Shoppers Drug Mart

Possibly the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. An item showed in stock at this location online, I showed an associate a photo and asked if he could locate them. He said he didn’t know how to locate anything in the store so I had to wait to talk to someone else. Stood there and waited and this other guy didn’t even acknowledge me. I then asked a lady with red hair from the beauty section if she could help. She was very rude and dismissive and said the website is never accurate, and walked away from me before I was even finished talking.

This pharmacy does not follow up on their faxes to the Dr. The Dr.wrote a prescription that did not meet their formula for getting refills. When I first filled the prescription there were 3 refills. They said they would fax the Dr.and let him know the requirements 1 month ago. Needless to say when I went in today 1 month later they hadn’t resolved the situation with the Dr. They did fax again today but I had to email and call the office myself. It is the Pharmacies job to clarify the correct way to write the prescription with the Dr. Not Me! So here it is the long weekend and I do not have the medication. The med can be filled at 30 day intervals. This is the second time they have done this. The Dr.is very annoyed with this Pharmacy because clearly I am not the only one experiencing this issue. Now I have to make another appointment (that someone else could use for something other than a refill) with the Dr.and suffer until I can actually get an appointment. No, I’m not going to the ER for a refill. This pharmacy is not helping the Health Care Crisis we have. Do better!

Thoroughly disappointed with this location. We have had so many bad experiences at the pharmacy here we have moved all our prescriptions to somewhere else.

The negative experiences started when I had told them to not setup auto refill for a new prescription because I needed to see how I reacted to it and wasn't sure if I would need more - they auto-refilled it anyway and then kept calling at bad times (early AM, mealtimes, etc.) to tell me to come get it. Even after telling them repeatedly that I wouldn't need it due to a bad reaction they kept calling me multiple times over almost a month telling me to come get it to the point I just quit answering the phone.

Also had issues when having Dr fax prescriptions to them that they provided the wrong number multiple times before providing one that Dr's office could successfully fax to (and it was a very different number from the original so not like someone was just messing up the number a little bit).

Went in to get a blood glucose monitor (using a coupon from the company for free monitor if I bought test strips and lancets). They gave me an outdated version of the monitor AND the test strips they sold me didn't even work with the version of the monitor they gave me!

Latest was needing a vaccination and even booking the appt a month ahead of time, they acted like they were unprepared and didn't know they would need to do it (they then even had to confirm they had someone on site who could do them). Then when we needed a follow-up dose 3 months later, we showed up and they didn't even have it in stock! (again this was after booking appt almost 3 months ahead so they could be prepared). I get the impression they don't actually keep track of any vaccination appointments and just do them ad-hoc as people show up - at which point why even have a way for people to book?

At this point we have decided that all this location may be good for is for the post office and the odd bottle of shampoo or tube of toothpaste, but definitely will never use this pharmacy again.

Very good customer service, pharmacist aamir is very helpful and also the staff: Nancy and Anjali were very helpful.

Best pharmacy staff in red deer. All pharmacists are very helpful and knowledgeable. Pharmacy staff go above and beyond for there patients.

If I could give less than one star I would.
These pharmacists and helpers are rude, lie about when your meds will be ready by hours, they hang up on patients, on nurse next door, will not apologize, and do not fill prescriptions properly. They are the worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with.
Go anywhere but this pharmacy.

Absolute joke. Zero customer service skills after 5 pm. Waiting 90 minutes in a chair waiting for meds that are needed. And they stop helping to help other people!

This Store is one of the best in town. During covid-19 time they helped with full store. Covid testing easily could be done at this location. All the Pharmacists and Owner are really helpful and efficient.

Friendly staff. Store is a little dingy looking, mainly the floors, they need to be properly stripped and refinished. Notice this In most shoppers.
