I would give this clinic -20 stars if I could. Extremely disappointed. I showed up in -20 degree weather for my newborn son to be seen. He needs medical attention and they declined seeing him because I have not yet received a physical copy of his health card. I know his health number and have it written down, but do not yet have a physical copy. I was declined service at this clinic and my newborn son did not end up receiving the medical care he needed. I will never return to this clinic and I highly recommend nobody attends this place as they have no ethical or moral values. Nobody in Canada should be declined medical care. My partner and I are livid and sad for our child. Disgusting.

Dr. Ezaydi Murad is very strict. He can't understand simple english very well and he pretends that your the one talking properly and shouts at you. He is very unprofessional. If only I don't have pain that day. I already walked out from this clinic. No quality service. Keep away from this doctor if you can.

Took my dad for a walk in clinic here to check up on some recent concerns we had and Dr. Tarek Hawegi could not have been more absent minded and impatient and frankly rude.

Tarek came and left multiple times during the few mins that he saw us for and explicitly told us "he's very busy and has other patients to look after" while brushing aside health concerns we raised. I don't doubt that doctors are busy with many patients but his attitude and lack of care was both concerning and disheartening. Plus, who doesn't have a busy day? It felt like he was simply trying to churn through as many patients as possible, without proper attentive care, so he could just bill Alberta healthcare.

If you're looking for doctors who care about your well-being and in building doctor-patient trust, I would look to other medical clinics in the area.

Hawegi and Ali are a serious blemish on the medical community. Doctors who are interested in quick turnover so they can bill AHS to the maximum. Front desk reception more interested in playing games on their phone than listening to details of patients.

You call to make appointment and you wait 30 minutes or more for them to respond to call. Hire more help. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

Terrible terrible! Don’t care about their patients. Just do whatever they can to get paid more for their services from the government. Worst place ever! Don’t listen to their patients, don’t care about patients time, don’t care about what’s best for their patients.

Office is clean. Staff was welcoming. Dr Ali was lovely. It was very convenient there was a pharmacy attached. Would definitely recommend

I hope I can give zero star for Tarek Hawegi.he is shame for the doctor community. I don’t under stand if you are not a good human being how can you be the doctor. He is terrible, Extremely rude, does not listen to patient, refuses to provide service, absolute disgrace to the medical profession. Avoid this clinic and if not then avoid this rude person who is unfortunately calls himself a doctor!

Didn’t book appointment, just walk in, talked with reception Palvo (hope I spelled her name right), very nice lady, listened to my explanation, told me wouldn’t be long. Shortly she brought me in, I had some issues with my work, couldn’t sleep for 4 days, very stressful, doctor Shazia Ali helped me out, really solved my problem.
I want to say “thank you “.

Absolutely horrible service. Takes you around and makes you come in 6 times so you can get a single form. No communication between staff and multiple misdiagnosis. Worst clinic and worst customer service I've ever received.

I have no complaints about the clinic. I find both the front staff and the doctors are very kind. I've only called the clinic a couple of times to find out wait times or to see if they were open, and have never had to wait more than a few minutes. I found Dr. Shazia Ali very kind, compassionate, and competent; she explained everything thoroughly, and answered my questions to my satisfaction. I would definitely recommend this clinic.

Don't bother. The MOAs who work the front are very friendly, but their utter refusal to answer the phone makes dealing with this clinic infuriating. The phone doesn't even ring, goes straight to hold where I wait for a minimum of 10 minutes every single time. Most of the time it goes to voicemail after 15 minutes, and nobody ever returns the voicemail. The doctor I deal with there (my family doctor) is nothing to write home about either; it's like speaking to an empty lab coat half the time.

Guess I have to find a new doctor.

I went in with a sprained ankle on Saturday. The doctor, Shazia Ali, gave me a requisition for an x-ray to determine if I had fractured anything in my ankle, and said that she should have the result of that x-ray and call me with those results by EOD. I didn't prompt her for that offer - her plan off the get go was to call me with the results, because if there was no fracture no further action would be needed. The plan was for me to stay off of my foot until that result came in.

Saturday came and went with no call from Dr Ali - but I rationalized that maybe the clinic got busy, or the results were delayed, and she'd call when she could.

Sunday they were closed, so again, no concerns from me.

Monday came and went, and my wife was concerned that I hadn't heard back from Dr Ali. I rationalized - if she worked Saturday, maybe she had Monday off?

Tuesday morning happened without any phone call from Dr Ali. I took the initiative to call the clinic. After getting through to someone, I was told that they had the results, and had had them since Saturday, but I would need to come in to get an answer. "The Doctor does not do phone calls". Despite explaining to the person on the phone that Dr Ali SAID she would call me with the results, this person insisted that I needed to come in on my injured ankle to find out the results. They told me that I had to come in on a walk-in basis as there were no appointments available. I pleaded with her to just ask Dr Ali to call me with the results. She said she would pass along the message, but insisted that I would not hear back from her. I heard nothing back.

So Wednesday I took the afternoon off of work to come in on my injured ankle. I waited a half an hour to see Dr Ali. What do you know, I don't have a fracture, so the taking the time off work to come and visit Dr Ali served me no purpose, but let her clinic charge AHCIP for an additional walk-in visit for my injury.

I'd recommend finding a doctor who sticks to their commitments and doesn't try and milk you for every opportunity to bill.

I have been very happy with the services at Shawnessy Medical Clinic and Dr. Ali! She is timely, very friendly and extremely helpful. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Ali if you are looking for a family doctor.

Honestly one of the worst experiences at a walk in ive ever had i called right when they opened at 9 waited on the phone for 20 min she answered and hung up right away i called again she said t here was no appointments and to walk in at 12, I come in at 12 and they tell me that they dont have room for anyone else and they said they dont give times over the phone (so lied to me), extremely frustrating as I was extremely sick

Shazia Ali should not be a doctor. She does not listen to our concerns and is rude. Patients are supposed to be heard and treated with respect and love.

If you are looking for a doctor to be able to book in a timely fashion then I would look elsewhere. You often have to do a walk in appointment to get in. The doctors tend to be quick and efficient when you get in to see them. Booking an appointment is usually arduous as you wait on hold for sometimes up to 30 mins.

Dr Ali, is the most arrogant and judging dr.who doesn't take time to listen at all. Please never go yo her gor serious health issues and doubt her expertise.
Me and my family have been going to this clinic and our family dr Hawegi is really great, but needed a woman dr, and saw dr Ali for few appointment and worst existence ever.

This was the 8th clinic I tried out of desperation to get a walk in appointment to (all of which other clinics said they were done taking walk in’s for the day- around 4 pm). When my husband called, the receptionist was so friendly and helpful and said they would take us as a walk in. I was going to have to take my son to urgent care and I was saved hours of waiting because they were able to see us. I was treated so kindly from the receptionist, doctor and the pharmacist. So many times I’ve gone to medical clinics/urgent cares only to be treated not very kindly, or to have doctors not really care. You will be treated professionally and respectfully here!

Doctor was extremely disrespectful and judgemental, she clearly doesn't care about her patients and doesn't attempt to hide it.

This doctor is the worst doctor I have ever seen. I have been battling an ongoing infection for the past 7 months and she hasn't done ANYTHING to help me. I feel like the health system has really let me down. I can't believe the rudeness she has in her and the way she just shuts everyone off when they want to say something - it's almost like you're afraid to ask about your personal health. She is literally unbelievable. I have wasted hundreds of dollars on this infection and she couldn't care less. All she says is the same thing, although she has NO scientific data to prove it. Unbelievable how she became a doctor, do they give diplomas to everyone now?

Went there, it was not packed, 2 people, waited one hour noon to 1 pm, standard, on a Tuesday, no complains there. They asked me if I wanted a prescription or something else, something else. Then they said doctor was going to lunch and won't see me and to come other day.

Any experience I have at this clinic is nothing short of terrible. Specially Dr. Ali is the rudest doctor I have ever met. She is arrogant, argumentative and lacks any bedside manners. Do not recommend this clinic but especially avoid Dr. Ali at all costs.

One of most knowledgeable doctors I have ever seen. Dr. Suma took care of my wife when she was pregnant. She is very thorough and leaves no stones unturned when coming in to investigation. You sure can trust her.

Usually I don’t write reviews even if something goes below the expectations! But this place doesn’t fit even below the expectation from reception service to the doctors.
My wife had follow up appointment on her xray, my wife phoned them to make it online due to symptoms might be related to covid as she wants to do her job to protect our community but seems this place is not doing their part though nor they care about our people.
So they have not following up with us more than a week then we phoned them back and turns out my wife had a piece if glass in her finger and those doctors not caring about something may go even worse, they only need her in person to charge our generous med service another 100$ dollar.
Those doctors are shame to medicine ethics and responsibilities towards human being.
Please try to avoid them as much as you will be able to do so and read other reviews to understand what I am saying

If I can give Dr Ali a zero I would. My husband was having stomach pain. We had a call and her attitude wow. She wouldn’t listen to me and cut me off then she gives me over the counter med. Don’t you think we did that already. Will never go to the clinic ever again

I had to go to the walk in a couple of times recently and I really appreciated the patient care. Great clinic from the reception to the doctors.

We’ve been going to Shawnessy Medical for over 10 years with Dr. Ezadi as our main doctor. We’ve had nothing but excellent care and service. He’s proactive, listens well and has excellent feedback for us. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for family care.

Dr. ALI just a aweful doctor. No manners no patience very rude. Alwats cut off. Never listen to you but gives you opinion on her own assumption. She things she a supirior than others and dont care her job. I went tgere few time and i figuerd it out this is not the place to come amd concern about health which is very inportant. Tried to fit in thi environment but there is soooo many good place out there. Do not take mentally harrasment from her.

If you can, avoid this clinic. We went as a walk in, the female doctor was rude and i didn't trust her diagnosis. I am not planning on coming back to this place.

Dr. Ali is truly one of the best! I have been going to her for close to 5 years and even after moving to the far north of the city i will continue to drive to see her in the south. Any patient of Dr. Ali's should feel extremely fortunate, i know i do. The Support staff is always friendly and willing to help. Thank you Shawnessy Medical Clinic!

My experience with Dr. Ali was beyond disappointing. I had a meet and greet with my pregnant wife today and the Doctor’s attitude was atrocious. She doesn’t allow people to speak and belittles people when speaking to them.

She is rude and unprofessional. My wife has decided to not take the 11 week test to detect any abnormalities but I inquired about the pros and cons of taking one. The doctor’s response and I quote was “ I am not going to waste my time explaining it if she has opted not to take it”

I found this extremely unprofessional as it is her job as a Doctor to educate her patients, guide them, and allow them to weigh their options.

I encourage others to review the other reviews about this doctor and management to look into this matter since it seems to happen frequently.

I am new to the province and will be looking for another family doctor.

I have been coming here with my family for 5 years to see dr. Ali. In all this time she has not helped with any issues. She is impersonal as well as unprofessional. She cuts you off when you speak and is not interested in your concerns.

Also, she charges $75 to fill out a 5 minute form. She has taken hundreds from me over a few years. Thanks for nothing.

Worst clinic I have ever called. Not once have they helped me out or showed any type of professionalism or interest in seeing a patient.

Worst receptionist team I have ever dealt with and doctors are not nice either. Try to push meds on you without explaining them and get mad when you ask questions.

I've been coming here for a few years with ups and downs but the cons have finally overweighed the pros, I'd recommend saving yourself the grief and going somewhere more professional.

Dr Ali is an insult to female doctors. A few years ago, I fainted during an exam due to anxiety. Instead of comforting me as a health professional should, she yelled at me to get up and get myself ‘together’. She then left me in the room by myself hardly conscious and said I was free to go. I hadn’t even had the exam yet! The nurse was nice enough to come in and see if I was ok, but was ill prepared to handle something this basic in a health professionals office. I didn’t post this review any sooner, because I figured it wasn’t worth my time, but as I continually search for a new family doctor, the trauma of this appointment is surfacing again. It is disappointing to have someone represent female professionals in this manner.

Been waiting an hour and half for a child to see a doctor for a cold. Can't believe it. Should go to a hospital at this rate.

Don't waste your time and health on this clinic. It was quick, but I prefer to wait longer and get better results. The doctor wasn't helpful, I visited another one today and the information provided was opposite and what is more important - finally helpful.

Dr Ali is my doctor. Any issue I've gone to her with has been diagnosed and solved quickly and effectively. I find all the staff to be extremely kind and helpful. Very nice clinic.

Dr Ali is my family doctor, very compassionate and understanding. She is always available and welcomed me to call when in need or have questions. Service is great and the staff are very welcoming and never make me wait for anything and always willing to help. I have also seen Dr Hawegi, a few times, through walk-in and he is also very kind and professional.

Would give it zero stars if I could. Doctor knew we were on our way in and we were assured that someone would be around to assist my wife in a time of need. We show up and the Doctor had “just left”. This public servant knew we were on our way and chose to leave instead — some Doctor! Absolutely disgusting service.

In comparison to Get Well Medical Clinic, I would give Shawnessy 10 stars if i could. I car as a walk-in for medicine, and was in a room within 5 minutes and out with a prescription within 10. The staff is incredibly kind and has great time management. I would highly recommend coming here.

Dr Ali super awful. Don't know how to talk. Rude. Very attitude. She is not taking patient worries regarding problem She is giving tension. Why she is even a docter. Please humble request don't go there if you have your respect. Super Zero star. Very disappointed.

Short wait times and respectfull staff. Every time I went or took my daughters, they were able to diagnose the issue/sickness from the first visit and prescribe the correct medication.

Dr Ali is the best.patient, kind and understanding.she makes me feel very relaxed each time i visit and my 16 month old absolutely loves her gentle touch.

As years go by the doctors here get worse and worse, my doctor is Dr. Hawegi, he was kind and nice at the beginning, not anymore, I went in with depression and anxiety I went with him as per my employer request, he was rude and didn't stop treating me bad until I broke in tears which I was trying not to do since I was there with my kid and I didn't want her to see how I was feeling.
A few weeks after I went back since I learned I am pregnant, the first thing he asked in a very rude manner was; "how do you know you are pregnant? " Like I'm stupid, I am a woman, I know when I am pregnant, he is bad, rude and careless.
And another bad doctor there, Dr. Shazia Ali, I was a victim of obstetric violence by her, I sent an email to the clinic, they said they would speak to her, I never knew if they did, she never apologized nor the clinic sent a confirmation email afterwards.
Don't go here.

Went one day right after work and there was no line, it was a miracle. The doctor was also very kind and efficient, got out of there in less than half an hour.

This place doesn’t even deserve the 1 star. Absolute horrible place to go. Went in there to get my ear looked at as I believe I have an infection (because it’s giving me extreme pain). Waited over 45 minutes for the doctor to come in and guess what, he never did! Walked out after the 45 minutes, what a waste of time. It’s not the first time I’ve had problems with this place, knowing their service the doctor would have probably looked at my ear and said it’s fine. Strongly encourage you to go somewhere else and not waste your time!

By all means DO NOT SEE Dr Ali Sazhia (female doctor). My high blood pressure medication (Valsartan) was being recalled and i need a replacement.i run out of medication and i need one today - friday.she freaking wants me to come back on monday to see my family doctor.she said that my family wants to see me for the change of medication.i told her that was the reason why i came to the clinic for my medication because i was told to do so.at first she resisted and she also said that she has already seen my sore throat problem.however i insisted and she asked the nurse to take my blood pressure and it was 178/100. DR Ali you are just stressful and you can kill a patient by just talking to you.you are horrible and i'm very sorry for calgary or canada for having you.be professional and be compassionate about your patients need.another thing, there was already a mandate about the recall, why would this clinic ask your patient to see the doctor? The pharmacy already sent a message to the doctor to replace it. CLEARLY YOU JUST NEED TO SEE THE PATIENT SO YOU CAN BILL OUT. My pharmacist told me that other family doctors never had any issue responding to the request. The family doctors never had to see their patient. What if the patient is out of town/province? Would Shawnessy Medical Clinic still need the patient to fly back to Calgary and see the doctor? Such a stupid idea.
