This is the worst Sephora in Edmonton. I try my best to stay away from writing bad reviews but it is fair to share this story.

My mother (who is ESL) was trying to return a facial product that she had purchased for my younger brother. This product was roughly $95 and it caused my brother's skin to have rashes and redness. They had this product for less than a week and he had used it twice. When my mother tried to return they told her that since there was LESS THAN 50% in the bottle, they couldn't take it back. THERE WAS CLEARLY MORE THAN 50% in the bottle, most of the time Sephora doesn't fill all the bottles to the very top, AND it caused skin problems for my younger brother.

I guess it is fair to say that this location has the worst customer service. I would avoid the Kingsway Sephora to anyone else trying to return any product.

Went into this store two times within one week.the first time I was in there for roughly 20-30 minutes trying to find a birthday gift for a friend. The store was packed but the security guard decided to stare me down the entire time I was there. I would move into a corner and he would follow just to look at what I was doing. I understand this store isn't in the best area and theft happens often but it is completely disrespectful and ruins the customers experience by making them feel like they are on probation. I spoke to the cashier about it and she said thank you for the feedback.

Today I went in again to grab another gift and while the lady was scanning my items she missed one and started placing them in the bag. She asked me if anyone helped me and I said sorry you forgot to scan this item (keep in mind she was staring around the store the entire time she was scanning so it looked like she wasn't even paying attention to what she was doing). She rolls her eyes back and lets out a dramatic sigh and says "did anyone help you today? " I said no one helped me and she finishes the rest of the transaction without a word.

I have been to many Sephora locations, this one by far has never failed to have the most upsetting workers. I will always take the extra drive to go to West Edmonton Mall just so that I don't have to deal with these miserable souls. Maybe if you see a customer in your store for 20 minutes ask them if they need help rather than staring them down as if they're plotting a heist? Or if a customer says you forgot to scan something reassure them that you either forgot to do it or you will do it after instead of ignoring them and finishing the transaction like you are being held hostage? I don't understand how this location functions.one guy thinks your stealing if you touch an item and the other is reconsidering her career because you want to make sure she didn't forget an item. Save yourself the mental headache and either go to WEM or shop online.

Worst Sephora in Edmonton. Firstly, I can rarely find the product i am looking for here. Secondly, the staff are always rude and not helpful.
Moving forward, I am choosing not to go to this store. I will either order online or go to a different location.

Worst Sephora in town! Just go to Southgate or WEM! I didn’t know that when I enter the store, I need to be bodychekced by the greeting girl (Sep 5th) at the door And no one would offer help in this store but the other Sephoras in town are definitely nicer. I wrote down the date because the other girl greeting me on Sep 2nd was nice. She was the only one who would tell me where the product I was looking for is located. But today is some new experience.

Helpful and friendly staff. Found some of what I was looking for, but a lot of items were either out of stock, or simply not sold at this location which is a bit disappointing. This is a smaller Sephora though, so that’s expected. Good diversity of staff. Just wished they carried more options! Will return as it’s close to my home.

Arrived for a make-up appointment (early) and notified the employee that I came prepared for my afternoon appointment with a bare-face, but had my normal serums & sunscreen on from the AM. Did not go well for the make up artist. Not only was she very unfamiliar with this, but she had to ask for help. How do you get ready in the morning? They selected a primer to put over my sunscreen and foundation. My normal brand was not sold at this store because they are a “small store”. My shades and complementary colours were not prepared, and a lot of time was wasted walking back and forth “finding” items. You have my profile & I called to confirm the event, a lot of this could have been avoided. Fast forward, we’re about 20 mins in to sitting down and my face is peeling - as I said it would from the foundation selected and we’re basically forced to start over - we’re 30 minutes into me sitting down and I don’t have my face completed. What was concerning was the fact that I’m the one who has to advocate for the changes, when I fully booked this service for an expert. I booked the 60 minute package, and specifically said I wanted the focus to be contouring. I even called to make sure they knew this & why I was getting my makeup done. At the beginning I had requested fake eyelashes, but because of the time constraints I said just to skip them… does this mean I can still get mascara? Nope. I also said I wanted simple eyes, natural and classic for a day look. I very clearly said no sparkles - because of the photos. I have large green eyes, she used a red-ish brown eyeshadow and when she showed me in the mirror I looked like I had two red eyes! Since when is this a complementing colour? I was panicking at this point. I asked if she could fix them, she said yes, with sparkles! Sparkles! Why? ! I booked this make up appointment for my grad photos and when she stopped and said were done I almost cried. I actually didn’t know if I should even pay for my make-up. I left Sephora with my brows untouched (thank god they’re micro-bladed), no mascara, no lips, no bronzer. I sat in the back of my Uber trying to apply mascara, and apply concealer because I still had patches where she missed and red spots showing!

*I wrote this review the day after and felt it was maybe a one off, but my grad photos came in the mail today and there is absolutely no way I should have paid for this make up appointment. No contouring whatsoever, I’m one solid colour (foundation) with a very red/orange based blush for my cheeks. You literally only focus on my nose & forehead … largest objects which should have been made to appear slimmer… I look like I’m strung out on drugs, pale washed out skin & reddish eyes.

For the record, I did notify them that I have sensitive skin & I specifically only use medical grade skin care (ZO Skin) and high quality products (Guerlain, Channel, Dior).

2/5 because the employee doing the make up was polite and respectful… perhaps new, which should have been better observed or disclosed prior.

Went in to exchange a gift I got for my birthday. Had everything in original packaging and receipt. I knew what I was looking for and the girl who helped me although friendly had zero knowledge of the products carried in the store.
A basic eyeshadow palette wasnt easy to find for her.
I felt as though the store had nothing to offer me. They made it seem I could only exchange as I didn't have the original card used to pay but didn't offer just store credit either.
The girl at the till kept asking if I use or opened the product which I didn't and struggled to open. It to check although I told her no multiple times. Walked out with a few things I don't think I even want. So very frustrated and I ended up ordering what I really wanted online

This is the second time I bought a 10ml bottle of perfume. The first bottle that I broke I just rolled my eyes and I let the situation go. But 2 times in a row is like, maybe make the bottles a little bit thicker.

Went to this location with my 15 year old daughter. There were 2 girls right at the front. Both looked at us and continued with their conversation. No greeting or even a smile. Walked around for at least 20 mins. Not one person asked if we needed help or even said hi. It wasn’t busy in there either as it was pretty much as soon as it opened. Customer service training should be provided. I also want to add a reminder to the girls that work there that they are not better than anyone else as that is how they come across.

Sephora unfortunately has products that I conveniently want … without the wait of ordering on line. The return policy is terrible. I bought items on a gift card… got receipt through paper … bad on me… lost it … wanted to get in store credit… even with them looking it up.on my Sephora account they couldn’t do a thing.
? Crazy to me. Lost customer over a $25.00 mascara.
I will no longer shop here or recommend anyone else does.
You can get most products from other sources no problem. Don’t waste your time of money.

I was at Kingsway Sephora yesterday and was seriously unimpressed with the service and the cleanliness of the particular brand I was looking at. I was a previous brand rep so I understand the standards and responsibilities of Sephora staff, and they did not meet it. I came in and the Bare minerals station was an absolute mess and half of the colours they used to have they don’t anymore. I found one that matched me, so I found a girl to help me find what I was looking for. She tried but she was lacking knowledge and perhaps she wasn’t ready to be on the sales floor yet. She couldn’t find it and didn’t offer to match me and when she found that my brand discontinued the one I found, I asked her to find someone else to help. The team leader came over, looking like she just woke up, no makeup hair not brushed, unimpressed. The team lead was wondering around and I waited with nobody showing up. As I’m leaving she says try online. Cool, nice suggestion. The entire experience left me not ever wanting to return to that location. This store needs some work, sorry.

I only ever go in there for two specific items and only if I have to or if I can’t find the items I want elsewhere. Sephora is my last resort store. It’s such an uncomfortable place to go into, the staff is rude and I’m constantly followed around the store, which I understand they don’t want people stealing, but it’s way overboard the the point where I feel stalked, so I will never browse at any other products, even though I’d love to. I go in and grab my one or two items and get out as quick as possible.

I don't use make up that much but I love the perfumes available at this store. The staff were very nice and helped me choose the right fragrance. They were prompt and sweet. It made me comfortable buying perfumes at their store. Their products were of high-quality so expect that some of their products and their prices were not that really affordable.

Employees are usually really nice & helpful, but disappointing they don’t carry the philosophy skin care line anymore at this location, Would be nice if there was an email or something sent out to customers to let them know what they’ll no longer be carrying so no one drives to this location for nothing.

Walked into this store yesterday looking for something specific (the ordinary company). I was unable to find it, so I walked up and down the aisles to search harder. Meanwhile not a staff member approached me to offer assistance, all were up against walls two by two talking to each other. When asking the cashier she was unable to fully direct me, she just pointed and said “somewhere over there”.
Never have I ever been in a Sephora where I wasn’t greeted, offered assistance or anything. Even my 11 year old was taken back by how unhelpful the staff was. I’ll be saving my sephora shopping for Southgate from now on, they are always more than helpful amd friendly.

My friend was racially profiled at this location and it was disgusting. The staff were rude and short with her and conveniently when her Caucasian mother came to intervene their attitudes changed and the store manager’s explanation was “given the area we have to be careful with certain types of populations that come into the store”. All she was trying to do was inquire about a gift card that had been compromised.

My girlfriend went to get her make up done here and she was not happy with the work that was done. She was constantly being up sold on products and items instead of them being worried about doing her make-up. The make up application was horrible and she got lashes and they fell off 1 hour after. She emailed them after and got no response or comments back. Horrible service, do not get your make up done here!

Customer service is either non-existent or absolutely horrible here. Associates will argue with you, berate you, and make you feel as though your business is not welcome. Save yourself the headache and drive to one of their other locations.

Anyone can touch anything, they don’t disinfect the products or the till area. They don’t even acknowledge customers. I think the only nice one was the lady that was counting people coming in.

Purchased something online in person at this location. Confirmed address with the lady everything was right. Now it's nearly month and a half later and my package is still up in the air? Quite upset that I was reassured by the ladies it would be delivered to my home.if I knew they use a terrible shipping service I would have ordered it to the store and picked up in person.now I'm waiting on customer service for them to decide when I get my refund as they want the products to be shipped back.when I don't even know where where are as my shipping tracker says it's "undeliverable "

I'm not share why there are so many negative reviews stating that customer service was rude. In the two minutes I walked through the store, I was greeted and offered assistance by THREE lovely ladies. One stopped to ensure I knew that the brand I was looking at was discontinuing soon, which was very helpful information! In the end, I was only there to do a return, which a fourth employee processed for me without issue, exuding warmth and friendliness throughout our entire interaction. No complaints with this store whatsoever!

Was looking for help with one product but every associate on the floor just avoided eye contact. Had everyone running over to me in a huff when I tested out a sunscreen on the back of my had because you can’t test anything during covid. Don’t think that rubbing a dab of product on the back of your hand will give you covid but whatever. Felt very rushed to get out of the store even though there were no people waiting in line to get in, wasn’t even offered samples or to use my points on anything. Take the extra 20 minute drive and go to the WEM location, they are so lovely.

Lots of staff on the floor but absolutely no one willing to help or check if you need anything. I don't understand I started swatching products in front of multiple staff and no one said anything BUT as I moved to another part of the store I was told no swatching due to covid. Its understandable but the lady that came up to me was very rude about it. Maybe they should be taking the samples off the shelf then if you aren't allowed to test them? I was also given no samples of anything and no help in shade matching. I am disappointed in this location it used to be my favorite but with the pricing not being able to try things out and unfriendly staff as well as not as much selection I will be doing my shopping online or at south common

Great experience. I came in and was helped immediately and they allowed me to choose the products I felt was best for me. I did not feel like I was pressured, they also reminded me of my points so that I could get some of my purchases for free.

UPDATE: Went in last week and the lady (in 40s, short hair) helping me was SO loud and condescending. Like bullhorn loud. She yells at other staff while you're trying to ask questions. And then. The lineup was 12 people long as they were doing two large returns that took more than 15 mins. Finally, they called someone else to the front.

Went to Sephora to get color matched for a foundation. They advised that the testers are not to be touched and a rep could help if I had any questions.i am totally okay with respecting that rule however I don't think I should have to wait upwards of 15 Minutes to be helped by someone.
I asked the girl twice at the front door and she said it's going to be a couple minutes, she then tried to flag another staff member down for me but she snapped that she was on the phone.
15 minutes later I was able to catch the attention of an employee after she was wrapping up with another client.
She was so amazing and so helpful and even helped me by checking me out in a way shorter line which was great after waiting so long.
All in all, could be staffed better but the girl that helped me saved the experience from getting a 1 star from me.

Always love going in to Sephora. The staff there are so friendly and willing to help. Or if you'd prefer to shop without help they're totally good with leaving you alone. The till staff are always friendly and give samples out so easily so you can possibly find some new products to use.

I went into Sephora to return a product I wasn't happy with. Everything seemed fine until I went to get a sample from a man working there who after giving me the sample went back to the till area and then said something obviously rude to the girl I did my return to as they both stared at me at the exact same time and then looked away fast. The girl I returned my purchase to was standing at the door on my way out and turned her head and didn't even look at me. Me and my mom spend a lot of money here, we are VIB rouge and this is how they treat people who are pretty much paying their wages, as you wouldn't have a job without customers. VIB rouge or not, you shouldn't treat any customer disrespectfully. You're the one who ends up looking completely classless and ungrateful for your jobs that other people would gladly love to have.

I've been to this location numerous times hoping for a better outcome but it never happens. During my last visit I kept walking around looking for a sale associate for help and when I did find one that wasn't already occupied she put her hand up and said "not right now. " Save your time
(and clearly theirs) and go to any of the other Edmonton locations.

I came into sephora a bit nervous I was looking for a concealer to correct the black circles around my eyes. Suri the lady that works there made me feel very comfortable and also found a product that I love using it actually helps hide the dark circles and she showed me how to use it and I felt I was treated just like all of the other young girls that were in there at the time! I will definitely be back!
