Shawarma Palace

The BEST shawarma in town. Im a bigg fan. Their sweet sauce is my favorite. On top of that my kids love this place. The portions are very generous and amazing prices as well. Looks very clean place. The workers are amazing too. Love the service. Would always go there. Thankyou

I've liked this place since I first stopped in a year ago. Something was off this time and I got extremely sick for 2 days. It's the only thing I ate different than my kids over the weekend. Please watch your cross contamination procedures carefully.

The atmosphere:
Fast food restaurant, not very comfortable and averagely clean in the sense of tables not being wiped etc.
But it was okay!

Eat:
Delicious! A good selection and there really is something for everyone. We really liked that. The portion is really big (we had falafel)

Staff:
Kind and courteous

Dishes:
I absolutely cannot understand why you would be given plastic containers instead of plates since you are sitting in a restaurant
Absolute no-go for the environment and therefore star deduction. This is really super unnecessary

Otherwise recommended!

My all time fave shawarma place …. I’ve had hundreds over the years. When they had one place in forest lawn I would drive from Cochrane! Now I have it …. I’d say once a week by skip because I’m finally within a delivery zone! Run don’t walk! Huge portions and the best garlic sauce hands down! Love love love this place!

This has become a staple comfort food spot. Always tastes amazing. Great portion size and flavour. Have at this point had every option on the menu and nothing I wouldn’t recommend. A true Montgomery staple food spot.

Consistently bang it out of the park. Staff is incredible no matter how busy it gets, food is always amazing and great value. Always my go to.

Kids all looked stoned making food can’t follow directions and I had nasty black hair in my shawarma

The food is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options. 10/10 for the service at the place and the all the staff is so friendly with the customers. I highly recommend this place.

I got a medium mix wrap no. 5. The taste wasn't special but good. The chicken shawerma pieces was a bit big though. The bread is regular not the Arabic Saj. Limited spots to dine in.

The beef In the wrap was amazing and tender. Very generous portions and friendly staff. Will come back!

I love this place absolutely love it, I have never had one bad experience eating at this location or forest lawn. This is just my opinion but I don't think anybody makes it better, I'm legit throwing punches in the air while I'm eating my beef and lamb lol Also thank you for always being nice to my girl when she's being picky about How she likes her food you guys are great,

We ordered 2 beef/lamb donairs or wraps and 5 falafel. The meat was tough and chewy, sauces had not much flavour. Made a mistake and asked for the sweet sauce. Worst falafels I ever had, raw in the middle, full of salt. Didn't realize that they were just sitting ready made in the shelf.

I have a new favorite restaurant for shawarma in the NW. The food is delicious and the restaurant was clean and well organized. No doubt 5 stars. They were out of lettuce but I like cabbage anyways. This was not my first visit but my third. All visits have been good.

Tons of chicken in the wrap and full of flavor. Veggies were fresh and staff were very friendly. Awesome value and they pack the wrap full.

This place is one of my favourite places ever to get wraps in Calgary. I bring all my friends here and they are never disappointed. Sometimes the staff are not the nicest, but that was only a couple times. The wraps are always stuffed to the brim and are SOOOO YUMMY. The only thing I don't love is that they fold the paper into the wrap as they roll it so it's a little annoying to get out, but that's a minor concern. Otherwise, everyone I have brought has had rave reviews about the food as well.

Visited this store based on reviews. One of the worst shawarmas I have ever had in Calgary. Tried the chicken wrap and the trio wrap. The meat was hard and dry in the trio. Chicken was slightly better but lacking flavour. The Falafel balls were stale and soggy. Definitely not going back here and wouldn't recommend at all.

Nice tasteful food (I ordered #9 meal), huge portions with lots of different stuff included, good and friendly service. An extra token of my appreciation is for that employees were wearing net caps to cover their hairs.

Absolutely amazing food! I'm new to calgary and after Jerusalem shawarma, this is the second shawarma palce I've been to. The portion sizes are rather big but its a good problem to have i guess? The staff is very very nice. I had a bit of a misunderstanding on the phone while ordering and maybe ordered 2 platters by accident. The staff handled it very kindly. Due to how close it is to my house, I'm sure I'll be a regular in no time

I’ve been going to the Palace on 17th for years, it was nice to discover there was a location in Bowness. Food is great, portions are big, and the workers are really nice. One of my favourite spots for shawarma.

Best shawarma in Calgary hands down dont believe what anyone else tells you this is the place

Their beef donair is out of the world. The beef donair platter I usually order comes with the best rice in comparison to others.

Yummy food, affordable price, generous size wrap with fresh ingredients. My go to place for shawarma!

They got new employees and I ordered the chicken platter was so gross all picec were chewy I spit it out I called to complain and she hanged up on me so rude don't even care about thier good costumer.

I love their donairs, and their roasted potatoes with garlic sauce is divine. Delicious Tabouli salad. Lots of selection. Just the best I've come across in my area. I've ordered delivery too. Consistent delicious taste every time. Yum!

This is the best shawarma ever had! It's so delicious! But, the problem is you can have an addiction LOL. Excellent!

Packed poorly and lazily. Bread was also ripped and sauce was leaking. Basically fell apart after I started eating. Pretty good beef though.

Busy, clean, friendly location just off the main highway. Food is good with affordable pricing. Would recommend if you want a quick healthy bite.

Hidden gem. We couldn't find any other restaurants at 10 pm and we thought to give this restaurant a try. Awesome food. Very clean and quality service. Keep it up.

The food was quite bland. If your looking for unique flavours, this isn’t the place. The food wasn’t bad but it was very generic. The rice was plain white rice, no salad dressing, and limited sauce. Would not go back but can see why people who like more boring food would.

First time trying one of this place, had the mix chicken and beef wrap and was delicious, service was fast and good, small place but looked very clean.if i am in the area again for sure i will be back

As we entered, we were welcomed with big smiles on their faces. Fast and very friendly staff, and food is yum, yum, yum! Really enjoyed eating here and will be back.

They give you so much food and its delicious! Amazing! Best beef donair in the city!
2022 Update: STILL Amazing! 5 stars!

FOOD POISONING

My family picked up food from here last night for supper as we like top enjoy food from here about once a month. My husband had a platter, my 5 year old daughter had some rice with a bit of meat, and I had a donair. Our son had nothing as he is too young. My daughter woke up and started vomiting about 9 hours later and my husband started vomiting shortly after and is suffering with horrible diarrhea today. My son is fine and I feel ok - my meal did not have any rice, whereas my daughter and husband had a lot of rice.

We have been long term customers of this place and always enjoyed the food and felt it was a good value. Yesterday's experience was different. The customer service was very poor and the portions were markedly smaller than they had been previously - but there was a mountain of rice to make the platter look full with very little meat, veggies, hummus, and even the potatoes were stingy. Has there been a change in management or ownership? Perhaps some training in food hygiene practices is due?

Happy Father's day to my husband and another customer lost.

This place could be so much better with a little work. Sadly while the staff were friendly and the prices are decent, the food fell behind.

I ordered a Chicken Platter and my wife the Falafel Platter. The chicken looks moist and juicy when they cut it off, but then it is placed on the grill and chopped into tiny pieces which are then overcooked to a dry consistency. The rice is mediocre and the potatoes are gargantuan, each piece is like half an apple in size. You need to cut them in several pieces to eat.

The Falafels were dry and almost flavorless, this dish should be brimming with the wonderful spices that make Falafels a wonderful meat alternative, but alas, it feels like the spices are old and don't do the dish justice.

I just wish there was a bit more care placed into the creation of the food, a bit of effort could really put this place on the map.

Unfortunately I'm writing this review while sitting on the toilet! Ordered chicken and donair platter last night - 18th of June 2022 - I shared the platter with my kid and we are both sick since last night, really bad food poisoning. I'll be reporting this to AHS.

I love coming to this place and having shawarma plate, all meats. It is just disappointing that their meat portion is becoming little and little. And Its like there was only 2 meats I got which was cut into very tiny pieces to just make it look alot! Most of its staff as well are not friendly at all. They will serve you with their frowning face. They can’t even smile at you, even when you smiled at them.

Food was great as it is at all Shawarma Palace locations. First time I dined in. Only annoying thing which is stopping me from giving 5 stars was the one and only TV playing a commercial for hair club on a loop, on full blast, maybe the owner is paid by hair club to play that stupid commercial? Just wished there was a better wifi options so I wouldn't have to listen to that garbage while I ate. Otherwise apart from the stupid commercial food is solid, definitely getting it to go next time.

We said no sweet sauce and they still put sweet sauce. We wanted extra garlic sauce and they put none. Instead they charged extra for sauce? Then we found hair in the food. Worst location ever.

One of Best hummus and side ingredients in the city in my personal opinion.
Always clean and you can taste the freshness

Update. The Trio Wrap is Delicious

It makes me sad to have to change a 5-star review to a 1-star because of a lack of social distancing. If you go here, expect to be elbow-to-elbow with the customers next to you, some leaning on the counter guard to 'supervise' their order being made. Especially disappointing to see the delivery drivers wade through the crowd to get to the front till to pick up their order.

There behaviour is very bed. I tell them you’re behaving with me very bed they said we don’t care. I am really upset. NW branch

Update: I ordered again recently. Had a very good experience this time and as always the portions are really generous and the food was delicious.
