Facility is old. Heater in suite is LOUD and kept us up the night. 2 of the bedside plugs didnt work, one of the bed sidelights doesnt work. Shower also doesnt work. Awful stay the only one good part is the water park slides are fun, hot tub was hot enough but it's so busy with kids. Disappointing stay for a "4 star" hotel.
We chose this hotel because of the waterpark slides and it didnt dissappoint. My kids had so much fun. The Splash Cafe was very convenient, fast service, and staff are very friendly especially towards the kids. Food quality is also really good here surprisingly. The room we got is far from the elevator as per prior request. Now on the negative side of things, despite being a member of Marriott, the room we got is dated compared to the pictures on the website as advertised. It's very small. No microwave. No robes readily available. No view at all. It is almost blocked by their building itself. It was pretty bad. Guest services take a long time answering the phone. I have stayed at other Marriott hotels and had a really good experience, except for this one. We ate at Colors Bistro for breakfast and it took more than one hour to get our food. The staff were very friendly and apologetic though. Almost everyone waited that long so they gave the customers a staff discount to make up for the wait time which I find very nice. The staff at the lobby are friendly as well. Washrooms in there are very clean and well-kept.
I'm leaving a one star review because given today's dependency on the Internet limiting traffic to something that was available 20 years ago over cell service (1-2Mbit/s or less than 0.5Mb/s) is not acceptable. I have stayed at the hotels that don't try so hard to impress that had Internet orders or magnitude better, with no extra charge. Here we don't even have an option to pay for faster service.
Not an option for me to stay here again.
P. S. Rooms are good and service is ok. Haven't tried the bar/restaurant.
Rooms are just as expected - tidy with clean linens. Everything has an upcharge - access to waterslide/pool and room service. Location is central with access to many eateries.
Just stayed here.the room was great.ac was loud but i'd rather have loud ac than no ac.the pool was wildly overpacked to double capacity and nobody seamed too upset about it.might have been a bit of bad luck but our stay was punctuated with too many loud guests in the hallways.kept us from getting a proper sleep.if they enforced quiet time and pool safety it would've made a big difference
I have mixed feelings. The staff and service was great. The hotel and rooms…not so much! Very old building. Rooms are brown and dull. The old mattresses gave us severe backaches and we had to walk around with icy hot patches the rest of the week. The scented shampoos and other products gave me severe allergies…very strong masculine scent. Thanks to the staff for making this place bearable.
It’s been a place we stayed at when we visited Banff. Very close to airport, several restaurants and coffee shops nearby and a nice hotel with ample parking. Most noteworthy feature is the pool, kids love it and have fun here…great place to stay with family!
One of the ballrooms it's gorgeous, staff are decent dressed and friensly. I am dissatisfied they didn't offer help to the hotel group across the street then there was a fire at 6.30 AM but maybe there are rules?
I personally enjoyed the amount of space in the rooms, the free offerings in the room, and the amenities (water slides!). What made our experience incredible was our server Maria in Henry’s Pub. Aside from how professional she was, she was pure joy and wonderful to chat to while we were on our vacation.
Can't say I had a complaint. Did not get to try out any of the facilities other than the room however it was clean, well stocked and as advertised. Besides three homeless people shooting up in the underground parking lot it was good.
Omg im so sorry about my other review I was a mistake! I wanted to see how long i could go and if i could say what it would say like “keep it coming”. But overall it was good except the pool makes ur itch!
Just stayed here for 2 nights and it was beyond my expectation! The hotel is beautifully renovated, had a lot of great amenities and the overall stay was great. Highly recommend!
Had a meeting in board room. The place was great (Clean, coffee, tea, pop,). We where there for the how day. At lunch there was no pub, restaurant, in the facility that was open. I know its mid week and labour shortages. We had to go out to eat. Other than that it's a good clean place. Hope Pub and restaurant start to open during mid day. Maybe next time.
We had a great stay. We told them that we were staying for our 5 year anniversary and when we arrived they made a beautiful chocolate arrangement for us. It was so thoughtful. Definitely recommend this place.
The rooms are fine but in the pool the life guards are usually up in an area where you dont have easy access to somebody in need and dont supervise slides so injury can be common! They sit up in a glass enclosed area with stairs down to the pool if they needed to even help somebody! I'd say they need more staff.
Clean well maintained property. Comfortable rooms and amenities. Friendly staff smooth check-in. Pet friendly was important with this stay and Sheraton and staff exceeded expectations.
Courteous staff. Excellent suites. The club lounge on the eighth floor for breakfast, periodic snacks/drinks & evening hot & cold appetizers are also great. The water slides/ pool & hot tubs are a big hit with my grandchildren too. Plenty of parking for the people driving is an added feature comp6to same quality downtown hotels.
The front desk staff were very friendly, comfortable bed and pillows, clean rooms. Service and food in the pub was good. We had some problems with our van, as well as some other issues not related to the hotel. The manager Grant went above and beyond helping us find the resources we needed to deal with our issues. Truly we got treated like family. Would definitely recommend.
Great hotel to stay in with kids. Clean and affordable. Friendly staff and comfortable beds. Swimming pool park was awesome. 2 Jacuzzis, small pool for toddlers, main pool and 2 slides. Great fun for kids. Breakfast is also served here at one of the restaurants. Delicious. We'll be back!
Like most places during covid the hotels are on a skeleton crew. Check in i was fourth in line with only 1 person to check people in (15-20 min wait). The hotel rooms are beautiful and spacious, beds are super comfortable with nice linnens. The rooms are very warm and welcoming. The shower was horrible low water flow took almost 10 min to get hot water and it had a loud annoying drip that i had to put a towel down on the floor of the shower at night to not keep me awake. If they can fix the low pressure shower i would highly recommend this hotel. If they cant and you enjoy getting out of a shower feeling clean dont stay here.
I usually stay here when in Calgary, this time was a little different with Covid life. Carvers steakhouse was closed so I was disappointed to miss out on that experience this time. Also at about 430 am someone had their little dog in the hallway and it wasn't happy. This is not a problem with the hotel but it did take away from the experience as a whole.
This hotel badly needs renovation. The furniture in the rooms are old and the TV is the smaller and older than most tv in households. It is like a first gen LG LCD 32" TV. It is that old.
On the plus side, the staff and prices in Henry's Pub is very resonable.
Great Beds, comfy; huge parking lot. Pool, bah.breakfast none; noisy third floor with kids running arnd till 10pm. Small number of slot machines downstairs in the bar.
It was a good stay, I wish I could have explored a little more but I was pre-occupied with a little flat tire incident. Didn’t get a chance to try dinner here. Staff were awesome, social distancing and masks were all in place. I was upgraded to a nice suite. Rooms were excellent and comfy. Breakfast was superb.
The only minor drawback: charging port on the clock wasn’t working, I only realized this after waking up to an almost dead phone.
We had a business trade Christmas party at the McKnight room. Service was amazing. Bar staff was super friendly and everything was delat with by the staff. Everyone had a amazing time.
We had a amazing time here. Christmas Eve we arrive late, and the staff still let us grab some food. Santa also came, we found a stocking on the door. The staff had a gingerbread house contest and guest were allowed to vote. Pretty cool.
Rooms are nice staff friendly but that's the problem. We have 10 to 20 kids running up and down the hallway playing hide and go seek and tag. Also had people sitting out in the hallways drinking and blocking the hallways. We placed a complaint and they did nothing about it. Won't go back.
Wedding at this place was Superb! Spacious and clean. Photo shoots at entrance and family/guest tables near Dance floor & separate Dining. Optional Wedding Suite offered, Good food selections
Nice hotel near shopping and restaurants, also quality food and mini store in hotel. Multiple hot tubs, kiddie pool and swimming pool with 2 slides inside the hotel on the second floor. Entrance near elevator, have to look for it. In the pool area there are towels and refreshment kiosk. Would make a return visit.
I stayed at this hotel during a work assignment in Calgary. Biggest plus point is location - 15-20 mins from both downtown Calgary & the airport. As far as ambience, food, staff, & amenities are concerned - I would rate it 10/10
Nice rooms, friendly front desk staff. Gym is clean and ample of machines. About a 10 min walk to Sunridge Mall, also Wendy’s is next door and McDonald’s across the street.
A bit old fashion from the outside, but very clean and nice spacious rooms, bed where very good, even the futon was good to sleep. Nice bar and restaurant on site, and a lot of options just walking distance from the hotel
• Carvers Steakhouse • 28 year wedding anniversary dinner along with our friends who were celebrating their 35 year wedding anniversary. The food and service was excellent, price to value was terriffic and decor / ambience was quite refreshing. Highly recommended for any dining occasion.
Fantastic property, great access to YYC, comfortable, clean and well maintained guest rooms, as well as excellent front desk staff! Look forward to my next stay
This was my second time staying at the Sheraton Cavelier. The hotel has all the usuals plus a pretty nice pool to relax but it's only open to 10 PM. The standard rooms are somewhat spacious but the TVs are pretty small by today's standards.
Outstanding service, comfortable rooms, good for airport connect.very tired looking building and worn out common areas though great effort in the lobby to revamp thinga
Bad part of town. Had batteries stolen off my camper. I parked right under a security camera. Didnt help. Managment told me that they were sorry to hear. But refused any type of compensation.
