Skating rink is well kept. Ice was in good condition. It would be nice to have rubber mats in front of picnic tables so blades aren't in contact with concrete
I've been going to this park for decades, it's a great place 4 a relaxing laid back getaway to enjoy the weather or a perfect place 4 a picnic with your significant loved ones, no matter what brings u there it's worth your time and piece of mind, we usually hang out here on a weekly basis.
The vibe in Edmonton is always mesmerizing, Trails, rivers and mountains. Communities who love to interact with people contribute something to their life. Even lots of book shelf's in front of many houses for the people who are willing to read
Excellent park. Plenty of parking. Lots of space to set up a tent or tents for large group. Kids love the playground. Not your typical structure playground you see in school parks.
Laurier Park has the best boat launch on the North Saskatchewan River. Ramp walkout to a floating dock with 3 sided tie ups for boats & seadoos allows for easy passenger pickup/drop off and jetski trailer retrieval.
Boat ramp is paved concrete sloped at an ideal angle for easy drive trailer back in and retrieval.
The city did an excellent job on this project, and it’s allowed many Edmontonians to enjoy our river on watercraft.
We had a 5&10 k Running room Ultra Night race and it was a lot of fun. Apart from all the descriptions about the park which have already been noted and also located right besides the Edmonton Valley Zoo and connecting Hawrelak Park, this park also accommodates for some interesting events. There were at hundreds of runner tonight as you can gather from my pictures. We also use this trail Thru the park regularly for cycling Thru the park networks. Absolutely amazing!
This and Hawrelak are the best parks in Edmonton in my opinion. They both have the urban park element together with excellent areas of nature to observe fauna and flora. River access is good with boat launch and all. The only thing missing is a good ample beach. It has something for every kind of park-goer if you take into account that Buena Vista is right beside it for the off-leash crowd.
My weekly destination.very will located in the hearts of the city.if you hike or mountain biking you will live the endless trails.if you like the river fishing and boating you can launch your boat here or you can fish from the river bank.a lot of picnic covered site gazebo that you rent through 311.huge green spaces for all the activity ️? ️. Edmonton valley Zoo at the corner.you can split the day between both places.
This place is best for any age 0 to whatever. For kids they have couple of parks, barbecues, open green field, beautiful trails, bike, shades and clean washroom. This is my first visit of season but last year 2 times I went there and this one of the family friendly park.
Nice park if you don't mind out of control dogs. I like dogs, I have a dog, I like off-leash areas etc. But at the off-leash part of this park lots of owners here have zero control over their dog and it is not unusual to even see dogs without owners (must be lost). If you are biking on the paved trail, be ready to slam on the brakes when a dog runs right up in front of you.
In the on-leash part of the park there is a nice new washroom and lots of decent picnic areas, but it can be very busy in the summer. I would never make this park my "destination" but it is not bad to stop at for a break if you are travelling the river valley trail system.
Such a fun park and playground for the kids. I love that it's wood (or at least looks like it) and not plastic like all the other new playgrounds around town.
I work with senior citizens and we all love the viewing and seat down area by the river. I bring a pillows to sit on and snacks. We enjoy birds, the like minded Edmonton people and the dogs
Great place for you and your furbaby, nice trails beautiful views and riverside, only thing I did not like about this place is too much pedestrian and cycle traffic otherwise it's a must go.
Great out of the way park. They have a huge open area for picnics and smaller more secluded areas with picnic tables and a fire pit. Close to the river and lots of walking trails.
Had a picnic last Saturday. Place was nice with lots of room for kids to play. We were able to prepare barbecue and other foods.
Going around the park were tables set among the trees which provides lots of privacy for the users. It also connects to the white mud and buena vista dog off leash area. Walking further east leads to Hawrelak Park.
The washrooms are nice and clean although located near the entrance.
Parking is quite limited though and some people reserved their parking by leaving a table on the space.
Hope they could provide power outlets; a washroom at the other side of the park.
Been boating on the river for many years the city screwed the boat launch up so now only one person can load or unload at a time before the city touched it we could launch 10 to 20 boats at a time
Beautiful park but unfortunately the park is always overfilled with people. Great facilities and amenities, and tons of parking if you don't mind a bit of walk. Not recommended if you want to go to a park that doesn't feel like a festival.
Very clean bathrooms, the landscaping and the trails within the park are very prominent, it was lovely to watch people enjoying their rides and walks throught the day, my family and children had a very pleasant day and great weather will revisit again
What a great location sandwiched between the Valley Zoo and the river. Spots are limited but there are areas for picnicking and games with walking paths throughout. It was good to get out and breathe some fresh air.
Picnic site 4 was available when we visited the park, and it was amazing. Cozy, private grounds just enough for our family. We were able to practice social distancing as well because of its location
Great place to have a bbq or go for a stroll. Only issue is with the dog owners-keep your animal on a leash if you cannot control them with your voice, as a true dog owner should be able to do. A few times now, I have been rushed by a medium-to-large sized dog because their owner is too busy chatting with their friend and leave the dog unattended. So, train your dog properly or keep them away from the park, idiot. Btw, I love dogs, it's always a human (owner) problem.
I really love that this park has nicely paved, shady paths as well as open, sunny fields for kids to run around in. It looks like a great spot for hosting gatherings too. The hidden gem here though is the walk along the path west /south following the river - it's so secluded here, it feels like you've gone for a weekend camping (ok, tailgate camping) while you're right in the middle of the city. So nice
Lots of great trails, I went to the dog park and got to pet plenty of friendly dogs. The path leads to a bridge over the north sask river directly into Hawrelak Park which is handy.
This is a really nice park. Getting there is easy. The road leading there (Bueno Vista) goes to the park through a quiet neighborhood. So there's no busy traffic leading into the park. Once inside, the site numbers (from 1 to 8) are sequential along the drive path, so that you cannot miss your way or site. There's also parking around each site. It has lots of grounds and space between each site. This is my first time here and I will certainly be back!
Great place for entire family or to meet friends. A lot of sites with privacy. Every site has a picnic table or 2 tables and fire pit. Also a lot of sites for big group of people.
One of the best parks in the City if you're looking for one where you can hold special occasions then this is the right place to be! Very clean and quiet environment so make your best to contribute to maintain cleanliness.there's garbage bins all over the park. I'm just wondering why all this time there's only one washroom for the whole place? But it's all good!
Great park to bike ride, off leash dog park walks, and explore the river valley. Plus you can cross the bridge to hawrelak park and have even more to explore. Plenty of parking and the nice wide paved paths make it easily accessible for all.
I usually go to the dog park but I was in the park beside for an event. It was nice, decent parking and close to the river. Seems like a great place for a picnic, they had lots of little picnic spots and a few big ones.
Excellent view of Edmonton's River Valley, wonderful walk with wood burning BBQs available with picnicking tables nearby. Large fields for play, plenty of parking, and even a boat launch.
One of my favorite places for a run. They have paved trails where you can watch happy pups play at the dog park and some great unpaved trails through the trees for a nice trail run.
