The service team at Shaw GMC deserve immense recognition and my deepest gratitude. During a Calgary deep-freeze I suddenly had my furnace break. The technician happen to be available, but on the same day I booked my vehicle in with Shaw GMC's service department. I explained my situation to Stivan and he and the Service Team were able to have me back on the road in time to meet the furnace company. The anticipated three hour wait was only two! While I don't know the specifics, I suspect the team made decisions to prioritize my vehicle to help me out. For this I am very appreciative. Thank you all so very much!

The service was bad on December 19, I had an appointment to change the oil and repair a tire with an appointment at 7 am, they delivered my vehicle until 2: 30 pm, I spent more than three hours with the service people, they don't respect the hours, it's bad

Cannot customer service is an expertise of this dealership. Came in around 4: 30-4: 45 on a Friday, was given a cold hello by the lady at the desk then we started looking around and it seemed every single staff member looked at us, and ran back there offices. Staff wasn’t respectful and was busy avoiding us or on the phone. We visited two dealerships prior to this, Maclin Ford and Heritage Mercedes Benz, both of which had staff that was actually eager to help and gave us plenty of info for decision making. I’d assume this dealership won’t help you based on how you dress or your age so wouldn’t reccomend this place

Marleau was incredible. She was very thorough and the check in was expeditious, knowing I was traveling through. Will look to use this location again in my travels and hopeful to deal with Marleau again.

I’ve always chosen Shaw GMC as the place to service my 2018 Buick Encore. A part of me likes that they are typically quick in completing the service requested and most of the time they are accommodating in last minute booking of appointments. However, a part of me also kinda questions their ability to make sure that the quality of work done is excellent. I just had my car checked back March or April of 2023 because the engine light on my dashboard was on. They were able to fix it and return my car in a matter of 3-4 days. Thankfully it was within my warranty so I didn’t pay for anything. Unfortunately this July 2023, I had to drop off again my car because this time my battery needed to be replaced. The appointment booking was done smoothly by this lady named Arlis, she made sure that I’m well informed on timeline expectations. But what actually didn’t make me feel really happy are two things.

First: I just had my car checked by them in under 3-4months. Had they not done their checks if my battery was close to its useful life? They could have probably known it, and if they did, I would have appreciated to be notified rather than me coming again just a few months later.

Second: Cost. I knew that there was a potential issues with the battery. I was anticipating already that it could either be battery replacement or wiring configuration. In addition, I also needed them to conduct a vehicle inspection because I’m renting out my car during weekdays to TURO. What I wasn’t happy about is the fact that I was charged for a Diagnostic Test which per explanation of the service advisor that it’s required to find out what the issue was on my car. I agreed to it. It costs $179. But I was also told that to have the annual checklist inspection done for TURO, they would charge me $89. So in my head I started to question, why am I being charged for two things that have same purpose.

It would have been nice if they could have just waived for me the $89 fee especially the $179 is a more extensive level of testing the overall car’s health. Checking boxes on a piece of paper doesn’t seem to be justifiable for me to be charged $89. To add to that, I am loyal to this dealership. I will always come back here because I value relationships. I would have just hoped that they valued my loyalty to them.

Overall, they’re good.

Update: after this review, they called me to clarify that the diagnostic test was optional. But highly recommended to ensure that the resolution for the issue is the right solution. I was told that I could have opted not to do it.

Worst vehicle buying experience of my life. Don’t bother with this place.

I went in to test drive a truck. The salesman came for the ride (not my choice, he informed me that it’s policy) it was super awkward, as he kept on shouting out directions to take. I pulled off into a nearby parking lot as I wanted to test out the safety features. The salesman instructed me to drive into a telephone pole (thankfully I’m smart enough not to actually hit into it, there were no sensors coming on) … “keep driving the sensors will come on” is what he kept shouting from the back. I put the truck in park and got out, and had a look, turns out there are no sensors in the grill. No side detection sensors either, among another list of lies he had.

Upon arrival back at the dealership he gave my keys to someone (without my permission) so that they can apparently test drive it and appraise the trade in value. I had no knowledge of this, and as I went to leave the dealership I could see my car driving down the road.

Textbook definition of a greasy car salesman. Don’t waste your time here.

Randy was very helpful and went far and beyond to get me the vehicle I wanted. He also arranged for me the best possible financing option available. Although, I did the purchase online, I got assurances of the vehicle's condition and history. Thanks Randy for the professionalism.

We were very fortunate to deal with Kassem (Kaz) at Shaw. We were having a more difficult time trying to locate a vehicle when we went into Shaw. Kaz was extremely helpful and definitely low pressure. When we found the vehicle we wanted, he walked us through the procedures extremely competent. When we encountered a difficulty resulting in the vehicle being returned to GM, Kaz advocated for us and did everything he could to make us happy and get us into the right vehicle for us. Throughout the process he was very informative, professional, and helpful. We would recommend him in a heartbeat. A big shout out to Scott from the finance department too! Awesome guy to deal with! Thank you Shaw GMC for having employees like Kaz and Scott. We will definitely be back when it is time for our next vehicle. Thanks Kaz once again!

Expensive compared to similar models elsewhere.
This is still after mentioning the cheaper models to the sales rep and he responds "that usually means there is something wrong with them. I got a high end luxury car with less than 35,000 km on it for cheaper than any model I was being shown.
When asked the lowest amount, I was told he could knock off a couple hundred if the boss agrees.
With knowing this, I am not going to put in an offer when I can still get a better vehicle elsewhere!
06 September 2021 21:10
If you are going to Shaw GMC to buy a vehicle. I would highly Kassem (Kaz) Al Baset. I have never had a vehicle sales person go above and beyond when it come to helping a customer finding exactly what they want. Kaz worked hard and was able to deliver a vehicle within the short time constant.

My son wanted to buy a canyon truck, so I contacted a Mike from Shaw GMC, he told us there were canyon trucks at this location. We drove 2 and half hours to Shaw GMC, when we arrived we met Kaz AL Baset (salesman). He informed us we were miss informed by this Mike about the truck! There were no trucks! We were going to leave when Kaz AL Baset went to work and put in an extraordinary effort, used all his resources and found my son the truck of his dreams! He complements your company very well.
Thank you Kaz

Bought a 2 year old SUV from Shaw and could not seriously be happier. No hiding anything, straight up honesty and disclosed everything about the vehicle, didn't waste time trying to sell me anything else, negotiated a fair price and the admin fee was included and part of our agreement, so to accuse the dealer of a hidden fee (as some have done in other posts) is not reasonable, in my opinion. We negotiated a bottom line and that is what we paid and how they split it up is their business.

While doing the final paperwork we witnessed exceptional service being provided to diverse clients and were so impressed! We love to see people of diversity all being treated with the same fairness, kindness and respect.

I have bought 10 vehicles over the past 10 years and my experience with Sam Andrews was the best experience I have had ever. I never spoke to the manager, but the manager was undoubtedly a part of the whole experience and they should definitely be proud of this team. It was worth two 320 km return trips for this deal that I seriously believe I would not have received anywhere else. Top notch experience and no regrets.except that I will not get to buy from them again for a few years due to the quality of the machine they offered. Oil in the dipstick was as golden as if it came out of the Alberta oilfield itself lol. The entire vehicle was polished right down to the shiny tires and totally decontaminated for COVID and followed all other health recommendations. The entire experience was as fun as buying a new vehicle should be. Fun, fair and a good deal for both sides. I will happily refer others for years to come. Thanks to Sam, Nikko (the unsung hero in the finance office) and the manager/management team!

I want to thank SHAW GMC for their exceptional service. They always go above and beyond to make sure I am satisfied. Special thanks to Dave & Melissa for their PERSONAL help today!

Very nice staff, they were low on selection but offered to bring in a vehicle from anywhere in Alberta. Great guys

Had the pleasure of dealing with Tin and his team (Patrick and Sydney) with trading my 2015 Ford F-150 with a 2016 BMW X5M. Tin was able to give me top dollar for my truck and a smoking deal with the BMW, they even dropped off my winter set to me. Sydney was great with explaining all our contracts and getting the vehicle registered. Would highly recommend this team for any purchase of a vehicle.

I’ve been dealing with Shaw GMC for years now.

I bought my first truck back in 2014 and just recently upgraded to a new 2021.

I would like to give my sales representative Kaz a shout out for such a good job on getting me into a new 2021 Sierra elevation.

Kaz provided an easy pressure free sales experience that left me feeling confident in my purchase. The level of experience Kaz displays is unmatched by any other sales representative and I would recommend you talk to him before making any decisions elsewhere.

When the time comes for another new truck I know who I’m coming to see.

Thanks Kaz!

I had the pleasure of work with Randy MacFarlane. I was blown away by his excellent communication skills and his ability to understand my situation to find me the best suited vehicle for me. He went above and beyond to even educate me with the process and how each stepped worked and why. I felt extremely comfortable working with him and not once did I feel pressured to buy. Ive gone numerous times back and forth and he was very much willing to explain the difference and ultimately alllowed me to make the perfect choice.
Im very ecstatic with my vehicle and Im very pleased at how positive my experience was with Randy.
I will definitely be coming back because of Randy for future vehicles and I will definitely be referring him to friends and family.
Thank you Randy for an awesome and educational experience. I love my car!

Worked with Billy, Patrick and Sydney, amazing team who really values your input. Communicated clearly and worked out the best finance option available to get me the car I selected. Really value the professionalism and the way they make you feel welcomed here, gave me some great deals and options that fit my budget.

Rob Sikora is the Lead Service Advisor at Shaw GMC on 4620 Blackfoot Trail SE. Calgary.

Since I bought my new GMC, Rob has been extremely helpful every step of the way. He is very polite, considerate, and treats your vehicle like it's his own! I highly recommended Rob, make sure you ask for him as your advisor, you won't regret it!

Good experience. I went to test drive a car. I called to find out about a used car they had for sale. We booked a time and I got a followup text confirming the time. Very professional.

When I got there the sales person asked a few qualifying questions and we went out for a test drive. Pleasant sales person. No high pressure. The car was priced reasonably, I had been looking at the market both private and at dealerships and they had the car priced correctly. I didn't end up buying the car because it didn't drive like I hoped it would. But I wouldn't hesitate to go back to that dealership if they had another car I was interested in. Highly recommended.
08 June 2021 1:08
I dealt with Patrick and his team, they were all so great! Gave me all my options, no pressure to make a deal. I ended up coming out with a much better vehicle than I thought I'd end up with. Communication from the dealership was great, from all departments. Overall a much better experience than I had at the dealership I previously dealt with. 10/10 would recommend!
05 June 2021 23:17
Kristian BigPlume here, bought a wonderful white 2018 Ram 1500 SLT truck, back in December. I'm still satisfied with the truck I got, and loved the service. Randy and the team were nice to me and my family who went there to help me getting a truck. I would recommend this dealership to a friend.

Absolutely do not recommend! We went in a few weeks ago and dropped around 20k on a used jeep. Shortly after leaving the lot the lights on the dash started blinking, windows wouldn't roll down, seatbelt wouldn't stop beeping! Immediately called and talked to the salesman Glen who assured us he would have the car fixed and told us to bring it back.

We returned the vehicle on a Thursday, we were told he would update us the following morning. Well, the entire weekend went by and we received no phone call, we were without a vehicle all weekend, we called and left messages several times and never received a reply.

Finally on Monday we got ahold of Glen after calling and leaving messages all day. He explained to us that the motor for the passenger window was shot and the body control module that controls the electronics was shot. He explained that the motor would cost a few hundred to replace and that the bcm was several thousand. He then told us that they would cover the cost of the motor and offered to pay a small percentage of the cost of the bcm as a "favor" leaving with us to foot the remaining thousands of the bill.

At this point we refused and told him we either wanted them to fix the vehicle or for them to refund the jeep and we would find something different. Immediately he became defensive and very rude. Telling me that we broke the vehicle, that it was our fault and that they were just trying to do us a favor. Even though we called him minutes after leaving the dealership. After getting nowhere with him we elected to talk to the Used car manager John Smith.

John tried to convince us to return our warranty and use that towards the repair (we bought the extended powertrain warranty). He got nasty with us and was not very helpful.

Finally I threatened to call AMVIC and talk to a lawyer and shortly after they agreed to fix everything on their dime " as a huge favor for us ". We are now almost a week with no vehicle. We had to keep kids from school because there was no 2nd vehicle. They then took nearly 2 weeks to fix the jeep, the ignored our phone calls and didn't give us an estimated completion date.

Finally I got through to the General Manager, he hadn't even heard of the situation. As soon as I told him he expressed his apologies and immediately offered a courtesy car.

Anyways, they fixed it, and we have the jeep, but Glenn and John Smith are nothing but crooks and I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to buy from them.

Edit: after posting this I have been contacted by several people who purchased used vehicles from you guys with undisclosed mechanical issues. It seems like you guys made a business of ripping people off. I really hope people will read this review before getting ripped off in the future.

Bought my new truck with the help of Patrick and Billy:) They were not only incredibly helpful during the purchasing process even after they continue to reach out. Patrick also had a beautiful thank you basket for me 3> Thank you Patrick, Billy and Syd

One of the worst vehicle buying experience I have ever had. When I first went in to buy the vehicle everything went smooth, the sales guys where great and so was the financial Manager. But that is where it ends, after the paper work was all filled out they gave me a date and time to pick up my new vehicle. I got a call @ 1pm when I was supposed to pick my vehicle up at 5 that day and they said they weren't ready for me to pick it up because the vehicle wasn't ready. So I was told to come back in @ 5 the next day and it will be ready for me. So the next day I get a call at 4: 55 asking if I can wait another day for the vehicle as they still haven't completed all that needs to be done. I was basically in the dealership parking lot at that point. I told them no I cant wait another day as I was heading out of town for a few days. So they signed the vehicle over to me that day and I was to bring it back in after the weekend for a detail and whatever else still had to be completed. That was fine with me, but they didn't contact, me to schedule a time like they said they would.it Didn't end there I have had the vehicle for 1 month now and the still have yet to pay off the full amount. So now I'm getting charged for my trade in and my new vehicle. So I tried to resolve the issues with them on the phone on Friday.and they said they have sent the payment over to the bank to pay off the remainder owing on the vehicle. I get a phone call on Tuesday and they still have yet to do it so I have had to sit on the phone for about a hour each time trying to be the middle man for Shaw and the Bank. I do not recommend this dealership to anybody as they have terrible customer service. Even the 1 star review is to many stars.

Had the unfortunate opportunity to have an interview with David Jensen, I don’t believe I’ve had a more unprofessional interview in my life. We planned for the interview to be at 9 AM and as anyone should I showed up 5 minutes early and he was nowhere to be found - about 10 minutes after 9 we finally sat down and he began peeling an orange and staring at his computer.a couple unrelated questions later he asked me to take a behavioural test and an aptitude test which was 50 questions and he gave me about 6 minutes to complete it. I don’t care who you are, that sounds entirely unreasonable.the ad clearly stated a 18-20/hr position, he offered me a express lube position for $16/hr. Thanks for wasting my time Dave!
13 April 2021 18:50
No hassle, no pressure and despite of getting denied by everyone else, they were still able to get me towards something. Might not have been exactly what I would have wanted eventually but with my pretty unremarkable credit, how Randy and the rest of the team that helped us pulled that off is nothing short of a miracle and in record time too, less than two days with my kind of credit and how seamless the process ended up being, its no easy feat, but they pulled it off. You guys are miracle workers, I don't know how you made that happen but in the end, I got both goals I presented in the beginning. Getting a vehicle and be able to drive it out their lot in time for me to get to work. Awesome! Definitely check them out when all else look bleak. They may just be the one who can help, for if they couldn't, I honestly don't know who else would.
13 April 2021 14:28
I had my truck in for service and an oil change. Rob Sikora the service rep was great and took care of me. So easy to get service when you have a good rep who knows what he or she is talking about.
09 April 2021 2:37
The sales people at Shaw GMC are very nice, however its a façade. Once they have made their sale, that nice friendly attitude is replaced with fine print. I bought a brand new vehicle from them that had ongoing issues, that they were happy to help with until the warranty ran out. Then, their mechanics will put all the blame on the driver. DO NOT BUY FROM SHAW GMC! The managers and sales people don't even drive GMC vehicles. They will not lower prices, unless you are a white guy in a suit.
30 March 2021 22:46
Awful experience with James and the finance manager at this dealership. After spending considerable time with them negotiating the value of my trade in vehicle as well as the price of the new vehicle we came to a mutual agreement on the numbers. James went to confirm the agreement with his manager and returned to his office and said congratulations, we have a deal and I just need a quick signature on the paperwork to confirm it and we are all set. When I looked at the paperwork, the numbers were entirely different then what we had literally just agreed on. They really thought they could scam me into signing a contract with dramatically different numbers on it then what we all just agreed on several minutes prior. Total fraudsters to a comedic level.
27 February 2021 22:39
Our salesman Patrick Jang and finance manager Cheryl Sundgaard delivered outstanding service with our new vehicle purchase! Personable and courteous, this team at Shaw was able to take care of all our vehicle needs in a seamless matter. We were in touch with several other dealerships and the choice became very clear who was going above and beyond. I would highly recommend Patrick and Cheryl for anybody in the market for a vehicle. Overall, they set the new standard for any vehicle purchase we have made to date!
26 February 2021 9:23
I was called by this dealership offering to buy back the car that they sold me 2 years ago saying that they have another customer who wants to buy it but they no longer have the model in stock. I later find out that it's a scheme to get me to sell my old car so they can convince me to buy a new one to replace it. If they were just honest upfront about wanting to upgrade me, I probably would have happily agreed. Not sure why they have to resort to these kinds of sales tactics.

In addition, their maintenance fees (e.g. Oil change, tire rebalancing) are much more expensive compared to other non-dealership auto shops. I would not recommend going here for these services.
11 February 2021 8:57
A painless car buying experience, Billy and Sam were quite friendly and helpful and made it easy for me to get on the road in a new car. Thanks guys!
25 February 2019 20:25
Made an appointment with Evan the previous week. Was given a 0700 hrs appointment for the following Monday. Arrived on time only to have to wait for a hour for service department to open. Apparently there was a mix up in communication between the booking department and service. There were five vehicles waiting with myself. All a bit frustrated. Having said this Clinton in service made no excuses for the mix up and got me looked after very efficiently. I was out the door within an hour. Kudos to SHAW for their efforts in dealing with a mix up that frankly can happen to anyone.
18 February 2019 5:25
I took my truck into get an oil change after talking to the service department about how long it would take. I was told an hour. It has now taken over three hours and I’m still waiting on my vehicle. I called to get an update and was told my vehicle had be ready and was awaiting pickup. If you don’t mind having your time wasted and being lied to about how long the service will take then I recommend taking your vehicle to shaw. Also the two ladies I talked to were unbelievably unhelpful and almost rude like it was my fault. I will not be returning to this dealership for any of my automotive needs nor do I recommend anyone else shop here.
12 February 2019 7:35
The heater core on my truck went on December 24th. I called the service department and booked an appointment for the 26th. The staff was very gracious and waited for me until the end of business day. I dealt with Rob S in service. He was great. Received a rental vehicle with no problems. Rob text me throughout the week and kept me posted regarding the progress. Picked the truck up on Jan. 3rd; it had been detailed both inside and out free of charge! Cannot thank Rob S.and the technicians who worked on the truck for their attention to detail in all aspects of the fix. First rate service! 5/5 stars.
25 January 2019 5:26
I am getting fed up with the service I receive from here. I call in to schedule an appointment and every time I show it it is like the first time I have spoke to them. I have brought my truck in over 10 times now, and much of that is for the same work to be done again. Numerous times have I dropped off my truck and have had to wait up to an hour for the next available shuttle. If you open your doors at 7am, you should have shuttles ready to go! People have stuff to do rather than hang out in your tiny waiting room. I have ordered an Uber a couple times. I once brought in my truck for a simple oil change and their apprentice put a gasket on the wrong side causing it to leak. They sold me on a warranty that covered fabric rips, I thought that was a good thing to have on leather seats, however I now have a rip on my drivers seat where the stitching came undone that they are saying isn’t covered when on my warranty it it is written down that rips are covered. Ya, pretty bad service so i don’t think I’ll be returning.

Mornin,

Apparently this person that replied to this post no longer works there. So this is here now.
I thought about slamming your lieing company to the ground publicly, but decided against it. Last year I bought an 09 Jetta City from you guys for 5500, you all even said you would make little money off this sale. Furthest from the lieing truth you all could have been. I have not even owned a year and I have to put at least 1800 into due to mechanic incompetence. The driver side CV joint had to be replaced, because someone put it back together incorrectly. Not saying you all did, saying that the mechanic that replaced the ABS sensor should have when he did the brakes and inspection. The rear sub frame has to be replaced because someone failed to understand why the rear tires would not align, because the frame is bent. The back seat that my daughter sat in for 6 MONTHS was not properly locked in place, that should have been caught and correct by your mechanics before selling the car. I have since have the seat locked into place, but it will no longer go down. At the end of the day either someone there is a lieing pos and sold me the car knowing full well there was a lot of issues with it, or your mechanics are absolutely incompetent. Oh did I mention the headlight that you all said you had to replace, yes that's right is get humid every time it rains. Now I know why your sales team was pushing so God damn hard on trying to get me to pay 350 a month for a warranty. They absolutely knew there was a lot of problems with the car. So trying up sell me a warranty which would cost me more then the car was worth. Just so you could cover the costs of repairs and still make money. I went to a dealership to avoid this garbage. Yet you all PROVED why people should never trust anyone at a dealership. Period.
If you care to understand further of my anger or help rectify your errors in mechanics. You may call me.

Elliot.

This is the kind of dealer that charges diagnostic fee on a repair that is under warranty.they told me they would not wave the fee regardless.greed lost you a potential customer.
I took it to another GM dealer and they completed the repair under warranty AND they did the 45 point inspection free on top of that.

I recently noticed a missed call on my phone from these characters and was inspired to read some reviews. I thought I had left one before but I guess not, so here it is. I purchased my first ever brand new 2015 GMC Sierra here back at the end of 2015. I was was well prepared and told them my minimum needs. Test drove something similar to feel the truck out. I needed a towing vehicle. 6.2L max towing package to be exact. Salesman insisted the 6.2 aluminum block was no good and I should buy a 5.3L. I worked as a GM tech at this dealer before the newer management group bought and ruined the name, and I told the salesman this from the beginning. Still he tried to bull**** me. After 2 days I located the truck I wanted at their Okotoks location and called the salesman. Oh yeah I was just gonna call you he says. Jump to the end. Hub caps not installed, cheap locking lug nuts instead of the chrome ones to match the truck (SLT on 20"). Be surprised if the pdi was done. Took it and finished myself.
Usual dealer tactic called by dealer 3 years to the day. Valued customer we want your trade. Valued my a$$. Undervalued my low mileage, rare option package vehicle. Over priced poorly equipped unit offered. Gonna stop here except to say, I ended up in Airdrie at a fine dealer on the east side next to shell gas who treated me like gold. Payed my remaining balance on the finance and put me in a 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax with the midnight edition package and got me the payments I asked for. Best decision ever and they will receive all my future business. Have a look there. You won't regret. You'll find my review for them if you determine who it is.

Recently had my door locks changed due to a failed B&E attempt. Now there is a severe draw on my battery where if the truck sits for a couple hours it requires a boost (even after swapping in a brand new battery).

This truck had never had an issue starting ever, even when not plugged in over the past couple winters and sitting outside, but one trip to Shaw fixed that.

With how expensive it was too change the locks, I wouldn't have expected it to come out with an almost worse issue, than what it went in for.
03 October 2018 18:10
Similar to the numerous other negative posts, I to am having difficulties picking up my car.now that they have received my payment in full
I have contacted the services department to ensure all the necessary compliance have been completed and that it was available to be picked up, on Saturday to which the receptionist was extremely rude and refused to provide me with any information regarding my car, informing me to contact Rich (who sold me the car) because he was the only one that could answer that question? REALLY
The most disappointing issue with SHAW GMC is that I bought the car on a Friday and had to wait until Tuesday to receive it to complete the work to ensure that it was in compliance with

This is the worst dealership I've ever been too. I came to get an oil change this lady at the counter told me to park on either side and someone would help me. After sitting there for 45 minutes and not getting help and the gentlemen behind informed me that I basically had to go and complain in order to get service. I politely informed the lady that 6 cars that arrived after I did were helped and no one has come to assist me. She brushed me off like don't will get to you. When I knew these ignorant exployees where helping everyone but me was when the older white gentlemen behind me was assisted before me and when I complained the lady at the desk had the audicity to lie and tell me he had an appointment. Word of advice Gmc Shaw will deal with coloured people like the old days and push to the back of the bus and not feel any ways about it. I guess it's not just American people that relate to Donald Trumps racist views.
20 August 2018 16:25
I bought a 2017 SUV from these guys. The sales department and the guys were really helpful in finding the vehicle I wanted at the best price.
Unfortunately during my first oil change I had found the cabin air filter and engine air filter both needed to be changed. As I had just bought the vehicle, I phoned Shaw and explained the situation. Their sales manager was very empathetic and explained why it could've been missed during inspection. In the end he agreed to cover the cost of both expenses. This really helped me out so thank you. Over all really good experience.

Took us a while and a friend’s encouragement to post our experience but in 2016 we bought from Shaw GMC a GMC “certified” used 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. We bought sight-unseen over email and the phone to have it delivered by a trustworthy friend a province away. Upon arrival, It had hail damage from bumper to bumper. The salesman (R. U.) never once mentioned hail damage (we still have all of his emails). This sort of thing really leaves a sour taste so please beware before sending your money as we did. The car has run reasonably well for us. Thank you and be safe.

Recently purchased a used vehicle from Shaw GMC. Was instantly impressed with our salesman Rich, I highly suggest anyone looking at a used vehicle to go to him. He knows what he is talking about, is honest and doesn't use typical sales tactics/pressure to get you to buy. Although you have to see whichever Finance Manager is on that day I highly suggest Tin. Just like Rich he knows what he is talking about and doesn't pressure you to buy anything you aren't interested in getting. Buying a vehicle is stressful enough, without added stress of trying to figure out the angle of the salesmen, therefore, I suggest going to Shaw GMC and asking for Rich and Tin.

I have to say the process surrounding getting the vehicle was extremely disappointing. The following outlines how this process transpired:
1. Poor communication from the finance office:
•Becky emailed on Tuesday requesting information for insurance purposes and received not response;
•Becky emailed again on Wednesday with again no response;
•Becky called the finance office Thursday morning and left a voicemail AGAIN with no reply.
•Becky had to call you to walk over to the finance office and have someone respond to her inquires. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.
2. We had booked 2PM for a time when the vehicle would be picked up. This process took almost 2 hours. I have never in all my years of buying vehicles had this process take anywhere near this time frame. Our documents (registration) were not at the office. Joanna said she would send someone to go get it. Why would she have to do this as we had an appointment and Shaw knew we were coming. Further, the ‘XS care’ was explained to us at the time of signing documents. This whole process was extremely disorganized.
3. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT READY. We did not get what we paid for or agreed to (3M not done). Where was the quality control? How was this allowed to be presented to a first time premium customer with out anyone checking to ensure everything was actually done! Now I have to inconvenience myself from my work day in order to get something that should have never happened.

Given all these issues I was a little offended that you asked us to give Shaw a 10/10 on any survey we receive. My experience was a 4/10 at best. I feel my time was not respected nor were we valued as customers, especially since my vehicle was not even ready for pick up. Furthermore, based on this experience there is no way that we would refer anyone to you.

Based on what we’ve experienced, I have very little to no confidence in Shaw.

Follow up: Go to dealership this morning to get the 3M I paid for more run around and ended up leaving.

WOW WOW WOW.
I cannot day enough about this dealership.
I have bought a number of new cars over the years, and I have never had customer service like this.
The staff are knowledgeable, honest and friendly. They work within your budget, and don’t try up sell you on anything.
Josh Rogers is who sold me my truck, and I can say you guys have a customer for life now. Trevor Gonsalves handled my financing and Curt was the manager on duty.
I am so happy with everything, and I highly recommend that if you’re looking for a new car, please head down to Shaw GMC. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you everyone!

Had a poor and expensive experience with this service department. When ask by the service manager to give a perfect review to GMC Canada, I explained that my experience was so poor, I would have nothing to do with shaw GMC ever again. I thought, they would address the lack of professional conduct there personnel should be held to.
- pushing questionable service. My opinion, e.g. $ 5-6 hundred to check transmission fluid after only 20 k
- claiming the issue was resolved, when it was not three times. (Recall issue they could not charge for)
- when the issue was resolved, they claimed I should get a new battery. $452 for a $ 175 battery retail.
- After refusing to pay for a new battery, I was charged almost two hundred
dollars for issue that had been described as a loss of power to the steering control at low speeds. This issue was described as a recal by GMC Canada. I said I would pay, as this was the forth time and said I would only agree if the issue was resolved. The service rep. Who's name I will disclose on request, insisted I buy a new battery. I refused, stating I wanted to be sure the problem was resolved. I never replaced the battery, it started my unplugged truck all winter. Load of bull.

When I arrived to pick up my 2014 sierra with only 2300k, it look like it had been driven through a mudd bog or muddy field. I was so upset I left with the intention of never having anything to do with shaw gmc ever again.

When asked by email to give my service provider a perfect review, if asked by gmc, I replied, how could I after having this experience. I expected a response but never got one.

I bought this vehicle new from this dealership.

This comment is regarding the service center only.

Dropped my truck off this morning for oil change and check engine light and break check. Just got a call that they haven't even looked at my truck yet (3: 00 pm) and want it left there over night.what's the point of making a service appointment for 7: 45 this morning if you're not going to get to it that day? If you weren't going to look at it that day why don't you have me drop it off the following day. I use this truck for work so every day it's unavailable takes me out of the field.

Tell me what other industry this is acceptable in?

Big, big thank you to Rich and Tin at Shaw GMC. They made purchasing a our new-to-us car, even easier than meeting new friends. They listened to our wants and our more importantly our needs, and went above and beyond in delivering exactly what we were looking for. Even our daughter was so thrilled and comfortable, she gave it her stamp of approval by Zzzzzzonking out in the 15 minute ride home! Thank you so much for making this entire process so easy! After the ordeal from our old vehicle dying, this was very much appreciated.

On Friday May 4,2018; my wife and i went to look at a used car. Ford Taurus. It was exactly what we were looking for and priced well. It had been on their listing for around a month.

Stopped by to view the car, a salesman was kind enough to bring it to the building for a better viewing. When i opened up the drivers door i was shocked at how incredibly the interior was filthy. Not just dirt, but cigarette ashes all over the place, food crumbs in all of the nooks and crannies. And the smell nearly made me puke. I could not believe how Shaw GMC could advertise this car and place it on the lot for show without cleaning it first. I then found out that it had yet to be inspected.

The salesman ask if we would like to take it for a spin. I politely said no thank you. I told him that if i sat in that car for any length of time that he would have an additional mess to clean.

We thanked him for his time and walked away.

Got great dealer pricing on a vehicle with the extended warranty which they have honoured to the fullest. Quick oil changes and repairs. They give you a printed estimate on repairs required so you can go and compare prices and they match them as best as possible while still providing OEM parts and service. Very honest and personable. My family has purchased 4 vehicles through them and I would recommend them 100%.

This is my first review I have ever done, but I felt compelled to let you all know what a great dealership Shaw, Calgary has been for me. They gave me a very fair trade and were able to provide a great price on a new GMC 3500 Denali Dually. Thanks again to the great staff and especially Piotr, Jon, and Jasjeet, for working so quickly to fit my tight time schedule. This is my first purchase from Shaw and I'm sure it won't be my last.

UPDATE: I purchased my second vehicle in 9 months from Billy Tran and Deanna Cesario. Once again the service was outstanding and as I stated before I would be a long time customer, I will never go anywhere else. The entire process of the purchase was easy and I never once felt any pressure. They also give you a wonderful gift basket as a thank you, its a great touch and it shows how they do care about there customers.

Billy and Michelle made my experience exceptional. They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with my purchase of a pre-owned vehicle. I would defiantly recommend them to anyone and I will be long time customer. Thank you both very much, I love my new car.

This review is for the service center only. I have not had any experience or interaction with any other department for this dealership.

Worst customer experience of my life. Avoid this service center at all costs. I brought my 2008 Equinox in Feb 6,2018. I met with Virginia O'Dine (apparently does not work there anymore) and explained that I had issues with my doors not locking electronically, and that I had a warning light on that said Service Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS). I was told that they could fix the locks, but they could not do anything about the TPMS because one of my tires had a bulge and it was not safe to take it off and put it back on. BUT, no problem, because I could buy new tires from them for $700. I did not think I needed new tires (side note: I had purchased the tires from THIS service center only a couple years previously) but I was busy at work and trusted what I was being told so I just agreed. Virginia told me the total cost for everything would be $1915. I said go ahead, put on the new tires, fix the TPMS, and fix the locks on the doors, thank you.

I went to pick my car up a couple days later and paid $1915. That weekend I realized that the rear driver side door lock was still not working. I took the car back in. I was told that it needed a new actuator and that they could fix it for another $700. I tried to explain to them that when I first came in I was experiencing issues with multiple locks, and that they had quoted me a price (which I paid) to fix them. I didn't agree to pay that price to fix some locks and then leave some of them broken. They said this was a communication error, and they were sorry for not letting me know that the cost was only to fix the passenger door lock. They acknowledged that this was a mistake on their end. However, they were not prepared to offer me a refund or a discount.

Then, while I was dealing with this issue (speaking with assistant service manager Janece Crocker and service manager Michael Tichbourne over a period of weeks) my TPMS light came back on!

Essentially, they had not fixed any of the problems I had come in with, and charged me almost $2,000. I could not believe they refused to offer a refund or even to fix the problem. Eventually, after A LOT of arguing and wasted time, I was offered a refund of $280. I was simply too busy to keep arguing and fighting with these people, so I took the refund and took my car elsewhere to have the work completed.

I am extremely dissatisfied and I feel that I was scammed. I was also treated very poorly by assistant service manager Janece Crocker. Michael Tichbourne was a slight improvement, but I am still perplexed at how this situation was dealt with. I am not someone who normally writes reviews or complains, but I have never had an experience like this and I would warn anyone who is considering this service center that they are crooks. They will find reasons to run up your bill, and the quality of the service is 0 out of 10 as far as I'm concerned.

Josh Rogers was amazing. He really took the time to walk me through the car buying experience. He made the process enjoyable, sharing his knowledge and genuinely listened to my needs and concerns.
What could have been an intimidating experience was made fun and educational and I drove away with an amazing car
