The process of booking and paying for the service was seamless. The receptionist was also very kind. I highly appreciated Pam's attention to detail and her care for my comfort. Looking forward to my next massage.

This spa has great service and my massage therapist was Sally she was great I strongly suggest the 90 minute massage

I had a great massage with Jenny but I was pretty dissapointed with the volume outside the room. I heard a 25 minute conversation between a couple staff members that had their volume at an easy7-8. The staff need to be more cognizant of what is happening around them. Extremely unprofessional to be hearing about their weekends and their life experiences when I’m paying to get away from the stresses of life.

Got a hot stone massage and it was lovely. Will definitely return. Very professional RMT's and friendly front desk staff.

We went for couple massages. Pam and Sae Tan was our masseuse. It was one the best messages we have received. Relaxing, calm and peaceful. Highly recommended this place:)

I was in for a couple massage and the experience was the same for my wife.

From my years of experience getting massages somewhat regularly, I can tell the difference between a certified therapist and an amateur. From someone who cares and someone who doesn't.

Have you ever been at the Makami college stand at the stampede grounds? It's a bunch of young people learning in school how to massage properly to become certified therapist. And let me tell you, for being apprentices, they are pretty good!

What I have just experienced now is total amateurism.

The massage was a mixture of pre-fight muscle warm up (in reference to my contact sports experience) and a baker bread dough kneading.

I am a fairly hairy man and 5 push of massage oil was used for my whole body (yes i have counted them!)

The massage was inconsistent for every body zones. If i can call it "techniques", what she used, were different from one limb to another. The massage time management, per zone, was horrible.

A rought rushed rub down would be a nice way to describe it.

My limbs were dropped down instead of layed down, the sheets were pulled vigorously instead of gently tucked. Definitely not a relaxing experience.

The paperwork filed upon all first visits that ask you what are your preferences are, specific massage zones, conditions and notes to the therapist was filed before the massage (lower back and wrists were my prefences). But the mentioned zones were never even massaged!

This massage was covered under my wife benefits, therefore it is the law that a certified massage therapist should be giving the massages in this establishment. Compared to those promising young future therapists from Makami, It made me doubt that this person is certified.

I highly suspect that she wasn't certified. If I wasn't so busy I would probably look into it.

If I were you I would do my research about your therapist on their website before blindly booking a massage like I did.it's a lesson learned for sure!

My husband and I have been going to Serene Escapes for massages and can say that all the massage therapists here are good. Today, I had the best massage from Maridy! The pressure is just right and I love the stretches that she incorporated with the massage which helped in relaxing the tight muscles.

My husband and I thought we’d try this place since it is close to home…. Huge regrets. What a waste of benefits. First of all, I had to call and confirm that we were still booked as we received no confirmation call, text, or email. Once we arrived, the lady at the front was very polite and friendly (that was the only positive thing about that place). The massages…. There is no way these two are RMT’s. They were awful. My husband’s RMT was cheap with the oil, was kneading him like dough and was not tending to any problem areas he wrote on the sheet. My massage…was a mix of chiro, physio, and a bit of massaging. All that was missing was needling. I’m pretty sure I booked a relaxation massage. This was everything but that. A professional is supposed to ask you if you are comfortable with them stretching you. Not this lady. She made the decision on her own. It seemed like she was trying to crack my neck at one point which I’m pretty sure is not allowed. She had a little obsession with cracking my toes as well. The hot towel they put on your back after, to help loosen the muscles, well they are supposed to wave it a little to cool it off, not this lady, again just making the decision that my skin could handle the heat. I had written on the sheet that I had mild tennis elbow in my left elbow, she ignored it. Before we left the spa, we let the Receptionist know that it wasn’t great. I wanted to talk with her more but another worker was standing behind her pretending to do something when really she was just being nosy. So the nosy lady and the two “RMT’s” need training. One just needs to be told to mind her business and the other two need to actually get certified. If they really are certified, then they need to be trained. In my opinion, this is a poor reflection of management and how they train their staff.

I have been going for massage at Serene Escapes Day Spa since last year 2022. Since the very first time I had massage with May. I always ask for her. She is very knowledgeable and applies the right body pressure. My son and husband also enjoy massage at this place. The environment is very peaceful.

I am really disappointed with the receptionist that attended to me. I have been a loyal customer for years, even referring friends & family. However, the receptionist was really rude, disrespectful and lack professionalism towards me. She was very bias and she put me in a box I try to explain to her that she was wrong but she told me I am too loud.

Staff is very good girl at the front desk was very friendly and my message therapist Jenny was awesome she had good knowledge of what she is doing she helped me with my back I will definitely come back to her I hope I spelled her name right

I have been going to serene spa for probably 5 yrs now, and just recently have a session with May. May is the best massage therapist in Calgary PERIODT!

It will probably become hard to get an appointment with her after this review but I don't care because she is simply amazing! She deserves the accolades.

May has found a way to combine different massage techniques (thai, relaxation, therapeutic even chiropractic moves too!). I absolutely enjoyed her massages. I will try my possible best only to get all my sessions with her.

If you ever visit Serene spa definitely give MAY a try and tell them I referred you (atleast!). Lol.

If you're in the trades I cannot recommend Opal Ewing enough; she has fantastic technique and knows how to tackle the wear and tear construction throws at our bodies. A 120 minute session with her is a total game changer, do yourself a favour and call today

I have been getting electrolysis for 2 years now- the last year and a half of it with Nicole at Serene Escapes. I had more success with Nicole after only a few sessions than I had for the entire 7 months I was going to someone else. The spa is clean, the front staff is super friendly and welcoming, and Nicole is attentive and listens to my requests. My skin is in better condition since changing to Serene Escapes-I no longer leave electrolysis sessions with scabs or giant pustules like I experienced previously from another business.
Plus! I earn money back with every dollar I spend there. It's a great business, and well worth the hour drive it takes me to get there.

I have been attending Serene Escapes Day Spa multiple times this year for facials. I was in need of manicure and pedicure services for the first time due to a broken arm injury recently and could not care for myself. The staff has been amazing in taking care of me and working around the difficulties arising out of this injury in order to make the experience absolutely wonderful, even relaxing. I am thankful for the care and time given to me for these services! Very friendly, caring, professional, educated, certified and experienced staff. I look forward to my next manicure and pedicure appointment already and many more services in the new year! My New Year's Resolution is to finally take better care of myself and I have chosen Serene Escapes to partner with me to achieve this goal!

I travel well out of my way to see Karen for my facials. She is the best! Very professional and friendly. Does not try to sell you products that you do not need. She waits for you to ask questions and then recommends things that could be a benefit for you. I have even convinced my husband to see Karen! I would strongly recommend this day spa for your next facial.

I went for electrolysis consultation. I saw the good reviews and I thought I would give it a try. The consultation was unhelpful and the lady could not even tell me how much time it would take for one full round of hair removal from my face. I wanted to get a test patch done because I have sensitive skin. Most places offer this for free with a consultation and only do a few hairs. Serene did not offer this. Their minimum treatment was 15 mins. I was OK paying the 25$, but requested that the lady to the test patch on my lower cheek area above my jawline. Instead they did it right on my cheek and my skin reacted horribly. I followed all of the post treatment instructions. These were NOT explained to me in the "consultation", I was just given a piece of paper. I broke out and now have horrible scarring on my face. This place is OK for massages but nothing else. I will never be going to Serene again. My face will never be the same, even makeup cannot cover up the horrible scars I got from this treatment. As far as I am concerned this place is unprofessional and should not offer treatments if they do not properly treat there staff and adhere to industry standards.

Yuni Lee (RMT) is intuitive. She made a note of my current issues and worked on them with a perfect balance of deep pressure and relaxation technique. I'd recommend her!

Front desk employees are so rude. My husband and I drived 20 minutes to get to this place for our appointment, which was couple massage. When we got there, the receptionist said that the session is booked for only one person and when I told her that I made appointment for couple massage, she said your appointment is for capet massage not couple (is capet massage even a thing? !). She didn't apologize or try to set us another appointment. She aggressively told us they're all booked and she can't do anything.

I have been visiting Serene Escapes for the last 3-4 years and i am completely satisfied with the services by the massage therapists here. I do not have any personal favorite, i think everyone does a wonderful job but if i had to recommend somebody it would be Yuni Lee, i got a prenatal massage done from her. She knows her job exceptionally well, i felt completely relieved after getting her services. I would just add though, the front desk ladies are good but not friendly. They don't smile much. But overall i love this place, it's definitely worth it)

Went there on Sunday April 17,2019 around 1: 00pm. Had already booked an appointment for a couple massage and drove 20 minutes to get there to only find out they booked a single session for my wife. There were two very rude ladies at the front desk who were not willing at all to fix the problem. They were acting so weirdly, and didn't even apologize or try to book us for another day. I have never seen so much disrespect.

Therapists Jenny and Pam are awesome! Great spa and services however front desk employees are not very friendly. Excellent customer service is important. If you ladies at the front desk don’t like your job than find something else, your bad mood makes me not want to come anymore.

I am going there from last 3-4 years and by far they have the best services. I always go to Opal and she is the best massage therapist there. I would highly recommend her and the spa.

Massage and treatments are always wonderful! Only negative, you can hear everything that happens at the front desk area when you are in your room.

Pretty disappointed with this pedi.not worth the money at all. The lady did a good job cleaning up my nails but maybe it's time for some new polish. I will be taking this polish off and re doing myself: (waste of money.
