Sheep River Falls

Wonderful drive. Didn’t expected this much scenic drive that too near from Calgary. The waterfall is also very attractive. There are plenty of parking spaces. There wont be any restaurant’s near by also no network

Nature! Watch for bighorn sheep and free roaming cows and cowboys herding them. Amazing walking options

Come here just to step away from the day to day grind! Very relaxing and great camping too!

Nice place for a wedding photo op! A lot of canvas painters in the area taking notes of the scenic views.

What a beautiful little oasis outside the city. I found some wonderful moments of calm here. The falls are gorgeous.

It's advisable to buy pass online before going, for us we were confused bcz all the way we were not able to locate information office to buy.
Washroom is decent.

I wish there more benches to sit.
Otherwise do grab camping chairs.

Absolutely beautiful! I read that there’s a kilometre hike to see the falls but maps sent us to where you can reach it in a minute from the parking lot. Water is cold all year round. There’s a nice spot for day camp/ picnic. Make sure to buy Kananaskis Provincial Park pass ahead of time. There’s no cell signal in the area.

Love love love this falls. Absolutely stunning! It’s like a hidden gem near Calgary. Even the drive to the destination is so beautiful. If you are stressed out, just observe the sound of the falls for few minutes, you feel so rejuvenated.

Way way better than I was expecting. Great hike through the trees to the bridge (going north from the falls) and fantastic views. Water is so clear and chill that it's impossible not to jump in. Lots of parking and many spots to have a picnic while listening to the sound of the river. Can't wait to go back.

Another amazing Alberta experience. Highly recommend a visit to anyone when you are in the Diamond Valley area. So much to see and do in this area. Great trails, picnic spots and sights.

Beautiful little spot with hiking and areas to sit and enjoy the falls and the river. If you happen to drive through Turner Valley, stop by and have lunch at some at the Chuckwagon Cafe!

Was a great place all in all. We got a good spot even though we can mid day. Quiet and no worrisome behaviours. Everyone was quiet respectful of peoples spaces. Had a great time. Each spot is quiet large with a fire pit and table and can accommodate upto 10-15 people easily.

Gorgeous park. Has very few picnic tables so bring ur own chairs and such. Has some parking, id say for at least 30 cars. You NEED A DAY PASS FOR KANANASKIS! By the time u reach the kananaskis sign there is no reception so please remember as the forest rangers are out and about quite frequently. The road there is curvy and narrow. Watch out for stray cattle as they roam free and coming around a corner u can encounter them. The water at the falls is cold but for the adventurers out there it's not too bad for a quick dip. Bring good shoes and a great camera!

Was short walk from parking lot. Very beautiful! You can walk right down close to the falls.

An alternative to popular Elbow Falls. Very similar look n feel.
Maybe busy on weekends.

Great place to visit. It was a scenic drive with lush green mountains and fields. Careful drive is recommended due to live stock on your way.
Easy access to the fall. Not recommended for people with disabilities.

Cascading falls about 8 min walk from the parking lot or you can walk from Indian Oil parking lot. There is an outhouse in the location and picnic tables.

This is a must on this road. There is a parking lot and picnic area, or you can sit on a bench and enjoy the waterfall. The protruding boulders are a great place to take pictures. There is also a tree growing horizontally on the edge of the cliff.

Beautiful river and falls. Great place to take your kids to. It has lots of shallow waters along the river banks where the kids or pets can safely play.

Parking here requires the Alberta Parks Conservation pass. Strongly recommend buying it in advance online before leaving home. The nearest visitor center which sells this pass is quite far away from here and there is zero cell phone reception, so it can't be bought online after reaching here either.
