The pharmacy staff are friendly, personable and helpful. The beauty boutique staff are also a wealth of information and go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. I’m pleased to have this store in our neighbourhood

Awful service at the pharmacy today. I walked in stating that I needed a different version of my medication as I asked for a specific one (as it is the version of the drug that works for me) and they did not give me the right one. Lisa, kept sighing throughout the whole process stating that she'll need to order them. She talked as if I was a nuisance and even had the audacity to ask me "why do I need a different version of the medication? " in an annoyed manner. I was shocked - I do not need to explain myself on the details on why I need a different medication, confidentiality and my safety/health is important to me - why does she need to ask this? Please do better in educating your staff that I specifically asked for a different version because the drug given to me by the pharmacy is one that I've tried before and caused me to have instense side effects that I do not want to go through again for my health and safety. Note that a different version of the same drug can cause me to absorb the drug differently/ metabolize differently and that's what's happening to me as confirmed by my Doctor. Why do I need to feel harassed for being careful about my health? Are shoppers employees trained to be rude to customers? I saw previous comments and it seems I'm no the only one being affected. This seems like a long-term problem that should already have been fixed with proper staff management.

Not sure what is going on with this store. Customer service especially the pharmacy department is nothing short of horrible.
Call to ask about Covid boosters and appointments, they are rude and short. No call next week and hang up on you. No good bye

Very poor customer service at the checkout desk from an employee her name Lulieth or lliliyouth can’t remember how to spell her name she was at the checkout desk at 11: 40
There was a problem with the coolers and no milk was available except the 1%.
Her reply simply this is not our fault and when I complained she suggested that if I may had a bad day I shouldn’t take it out with her very rude and I would suggest she should go for basic customer service and handling complaints skills program she could benefit from it

I was in this store today and was fortunate enough to have Corrina help me. I have nothing but amazing things to say about her. She was incredibly helpful to myself and my daughter. Such a incredibly kind and intelligent young lady! This store lucked out when hiring Corrina.

I was a customer at shoppers for over 30yrs. I pulled all my prescriptions from the Ellerslie location because I was short 1 days medication and would not help me out (my pay was mistakenly put into someone else's account) I needed 1 dose from 2 different medications. They refused to help me! They told me it's against there policy? ! I took my business elsewhere. The girl that I was talking to was also very rude about the whole situation! I also shop there for everything from groceries to makeup and skin care. They will not be getting anymore of my money!

I am thanking the staff here for holding on to their patience and still able to get the work done and to apologize for taking so much of your time on my case. I can only guess how much load you have on your shoulders everyday there.

I called the pharmacy today to follow up on my refill request 2 days ago. The calls I made became multiple because the clinic (receiver of the faxed request) was not getting any document from (this) Shoppers until “1: 25 (pm) ” today. So yey! The fax went through after the 6th time it was faxed!

I do not know what went wrong in the process but I am glad I am finally on the waiting phase until I get my medicine…thanks again to the people who got frustrated today… ‍️ Sorry that my ff up with my doctor did not come earlier than my refill request. I hope you get the sunshine/smile/whatever that could make your day seem the best you will ever have.

I was in the store for less than two minutes with my family. My daughter was looking at the perfume and I showed her the cards you spray to test the perfume. When we were done, I turned around security was right behind me and the beauty boutique girls were half way down the hall watching us. If you were looking for a way to make someone feel uncomfortable, you've found it.

Just disapointed with one of the ladies working in the pharmacy. She’s tan, short, has long black hair. Again, she is very snippy, never be friendly with customers. I just ask but she acted like I took or owed her something. Why she behaves like that to me. Did I do something wrong to you, Ms? No. I’m not gonna go to that pharmacy anymore even it’s close to my house.

Jimy and all the pharmacists provided exceptional service. They made understanding travel, flu and Covid vaccines easy. And they were so accommodating. You guys are the best, thank you for always taking care of me and my family.

I'm a long time client at shoppers, Jimmy, Lisa and the gang have treated me with the utmost respect, I should be the one to appollagize actually, I was kind of a jerk when the girls were asking questions I didn't like, but they needed to be addressed and for that I appollagize. I think people forget how crucial you guys actually are, and how much you do, especially throughout the pandemic, you guys litterraly dealt with the front lines, keep up the great work, and don't let grumpy people ruin your day

I always go to this location even though there is another shoppers nearer to my house. The beauty boutique staff in this location are all friendly and very helpful (especially Connie! She always provide amazing customer service). Also, I went for my covid booster shot and flu shot today. The pharmacy staff were pleasant and answered all my questions nicely.

After coming from Cold Lake and having an amazing pharmacist at the location there, I have been super disappointed by this pharmacy. Getting my prescriptions and those of my family is a constant ordeal and I dread refill time. There’s also insurance mistakes, annoyance by staff when I note that prescriptions should be fully covered because now they have to go back into their systems which no one appears to be trained to use, and staff doesn’t seem to be aware of what they’re even filling (yes I know I’m only getting one of my one prescription because it’s a biological so it can only be given once a month). I would suggest this location ask for training from Newton in Cold Lake. Otherwise I’m looking for a new pharmacy.

I’m a Rpht myself. Took dad’s painkiller rx here after his cancer diagnosis, I am appalled by your version of “ patient care”. I was yelled at, scolded, multiple times by your Rph.
Example, dad ran out of refill of his T3, MD office would like your pharmacy to send a fax request. I phoned your store, girl faxed it. 3 hours later, MD still hasn’t received the request, I phoned again and the same Rph was very explicitly not pleased, was rude and very disrespectful. Now, I also work in a pharmacy, I understand your frustration, I know you are busy, I know it by having to wait for an hour for a box of alesse once, I still don’t understand why you don’t have a policy to do waiters before pick ups, but that’s not the point here, the point is, watching dad in so much pain from stage 4 lung cancer, having no appetite whatsoever from the constant breakthrough pain, I will swallow the bullet and let you yell at me and not talking back, because dad needs his meds.
You need to remember why you began your journey in this field, you shouldn’t have to be reminded. Some patients and their family are going through enough from their pain and diagnosis, they do not need YOU to make this more difficult. When you are helping another family, consider it helping your own as well, because someday, you will be in our shoes.

I have heard your staff speaking disrespectful about patients while waiting in your line, you need to let your pharmacists know that is uncalled for, and just not a good look in front of other patients.

Dad passed away a couple months ago, I have since transferred all of my family’s prescriptions to the save on foods next door, it is difficult to bring my business to your pharmacy when your staff obviously doesn’t care for it, and I’m sure you don’t care about just a few dispensing fees anyways.

Remind your staff why they are in healthcare please, we don’t need more families to go through the kind of disrespect and various problems that I had gone through with your pharmacy.

First time at pharmacy here. Pharmacy tech seemed annoyed with request to fill a prescription that was entered 2 days before. And annoyed further that I asked to ring up purel along with the prescription. My daughter's were prescribed an antibiotic and they did not ask if we had a preference for the flavor but were given two different flavors. It's okay, we don't always get asked but it would have been nice. But what erked me was the seeming annoyance with it all. Also when I inquired about the medicine, they just hurried me and offered the pharmacist consult, which was fine went over everything needed. Just not a very good patient experience is all.

I will not go back to this pharmacy I gave the girl my prescription from 9: 15 am and went back 15-minutes to 7 pm. And she asking me if I'm sure I came there, then when she do find my prescription the paper is dirty and she's asking for 15 min more.she really don't seem like she knows what she was doing.

I love this location. I drive out of my way to come to this Shoppers 90% of the time (past two other stores lol). The boutique has a great selection, you can tell that the pharmacy staff really care, and the store staff are kind and helpful. My only complaint is how late it opens because I am an early shopper, but that's easy to live with

Today i had a horrible experience at this location, i only go here as this is the closest one from work so i said i’m gonna stop by as i have an offer and needed something for home.everything went great until i went to the cashier.one particular cashier said that whenever i’m there i’m always causing problem, like for one this is the second time i was there and she was working, is it my fault that the cashier does not know what she’s doing? I don’t work there so i don’t know what comes first, to scan the pc points first, coupons or your offer.and why did she say that i’m always a problem when i’m there, is it my fault that she really doesn’t know what she’s doing as a cashier? ! I am a paying customer so is it my fault that she doesn’t know how to do her job properly? Like wth!

What a degrading experience I just had at the pharmacy here. I will never return after being discriminated against by Jimy Matthews and his pharmacy staff. I went here to fill my prescription for a skin condition that my dermatologist diagnosed and stated to me that it was being aggravated from wearing a mask. I was given a mask exemption which I showed to all of the pharmacist including Jimy. I had been keeping my distance, standing behind the plexi glass shield, with not one other customer within 20 feet of me, and no one else in line. This meant nothing to them, and they refused me service. Jimy finally came and said he doesn’t have time for this and he will fill my prescription this time while I wait outside in -14 weather while it’s snowing. This was extremely embarrassing, degrading, and humiliating to me. As a business operator myself I cannot imagine ever treating a customer like this. The legal mask exemption that I showed as proof, and as pharmacist I’m sure that they were able to figure out that the 2 compound creams that I was prescribed was for the skin condition… This all meant nothing to this staff. I want to be clear that this is an isolated incident at this shoppers drug Mart in particular. I have never been treated this way at any other shoppers drug Mart. STAY CLEAR OF THIS SHOPPERS PHARMACY! READ THE OTHER HORRIBLE REVIEWS. Jimy and his staff are rude and practice discrimination. I went in the other day to ask if this location does passport photos and there were three workers gathered discussing something so I waited until they were done before I could ask. The one girl just turned around to look at me and said "what". I found that VERY rude and dismissive. I will NEVER go to this location again.

Normally this pharmacy is fantastic. But they have a new inexperienced pharmacist there who is very ignorant and immature and needs retraining on ethics and professional standards. When you need questions answered about your health ask for the head pharmacist. I come here for my health questions when using medication that is my right. When I got out to my car and looked at my medication I see they added a pill of some kind which is not part of my current medications. So I had everything transfered over to another competent shoppers because I don't trust them with my health. And it has been reported. Extremely unprofessional, I can't imagine what kind of pill this is and if it is mixed with another white pill for a senior with similar pill coloring, so sad. Don't go here for your prescriptions, and if you do double check it all. I transfered everything out and to the James Mowatt location because they uphold the professional quality that is needed when they completed thier pharmacy licensing. Thank you.

The most rude and irresponsible staff at cosmetic section included manager, i just go to drop my resume for the job…. And ohhh can’t believe everyone their looks me like they just eat me at once by their looks lol.why you guys even post a job if u treat the candidate like thatI’m happy that i realized their behaviour even before applying and one more thing for you guys plz atleast keep lil smile on your faces bcz its the part of customer service.
I just realised why this location has so much bad reviews and no one saying anything good for them.poor guys plz do learn some ethics i know that behaving well doesn’t pays you something extra but plz plz for Humanity…
I’m not gonna mention any cashier or grocery staff member as they all are nice, so atleast learn something from them and the words for manager plz plz you are the role model for your workers i know you have to face so much situations in daily basis but don’t forget its part of your job.

The pharmacy team here is a joke. I called once to see if they had Pfizer available and was told to come in. Came straight in and they had "Given the last dose to someone else" Was told on Monday that they couldn't work with my schedule and so I was advised to book an appointment for Friday at 5 pm. Had to book time off work to get here and after waiting in line for 20 minutes, was told they don't have Pfizer and that they had plenty of doses that they just threw out because they're expired. If they're expired on this date, why did I have to wait until this date? Was also told they don't book appointments even though I've booked an appointment over the phone twice now. What a s*** show.

Booked and got my COVID test done at this location. The pharmacy staff both on the phone and in-person were friendly and patient with me. Jim, the pharmacist, who conducted the swap test was very kind.

I actually rate this location -5 and recommend everyone else to spend their money at the location down the road from this one. The pharmacist denied my prescription for insulin because I hadn’t refilled my prescription soon enough. I’m completely disgusted with the decision this person

Was just in the store to pick up a few things. I don’t often sit in the lot to write a review, but the service that I got at the cosmetics counter and the pharmacy warrants taking the time to do this. The two ladies that I had asked for assistance were very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. I really appreciate their help and will definitely be shopping here again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Calling the pharmacy to refill a prescription to pick up tonight as I’m leaving town for a couple days. They say to give them an hour-hour and a half. I kindly explain that I’m leaving town in the next half hour and if it could be done quicker that would be awesome. They tried arguing with me about it for a couple minutes and then said “fine whatever” and hung up on me. I get that it was kinda last minute but the pharmacy definitely shouldn’t have talked to me like that!

I would of given a 5 star review as I have never had trouble at this pharmacy before. However, tonight I called with a question about a medication. I was informed that even though I have been there before, she could not assist me because I did not fill this prescription at this location. She said that "you pay for the service where you purchased the medication. " Genuinely, I was just upset because there was no redirection given to me by the pharmasist about what to do at this point considering it was almost midnight and the other pharmacy was closed. I ended up calling 811 (nurse hotline) to ask them my question. They answered it and also informed me that all pharmacies can assist anyone calling about medication information so Im a little disheartened by the lack of service.to someone who has used their service within the last month. Maybe it was just a bad night.

Nice clean store with friendly staff and good deals on good products. I’d give it 5 stars but I had about 9 items I sat down in front of a cashier and she goes “do you want to do the self check-out? ” I can see if I was in line behind a couple people, but I had literally just put my arm full of stuff down in front of her.why would I gather it all up to go over to self-check out? She was really sweet, but it was an odd comment at an odd time. She said management tells them to encourage customers to use self check-out so they can stock shelves, etc. I can see encouraging customers when there’s a line up to help THEM save time, but not say it’s to help the employees with their time management.there should always be one cashier ready and available anyhow as some people can’t use self check-out as easily as others.

Mailed a package to this store for a family member thinking there was a community mail box at this location. Found out the package had been opened and not one person there will return my calls. The said family member has gone there twice and has been told to come back when the manager is in. The manager has not returned my calls either. I will be contacting Canada Post to find out what can be done.

Pharmacy is is great! I always get my prescriptions filled here. The wait can be a bit long if you're in a rush. Be smart and plan ahead.
