Really not impressed w today’s service.
A fabulous SD employee notified me that the store had icing sugar in and on sale today. Hoped in my car and drove down and I will admit I took it all since on sale and needed in the next week (cake baker) … not hoarding for months!
Received some very rude glances and comments from a “Linda” acting like a Karen. Scanned one then made the effort to call her boss to see if I could purchase 10 bags! There was no limit on my purchase. Made her opinions very known on how it was rude I take it all and hoard it to prevent others from purchasing. Really an employee should not be expressing personal opinions especially when I am entitled to purchase those quantities. Really hope this employee Linda receives a few words … completely treated a customer very poorly.

I phoned the Cochrane Pharmacy on November 11th at 12: 50 PM to check to see if my prescriptions were ready. A lady picked up the phone and asked in a very (short) annoyed-agitated tone. "Can you please hold". I was on hold for 25 minutes until I hung-up. I phoned back again, and a pleasant gentleman picked up right away.

To the irritated lady who initially picked-up the phone. Learn some soft skills and work on your manners. You're in a customer service role. If you don't like your job, quit and move-on so somebody more deserving can have your role. This is the second (and last) time I've had an issue with this location.

It has been awhile since I went there, but it seems like it has not changed. I had to go to pharmacy 2 times a month. Seems easy, but they could not get it right even 2 yrs in, they would blame everyone, and then take alone time because 3-4 people are all standing around nodding, listening to 1 person. While a line forms, to get to counter, then told to wait while they “helped”. Sunset pharmacy is a great place I have been there years and no problems. Why. Just Better experience, they care shoppers do not care.

I'm disabled. I just moved here. This is twice the female pharmacist has not filled my prescriptions properly. This has caused me MORE medical issues! I am being hospitalized now. DO NOT GO HERE! Find another pharmacy.

I went there for a passport photo for my PR renewal application and it got rejected today. I have all proof with me. Worst place. Don't go there. My PR card is now expired, don't know what to do.

Edited - Seems like I got some lukewarm response below to cover up everything. So now it's important to go in detail.

I went to the Cochrane Shoppers Drug Mart for a passport size photo which was needed for my Permanent Resident application renewal. Photo was taken against a window background (yes there was a screen behind me, but way too small to compared to window size). Both photos came out as very dark. I questioned and response was, 'photo is all ok and we can't edit it since that against the requirements'. Considering the oversized billboard sign outside, I let it go and trusted brand reputation.

Two months later, got email from the IRCC that my application has been rejected due to photos not upto the requirements.

Seriously are you really working to practice photography? I do have all proof such as receipt, CC statement, photograph with stamp and a refusal email.

And read what a stupid response I got below. Damm not even a free second photos. Just pass it on and make money.

Worst and the most worst place for your passport size photograph. Don't even think of going here. You will only end in my situation where I am now already past my PR card expiry date.

Won't let it go so easily, wait few more reviews are coming up online.

I would like to give a special shout out to the pharmacy assistant Patricya! When it was discovered that my prescription had not been faxed by the clinic she got on the phone today with them and told them to confirm the fax was sent this time since the fax failed last time. Then she took the time to phone to let me know they received the fax and asked what time I would like to pick up my prescription. This was awesome, accommodating and appreciated. I've also had the pharmacists help me when I've had difficultly getting in to see my GP for prescription refills by giving a small supply to get by. On another note, I always get great service from the Beauty team! I've been going to Shoppers for years for a reason. Thank you!

It just doesn’t get any worst, or at least I hope not! Same experience as others in terms of them claiming to not have received fax prescription and blaming it on the doctor. This has occurred no less than 4 times to me. I am now switching to Fireside which I’ve heard great things about. Corporate must not care about the reviews here as the employees seem determined to let you know that they could absolutely care less about ensuring your get your meds without a huge hassle. They need to get a new owner in there and start from scratch. The lack of regard and competence could endanger people!

I've been a customer here for many years. I just called in to review and renew my prescriptions. I've taken the same medications for years now, several months ago some of them were missed when I went to pick them up. Doctor blames pharmacy, pharmacy says doctor missed prescribing them. In any case, I used to be able to get my meds prescribed and have them filled on a monthly basis all together. But things got messed up, refills are now staggered, and when I called to try to clear up the confusion the person I spoke with was less than helpful. Insisted that the records show that one of the meds I was asking about I haven't taken since last year. This was very confusing to me, and I told her there must be a mistake. She kept insisting that I don't take that medicine anymore. I told her I got a refill several weeks ago, suddenly she can see it listed in the system. Zero apology for her error. Her manner was so terse and dismissive that I was left feeling badly for having called. It shouldn't be this stressful to get my medications managed.

The Beauty staff- cosmetics side of the store are amazing. We had an amazing time today at their Gala event, where proceeds went to chairity.

Tammy the pharmacist wouldn’t prescribe Imodium! If she prescribed it I wouldn’t have to pay out of pocket. Unbelievable a medication you can buy off the shelf! But the pharmacist wouldn’t put it threw my insurance! Racist! Because it was my status card Covering it.

Pharmacy Staff were rude and dismissive. Showed zero care or customer service. Two Pharmacy or Sunset Pharmacy have amazing customer service - will be switching over. Thankfully we have other options in town.

I see that a few too many others have also experienced poor service from the pharmacists at this location. More than once I have left feeling very dismissed and made to look like I don't know what I'm asking for or talking about from the pharmacy staff. Each time, I received no apology from the pharmacists after their condescending manner when they realized they were in the wrong. On a positive note, I have always received helpful, friendly and warm service from the Beauty Boutique.

Very dismissive at the pharmacy. This is a few times using this place since it's open a bit later than others. Finally figured out for myself that it's worth waiting to go elsewhere.

DO NOT go here for passport pictures. I got them done and they had ink smudged on them because the lady didn't put them in the packaging right. One of my eyes was half closed as well but I was assured it was fine. When the pictures were rejected for my passport I took them back for a refund as the receipt very clearly told me I could, only to get told they don't do refunds only retakes.

Horrible experience at the pharmacy December 5 evening. Could tell the pharmacist wanted to get out of there fast. Only question she asked was if I checked out the cough syrup aisle. Said yes but could not find the one I was looking for as she walked fast to point out all the empty shelves then briskly walked away. Terrible experience! Would have give know the rating 0 stars as I walked away feeling absolutely dismissed.

Pharmacist here was terrible. When we needed my son's alvesco inhaler in a pinch (I was unable to get my Rx transferred from the Rexall at ACH bc they are closed holidays and weekends). The pharmacist was very unhelpful and unsympathetic stating that he was uncomfortable prescribing a 1x emergency refill of Alvesco and wanted my son and I to sit for hours at Urgent Care just to get a Rx. He tried to say he could give us ventolin, but when I explained that alvesco is a maintenance inhaler and not a vasodilator, he said he knew that.yet why would you suggest it then? He wouldn't listen when I said that we are regularly followed by the asthma clinic and don't need to be reassessed by a physician. What a waste of time and AHS resources that would have been. Not to mention that he seems to think that you can go to Cochrane urgent care and be in and out in an hour! Unfortunately I didn't catch his name (he had an East Indian accent), but his lack of empathy and unwillingness to help, was astounding. This interaction has left a bad impression for sure.

Absolutely terrible experience with Tammy the pharmacist. Phoned to confirm they could do a strep throat test. (We have three kids with sore throats with white dots). Drove an hour! Tammy berated and demanded we do a covid test and prove it was negative. So we sat in the store and tested our kids in front of her. Then after they were negative, we went to do the strep test and magically they ran out of kits! Unbelievable

Got a call from the beauty boutique manager about a possible job opportunity for me. She felt the need to say a very rude, condescending and unnecessary comment about my hours of availability which is 12 hours a day 8am-8pm. Those are the hours that work for me and my work life balance and MANY other retail jobs that I’ve had and will have would consider that acceptable. But she made it very clear that she didn’t think that my availability was good enough for ANY retail job.she could have just said she’s looking for somebody with open availability or somebody that is ok with working evening shifts till midnight to which I would have politely declined. The condescending “that’s not going to fly in retail sweety” gives me a good idea into why they are hiring and why the previous person may have left. Long story short it sounds like they are only looking for people who are willing to have an inconsistent schedule, are available 24/7 and willing to be belittled and talked down to by their direct manager. I’m glad I dodged a bullet. I have no time for incompetent rude managers.
