Haven’t been here for many years, was excited to come for lunch buffet with the kids, not excited about the $20 price tag for an adult, however the food and selection was fantastic! I have not ever had ginger beef this good…. Also soup and dumplings and shrimp and noodles oh my! Probably 20 dishes to choose from. Service was great and very friendly.

Have celiac disease so chinese food has been off my menu for a long time. So happy and pleased with our order and had absolutely no issues! Best there is!

Seriously legit. Can't believe Sam's can still throw down after all these years. A Calgary institution if you're in the know. Also their lunch buffet is one of the best.

The food was delicious and the staff were wonderful. A member of our group was a wheat allergy, and their gluten-free menu is fantastic.

SCAMMERS! Went there late at night, when we got the bill they had added a bunch of stuff to our bill we never ordered. Because we were drinking they thought they could get away with it. Even had the kitchen staff come and yell at us. They added over an extra $50 to our bill. Server was awful was running around with her head chopped off.so unprofessional. Worst place by far

Really really delicious chow mein, ginger beef and tempura seafood. So happy to have been here for dinner.

Shout out of Singapore Sam’s! They have the BEST gluten free menu I’ve come across, Including the dumplings…. Which as my husband stated, ”taste like normal dumplings” - he is not celiac, but still liked them. He also said the ginger beef is the best he’s had in the city so far. The owners are extremely helpful and personally brought my food out to me and explained which dishes were gluten free and which were not. They also made sure to label all dishes with a ”gluten free” sticker. I can’t say enough great things about them! If you’re wanting Chinese food, run, don’t walk to Singapore Sam’s!

This is my favorite place for Chinese food in town. The cooking is delicious, the service is always friendly and superb.
The only thing I don't like is the exceptionally loud music after midnight. It's unbearably unpleasant! They try too hard to cater to the young people coming for midnight snack, but this is a restaurant and not a dance club. The play lists is otherwise nice, but playing it supper loud is not pleasant at all.

Very tasty food. Their salt and pepper squid is my favorite. The gentleman who took our order was very friendly. Would love to visit again.

People playing drums with chopsticks and standing on chairs? It's like you're at a crazy dance party but with excellent chinese food too.

Ate here two hours ago and my stomach is uneasy, and it wasn’t the alcohol I consumed before that’s for sure.

You know when you’re in a place and you can feel like you’re not wanted there? That’s how it was.for a reason I don’t want to name because it may be absurd to think it out loud but I feel that it’s an underlying unsaid issue within Calgary still. I've never felt so outcasted at a restaurant with my friends just because we did not fit into a majority group which this restaurant seems to favour to cater to.

Anyway, came in with a few friends during late night hours, many many tables free but got seated in a secluded and dark corner. Our server was rude and had zero sense of concern for us as customers— felt like just a quick number to collect a sale. Didn’t even ask if our table may need anything else and dropped off a bill while we were still eating our food, our server made us feel uncomfortable as if we were unwanted and should leave immediately. I mentioned to our server how it came across to our table, and instead he was offended and essentially said “then leave. ” I don’t understand why servers are servers if they possess no sense of hospitality? Or, are you more hospitable with other groups of people of different race?

To top it off, the dishes are overpriced for just salt.

The food was dry and had little flavor. Our order was also wrong. Some of the worst food I've had in Calgary.

Awful service and awful food.
My first night in Calgary, and this restaurant makes me never want to come back again.

Food:
1. Everything was undercooked.
2. Dishes were drowned in watery sauce.

Service:
1. It's nearly 40 degrees outside, and the restaurant is boiling inside. When we asked the trainer if the AC was on, the reply was "It's on, but not on on. "
2. We were given tiny colorful plastic plates, barely enough for a slice of toast, for dinner plates (The ones given to 5 year olds) We asked the trainee who was actually trying her best at her job, for actual plates. When she brought them, the trainer started yelling "no! No! No! "
3. An uber driver walks in with a mask below his nose. She yelled at him to wear his mask correctly. Fair. However, when her acquaintance came in with a mask below his nose, there were no objections.
4. Finally we decided we will pack the food and give it to a homeless. We asked the trainee for plastic cutlery so we can leave it in the bag. The trainer then lectured her on how we don't give cutlery for late night.
5. The whole time we were there the trainer complained about how busy it was and how her brain is everywhere when it's busy. There were a total of 3 tables, including us.

Truthfully the list actually goes on.
Total waste of money.

I traveled to Calgary for a wedding, and I was contemplating if I should have Chinese food.
I spoke with a gentleman named Shawn about if I should coming down town Calgary.
I have had a lot of Chinese food good and bad, I'm 53 years old and the food that I consumed was phenomenal, the best Chinese food I've ever had.
I will definitely be back over and over again.
Please consider stopping in and let the food speak for itself.

This was my first time coming here, I came around 9pm. The service was amazing, the lady helping us was extremely nice and always checked up on us. The food was not disappointing, it was sooo gooooddd.highly recommend this place.

If you're from Calgary, you know why you come here: the bar's closed, nothing else is open, and you can't be trusted with real plates and glasses anymore. I'd wager a bet that most of the patrons can't remember their time here, which is a shame, because the food is definitely worth the stop.

Is the food, service, atmosphere, or price worth the 5 stars? Maybe not, but this place is an institution, and needs to be experienced.

My brother in law Sam (Salim) ordered food from Singapore Sams for my extended family of 30 who were visiting us for a family event. The food was amazing! Every single dish was extremely tasty and everyone enjoyed All the food. Even the leftovers were still delicious the next day. I usually frequent another Chinese food restaurant, but Singapore Sam’s has now become my favourite Chinese Food.

They Make Amazing Egg Foo Yong from scratch with super fresh ingredients. This Restaurant has such authentic Chinese Food that it reminds me of my childhood! The Service was amazing, staffers are very professional and pleasant! They are always doing well until late into evening times.

Singapore Sam's is our go to whenever we are craving Chinese food. It is consistently delicious and always packed to the brim. We ordered a huge feast for my mother in law's birthday and they completely delivered in serving an amazing meal. Typically when you order such a large amount of dishes through delivery there is at least one issue, but every dish was fantastic. Any time I ask for a modification in the food (i.e. Extra spicy) they completely deliver and do it perfectly. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant!

Ordered a bunch of different dishes off the menu for a 60th Birthday Party, everyone was very impressed with everything that was ordered, all the food was soo delicious! Best Chinese cuisine in Calgary!

We have ordered from Sinagpore Sams for a long time and have never been disappointed. The food is of very good quality and is guaranteed to spice up your life to the level of your desires. Everything on the menu is amazing, but we particularly enjoy their beef and chicken ginger dishes, and black bean sauce dishes. As I mentioned, we have never been disappointed with their food. We went in to pick up our food, and Peter and his staff do a great job of keeping safe with COVID protocols.

Decided to try the fried Shanghai noodles with beef and veggies - my fave go-to dish from most Chinese restaurants. Gotta say, this is THE BEST I've tried in Calgary, and that's saying something because we've got some good Chinese food in this town.

Uncooked chicken. My friend puked. We gave half to the homeless instead of throwing it away. I don't know where all these five star reviews are coming from.

First time ordering from Singapore Sam's tonight. I can't give enough praise for the quality of food, portions, and amazing customer service from Shaun! This will be my go to for the best Chinese Food in Calgary! One small issue but I will discuss it with them on my next order.

It was our first time ordering from Singapore Sam's in the wee hours of the morning and we were not disappointed! Large portions and the quality was amazing. Customer service was exceptional. During this pandemic they went over and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our order. Check them out if you're downtown!

I ordered from Singapore Sam's last night, and had a few issues with my order, and when I called today they were awesome! The customer service is really amazing. Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my complaint and go above and beyond to fix it! The food was tasty and fresh, we really enjoyed the ginger beef and salt and pepper squid. (I don't recommend ordering through Uber, they do multiple deliveries, and I always seem to be the last on the list)

Horrible experience with a particular staff. He is very rude and acts like he owns the place. He decided to block my car thinking I wasn't a paying customer with no intentions of moving it. I looked for the owner of the car all over the parking lot. Only reason I found out is because an employee of another store knows him and says he does it regularly to other customers who parks there.

I walk back in the restaurant and found him. I had to ask him 5 times before he answered my simple question, "Is that your car? " Instead of apologizing, he made it seem like I was the one at fault for parking there. I told him I was a customer and needed to leave. He told me to keep my voice down and treated me as if I was a child. In the end it wasn't easy to get him to move his car because we proceeded to argue outside the parking lot for 10 mins.

I am telling this story so it won't happen to other customers. Like I said an employee in the area knows about him and his notorious attitude of blocking other cars. He is unapologetic and narcissistic.

I never give bad reviews to restaurants but this one needs to be heard. He is a POS employee and needs to be dealt with. I'm sad to say I will never order from this restaurant again.

The owner has resolved the issue and apologized on behalf of his employee. I appreciate the call Mr Peter Tse and I have changed my rating as this restaurant is one of my go to Chinese takeouts in the city.

Got some food for Chinese New Year. Very flavorful, but greasy. So comforting in that sense. Took off a star because the green onion crepes were not cooked long enough and we still doughy, so had to cook it at home.

Best Chinese takeout in the province of Alberta hands down. Thanks for the top notch food and service Singapore Sam’s!

Placed an order on valentine's day was so disappointed when my order came and had everything that I did not want in my order.called the restaurant and not only was the staff nice and helpful.they remade my order and sent it out to me within 10 mins with no extra charge.thank you and keep up the great work (the hub Calgary)

We got about $80 of food the other day, but unfortunately it came in two bags and our driver from Uber Eats forgot to pick up the other bag. When I called Singapore Sam's to see what happened, the gentleman on the phone had amazing customer service and offered us the remaining bag as complimentary. They even had someone from the restaurant drive it to our home. Amazing customer service, and great food. We will definitely be recommending to our friends and buying from here again.

There are better places to order Chinese food. And if it’s too late and everything is already closed, wait til the next day! I wouldn’t recommend you to visit this place or skip from there.

Food took forever to arrive and wasn’t even good. Most of the meals were lacking flavour. At least food was hot!

I enjoy going to singapore Sam's for their buffet! They have an awesome selection, and everything is hot and fresh. The ambiance is mello and relaxing, with excellent service!

Food is great for the price they offer. Impeccable service, and if you haven't been here then you are missing out. The only place i know who would customize your order for no extra charge and with a smile on their face. Open late nights on the weekends and has been the go-to place after a night of partying.

Really great ambient. Great and courteous customer service. For the price the dinner buffet was just okay. Not many options but they were great. The wonton soup was great even as a first timer. I also enjoyed the ginger beef, the fried beef and the mixed vegetables was great

Great service, great food at a great buffet price. Was able to eat items I have not been able to eat in long time. Food freshly made and waiter was super nice and friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone:)

First time going, the lunch buffet was excellent. $13.50, and a very nice selection of food. Most of the items were very good as well. They also have takeout boxes, which are $11 and you can fill up with whatever you want from the buffet to go, which is a fantastic idea I'll definitely be coming back for. The gentleman running the front was extremely polite and was very on top of filling up our waters, and when we asked if we could have our end of meal ice cream cones as we left instead of eating them at the table, he said yes, which was very nice. Overall an excellent experience and my friend and I will definitely be back!

Me and my family had dinner at the buffet table this past Friday evening. We all really enjoyed the food, while the décor in low key, the food was freshly prepared, tasty and nicely presented. The manager was very helpful and welcoming.

Perfect food and very good price. Owners are very friendly and all staff are very polite. Their food taste is extra ordinary.
