Shanghai Classic Restaurant

This is our favorite Chinese food venue. Food is fresh and tasty. Staff are friendly and accommodating. You can request no MSG or half size orders.

The food was amazing, the portions were great, the staff was very friendly and the price was very reasonable.

Had dinner at Shanghai Classic today with the family, here are my thoughts:

Food - Greasy and Average. We ordered the Spring Rolls, Hot & Sour Soup, Singapore Noodles and Shanghai Noodles. Spring Rolls we’re probably one of the worst I have ever had but the Shanghai Noodles were good.

Service: Average

Not sure I would return again.

Very Authentic Chinese cuisine, very yummy food, would highly recommend asking for the daily veggie choice for fresh stir fry veggies. My favorite dish Crispy Fried Chicken with extra chips and the sizzling rice dish!

Food is delicious. Must try the peking duck and sweet and sour pork. Service is a little slow but worth the wait.

My mom and I come here specifically for the Peking Duck, 2 course meal with the crispy noodles. They NEVER let us down. Quality and service are always top-notch. Of course, during holidays, they get SUPER BUSY, so be patient with them.

Since a new chinese restaurant opened on McKnight, the traffic has died down a bit, BUT that just makes the service even faster, in my opinion, with fewer people seated at all times.

Don't change a thing you guys!

By far the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. How in the world are they getting good reviews? !? The rice came to us dry! How could you not give fresh rice? Also there was zero flavour to the food as well.

Have been going here for years, just family friendly chinese community restaurant always enjoy coming back and supporting friends. Chinese comfort food all the staples.

One of the best Chinese Resto I tried. Food is really great. Sweet and Sour Fish fillet and Pork are to die for. We also love the Ginger Beef. Veggies are fresh and crisp. The sauce is so rich and addicting. The staffs are very nice and accomodating. The place has a very oriental ambiance with round table and nice decor. Will definitely go back.

Went for family dinner, friendly staff, miss some photos on other foods we order. Overall good taste!

Shanghai Classic has always been our family's favourite Chinese restaurant. We love their lunch specials, fried rice, crispy noodles, chicken dishes, soups. I can't say I've ever had a bad dish here. We've been long time customers (since they were in Thorncliffe on 4th Street!).
They provide fast and efficient take out too. Love their Peking duck!

The food was fantastic and didn't at all taste like the cookie cutter Chinese cuisine. It tasted very fresh and full of flavor. Great wonton soup and the best ginger beef I have had to date. Would recommend any time. I will be going back. I am pleased I stumbled across this gem.

Ordered food new years day. Said it would be delivered in 1.5 hours, which was understandable. But 3 hours later and numerous phone calls. Finally got food and was cold. Gave 50% off but my experience with them will stop me from going there again.

The food was hot, fresh and full of flavour. Best Chinese food I’ve ever had in Alberta! The wait was quite long but worth it if you have the time.

I been eating here literally my whole life with my family, and this place is absolutely the place to be.the atmosphere is so kind and warm, and the food is so tasty! My favourite's the yin yang rice, and it's so perfect! So so so tasty! Eat here! [if you dine in, you get more ;) ]

I have been coming here usually twice a month for just over a year. Usually the food is good, particularly the dumplings and ginger beef. Shanghai noodles and hot & sour soup are often insufficiently flavoured. Today the soup tasted no better than water, not even like broth. Unfortunately I also bought a large, so 3/4 of it is going to waste. I just can't.

Decent combo meals. Just a tad greasy for my liking. Prices didn’t go up too much since covid. I will go back but not as frequent.

I have been coming to this Chinese restaurant for a long time now, as I live close by. I am always very impressed with how friendly the staff here are as well as how well they treat their guests. The inside of the restaurant is becoming a little dated over the years, but it still provides for a good atmosphere. The many large windows allow in a great deal of natural light. The food here can at times be a little hit or miss, but overall very good quality for the price. Probably by far the best Chinese cuisine in Beddington Heights for sure.
