Shoppers Drug Mart

To the Indian cashier, who can't be older than 25 and the older white lady with brown hair and bangs, I’m letting you know that being black and shopping is not a crime. I went to the machine on Nov 18th at 12 pm and the Indian girl was hovering behind me as if I was going to steal, but ironically, did not speak or talk to any of the Indian customers or hover over them. I paid for my items, grabbed my receipt, and placed the unpaid items on the shelf directly behind the machine IN FRONT OF HER. I was thirsty and grabbed a drink and held it in my hand (I did not open it), while the paid items were in a bag you must pay for with the receipt in the other hands. The older white lady with bangs rudely asked to see my receipt, and I showed her my receipt and said I’m buying a drink. After showing her my receipt, she proceeded to watch me like a hawk and looked me up and down like I was the scum of the earth.

Stop telling people to call your assistance line and start firing people and do your due diligence in hiring staff who aren't totally pathetic and racist. Way too many reviews have the same complaint and there’s another girl, who is not black, but Muslim talking about being racially profiled. There’s no reason why people have to manage the stress of their own lives, just to be ridiculed by a cashier working minimum wage to be covertly racist. Annoying as hell.

Dropped off a script for my girlfriend here. They said it will be 30 minutes so we went to freshco for a couple things and came back 30 minutes later. She went in to get it, and they told her another 10 minutes. That was over 30 minutes ago. Very slow service and do t seem to care. We stood at the perscription drop off for about 5 minutes while the o e guy just stood there looking at us before he even came over to help. Will never go here again. The skyview IDA by my house would have been a better place. Fast and friendly. I bet they would have had it done in under 10 minutes

Again a very bad experience at medical department shoppers as promised by owner you will not get this type of experience. No solution

My husband and I went for a flu shot, my husband said that the pharmacist that injected him, injected the flu shot twice, as the first one leaks in his arms while injecting to him, so the pharmacist repeats the jab. As to me, after the vaccination, I can't lift my arm and do some basic chores at home, I can't even lift my hands on changing clothes, wipe the table or use my hand in eating as it is very painful. The injection site is way too high, it is already near my shoulders. I don't know if I got an injury due to the jab. I will see then if the pain will subside after 3days. I am hoping.

Update: its been 7months now after I had my vaccine and my arms still hurts. I went for a shoulder ultrasound and I had a minor bursitis now because of the jab. This is awful.my life changed a lot, it is not that extremely painful like before but when I over worked my right arm or lay down on my right side it gets painful again. Even carrying a light dumbell makes my right arm hurts the next day. The pain is just there, it never goes away, just living with it.

Update: my bursitis fully healed after one year.

Joti Pharmacy Assistant is extremely rude & unprofessional. Pharmacy staff is extremely slow, not sure they don’t sleep enough or they are overworked but they are never ready to help clients. I had to come 3 times for my prescription and each time they got it all wrong. Joti basically has messed up everything in system. Very unprofessional & unpleasant experience.
The management really need to train their pharmacy staff on customer service.

I called pharmacy they answered after 58 min and said hold then I was on line 72 min.finally I had to disconnect

The thing that really ticked off was i am sending a package.and i just needed a tape.im talkin a few inches, they would not let me use theirs, and i was told to buy a whole new packing tape.

Walked in got a frozen pizza for 4 dollars used self checkout took 2 seconds.while walking through the store noticed its super organized who are the haters that have this rated 2 stars. EDIT used for 2nd time today spent 43 dollars on what would of cost me at the freshco down the street this will be my new permanent place for groceries

The supervisor Denise and Amy are so rude. Even their manger is rude never say hi, even if you say hi to them. Sometimes one cashier is struggling with big line up the supervisors and other staff pretend to be busy never come to help the cashier. Ask for help their answer is I don’t know.

Pharmacist wasn’t honest with me. I was prescribed with a generic medication but it wasn’t available at the moment. They told me that if I want I can just comeback the next day because it is when it will be available, but then they also offered me the same medication with a different brand which was much more expensive. When I told them that I can’t afford the expensive one they’re offering without insurance they suddenly told me that the generic medication “that was supposed to come the next day” was never available in the market! I then asked for the prescription paper that my doctor gave me so that maybe I can get it somewhere else but they refused to do so: (so I had no choice but to get the expensive one which cost me around $160. Also, it took me more than 1 hour before I can get my expensive medication: (

Every time I visit this store I never get medicine (Advil/tynanole) for my kids, seems like not really needed or care for customer. Hmmmmp.

Disappointing Customer service. Already had insurance on their file. Dropped off prescription in the middle of the day and got the request of pickup in the middle of the day. However, During Pickup at night foundout they didnot apply my insurance during processing before and asked me to pay full because Insurance company was closed. They never checked my file during processing my prescription at the day time to apply insurance. Poor service. I paid full amount to pickup my medication.

This is the worst place someone should go I had three instances when I tried returning some stuff I bought from this store every time they had one or the other excuses which is unfortunate I don’t know why they have no certain return policy their cashiers know about they are always calling some supervisor and then no return over and over I don’t know why they are so scared to return when Walmart and Superstore have no problem

I went to drop off prescription was standing on drop off counter for 10 mins nobody came to say hii on the pick up counter there were 2 people waiting too but in pharmacy there were total 6 people including pharmacist when we gave her prescription she said one hour for one medication they need proper management of staff i would have givenn0 zero if there is an option

This place is so ridiculous. They all speak there own languages in front of customers making people feel bad. The majority of pharmacist and their assistance don’t know what they’re talking about. They will tell you to you tube it. Customers don’t come first there, as they are all in the back laughing and fooling around. Horrible place.

I went in to the pharmacy to get the rapid test done today and the people working there did not even acknowledge that there were 5-6 people in line waiting. They didn’t even look up. I waited 40 minutes before they even took the covid test (I was first in line) and then another 30 minutes to wait for results when it should only be 15 mins. Biggest waste of time, worst staff who don’t even know what customer service is.

Amazing Staff, I like The Supervisor Sarabjit. He was very helpful and polite last night whereas their shelves are always empty. Most of the time they don’t have what I need!

Staff is often rude and has disrespected my wifey. This is unacceptable to me. I have been married to her for almost three years now and I know what kind of customer she is. She is so sweet and not even mean. She's the most beautiful woman in the world and I love her.

I went to this pharmacy on March 14,2022, to buy a couple of inhalers and paid for it. When I got home, I checked its expiry, and one of the inhalers they had given me is expired (exp: March 05,2022). I went back to the pharmacy to return the inhaler, and when I asked the staff for an explanation, they said 'the system did not show that the inhaler is expired'. Why the staffs are not careful enough when they pack the medicine?

This store has very racist staff, never replies to brown people’s complaints, ignores their concerns. So basically they are okay with losing their customers. Under trained, poor customer service and racist staff.

This store has Worst customer service. And the cashier supervisor Amy was so rude. She might know how to provide good customer service. I asked her for store manager and there was no store manager in store. If there is no staff and not well trained staff it should be shut down. Never ever go to this location. Horrible customer service by Amy, customer service supervisor. Don't even know why someone put efforts to hire and make her supervisor.she has zero knowledge of customer service and not even able to put any efforts to help customer. I realize why this location rated such low review score. These guys do not think about customers and not sure what they think of by providing such a low level of service. I would give negative star in reviews but not available so had to give one star. I would recommend never go to this location ever as they are not friendly & supportive to customers.they only think about themselves. Never seen such a disappointing service in my life.

The blonde working at the beauty boutique needs to reevaluate her attitude. After I asked her if I could see the expensive gift sets, she told me the cheaper ones are by the door and I should look at those instead. She didn’t assist me in looking at the perfumes I preferred or even offered the scent card so I could try them.after I tried to walk around to look at some other options that weren’t at the “cheap” section, she sent security after me to “keep an eye”
She’s obviously not trained to be working a customer service job. Maybe try working from home where people don’t have to see you roll your eyes every 2 minutes for no reason. Disgusting attitude.

The gentleman at the pharmacy who administered my flu shot was unprofessional and made inappropriate jokes about my ethnicity, he had the audacity to call me a racist as I did not speak his mother tongue Hindi. If Shoppers drug mart Saddletown endorses the employee's words then please put up a board saying 'Only hindi speaking people are allowed here '

Poor staff

In edition to the front staff the pharmacists are very rude, when I went to get my vaccine back a few months ago they made me stand for an hour I came before everyone that I was seeing go inside I was past 1 hour of my actual given appointment they favored who they wanted to go first and it was mainly brown families that were going inside and the staff overall was no where near normal expectations
You guys should hire proper polite employees clearly which is missing from your company

There’s a reason it’s rated the lowest in the city. Besides that one guy at the post, they’re all disrespectful. Asked if they carried a perfume, without even checking I got dismissed.

The Pharmacy at this location is so SLOW! 30 to 60 minutes in line to pick up a prescription?

I was in this shoppers getting my medication and was followed around by a short fat filipino manager who listened in when I got my medications and then approached me while I was buying a drink to take my meds with asked me multiple times if I had money to pay for my drink and offered to buy it for me in a very rude and judgmental way I felt extremely humiliated in front of the other patrons and I do not think I will ever be returning to that location the pharmacists where great and extremely helpful tho

I try to avoid this store as they always make me feel like they think I’m a thief. One time I thought I would take a chance because I just needed a free form from the post office. I ran in got the form and left but they thought I stole the form and chased me out into the parking lot!

The place is so worst no customer service at all. My husband went to the pharmacy and took appointment for the COVID test 8th day for my in laws after arrival and when they went there for test the lady said we don’t do it here and they said they have an appointment she was so rude. So arrogant. I wish my husband know her name and no customer service at all

I got email again from my application of my permanent resident. They email about the picture again and again. Worst pharmacy I've been to. Super slow, even if you have an appointment you still gotta wait an hour and a half.
One week I went around 10am to get my weekly needle, but the lady told me to come around 5pm because they are super busy with appointments. And I said to them i couldn't because I had work and that was the only day I was available, so I had to miss my shot that week. Next week came, I waited an hour to get my needle done and then told me last minute that I couldn't get my shot unless I call my doctor since I missed that last week. I will admit I have missed my weekly shot before in the past with a different local pharmacy but they would always just give me the shot and not question why i missed last week and continue with the weekly shot. Like if i were to call my doctor, I bet they just say "oh well just go take it again". But I'm upset I waited there for an hour to be told last second when they should of told me in the beginning that I couldn't get my shot, just wasting my time. Horrible.

Well what can I say but this. I never visited this shoppers location before and my first time here was a great shopping experience because of a real awesome employee. AMY, and I found out after that she is a supervisor here. You have to understand where I’m going with this. She is already a supervisor and she is still willing to give greater customer service then should be expected from a person in this position. Talk about a well earned position by a hard working, honest, and exceptionally beautiful person. Thank you Amy for helping me and creating a perfect shopping experience. You are very knowledgeable about the products shoppers drugmart sells and you know exactly how a customer should be treated and that’s, an amazing quality to have. That is where you shine. I visited tyhe shoppers drug mart in Saddletowne Circle in Calgary on July 09,2021 in the early afternoon hours. I was dropping off a prescription for my autistic 8 year old son and before dropping off the prescription I spoke with the pharmacist on duty at the time and advised him that my son cannot take any falvoured medication and that we either need to have it in dissolvable tablet format or liquid that is unflavoured so we can mix it with milk and or juice and give it to him that way as otherwise he will not be able to take the medicaiton. The pharmacist took his time and advised us that the bottle does not have any flavour stated on it and that it is unflavoured so we should be good to mix it with any liquid and give the medication to our son. We picked up the medication around 5: 45 PM same day July 09,2021 and when we checked the medication it turned out to be a strong mint flavoured medication which cannot be mixed with milk or other liquids. Me and my wife went back to the pharmacy to return the medication, and this time were assisted by the pharmacist/ co-owner of the shoppers drug mart Ziad. Initially he was very reluctant and took the medication back and was not going to give back the prescription either, then he did end up giving back the prescription and said "oh you did not even pay for the medication so it does not need to be refunded" I left the store though came back 5 or so mins later around 5: 52 PM and spoke to the pharmacist intern and then he was lookijng into it and while waiitng he went into the consultation room to speak with the Pharmacist Ziad and when he came out of the room back to his desk, I overheard Ziad from the room saying "He didn't even pay for this medication, we pay the taxes we pay for his medication, not him. " I ignored the comments as I assumed he did not know I can hear him. Though moments later he barges out of the room and comes to me and says: "You're accusing me of stealing and that I'm not going to process this refund and im going to do this for only $35. I pay for your medication, in fact me and my entire staff here pay for your medication not you. I pay taxes.me and my staff pay taxes, not you, so im not obligated to process this refund and give you any proof. "When I told him he is obligated to give me proof of return, he said he is the owner and he does not have to do anything and said he can kick me out of the store and then tells me to "get out". I refused to leave and told them that if I am being asked to leave without proof then they have to call security or the police to have me escorted out of the store, otherwise I will wait until i have to for my proof of return. I later tried explaining him that this same pharmacy processed my prescription charged my insurance and then never gave me my medication, the pharmacist then said, "You're now accusing me of Fraud, get out of my store" he instructed the entire staff not to assist me. Ziad essentially refused to provide me with essential service at the pharmacy, discriminating against me based on my financial status which is completly unacceptable. I have tried calling shoppers drug mart to file a complaint but the offices were closed and I am writing this review so other patients can be made aware of what to expect when visiting shoppers drug mart Saddletowne circle in Calgary, AB.

I got my covid19 vaccine in this location but the female pharmacist who did administered it was on rushed and I feel like she did not gave me the whole 1st dose of it as when she draws it its seems like there was lot of liquid came out of it which looks unusual. Then after approx 5 minutes when she injected it to me, I did saw her leaving so I told the staff thats the reason she was rushing because she was done for the day and the staff agreed. ‍️

I really did not want to write the review but i am really disappointed, i was at the shoppers yesterday, and i used the self checkout service and and i wanted to get 2 plastic bags and i picked the option 2, after i paid the bill and i was about the leave, one of the cashier was standing right after me and said so loud and rudely that you need to pay for the bags, i know that she was doing her job but she needs to watch the way to talk to the customers and she needs to check the receipt first before her actions and when she was saying all this to me, eventually all the customers were looking at me and i felt so embarrassed, and i tried to read her name, i guess her name is amy or ami and when i said that i did and do you wanna check the receipt, she did not even apologize for her actions, but she was very rude, i work in a customer service as well, but i would prefer to think first before i speak.i really want to convey my message to the management so the future customers would not feel the same experience, honestly you need to rectify this kind of behavior in order to save the business. Literally the worst pharmacy. Always, Always tries to sell me more of my prescription. I usually pay for a 30 day supply and today I go in to get my regular supply and they try to sell me 3 1/2 months worth! Seriously if I was regularly getting 3 1/2 months worth then that’s what I would get! And then to try and justify why they made it for 100 pills! I said NO the first time and he continued to try and sell me more!

This pharmacy and pharmacists offering the COVID-19 without following the AHS guidelines. They are offering everyone not considering the ages, conditions or other factors which are mentioned clearly by Alberta Health. Last Friday, this pharmacy booked one family of six none of them were to qualify for the vaccines. Making really confusion and mess in COVID-19 vaccination by this big company.

I called in to inquiry today at around 11: 55 am to see if they have a product, ps5, the guy who picked up and said, “we don’t have it, PERIOD”. I told him, why he has to be rude, i am trying to inquiry more, he did not wanted to talk more. I requested him to provide his first name, he said, he is not oblized to give me Anything. I talked to a Supervisor named Lisa, he even didn’t know who that person was, who trasfered the call. My point is, it do not cost money to talk nicely to client, specially who is willing to spend $700 to buy product from you.

The WORST post office service ever. I never have problems sending my mail through regular mail at any other location but this is the third time it’s happened at this location. It seems that they don’t even care to try and figure things out for you. I went to a different shoppers and they were able to ship out the item fine for me. Very disappointed with this location and will not be using their postal service ever again.

I wish I could give a zero star to this location, lottery service is literally very very bad I don't know whey they just put the lottery machine system to their stores if the cant handle them. I bought a lottery from this location, first she did not gave me the lottery in my grocery bag and i did not get my receipt as well when i got home and checked my stuff my lottery ticket was not there, i went back to the store and asked for the lottery and i told them the price of my ticket and type and there was only the one lottery ticket in the counter which specify that was my lottery ticket but they did not gave back to me and said we cant gave to you at least, they could check the latest transactions. They put zero affords to resolve my issue. Which is totally unacceptable it was just an hour before incident, seriously so disappointing service.

Customer service is absolutely not there i have been on hold for 30 minutes now with not one time coming back to the phone to check on me. I called again from a second phone just for someone to do the same thing please bold then leave you there. Not impressed at all. Would give 0 stars but the option is not there. Oh BTW im still on hold if you all wanted to pick up the line.

Depending on which staff help you in pharmacy, the service can be good or bad.they don't be bothered to help customers.
Shopper's management should have a look on reviews especially for this location pharmacy. I will take my business to Safeway.

The worst Pharmacy Staff you will find there. Not courteous at all and if they refuse to give you any OTC drug; they won’t even provide any concrete reason for it; or written letter of refusal. The Owner/Pharmacist is worst person ever to deal with! Go to some local Pharmacies; they provide much better services.

Pharmacy workers are very slow, sluggish and lethargic. It takes 30-45 min to get a medication. It never takes this long at any other pharmacy.

Amazing experience, the staff was really helpful and the security guard provide outstanding customer service.

Had a few bad experiences here. Use to come here for my prescriptions. Usually the wait time is greater then 30 minutes. Also have had people mess up the prescription or not add it in the computers. Even calling in advance saying that it will be ready in 15 minutes. It rarely ever is!

Shoppers is doing an incredible job, the employees are amazing and I always excellent experienc. The guard in the evening has done an amazing job keeping things suspicious and has great customer service. As a shopper, I appreciate the efforts to keep a safe investment for the shoppers.

On many occasions they opened the store late when they are supposed to open a 8am. Also a visible sign stating they are open till 12am but now close earlier. Owner/Management is joke here.

I was hanging out in the make up area and the security guard was being very kind and professional and someone of the shoppers employees (his name tag said SHEIVA i believe) started treating him very poorly.no one was in the make up area at the time so i think the security guard was keeping an eye on it.he was doing nothing wrong, and i found it very immature that this employee was treating him with such disrespect.this really effected my experience at shoppers knowing that people disrespect the security guard like that.

The pharmacy staff need some serious kind of training.very unprofessional people. I ll prefer to drive miles away rather than stopping here. It was difficult to give even one star to them.

The management at this shoppers drug mart definitely need to invest more time and resources when it comes to triaing their floor staff. Or, maybe they need to hire people that are civil and educated enough to be dealing with the public. The lack of customer service and support from the employees here will result in a bad experience for you; if you do not want one, then don't go to this location.

Terrible customer service. Those items are on discount they are charged at full price when we have to pay. Meanwhile staff don't know the sales and discounts in their store and they said there's no discounts on these items.

Went to the pharmacy for prescription antibiotic eye drops due to eye trauma. Recieved a box that stated "do not use if seal is broken" and the seal was completely cut clean and the sticky edges had already accumulated dirt. The drops inside the box were 1/4 filled only. The amount of liquid inside does not match the amount of ml's that should be inside therefore, it was previously used. Very costly and was previously opened. Definitely will not be using this pharmacy again. This is not safe at all.

Just bought zensa worth $45 and the doctor didnt approved it for my baby.
Went to return and buy some other stuff was told wont be exchanged nor refunded was told coz of covid-19.well what a great way of making money with the excuse of covid-19 instead of helping eachother in this tough situation people making money.

Well.i have been shopping since last 3-4 years from saddletown location. I also purchased all my family meds from pharmacy. Today around 8.30pm I went there with my kids. While I was selecting fragrance gift pack one lady worker came to me and told me rudely without any smile that you need help, i said no i m good.she further said if you want to purchase anything then come to counter.i told her politely that i know as i have been shopping here for years. I selected 2 gift pack and took few steps to go to my kids who were in jewelery sections so we can go to counter and pay but in the meantime another lady worker approached me and rudely said that you can not take fragrances out of fragrance department and it's our policy.i replied politely that if it's a policy then post this policy in your department.she replied again rudely that we can not post all policies in store.she gave me the impression that I was stealing stuff.
Both workers don't know nothing about customer service.
I ll never shop there and I m changing my pharmacy as well.
After going through the reviews of this branch I know now that they are really low on customer service. I used to shop around 200 to 300$ per month but not anymore.
One suggestion to you guys.please train your employees

If you can, shop at Safeway Saddletowne, they're a lot better with handling their items, prices are more better, and they definitely have better staff and customer service. Shoppers Saddletowne isn't really a good place, some staff members are really nice and pleasant, some staff need to have an attitude and honesty check. It always hasn't been a good place ever since it opened up in mid/late 2000s. A lot of the products and items are treated very poorly, staff aren't really trained well at this location. Pharmacy also sucks with handling medicine, and they don't care or want to improve for the better, it's a horrid place. Hence why my family, my friends, my cousins, and myself no longer and refuses to shop here or get any perception anymore, unless we direly need something.

I highly recommend to go to Safeway or Superstore when it comes to Prescriptions, better deals, or just a better environment in general. If you must shop at Shoppers, I recommend the one at McKnight or Coventry Hills, they are a lot better by a small percentage than Saddletowne's Shoppers (and the milk and bread the last time I checked had a better price). I'm ashamed that such a faulty business continues to runs here in Saddletowne, you're time is better invested at another place. Hope they can change for the better in the future.
