4 years ago. The office is never open and now they don't have carts or trollies to load and unload with. I called last year during one of the price hikes and no one could/would The gave me the number to answer why the price kept rising. I was provided with a number to another office and left a message. The only response I got was them trying to sell me a unit at that location. Great service.

I visited this location to rent a storage that I needed for 3 moths, Nikki and Eden gave me a tour and they helped me for my need, the facility is clean, secure and easy to access and they have reasonable price. Very friendly and professional staff and I am happy the service I have recevied I will definitely recommended this place for others and thank you so much.

Bad first impression of this facility. I came to sign my unit lease and the doors were locked. No sign of life and the lights were off. After a half hour wait, along with a couple of phone calls, they eventually showed up with a bunch of excuses as to why they were not there. The facility itself is ancient and has a creepy feel about it. The staff person that showed me around told me that the loading bay lifts bay do not work and that I would need to lift my items onto the platform. This information was not correct since I did figure out how to make them work; but not until after the second load. However, the lifts are old, slow and I got the feeling that they don't have much life left in them. Plus, operating and loading the lifts in minus 15 degrees is not much fun. If you want to rent here, lower your expectations and, if it is winter, wear lots of warm clothes. This is not a modern facility.

Moving is already stressful enough, John and Nikki was absolutely fantastic. He made things so easy and painless to rent a unit.and it made my moving journey so much smoother.

I happen to think that the customer service from the fellow who acting Manager while is away on holidays is completely unprofessional. He needs to learn how respect people more. He was very rude over the phone yesterday, and I can't wait to pay my storage tomorrow and get my stuff out of their facility for good! Thanks to him I will NEVER use them again nor will I recommend Sentinel in the future to anyone else.

There are people living within the basement of this facility. Buying groceries bring in plates forks and buming smokes and lighter from us in the basement. Never went back.

Female staff is rude and not reasonable to deal with, Threats to cut off our lock with the first month didnt help.

Your not allowed to pay towards your account early either.

Smell of must/mold gave me headaches.
Consulted a lawyer on late fees and unethical practices.

Eventually we gave the last of our stuff up for them to sell so we didnt have to return to the drama.

To much drama, avoid this place and or beware in advance.

I used Sentinel Storage at 11444-119St. Edm.for 3 years and it was very good. You have access anytime you like, it is very clean and organized. They have everything you need at the site to make things convenient as well as a loading dock for large trucks. You can't go wrong here!

Constant billing errors that they try to blame on the customer.

Spare yourself and deal elsewhere.

One the worst places I've ever had to give my businesses to. Billing mistakes, not returning calls or emails, locking out my account (that was not negligent on my part), unlocking it only to leave the physical padlock on the unit thereafter, unorganized, haggard, spacey staff.

Couldn't get my "exit" out properly either despite me informing both the call center and a local staff member. Sure enough, an overdue account voice-mail was left after I'd vacated. I had to call. And then I was sent my Exit Survey 3 times in a period of 10 minutes. These people are barely capable.
