When I originally got Shaw, the installer placed the modem in the basement in a location that severely limited the signal to a good part of the house. I was told by him that it would be no problem. When I contacted Shaw, I was told that I would have to move it to the better location myself, or pay for a service call. Beautiful! Pay for inferior service. When the service contract was done with the 'promotion' over, the cost of service did nothing but go up. I signed a 2 year plan (what choice did I have, really? Don't sign & pay even more?) which cost over twice the promotional price. Nice progress.
Next came moving to a location where Shaw could not provide service for me. So I was forced to cancel my service contract, which Shaw themselves could not honor as they could not provide service to my new home, at a cost of $262. Awesome. No compromise, no deal, just 'show us the money because that's how it is. " I would have given Shaw a 0, but Google does n0t allow that option.
Canadians pay some of the highest rates in the world for cell phones and internet, and this is what we get for it. Shafted. The CRTC is a lame duck when it comes to standing up for the customer, or so it seems.
