Great place to take the kids! Love hanging here with my little one, I even enjoy the park on the opposing side to walk my dog. Everyone is exceptionally friendly.
The new Children's Playground (Cdn Tire was the major donor) is amazingly well designed, including many "Inclusive" play items and informative messages (created so young kids could understand). Of course the 25 - 30 picnic tables along the paved path are very popular on nice weekends. Groups of tables can be reserved for parties and picnics. All tables have a view of the Bow River, and the many people rafting.
Happy, safe, and in the sunshine it is a glorious place to be with family. Great picnic area adjacent to the park and bordering the Bow River. Park is usually as clean as a whistle, if you go on Septemer, 6, the park had a lot of garbage on the grounds don't let that discourage you from going again, it is usually clean.
We had a church BBQ here and it was a blast. Great view of the Bow river and rafts, a basketball court, a playground for the kids with several fun things to do. If you want to do a family picnic, this is a good place to come. Lots of parking also.
This park is mostly car park and sports fields. There are some nice paths along the river but mostly this is just a good launching point for rafters. There are much nicer parks elsewhere in the city.
Great place to eat alone or with family. Nice park for the kids at. Picnic tables are somewhat clean to eat off but people need to learn how to take care of them. Some tables have camp stoves to where you can use and cook with. This park is the best in my books.
The playground is huge! It’s accessible, lots abs lots to do. Something for all ages (under 10) lots of picnic tables and shade. Can get VERY busy though
Shouldice park is big park. To many thing to do there once you in, u can boating, biking, basketball, many picnic tables and also beautiful play ground for the kids.the place clean. Peoples can bike or walk the old bridge made by the wood. It’s amazing. Kids can play the side of lake.
Amazing park! Great for kids of all ages, very safe, lots of options and great area for location. Can even have a nice day with family having a picnic because of lots of space to sit and separate from other people no matter how many are there. My 2 year old had the best time ever and as a parent I did too!
Shouldice is a nice park is so close to downtown of Calgary. There are good playground for kids, barbeque places, walking trails, boating opportunity and many other features that you can enjoy. Between 10 am to 4 pm this park get crowded.
Easy to get to. Clean and a good number of benches and tables but set apart enough for private functions. Good selection of structures in the large playground for kids of all ages. Tennis and basketball areas are well maintained.
Excellent athletic park right next to the river in NW Calgary. Ride bike trails, throw sticks in the river for your dog in the off leash park or play a team sport on one of the many fields, its up to you.
The fields are astro turf the seating is made for covid distance. When I was there today there was a on field injury the staff got a ambulance and paramedics to the field with in about 15 minutes. Safety first for the athletes. The place is in good condition and clean.
This is an awesome athletic park with several football fields and baseball diamonds. There are always games going on with filming and announcing and it's always a great time. There is a vendor for food and drinks as well as public bathrooms. Entrance to games vary
Lovely little playground. Not too crowded. New facilities. The shouldice aquatic center and tennis courts are also here. Ample parking on either end. Short walk gets you to the bow river. Good for taking the kids out to play, good for small picnics/bbq with friends and family
Nice but it's busy. There is a lot of people who abuse this area and leave garbage. It'd be nice if people could just pick up after themselves and take their garbage home.
No parking for handicaps near entrances to football facilities. Not up to city and provincial standards. Handicap patrons must walk long distances to gain access!
Great playground for kids. The great thing is that it is an accessible park for all. There is lots of equipment for the kids to play on as well as a natural playground. The playground is set up on a rubber surface.
Not sure why the soccer fields don't have bathroom's.odd to have such a nice facility and all the bathrooms are locked. Classic YYC sports at least the tree's get a lot of watering:)
Had a really enjoyable bbq here with the family. The park itself is quite small but there's decent length to it and many tables. Also right by the river which is nice.
