Found it to be a cold and impersonal experience customer services is to make you feel like you can't ask questions about products without getting a state down don't generally shop in the mall anymore
Since I relocated to Red Deer, Shoppers Drug Mart has been my pharmacy of choice. Upon meeting Mr. Shah and several of his staff I was immediately impressed by their expressions of kindness and professionalism. I have always been attended to with a smile. With knowledge and excellent service pertaining to my prescriptions. Follow ups, phone calls with required information an excellent part of their services. Within the whole store there appears to be a family friendly atmosphere. I must mention the assistance and caring manner toward seniors is exemplarily. It is my pleasure to shop here. Thank you Rev. June Hayter
I have been a customer of Shoppers Drug Mart in red deer for several years now. I have always received the best service, product, and customer service whenever I come here. For all my service needs, this is the place I trust.
Very rude! The post office person and the Manager! I simply went in to send something back and received very rude and poor customer service! From the both of the them very unprofessional. Both giggling like little children as I left! Very upset with how I was treated! They need to grow up! And get new jobs not suited for customer service! Bower Place
I used to love going to this shoppers, but lately it has really sucked. The security always always follows my daughter and I around like we are ready to steal what we can get our hands in. Went in today and he walked back and fourth the aisle we were in every few seconds. And that was not the first time. The other one circles the make up aisle we were in and watched us like a hawk too. He actually almost ran into me trying to follow us. They racially Profiled us. I don’t think I will go back to this shoppers again.
One of the two clerks at the postal desk went out of her way to be useless. I asked her about a mailing address for CRA. Dumb look. Envelope with a stamp on it. She reluctantly sold me that but not without another dumb look. If she was actually in CUPW, she would have been in perfect strike mode. Since she's only in customer service, she is ready for unemployment
Security followed me around and made me feel uncomfortable. I think it’s because I’m black. Either way, I try to avoid this location because it’s happened multiple times.
What an awesome experience with the beauty manager Angela, she showed me and my daughter the new amazing dyson hair tool that they now carry and helped us explore some new scents and made the most perfect suggestion for my daughter who was unsure of what she was really looking for in the perfume department. What awesome, friendly and patient customer service.
You should really train your security guards how to be kind and welcoming. Intimidating a 16 year old by telling them that they are being watched by everyone in the store, then a few minutes later asking them to leave, is very inappropriate and rude. This young adult would never steal, rarely goes out, and this is the experience they received when wanting to go back to school shopping on their own for the first time. This young adult works extremely hard to make their own money and wanted to finally indulge and instead gets kicked out the store for no reason. We will no longer be shopping here if that is how you treat your customers.
This experience was fantastic! Judy, the front store manager, made this an excellent shopping experience. She was kind, helpful and extraordinary at her job
Update: The young man at the till was wonderful last night. Helpful, very efficient even reading the total. Plus he was welcoming. Been a long time since I have seen such sincere service.
Absolutely love the staff and management at this store. I work in the mall, and am aware there’s other places to go for snacks, make up etc, but because of the staff you'll always find me here.
I am here a few times a week to get a few groceries, makeup, etc. The staff are always so miserable that it's getting unbearable to even consider going anymore. Even with how convenient it is for me, I am ready to stop going. I almost never have a pleasant experience and I always use the self checkout because of how apparently difficult it is to ring a few things through without treating people like the greatest annoyance of all time. The worst of all experiences in the store though is at the makeup counter when you are returning something you don't like. They say that the policy is that you can return it if it doesn't work for you, but once you do they are condescending and treat you like you are ripping them off. Which I don't even understand, because the company gets re-embursed for it from the supplier according to them. TERRIBLE service all the time.
I have been shopping at the beauty boutique for all my skin care needs for several years now. Every time I come in I’m always greeted with a friendly smile. The girls there are fantastic and very knowledgeable, I always feel comfortable asking questions and shopping here!
The new pharmacy staff is absolutely horrible. The main pharmacist gives me incorrect information, and when I needed assistance after a surgery, they refused to help me find what I needed.
Excellent Pharmacy (one of the Best). We moved from Manitoba and the pharmacy team helped me and my family to understand Alberta Pharmacare. The pharmacist is very knowledgeable and kind. The assistants here are perfect and patient. Love here and they are truly good friends. Highly recommend!
Two employees were standing in the entrance bad mouthing customers and being classist about a dollar store opening across from their location, both employees did not offer to check out my items after I had made eye contact so while they kept with their conversation I used the self checkout. Awesome customer service! 1/5
Security follow me around here, even though I’m a regular customer and work in the mall. Today I tried to buy a perfume set and there wasn’t a cashier at the desk. I was on my lunch break and in a hurry, so I decided to try the front check out. All of a sudden, security stormed up to me and said “you have to pay for that in here”, as if I was going to steal it or something. Makes me want to shop here less… maybe there should have been a cashier available to help me.
Absolutely disgusting, was profiled upon entering the store, told to leave my purse at the till in the open and noticed not one single other woman was told to do the same, so I decided to leave as I didn't want my bag being left unattended in the open. Received a snarky comment from a worker saying oh that didn't take long at all.
Just when you think the service at the bower mall shoppers couldn't possibly get any worse, they go and prove once again, terrible service has no limits!
I was in Bower Mall shopping with my son, and didn't want drive to my usual Shoppers location thinking it's just convenient to get few things I need. Customer service was lacking, I was not greeted (especially by a staff standing next to the self checkout) ; and was followed by a security guard. I work in retail I know what he's doing. What an insult, and it was really uncomfortable.
1st time ever knowing that there was a backpack policy and have been in this shoppers multiple times since shoppers was added to bower with a backpack and the old man security dude today Dec 7th between 1130- 1230 was extremely rude that i have to remove my backpack when another chick was allowed to prance around with her backpack without being asked. Your old security dude needs to learn not to discriminate just because one has dyed hair and non dyed hair, but not the 1st time Shoppers has shown discrimination.
Very rude un empathetic pharmacy staff treat seniors very rudely I would not refer anyone to use this drug srore! They do not take time to explain new meds when you do ask its a great inconvirnce for them have been a shoppers customer for 35 years and have changed pharmacy to London drugs
Came here last night 20 mins before closing to get deodorant, shampoo, and Face wash. I was followed throughout the store by the cashier and security guard. At the self check out the cashier stood directly behind me as I cashed out. Never experienced that in my life and I ain’t coming back. To the red head trailer park looking cashier, stand behind the till and do your $15/h job. Security should just watch the cameras for people stealing instead of following everyone that walks in
Pharmacy has been hit and miss with customer service. My desire to continue with services at this location was exhausted when a pharmacist called me out in front of all customers to explain to her why I was on the medications I was on.
1. Really invasive 2. Look at my file, you have the information 3. At least talk to me in a consultation room
When I tried to explain (note, in front of all other waiting customers.), she refused to fill my extremely necessary prescriptions and told me I would need to contact my health practitioner in order to get confirmation I needed the medication. The pharmacist ignored the fact that my practitioner had just sent refill paperwork to the pharmacy a few days prior indicating that I was indeed in communication with my practitioner. Also, in order to get another appointment it was a three to four week wait in which my health could have been greatly impacted without my medications.
Another pharmacist looked uncomfortable about the conversation and tone of it, but did nothing to intervene for my privacy or dignity.
My practitioner was fortunately able to get through to the pharmacy based on a voicemail I left at their office about the situation and lambast them into refilling my prescriptions.
Needless to say, both myself and my healthcare practitioner were very unimpressed and the experience left a bad taste in my mouth about how my information was being used, the lack of attentiveness to privacy, as well as the uncaring attitude toward my health.
I was in there about 2 months ago and a young security guard accused a mom of stealing. He made her cry and was yelling at her in the middle of the store for everyone to hear. The store employees had to calm her down.
I was in there today with my mother and we both were being watched and followed by the older security guard. I’m tired of going into this store and being treated like a thief.
Got in 10 Minutes before closing the supervisor refused to serve me said it was her closing time! Refused to let a gentleman in who arrived at the same time I did, then let one of her friends in with a little kid? Unbelievable! I have worked in retail for years if our hours were until 8 we served until eight. I’m sorry if 8 is too late for her maybe it’s time for her to retire! When I asked where to complain I was told she’s the supervisor!
I went to this location specifically for the purpose of not being stalked while I was shopping as I have been here prior and had a great customer experience previously with an older lady in the beauty section. She was very helpful in finding me what high quality skin care products I needed.
Keeping this in mind I've made an effort to come back to this location hoping to have her assistance again, unfortunately she wasnt there. My partner and I made our way to the skin care section trying to find a body scrub for a good price. I waited for a staff member to come around and ask if we needed help, as we did but managed to find a good body scrub on our own after 15 mins of searching.
The young lady was in the other aisle not doing her job just chatting with the security guard. Her and the security guard only came over after my partner and I were discussing prices and how a 250$ product shouldn't be left there unattended. She decided to finally ask if we needed help after they over heard our conversation with the security guard standing right behind her. I replied "we managed to find what we needed on our own".
We slowly made our way out of the store making sure we didn't rush as after that they were following us and stalking us for the rest of our shopping making it extremely uncomfortable. I spend a good amount of money on this business and I'm extremely disappointed in your staffs customer service as well as the security guards lack of personal space. You need to do better shoppers and I will not be returning to this location. Also North Red Deer location has the same problem! Not everyone is thieves and you need to figure our a solution to safe guard your merchandise without chasing your loyal customers out of the store.
I was watched intensely while I checked out at the self serve till by the security there. The man literally stood cross armed and watched me scan in my three items until I pulled out my card. When I pulled out my card he finally walked away. As an indigenous woman it felt racist. I've been racially profiled before in this place but I've let it go because I work in the mall and it's nice to get water from there. I probably will not be shopping at this location again and instead be going to sunterra market where they don't follow me around.
I don't go here anymore. Almost everytime I did the security guard is following me around or staring at me. Makes you feel very uncomfortable. Seems like this has happened to a few people. I understand that's their job but I feel like it could be approached a little differently.
I will definitely NOT be back to this store. I wanted to spend my points as it was a spend your points event. I was followed around by the security guard the whole time I was there. I’ve never felt like such a criminal. Every time I turned around he was there right behind me. Reading some of the other reviews it sounds like I’m not the only one that has had this happen.
I shop here frequently and I’m so tired of having the security follow me around the store the whole time. Maybe I should shop elsewhere where I’m not treated like a criminal. I mentioned this to the staff and they didn’t even acknowledge me. Stay away from this shoppers!
Not too keen on the new practises of the cosmetic department. Do not ask the girls on that side of the store for help. I've gone a couple times and just wanted to find normal sunscreen. They pulled me to going into cosmetic section to buy 40.00 50ml bottle. I said I'm just looking for something cheaper like 15.00 ombrelle for my face. She insisted o buy the expensive stuff. Another time I was looking for moisturizer and same thing they pulled me into going and looking at 75.00 stuff. I feel like the girls talk trash about everyday products and push for the high price stuff. I know they are on commission but really. It's kinda annoying when every store sells garnier, l'oreal, etc. Theu should try to make a sale as a sale. My 18.00 stuff compared to the 40.00. So I snuck and bought it at self checkout.
The ladies at the front left no stone unturned seeing if they carried the product I was looking for. Although they didn't carry it. I was impressed by their persistence. I will return.
First and foremost I have to say, the staff here are very rude, the pharmacist there was extremely rude, this person seems that they did not want to be there, and the attitude needs to be extremely adjusted. I don't go there to be abused. There should be a law against public abuse like this. Stay away from this abusive place.
Medicines are little expensive than walmart.as far as i know atleast 20% more pricier than some of the places.advil cold and sinus which i bought in walmart priced for 6.99 which is compared with 10.99 in shoppers drug mart.
I love the staff in the makeup department. They helped me realize I was using the wrong concealer for my complexion and I have been thrilled with the results. My husband loves going here as well because the store is so large, when im shopping for makeup, he shops around. The gentlemen there (cant remember his name which is a shame because he was so helpful) helped my husband pick out a very wonderful cologne and was above and beyond helpful!
Don't think your are buying Tommy Copper socks here. They are a knock off called Cleva Coppa. Looks just like Tommy Copper. For $19.99. They are cheap and a complete waste of money well earned. Sly advertising.beware
Was helped by Payton the other day, she was excellent. She helped me choose quality mascara and eyeliner that fit my budget and was extremely knowledgeable on the products. Thanks for being awesome!
The last 3 times I was here the beautician was rude to not only me but other shoppers as well, you can’t even glance at something without her jumping down your throat about not opening anything. Yes the thing I wasn’t even looking at I’ll make sure not to open it.
