I visited Shoppers Drug Mart to buy cosmetics. Ms. Alicia attended me so nicely. She is so kind and soft spoken. I am really happy by the way she attended me.

Had a really good experience at Shoppers Drug Mart's cosmetics counter. Alicia was super helpful and knew her stuff. Made the whole makeup shopping thing easy. Definitely recommend. Five stars.

I’m not one to leave negative reviews but I have had several poor experiences now in the Beauty Boutique. Waiting upwards of 15minutes for anyone to help me grab products and then waiting longer because they make it seem as though you have to pay for the product in the boutique and wait there vs.going to the front tills and being able to pay/leave in a timely fashion. I understand they make commission off of their sales and am more than happy to ring my products through with them, however it’s unfair to expect customers to wait so long.

In 2019, they had an awesome pharmacy team.
They all found Better horizons. Happy for them but too bad for this SDM location. One pharmacist remains from that group. He doesn't work 7 days a week so I wouldn't recommend this disorganized gong show.
The look of shock on peoples faces to hear the wait time. That's just one downside.
When pharmacy techs are permitted to treat customers in a manner that goes against the training and ethics they are supposed to have.
There's something seriously wrong with that.

This location is a regular stop on my Sunday outings. It's always been a little less busier than some of the more popular locations.

As with almost all my reviews, it's the staff who make or break the customer service experience. I find the staff here to be kind, helpful and informative especially the pharmacists as sometimes I think they have the patience of a saint!

If you're looking for an unhurried shopping experience, this is one of those places. Quite enjoy each and every time I visit.

Your employee Dale is your BEST cashier at this location. Every time I’m helped by him he is so courteous, polite, and friendly (not to mention super speedy and accurate when checking you out at the register). Great staff deserve to be recognized so I hope you tell Dale that he is a superstar!

Their pharmacy staff is not the greatest and their pharmacist could learn a thing or two about customer service. I have been here a couple of times for prescriptions that need little preparation because they come already packaged, busy or not they seem to care less, and made me wait more than an hour for some drops that were seating at their counter. I asked the pharmacist passed the time for pick up and he ignored me. The pharmacy could at least do something better to let people know when their prescription is clear and ready for pick up rather than telling some random time that is not accurate, yet, when you come asking passed the time, they give you the eye-rolls or ignore you.

I walked in and saw two staff members sitting down talking to each other without their masks on, in the fragrance department (which is separated from the rest of the store). I laughed as they started putting their mask on and said: “don’t put them on, on my account”. They laughed nervously, and put them on. There were no prices on the items, so I asked one of them if she could help. She said her computer was down and then she proceeded to ask if the other girl could do it. She came towards me with a mask in a paper towel (for real!). I looked at her confused and asked her what that was for, and she started saying that it was the law.and that it was a mandate.and that I had to wear it. I said I was exempt and was not doing anything of the sort.
Then she said: “well, I will get the price, but I will not serve you! ” I started walking out the door but decided instead, to talk to one of the managers!
I relayed the story and then I finished off with saying: “that’s what I call hypocrisy and I hope you get fired AND I will never spend another dime at this location again. ”

A usual stop for me. I enjoy the cashier's friendliness but I think that the security Guards should ease down on the racial profiling especially when I am a loyal PC Financial customer that always pays for everything I grab when shopping here for the PC points. But Thanks again for the great deals and selection Loblaws Incorporated and Shoppers Drug Mart!

I love this shoppers! The pharmacists are personable and knowledable. There are also lots of front store people around asking if we need help.

Zainab, from the beauty bar/fragrance, went above and beyond today as she has done so many times before on previous trips. Always very knowledgeable, helpful, and positive! I always choose this Shoppers location for a reason.

The girl that was working in the beauty boutique was clearly inconvenienced by me in her section of the store looking at new foundation. Her attitude was cold and extremely impolite when I asked for her experienced opinion on a product. I decided to not complete my transaction on that side of the store as she made it so unwelcoming. The rest of the staff is great in this store. The staff in the boutique need better training on customer service. It was quite disappointing.

I had a travel consult and received vaccinations from Mel in the pharmacy. She was incredibly knowledgeable and shared a lot of information with me.
I went to shoppers for a second opinion after feeling uncomfortable with the first travel consult I received elsewhere. Mel was able to answer all my questions and worked with me to find budget options to satisfy my needs.

Review for: Pharmacy
Reason for visit: Travel vaccinations

Pros:
They had the vaccinations I needed and they are cheaper than passport health. They know how to get more money from you.

Cons:
#1 They are more of a money grabbing business instead of a business who actually cares for the well-being of their customers. Why? I have a listing of all the vaccinations required for my 7 month trip from my consultation with Passport Health. I decided to go to Shoppers because the price for the 8 vaccinations I need were cheaper. My fiancé and I had initially went to the Shoppers at City Center but they didn't have enough inventory for the vaccinations we both need so I had to go to Oliver instead. My fiancé were able to get the vaccinations he needed from the same listing I showed Shoppers at Oliver with no issues. The Shoppers at Oliver had initially told me they can do all the vaccination I need (total cost ~$2,000) but I had to come back the next day because the person who can/will administer it was not available. I came back the next day only to find out that they had changed their mind and had forced to me having to pay $30 for the travel consult fee otherwise they will not give me the vaccinations I need (#2 Does not honour their word and found a loophole to get more money). Out of frustration and limited time, I paid the $30 and sat with a "travel consultant" who wasn't as knowledgeable as the person we had consulted with at passport health (#3 Not very well-informed travel consultant). I pretty much had to tell her the vaccinations I need from the listing that they initially had ignored from passport health. They gave me the exact vaccinations I had on my listing. They wasted an hour of my time and $30 for stuff I already know, and yes I do understand that they are uncomfortable giving drugs that someone else had recommended so I agreed to pay the $30. What I didn't understand is they were charging me $20 per injection for the 8 shots I needed which is $160. My fiancé needed the same amount of injections but was only charged per visit at the Shoppers at City Center. I thought this was absurd, after already giving them $2,000 in revenue for the vaccinations I needed, they were trying to milk me harder. So I took my vaccines and went to a different Shoppers in west-end (Granville) and they only charged me per visit instead of per injection (just like City Center). I had told them my story and they said every Shoppers are different since they are all under different management. They were quite shocked (although not surprised) that the Shoppers at Oliver would charge me per injection after already giving them so much money.

Also, the pharmacist assistant who I talked to was so unprofessional and rolled her eyes and smirked when I was explaining her my situation. She was so unprofessional (#4 Unprofessional junior staff). Although the pharmacist assistant's boss handled things much more professionally than her when I got frustrated because they won't accommodate my needs. She was very calm and patient and her explanation were very reasonable so I did understand why they would not do it to begin with, hence I paid the $30, but after talking to other Shoppers on how they would have handled my situation differently. I am very disappointed in the services I got from this branch.

Overall, I would recommend the Shoppers inside City Center/Granville on the west end instead if you need any health advice on travelling. Passport Health is very good too but their drugs are a bit more expensive (and they do acknowledge that in my consultation with them as well).

I am a very loyal Shoppers customer. I appreciate their services and all the products and services they offer, however I have never been treated as poorly as I was recently by one of the Beauty Boutique employees here. She accused me of stealing when I tried to do some returns, would not accept one return with a receipt that was bought as a gift for me (I wanted a gift card, not a refund) and would not accept my other returns of online orders for which I had a confirmation email. I will continue to shop at other locations as I've since returned the products and been assured that company policy is to take returns with any proof of purchase. My experience with Dominique has ensured I won't be back to the Brewery location.

I cannot say enough good things about the pharmacy team at this location. They truly go above and beyond to ensure that you understand your medications and answer any questions that you may have. One of the best pharmacy experiences I have had

Worst customer service experience I've ever had. I bought a bottle of vitamins yesterday but when I got home, I found it had already been opened. When I tried to return them, Kathleen, the front store manager, was confrontational and rude. She kept saying that she didn't understand how this could happen, that she had no record of them being sold and implied that I was lying, even though I had the receipt and the vitamins were listed on the receipt. I understand that mistakes can be made in a store; I was not upset about the potential safety hazard of being sold medication that had been tampered with. What I am upset about is that my concerns were dismissed, I was not believed, and it was implied that she was doing me a favour by giving me my money back. This experience was so negative for me that I am seriously considering switching to the London Drugs in the same complex.

I have never been so disrespected as a person in my entire life. Upon walking into the store, I was not greeted by the cosmetic staff and went to look for a few products that I was purchasing for my husband. I came to this location specifically because not many other locations carry the Phyto line. As I was looking at the Phyto products I was followed there by a woman who was not wearing a name tag, although I found her name on the receipt (Marion). I told her that I did not need help and was going to be purchasing a specific product. Right after I walked towards the end of cosmetics to look for Ducray products, and of course and I was followed there by Marion. I very clearly told her that I knew what I was looking for as one of my best friends used to manage a boutique in Calgary. When I returned to the Phyto section the product I said I would purchase was gone. I went to the desk in the boutique to ask where the product was and sure enough she had removed it from the shelf so that I could not take it. I kindly asked for the product and she said that I had to pay there, which I know is completely false because I had never had a problem taking my items to other departments either with prescriptions or for bus passes. Also I had contacted my best friend and she reassured me that I could not be forced to pay in cosmetics so Marion would get her commission, although she did not help me and followed me around uncomfortably. Personally I feel extremely offended and disrespected and quite frankly, feel even worse that the manager seemed to be paying attention and did not step in during my protest. My general feeling was that the ladies in cosmetics desperately wanted the commission and this behaviour was simply unacceptable, especially having been to this locations over the past 2 years, being helped by multiple blonde hair ladies and had nothing but very pleasant experiences. From my understanding the employees in cosmetics are not following company policies and I am surprised that the manager allows these types of aggressive and offensive sales tactics. I have never seen such absurd behaviour at any other boutique I have shopped. Lastly I'd just like to point out that I will not be stepping foot into this location ever again, I considered purchasing my products on beautyboutique.ca, but have decided to give my business to Sephora instead for the sole reason being that despite their unbelievably high turn over rate, somehow all of their employees are trained in proper customer service and etiquette.
