I don’t usually care to write reviews, but as a loyal customer to this location, as well as someone who spends significant amounts of money here (rouge member), it’s hard to see the quality of service deteriorating at this location. I visited this location on Thursday, October 6th (around 5: 00pm), and multiple times within the months prior. Despite having numerous sales associates on the floor, it was hard to get assistance. When I managed to, the associate insisted on stopping and spraying herself down in perfume before coming towards me to help. I had asked her with help seeing if there was more stock for a matte eye liner I was looking for. It seemed as though she was struggling to help and was confused with my question. Once she opened the drawers below she told me that it was not in stock. In the past, I’ve had more helpful employees offer to search their available stock from their phones, but had to request her to do this. She then told me the Lancôme eyeliner I was looking for was only available online. Perhaps it was sold out in store, but there was a tester on the floor for the product I was looking for, and I had purchased it a few weeks prior, so I know it’s not an online only product. I asked her if she had any recommendations for a similar product, to which she said that it’s a good quality product and there are not other products of the same quality, so no. I strolled one aisle over and found a Huda liner that is essentially the exact same. It seems as though the associates at this location are just in general less knowledgeable in regards to the products lately. I got the sense that she just couldn’t think of a basic matte liner suggestion, so she just said no. I’ve had a number of similar experiences at this location lately. I was told that the house of lashes glue was only available online in August at this location. I was at the Southgate location a few days later and asked about the HL glue, and the sales associate was surprised that someone told me that, as they had a massive stock of it. Overall, it seems as though better vetting needs to be done with hiring. The cashier was great, and previously I’ve had wonderful experiences at this location, but the service has been noticeably declining over the past few months.

I walked in looking for a new and improved skincare routine, I was helped here and there, but Noor really took the time to explain the products to me and address my skincare concerns. She also did a skin scan? With this new device it was so cool I’ve never had an experience like this before! I’ve been using the products she suggested for a couple weeks now and my skin has improved greatly! I will be coming back and hope to be helped by her again!

The product I was looking for was well stocked this time. However, when I asked about a product not there, I was told it was online only, which is fine as there are other products that also require online only. In the past, the girls have always asked if they could order it for me, and I always have them do it. This girl was rude and didn't offer to order it and blatantly said it was not her job and I had to do it myself. I'll keep going to Sephora, but it won't becsoon and probably a different location.

Walked in about 15 minutes to close and was assisted by Darlene. She was super friendly, never made us feel rushed, and helped colour match us with the little time we had left. Thanks to her we were able to find everything we needed before the store closed!

I loved the "weekly wow" discounts. The staff is friendly and I had someone to help out match my skin tone for the concealer. I had to wait a lot tho - didn't like that because I was in a rush.

The store was stocked and the staff is friendly.

Could find what I was looking for.

I went to get my eyebrows waxed at the brow bar today and I had the best experience! Liberty was very friendly and professional. She really took her time to make sure she didn't miss anything and she was very knowledgable about the process and was very attentive to my skin sensitivities. After my appointment she even took the time to colour match me with a new foundation and recommend some other products. I will definitely be back again!

If you plan on driving from out of town to splurge on beauty products at this location you are out of luck. I was easily gonna spend over $800 today problem was? There was absolutely no stocked products. I mean NONE I only left with 2 things out of the 12 I came to purchase. The staff weren’t very helpful and mostly walked around and avoided making eye contact with anyone no one asked if I needed help didn’t even have birthday gifts in stock. Won’t be returning to this location.

There’s a lot of testers that smelled off. They had gone rancid, when we told a staff member she told us that’s what they smelled like! I have one of the products at home that I tested in the store and it certainly doesn’t smell like rancid face cream.

I went to this location quite a few times but last 2 experiences were terrible. Girl named MAY is a bummer. Last time
I asked her few items they were pretty much out for everything which is understandable due to shipping nowadays but that girl has horrible attitude, here i am going to share my last 2 experiences. Sept 2 (2.30ish) i went there and she was helping me in a very weird way, i dont know why was she giving me those weird looks and my card declined for some reason and she wAs acting like i dont have money. I didnt say anything bought my stuff and left. Sept 11 (4ish) went there again. She was at the door she saw me entering with my 2 daughters instead of welcoming me (like other girls do always at entering) she told me be careful with the stroller, with a very awkward look again. Her gestures were not welcoming at all, she is a racist. I got really upset and i left. All i want to say is if you guys say this is your costumer service then i would like to go other sephora where sales person treat you so well. I wanted to bring this thing to manager’s attention but due to her behaviour i got so annoyed and also i didn’t want to deal with her negative energy. She need to work somewhere else, sephora is not for her as she doesn’t know what costumer service is all

The workers seem to have very little knowledge about products and seem like they are annoyed to help you. Asked for help picking out a product to suite my skin tone and the worker just stood by me saying I don’t know until I had to pick for myself even though I know nothing about makeup.

I got my makeup done by Devi, and she was so lovely and kind. She did my makeup wonderfully, and she cared and listened about how I wanted my look to turn out as she asked me if I wanted anything fixed and if I liked everything. The Sephora workers were all so lovely, and they all made my experience super memorable. Don’t hesitate to shop at this Sephora and get your makeup done here.

There were no staff to help you. Not that they didn't have enough staff, just that there was no one available and when one of rhe staff asked for someone to help me, no one came. That was disappointing. I usually shop here and it has been the case frequently.

And was helped by marissa (i think her name was, i really hope so) and she was AMAZING! The amount of knowledge she had on foundation was so good, i haven’t even seen YouTube makeup artists know as much as she does!
She helped me find the perfect foundation for my skin (i have weird pink undertones and she helped so much. Her makeup was also amazing and that defiantly showed how good she was with makeup!

(Writing this off my husband's account) Today I went to Sephora South Common, you can tell they were short staffed but nonetheless I was helped by associate Devi, she was super knowledgeable and helpful with me even though it was quite busy, she helped me find the right products and helped my daughter find some for herself as well, we’re both excited to try our new makeup and skincare, she also gave us both sample bags! And the cashier was helpful as well (didn’t get her name) I’ll definitely be shopping at this location again!

I am a Rouge at Sephora, I shop there often.
I asked for a sample of face cream, since that is my most frequent purchase, and the employee gave me a sample size smaller way smaller than a pea.

I didn’t notice until I got home and I was so excited to try the new product, I was so upset I just threw it out.
It wouldn’t apply to my whole face anyways.
Very upset. I do not look poor, and I had multiple items in my arm I was going to purchase.

It was just plain rude.

I usually shop online but I come here once in a while when I completely run out of something. I went into the store today 01/07/2022, to find some products. I had a hard time finding what I needed so I guess I was walking around looking suspicious or something. There were many associates working and one initially helped me find one of the products I needed but after that I was ignored completely. I walked around the store to find what I needed when the security guard, who was standing at the front of the store circled around me specifically, no one else in the store, and then went back to his spot at the front after I had got in line to pay. If these associates noticed me walking around looking for something why couldn’t they just come and help me instead of taking the time and effort to tell the security guard to follow me? Also, the cashier Devi was rude and had an attitude and never gave me my free bag of skincare samples even though I spent over $35. What a horrible group of people, they all need some better customer service skills.

The staff here are so friendly and understanding! I spent an hour getting items collected in my basket and i was comfortably browsing the store.i received a gift card for christmas from my employer that i was excited to use.upon arriving to the checkout counter, all my items were scanned in and i gave them my christmas giftcard to pay and to our surprise, the card had a $0 balance. The friendly gal at the till showed me that my gift card only had 12 of the required 16 digits on it and advised me that my employer may have unfortunately been scammed while purchasing bulk giftcards from another retailer (Safeway). Lesson learned, always purchase SEPHORA gift cards at SEPHORA only! I was thankful that they tried to help me retrieve the missing digits on the card as well as printed me a receipt stating the balance was $0.my employer did rectify the gift cards and I happily returned and spent a portion of my card at this location.

I just went in to pick up my online order and what should have taken all of 30 seconds ended up taking almost 10 minutes- largely because one worker (she suggested she was a member of management- she said she needed to call "another" management team member- but I didn't catch her name) blew me off TWICE.

I went to the counter and, while the cashier was helping someone else, she was wrapping up another purchase. She finished first, said the other girl would help me, and left- even though there was a huge line behind me! Then I was redirected to the pickup line and she was there again, helping someone else. Then she got to me and LEFT AGAIN. Literally all she had to do was SCAN A BARCODE. I HAD ALREADY PAID. They also forgot my samples, but that's neither here nor there.

I frequent this location lot and I have never been treated this badly before. I always went to SouthCommon instead of Southgate because I thought the service was better, but I guess I was wrong. Horrendous customer service from this employee. If I had gotten her name, I would 100% be calling her out. Managers should be held to a higher standard than regular employees and if that's the example she's setting for the other employees, it doesn't bode well for this location. Yikes.

Horrible service. Staff member stand around without even acknowledging the customers. When I asked for assistance, she looked at me as though I did something wrong. Save you time and just head to the Southgate location instead.

This is the third time I am buying from this store and they haven't offered or given me samples. Usually it wouldn't be such a big of a deal but trying cosmetics helps a lot especially when they're so many options available and it's so difficult to find the right products just by reading labels.

Worst experience today at this location today. It was a shopping day for me n a friend of mine. Asked if we could leave our bag near to the counter so that we could shop comfortably. Request was declined twice whereas other store were more than happy to help. Devi needs more training when it comes to customer service.this experience could have been better if she help rather than just looking and rolling eyes on us.

The manager at the Sephora is extremely rude, the one working Friday June 18/2021 in the evening. So I got caudalie vinoperfect serum which was like around $100 for pigmentation and the lady which was helping me on June 6 suggested me that and said use it for twice a day for 2 weeks at least to see the results and if no result seen then bring back the product. So after few applications I got few acne here and there thinking my skin is getting use to it but tried to use everyday till June 17th and didn’t see any result at all. On the top got quite a few acne. Then I decided to get something else as it was not working for me and on 18th I went there and the rude, insensitive manager didn’t even listen to what I hav to say and said it’s not gently used.so she cannot take it back. First they make false promises that u gonna see result in 2 week, if not then return back and when u go there to get something else in exchange. They humiliate u. Extremely disappointed customer service.

This location is always a hit or miss (mostly miss) in terms of product availability and customer service. Every time I've been in this location either I was approached by employees way too many times or none at all there really is no middle ground. I usually have a good interaction with the person at the front of the store but it just goes downhill from there. The last time I was in the store I had to chase down employees to ask about certain products I was looking for and when I eventually approached a group of employees standing together just talking to each other one of them quickly told me where the product was and went right back to standing in their circle. Right after that I went to the cash till to pay and I had to stand there for a good 10 minutes before anybody noticed me. This whole time the 3 girls standing in their circle continued just talking and didn't even call anyone to help me out. And when it comes to product availability they rarely ever have products available. I would say I've left this store really disappointed 99% of the time. Sephora in general has really started to take advantage of the fact that they don't have any direct competitors in Canada.

I looked online first so I pretty much knew what I wanted I just needed correct colour. I had walked the whole store and only really saw 1 lady working there and she was busy with another customer, finally the cashier helped me. She had good intentions, had good product knowledge and showed me a lot of products. Tried to get me to go way lighter but I needed darker for summer.only reason to go, some advice is just to listen, after all the products I went to what I wanted in the first place.

Literally had the worst customer experience ever. Told them about a problem I had and they were extremely rude. Especially the one manager (didn’t get her name) she spoke to me in such a condescending way I was so shook. We were only speaking for 2 minutes max and she said there’s another client behind me who’s “actually purchasing something. ” Basically I was shoed away in the rudest manner. Maybe it was because of my race? Idk? Like I really don’t understand why I was spoken to that way. I will never be coming to this location again. I’m really upset Sephora has these kind of managers that don’t know how to treat their customers right. But then again, why would such a big corporation care about one customer right? This is not how you treat humans.

The perfumes are bad quality. I do not recommend this sephora. I tried to return the item back but they did not accept it. In fact one of the staff had racist attitude towards me and my girlfriend.

Really uncomfortable experience, couldn't focus on shopping because it felt like I was being followed. It was borderline intimidating & if intended to help it actually did the opposite. Staff were being very confrontational to customers while standing too close to them! Very poor leadership & management.

Reading how many people have also had this experience is of some comfort but I would not recommend visiting this location.

Wrote a longer review but accidentally deleted it. Either way staff there were completely uninterested in the products and the cashier was super rude. Not sure if it's the standard there versus locations in the mall but it was disappointing. They should probably do further training or up the standards because it was super frustrating. The front door gal seemed really nice other wise super negative experience - I have had better customer service at Walmart.

The manager at this store is a miserable human being and has the worst customer service I’ve had to date. Not sure why she’s still employed. If you care about your customers you should get rid of her ASAP. Never going back, also staff needs to remember social distancing.

The Lady's that work here (South Common) are fantastic! They have extensive knowledge about every product! They are so helpful and informative about certain make-up (vegan friendly). If they by chance don't know, then they will find it out for you.
Great customer service and always a joy shopping there.

Literally the rudest staff I work in south common and would rather drive to Southgate then to deal with them waited forever for some to show me a tester of perfume looking around for staff who all walked by me but clearly didn’t have enough time to acknowledge me so I finally just got tired of waiting and sprayed it on my wrist then finally a worker comes up to me a says I’m not allowed to do that well maybe if you acknowledge my existence 10 minutes ago I wouldn’t of had to such a horrible staff I always had issues at that store always super rude to me seriously who do you think you are.no wonder your store is always dead I don’t know who would actually want to shop there learn some actual customer service

Today i visited sephora south common edmonton store and i found out there are not helpful at all. Store was not easy at all still i had to asked couple of times to help out with products when they came to help there were 15 mins left to close and they rushed us to take our products and told us to go fast without our satisfaction. Staff was very rude and not cooperative in this situation. I will not recommend anybody to go to this location.thank you

Went to the store to purchase a retinol product. Caitlin provided me a great customer service by explaining to me how to use the product because it was my first time using it. She is knowledgeable about the product and also explain to me the different types of sunscreen I would be needing. Really great job!

Worst customer service. Nobody even bothered asking me if I need help with anything. And I hate that guy who kept following me. I was waiting for him to open his mouth and say something. Finally, he said "You cannot touch the testers. If you wanna try them, ask for assistance. " I've seen other customers touching the products, but he only chose to tell me!

The ladies working here insist on holding your hand while you shop. As soon as one lady is done harassing you, another lady will show up, asking you the exact same questions. Lady after lady after lady. It's like they had 100 ladies in the back and it was an episode of Candid Camera or Just for Laughs. Lol Nice try ladies, lol

Nice and helpful customer service, ask to get help, don't waste time looking for something, just ask. Once you are in that section then explore.

Tip: check their sale items or new inventory, often I get a very good deal.

Great and professional staff, very accommodating! Especially during recent times reopening after covid, they were very clean and ensured that if you needed to see a colour that they were there to assist you, ensuring that nobody would be touching the samples themselves. Very pleased with the extra steps that they have been taking and I will 100% be returning to this location! 10/10!

I was trying to exchange a foundation I bought online in the wrong color but ended up just doing a return. The staff were super friendly however I felt like the security guard followed me around the entire store. It was so uncomfortable I didn’t even bother replacing the item. Maybe he wasn’t and I get he has a job to do but never in my life have I felt I was being followed until today.

My experience was very positive while shopping at this Sephora store. I was looking for something for someone that I didn't have any idea. The staffs were very nice and helpful. They helped me to get the right product. They are providing a great service. I would definitely recommend this place.
