Shawnessy Nails Time Spa

I have been going to this salon for almost 7 years. I love the staff they are very friendly and listen to me carefully for my needs. It is also a very clean salon. I have recommended this place to my friends and whenever ever they come to Calgary they come to this salon. Jessie never failed to give the best job. There are also other ladies who I have gone to and have gotten excellent manicures and pedicures. I just have to show them a design and they do a fantastic job. Never have I gotten polish outside the nail bed. They always apply them carefully. Every time I get a new set of nails, I can't wait to show it off as they do an excellent job. I highly recommend this place. For me and my family, we love going to this salon for many years. All in all, fantastic salon - highly recommended.

I enjoy my visits to Shawnessy Nails Time Spa. Everyone is very friendly and courteous. I am not one to stick to the same color or design on my nails, and each technician I have visited has been up for the challenge. My nails are often compliment on after my visits. The Spa is very punctual with their appointment times; I am hardly ever kept waiting. I’m very pleased to have found a consistently good and enjoyable nail salon.

My daughter and I went to get out nails done for her birthday and I wish we hadn't gone here. We were rushed through, and neither of us are happy with our nails. We both got a new set and likely will have to go somewhere else to have them redone this week because they look so bad. The shaping isn't good, they are uneven and too thick in spots, they are rough on some edges, and the polish looks streaky. Super disappointed that a birthday treat turned out like this. What a waste of money!

I walked in to see if they had time for a pedicure and gel nail fill. To my surprise they could do both before they closed and I was super happy about that. My pedicure was amazing; I had a Ukrainian young lady who did a FANTASTIC job removing my calluses and shaping my nails. He massage was amazing g as well. I highly recommend her!
My gel nail fill was another story; the gentleman who did them said it was going to be $60 for a gel fill. I found this quite expensive but still agreed. When I came in, my nail shape was straight square and I asked him just to shorten them a bit but keep the shape. He completely ruined the shape by angling in the sides so they ended up being a coffin shape. A week later one nail had lifted and broken off and two others were cracking in the sides. This happened because they were WAY too thin. Had I known they would be so thin to the point of breaking I certainly wouldn’t have paid $60 for a cheaply done fill.

I am very impressed with this salon. Firstly they use sterilized equipment for each person each individually wrapped. I don’t see that often. Secondly a very lovely and friendly environment. Tina was gentle, patient and kind. She did a great job on my manicure. Definitely going back! Love the vibe here!

I got to do my manicure with Nancy today. She was nothing but amazing with the design. She was way too meticulous and made sure to address my needs. I'm pretty glad that she was my artist today.

If u ever visit the spa, don't think twice to get your nails done by her.

The only thing is that I was the last person there, with an appointment and since they were closed already, they hurried everything, I loved the results but I’ll go earlier next time.

Very bad service, duplicating appointments just to get more business on peoples time. Owner extremely disrespectfull

This place is terrible; we went for pedicures and they cut my foot and didn’t even care. I will NEVER go back here.

It was my first time getting my nails done, and I had an amazing experience! I was able to show the nail tech some inspiration so they could create some original nail art.

Got a manicure with shellac done on Saturday, March 25th and the shellac is still looking and on great; no chips. Very polite service from both the nail tech and the receptionist. The nail tech was very accommodating with meeting my requests for nail art as best as she can.

I highly recommend and look forward to hopefully coming back again sometime!

I was disappointed with the experience here and don’t intend to return.
I booked well in advance for a manicure and pedicure as a special treat for myself and my young daughter.
Between the day I booked the appointment online and the day of the actual appointment, they called me on two separate occasions to tell me I no showed for my appointment. I never actually no-showed, they just entered the booking incorrectly into their system twice. (My emailed booking confirmation from Nails Time clearly shows that I booked the correct date.)
Then, when we arrived for the service (adult mani/pedi and a kids mani/pedi), the man at the counter politely said hello, but woman standing with him immediately told me that I’d have to pay full adult prices for my child, because she was too old for the kids prices. I told the woman that my daughter is only 10 (the services menu lists kids prices as 12 and under), and she dropped the subject. It was a pretty awkward start to the appointment, and didn’t improve.
The service I booked is advertised on the website as taking 70 minutes, in reality, it took less than 25. It was obvious that they were overbooked and trying to get us out of the way to make room for the next clients.
For the pedicure, there were none of the niceties you would expect… no filing, no callus removal, nothing. It was literally just a two minute soak in too-hot water, followed by bit of lotion and nail polish.
For my manicure, they filed so roughly, they dug into my skin and days later, my finger is still painful.
For my daughter, same barebones minimal pedicure (which is fine, since the price point is lower), but she requested nail art on her fingers and was immediately told no, because “it’s too expensive”. Frankly, it’s not for them to decide if it’s too expensive. That’s for the person paying the bill to decide. By that point, though, we were both so disappointed, and it was such an uncomfortable experience, that we paid the bill and left. In the end, i paid for a 70 minute mani/pedi experience for my daughter and I, but actually received 25 minute of awkwardly being rushed out the door, plus a not-yet-healed abrasion on my pinky finger. Not a good experience.
