Shawarma Barlow

AMAZING! We used these guys for our staff event of 25 people. It was about $15 per person and we got SO MUCH FOOD! The owner delivered the food himself and was very friendly and clearly just happy to help. The food presentations was so beautiful. I didn't get a photo because we were so hungry / excited when the food arrived. The only thing I would request next time was extra pita wraps! We got a lot of food and I would say the pita wrap ratio was lacking. But I am sure the owner would work with you on that! Thinking about going for lunch there today because I want more!

I'll never buy food here ever again because of bad customer service and racism towards customers.

I have ordered almost 10 times in the last 3 months from these guys and i can gladly say that i have not been disappointed even a single time. They get the food right quite consistently. The falafel wrap is really good and the fries have good portion.

Probably the best falafel I've had since I was in the middle east. If I lived in Calgary this would be a regular place for me. Highly recommended.

This is hands down the best falafel I've tried in Calgary. I had the falafel plate and loved it. The honey cake is also a must try!

This is one of my go to shawarma places in Calgary! Not only is the food always amazing and fast, the staff has been incredibly kind. Samar is always a staff member I run into whenever I go and she greets us with the biggest smile everytime. Every once in a while when we go and see a new food we have never tried, they have given us a complimentary sample and Ive never been disappointed with the food! The passion behind their business really shows. Kitchen is always clean and always busy.
My go to food is the chicken patters and my favorite part is how tasty the rice is but never oily. We also order the hummus with pita regularly and it is some of the creamiest hummus ive found in the city so far.

Highly recommend giving Shawarma Barlow a try!

The staff today are very rude especially the lady in front of us grabbing the salad using hands. So disgusting.

They will use rags on my plate as he spill the sauce.

Amazing service, quality food. I highly recommend the Arabi style Chicken Shawarma Bites. I've never had anything like it elsewhere. But you can't go wrong here.

Came here for lunch. Was greeted warmly by the staff, ordered Falafel platter which was delicious and fresh. Cooked right on the spot in front of your eyes! Just like in the Middle East.

Ordered the Shawarma family plate. Amazing portion sizes, mouth watering chicken shawarma which was incredible. Definitely a top class dish. Highly recommended.

The food was absolutely wonderful! Probably one of the best donairs we’ve had in a while. The staff were also very friendly too, especially Yasser. Baklava is to die for, but don’t actually die for it because then you wouldn’t be able to eat it. 10/10 donair/shawarma place

First time ordering from here. The chicken and beef was dry. Samosas were lacking stuffing. I got the chicken platter and it was okay at best but there are so many better options in the city. This place had good reviews so I decided to try it. My partner liked that the poutine had a lot of toppings on it. Also beef samosas had a bit of a bitter after taste not sure what that was about? It just didn’t seem like anything was fresh.

Excellent I got a large shawarma wrap here and a guava juice the service was amazing and the food was excellent.

Generally i go there for SkipTheDishes delivery. Place looks neat and clean, staff is always at its best in customer service. 5 stars for this restaurant.

Best chicken shawarma poutine in the city of Calgary. Quality and quantity is awesome. The lady who makes poutine is very nice and friendly. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Highly recommended

Disappointed in today's day and age to see that a falafel sandwich costs the same as chicken or beef. Falafel should be a staple in a place like this and it's basically beans. Make it cheaper to eat healthy!

I normally only do shawarma from the palace and that won’t change after eating here. Not terrible but extremely average, just doesn’t compare at the same cost.

I still love this place! They were shut down for a bit cause of a vehicle impact to the front of the building, but they are back open finally:)

I am a shawarma addict. I LOVEEE it! So you could imagine how much I decipher one shawarma from another. That being said, the shawarma I got from here was so dry and had the tiniest amount of sauce in it! The portions were so small. The chicken was alright but still I could tell it wasn’t the freshest. Also, I ordered it off SkipTheDishes so I couldn’t have said to add more sauce, noticed if the chicken didn’t look so fresh, etc!

My conclusion is.
. Tasteless and food that isn’t guaranteed fresh. No thanks

The food is tasty, however for some reason is never made how its ordered. Doesn't matter if I'm there in person or order online. Somehow I always end up with sweet sauce instead of garlic sauce, cheese when it wasn't ordered and tomatoes even when its noted as an allergy. I understand things get busy but for this to happen every time.

Very mediocre experience, from the person making my way, to the wrap itself, to the vibes in the place. I've tried a ton of shawarma places, and i don't think id come back unless i didn't have any other options.

Not what it used to be! Was once one of my favorite shawarma places but the last few times it’s sucked! The chicken is so dry, no longer fresh and I ordered garlic potatoes, but got no garlic sauce, so it’s just over cooked potatoes, nothing more… too bad, but so many Shawarma joints in this area that are so much better, I won’t go back anymore. Side note- sign on the door says ‘must wear face mask’ yet the woman preparing our food had no face mask on!

I've been on a shwarma kick for a couple months now and this place is probably the best I've had. So much delicious food and for a great price. Friendly staff and nice place to dine in.

I just ordered through skip the dishes with high expectation due to its high rate, I will be honest, we appreciated how tasty the food is however the serving is a total rip off. I ordered a large platter thinking it was the same as what I usually order from other shawarma places and compared to the price range, to my surprise, it was only a small aluminum foil with few rice, also in the menu it says 12 pieces of meat however we only got 10 pieces of meat. Due to the size and price of 69.99 I don’t think it is right. Maybe our order was exchanged to someone else’s? Due to the ending digit of our order number doesn’t match? Anyways, we we’re hungry so we just proceed and ate our meal as it was a long and busy day.
Is the food delicious? YES indeed.
Is the portion size worth it? BIG NO.

Biggest donair wrap I ever had. I'm totally full! Highly recommended to everyone who loves shawarma type food. Its absolutely awesome!

This shawarma place is tucked in a corner just off Barlow trail (hence the name) and has a decent selection on the menu. Prices are better compared to jerusalem shawarma. And their chicken tastes much better than most other shwarama places. Falafel was a bit tough though. The folks working here are good mannered.

Best price for what you get. I usually finish my platter but the one from here I could not. Will definitely be coming back!

Oh my God where have I been all this while.guess was in a search of a mouthwatering shawarma and finally my hunger landed me to my destination. Worth every $, it really reminded me of shawarma I have had in Dubai. A must try and stop by for the yummy delicious shawarma bite.

This has taken the top spot of best shawarma I've had to date in Calgary. Chicken is seasoned perfectly, no skimping on sauces & toppings, and they do the double-wrap which can be a make-or-break for other shawarma. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the interior is bright and clean. Highly recommended!

The shawarma poutine is fantastic. Its a couple pounds and can feed 2. Quality chicken or beef ontop and the gravy and sweet sauce make a surprisingly wonderful combo. Their wraps are good and come filled. Never disapointed with the food.

Excellent food. Large quantities and fresh. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. Very generous with his helpings. We had the salad with our choice of meats on top. Was enough for two meals but tasted so good we ate it all in one go. We will be coming back. Highly recommend it!

Delicious! I tried the beef Shawarma poutine & Chicken Samosas. Poutine was made fresh, huge portions. The service was excellent! Will definitely return to try other items on menu.

Keep up the amazing job

Worst shawarma place i ordered from. The shawarma wrap was cold and the taste is weird not like other shawarmas I’ve tried. Employee was not wearing a mask as mentioned in other reviews. The chicken was not fresh, came from a pot and there was a small bone in the chicken that I caught while eating.

A few hours after eating I had a bad stomach ache and felt like puking. Will not be ordering from here again.

Great place with very delicious food. Romeo who served us was very friendly and hard working. He was working by himself yet doing the job of 3 people. Great experience and will definitely return here and I highly recommend this place.

Try the donair poutine, it is amazing! Staff is also great, they remember my order and are always really nice even when it's busy. Well worth a visit, I go every week!

Been my go to spot for quite some time now. Always friendly staff and amazing food! Falafel is killer!

Ordered through skip the dishes and the food was horrible. It was cold, the salad was soggy and old and you can tell the meat had been sitting in a warmer and was not fresh. I had two bites and spent the night throwing up and sick. This was the only food I had had all day so I cant blame my food poisoning on anything else.

Came here from Airdrie with the family for lunch, the chicken shawarma is the most authentic in town the place is spacious and clean, employees were very friendly and helpful, will be back for sure!

My family enjoyed lunch here. Best Chicken Shawarma and falafel that I have eaten in Calgary. The Kafta wrap was delicious. The staff are kind and friendly.
I like that they cooked the food on spot; the falafels were fried in front of me.

As a first time eating at this place my service was served very unprofessionally. Not even in their rush hour they made my wrap so quick that the bred was all ripped from all side.

Would recommend. This is pretty much Shawarma Palace but more affordable and without the wait. If the one lady is working the register, avoid paying cash; she seems to really struggle with arithmetic.

We always order delivery from shawarma barlow, they have the best fresh falafel in calgary, highly recommended.

Sorry to say but I thought the food was gross. Shawarma palace is way better. This is actually the worst donair I've ever eaten, sorry to say but it's the truth, absolutely gross! You could go literally anywhere else in the city and Get a better donair. I see it gets good ratings that's why I tried it out but man maybe its just me but its gross!

Sorry to say that someone recommended I have lunch here. The beef donair was subpar at best, the staff was friendly even though the one lady just started putting things on my friends donair without asking. Not overpriced but not very good beef donairs

Very rude staff. To the guy who couldn’t be bothered to pick up the 2$ I accidentally dropped behind the counter thanks for essentially stealing from me! Do not recommend this place to anyone and I will certainly be spending my money else where.

We tried the Beef Shawarma Poutine, it was great. The restaurant is nice and clean but they were a little understaffed. All in all great food and we will be coming back again!

Love this place. A large is a good size, meat is nicely spiced and they always wrap it tight. Very tasty

The restaurant is always very clean. I have seen families and large groups, and their children dining. It is a deceptively small store, when there is a large group dining area in the back for large groups.

I am very impressed as they carry Mirinda sodas. They also carry a lot of delicacies and treats I have only been able to find at certain Mediterranean markets. This appears to be homemade from what I have tried.

The staff is attentive and they are very generous with toppings. The toppings themselves taste very fresh, as in they are likely prepped early in the morning. Their garlic potatoes are never over or under prepared. They use good quality spices and do not simply salt their food to overcome poor ingredients like some competitors.

Their family platters are an exceptional value. If you ever find yourself picking up a UHaul from the Barlow location, treat yourself to a platter. You can feed all your hungry helpers and no mess.
