Excellent service - ask for Will. He's
got you. Stopped in for new bindings, edge sharpen, and wax on two pairs of skis. Also ended up with assistance on ill fitting boots as well (purchased elsewhere). Will was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything as it was asked about (we ask a lot of questions). Would go back based on excellent service alone.

After a terrible experience at Ski Cellar (North), I was redirected to Ski West. Josh had stellar customer service and was extremely knowledgable and helpful in finding me ski boots. I told him what I was looking for and he replied with "word". From that moment on I knew I was in good hands. Highly recommend.

I bought a pair of Atomic Hawx ski boots here and Will was very helpful as a boot fitter. He asked lots of relevant questions, including my skiing ability and if there were any specific problems I’ve had with previous boots. He also had me try on multiple boots and gave helpful recommendations. I added up adding a foot bed as per his recommendation and now have the most comfortable ski boots I’ve ever had and they ended up being on sale!

This store is the best! I have been coming for years and they always give phenomenal service. Shout out to Dylan and Matt the tech for all their help this week getting me set up for the season. Much appreciated!

The staff was knowledgeable and so helpful when finding a new ski set up. They made sure I was in the best gear for me—not trying to up sell me or put me in gear outside of my riding abilities. They took their time with me and made sure I was leaving happy and comfortable!

Got my new skis, bindings, boots and poles at Ski West. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for anything to do with skiing. Top notch customer service and knowledge of products. Very satisfied customer.

This place is a bit disorganized. When I picked up my ski ordered in store, they can't find my boot. (In between I've dropped off one of my boots for fitting the binding)
Half an hour later got a phone call from them that they've found my boot. There is no any apology for wasting my time. Sorry, I'd say I've had a bad experience with you guys.

These guys spent hours fitting me with new boots before I pulled the trigger. They are great boots but a pressure point against my ankle drove me nuts. I returned to the shop a year later to get the spot punched out. I skiied today and they nailed it. The boots are perfect now! This is a world class shop that employs competent people who love what they do. Buy your stuff here.

I will preface this with the staff I have dealt with along the way are all passionate skiers, kind and are knowledgeable. I have spent nearly $3000 on skis, boots and bindings on multiple occasions from Ski West in the last year and a half. Almost all of those recommendations made by staff have been inappropriate for my use case. Basically the moral of the story is as follows, do lots of research prior to investing in ski gear. Shop around talk to as many people as possible, read reviews even if they are hard to come by. Find a shop or hill that does demo days. Basically don't be me because you'll waste money and be sad.

Always awesome knowledgeable staff here to help with all kinds of ski purchases. I’ve got skis, bindings, poles, boots and more here, will keep coming back!

Expensive and mediocre service.

Some employees are absolutely great, other have pretty poor attitudes.

Have brought skis here for base repairs where the first time around they didn't touch the bases (they did however do the other work I'd paid for, which was nice, but completely forgot the bases, which I had also paid for and we're happy to hand me the skis saying "all good! "), and on a different set of skis they did one quick fix that still a mark in the base from a minor scratch. For $70 for a tune I'd expect them to try and completely fill in a scratch rather than just saying "it's too deep", note this was not a core shot, which I've been able to have filled in elsewhere in the past. Going to buy some PTEX candles and see what I can do for $0.89 next time.

There is a reason why Ski West remains the gold standard for the latest gear. Service, quality, selection and price are all great as always. I highly recomend them.

Shout out to the manager who dropped my skies off at home after sharpening and waxing, so I could leave early the next day for Sunshine Village.

We are incredibly happy with our experience outfitting our tiny human with appropriate ski equipment! Sam helped us from start to finish with finding the right skis and boots and his answers were always honest and helpful. This is after two seperate visits as we came in last week to pre-shop and I It's as thrilled we got him again for our shopping experience. That being said, it is clear that those that work at the store know their stuff and everyone appears to enjoy working there too.

Their jr trade-in programs are a great deal for caregivers who watch tiny humans grow out of their equipment in a season or two and I recommend discussing it with the team.

I also went upstairs and had a fantastic helmet fitting experience. I didn't catch the clerk's name, but she was super pleasant to get support from! My tiny human and I now have amazing helmets that fit well and will give us the right protection. If you wear glasses I really recommend the visor attached helmets!

Called around to check out inventory for snowboarding gear. Jared the manager was the most knowledgeable and friendliest guy from start to finish. Worth every min and Penney to hit this store up if your looking for new store gear for the hills.

Very impressed and pleased with the staff! Ski tech Dave went above and beyond to help replace a broken binding, and went out of his way to deliver it. Great shop, great staff, and I will be a dedicated customer to them for years!

One of the very best places - if not the very best, to buy ski equipment. Staff are exceptionally knowledgeable - they ask a lot of questions, the listen to what you say in terms of feedback, they know their stuff, and they offer realistic options. They don't just throw a bunch of skis at you. Same with their boot fitting - exceptional adjustments to make sure its perfect. Highly, highly recommend.

I got a touring setup with them last season. Good quality touring equipment but they never gave me back my original bindings, which were also brand new last season. When I called they said they had them and I would be able to pick them up but I wasn’t going to be back in Calgary for a few months. A few months later, in the spring I emailed to come pick them up and they ignored my email. I then sent another email which was also ignored.

Great experience with Ski West today. I called as I saw the boots I need are in stock, they had the last pair, assured me they would ship today and price matched another store which was reluctant to ship for the last two days (claimed it's courier's fault). Ski West has great customer service and I wish I could go buy those boots in person!

Came is for a new pair of ski boots, wow what an amazing experience. They digitally measured the contour of my foot, recommended some options based on the results, and baked/heated the boot to make sure it fit properly. The boot fit amazingly (because of course it did)!

Thank you to the 2 young ladies who helped me today and saved me another 200km round trip!

I'm new to the skiing scene and needed to get some boots. Bailey was super friendly and quick to help me find a great fit for my boot within the lines of my budget. He answered all the questions I had and made a first time experience really comfortable. Knowledgeable staff and great prices.

Every time I've come in the staff have been more than helpful! They're very knowledgeable and have been a big help for me as I don't know a tonne about the technical side of skiing.

Big fan of this shop. Staff is super super helpful and knowledgeable, you'll be fitted up with great gear. Prices are as good as they get anywhere. They carry a decent selection of brands but there are a few of the big ones missing that I would like to see. Lots of cool clothing apparel too for technical wear and apres.

Staff is amazing. Came in 15 minutes before closing and he still took time to explain boots and sizing with me. Will definitely go back for my purchases.

Ski West was fine. They got the package ready as promised. Purolator, however, has dropped the ball, has been slow, and the communication with the carrier has been horrible. Based on my experience, I'd suggest to Ski West to find another delivery service.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Sam from the McCall location - he was awesome and really helped me out of a situation (would have had sad kids at Christmas). I really appreciate it - he was fun to chat with too! Thanks again!

Went here for the first time and the customer service was amazing. We were able to get one-on-one boot fittings with Lana who was very friendly and knowledgeable. The selection of equipment and clothing was very good and the prices seemed to have been standard.

It's a smaller shop, so naturally they had capacity limits. Be prepared to wait in line to get in, but I believe it's worth it.

I will definitely shop here again!

An awesome ski shop. Great customer service and super accommodating to customers. Have bought ski in the past. But recently, needed some very specific binding plate screws and they let me dig through parts bin to find and supplied at no cost.

I ordered ski boots and a sweater, both orders were over $100, I notice on your website that you have free Canada wide shipping on purchases over $100, I was charged a $25 shipping fee on both items, please check on this, I would like to know why I was charged the $25 shipping per order.the Ski Boots were $600 and the sweater was $145.

Had a pair of bindings remounted on another pair of skis, the bindings were missing a small part that broke off last season. Ski West replaced the part free of charge and had my skis ready in record time. Thank you Dave and everyone else at Ski West!

Went looking for ski boots for my wife, she hasn’t skied in over 15 years! One shop tried to put her into a race boot due to her narrow foot but was told she doesn’t need to flex her ankles hmmm left that store, then off to another store tried hawk ultra 85 it fit however could not flex and was told it was okay! Left that place called a few other stores then I went onto ski west web site saw they had hawx ultra 70 flex, called and had them put on hold, well the boots were what she needed as she is 100 lbs wet. Dave and the staff were wonderful to work with we left with her new boots and insoles as anyone who skis knows insoles in boots are not good so she got insoles too. Ski west some people say are expensive. I say you get what you pay for and the people there are knowledgeable and ensure things are done right. Again a Big Thank you to Dave and staff at Ski West.

Absolutely terrible experience. Bought a pair of $450 custom filled boot doc liners as my ski boots fit a bit too big. They overfilled them enormously. I couldn't even walk to the ski lift with them. They ground down my custom insoles because they said they were the problem. Now they are not usable anymore. They wanted to punch out my boots because apparently they were the problem. They simply could not accept that they made a mistake when filling the liners. They kept blaming me for the problems. When I was rightly annoyed over having lost a ski day when I had to go home after my first run, they said I shouldn't have just brought my new liners to the hill. And that it was my fault. Though you would expect a $450 product to work.

I've asked to store to pay for my liners that they destroyed but have not heard back from them. I was clear that I did not want to grind them. But they said that it would work.

This isn't the first time this store has messed up someone's liner. A guy at the store was laughing about the time he mold a left liner in right boot and right liner in left boot. For me he had two different insoles in before I noticed it. They clearly do not know what they are doing.

Even though they didn't have what I needed, they spent the time to explain what I should be looking for, and recommended a couple good shops in Calgary for me to find what I was looking for, both of which were perfect- I found boots in one and skis in another. They never tried to upsell or convince me to get something other than exactly what I was looking for.

A+ Customer Service. You never really know how good a company is until something goes wrong.these guys go above and beyond to make it right!

Used their service for the first time last week for a remount on a pair of touring skis. Fast turn around, and staff were kind, but that's the only positive. They didn't actually tighten down (front to back adjustment part, not the entire unit) one of my rear binding pieces, so I had an unexpected foot blow out in serious terrain that I had boot packed up. Thankfully nothing came of this and I had tools to tighten it in the field, but definitely isn't confidence inspiring. That and the cost was double what I was quoted by another ski shop.

Really impressed with the customer service. Rochelle (or Rachelle?) was super friendly, helpful and timely in ordering a specific pair of Hestra mitts I was looking for, as finding them in the smallest size was challenging. Didn't ask for payment until I picked them up and confirmed they fit. They were in within the week! Thanks Rochelle & Ski West!

Best customer service experience I may have ever had.

My parents always took us to Ski West when we were kids, and my recent experience there reinforced why. JF spent ages with me, making sure he understood my skiing style and what I was looking for. He meticulously explained the rationale behind each of his (absolutely stellar) recommendations, and never tried to sell me on more expensive equipment than I needed. As if that weren't enough, he even lent me some of his gear while my new bindings were being mounted! Next level.

Thank you so much JF and to the entire Ski West team. Each of you has an insane amount of knowledge and I can't recommend your services enough.

Always a huge fan of your shop. Your team is always so knowledgeable and helpful. But I just had a bit of a bad experience with my recent binding mounting. My first day taking them out I quickly learned that some of the screws were not properly secured. The back of my binding eventually came loose and put the end to my day. Was a pretty big bummer.

I came into Harpers Ski West to get new boots - it was time - and I got SUCH great customer service and knowledgeable help from Zoe that I not only got amazing Atomic ski boots - but upgraded my skis too! Zoe never pressured me at all - gave lots of time, selection and welcomed my wanting to think and consider this important decision. My husband has always loved Ski West and I am a raving fan now too. So great to buy my gear from someone who really understood me. Let it snow!

I was really impressed with the selection and customer service at Ski West! I upgraded my skis and bindings before the hills opened and really appreciate the knowledge JF had in the process and the time he took learn my ski skills and style before reviewing the different options at different price points. He was confident in his review of the different skis and after we narrowed it down to a couple of great options I left excited to start the season. After being out for the past few months I wanted to share how pleased I am with my new skis!

Good spot if you're looking for higher end ski gear, accessories and clothing. They don't specialize in the affordable end of the spectrum. But they definitely have a good selection of gear and if you're looking for something specific chances are they have what you're looking for. Also, if you have 400 bucks burning a hole in your pocket, you can get one of those super old school snowflake sweaters, or a descente onesie.

Busy shop so choose your hours wisely; however, JF Ravenelle was worth the time for me! Recommended different skis and boots than I was going for, which have been amazing! Had severe pain from boot pinch points first weekend. JF heated, fitted, and customized boots/liners and recommended socks. Feet have been more comfortable skiing than ever before since. Ski West has also carried all highest rated items from my research. Highly recommend this shop.

Genuine passion and incredible knowledge. We went to many ski shops looking for advice on new skis and boots. Most shops were knowledgeable, but nothing compared to the knowledge of Alyssa, JF and the rest of the staff at Ski West. They were patient and showed genuine enthusiasm as we spent hours peppering them with questions as we looked for the best gear for us. They were honest and gave practical advice based on experience, not on the obvious metrics of the skis. Outstanding service, they really take the time to evaluate what type of ski best suits you and your needs. Our sales rep Rob was incredibly knowledgeable and patient - he didn’t try to sell me a pair of skis that wasn’t best suited for me. They also had a great selection of women’s skis which can be tough to find in Calgary. Highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for new ski gear, the staff is friendly and honest.

Was looking to buy some new ski boots and was turned away at the door. Bald guy with glasses asked me if I was "Trying or Buying". I told him I'd like to try some boots on before I pay $800 for something based on just the colours.
He turned me away saying he would need to quarantine each pair of boots I try on for two days and that was too much of a burden for him right now.

Went to Ski Cellar instead and got fitted for boots by a very knowledgable staff member. He let me try 5 pairs and I bought a pair in the end. Go to Ski Cellar instead, much friendlier and better selection of gear.

JF at Ski West was awesome. I needed boots overnighted so I could show up for patrol shift two days later and he made it happen. Excellent customer service. Great inventory on the best equipment out there. Thanks JF and the ski west crew. I look forward to many more years and dollars spent with you guys. They where also the only guys in Canada with stock on Dalbello Lupo ProHD in my size so they saved me. Can't wait to put this boots through the riggers of patrol work.

Came in 2 days ago (Nov 18th) to finally get some new skis, albeit very last minute, as I was hoping to use them the following day (19th). Max helped me out with honing in on a few options, but was decently convinced on a pair of Volkl that seemed to fit my skiing style & ability. Was a bit hesitant to commit to something without having been able to give them a try first, but decided to trust Max as he was knowledgeable & had demo'd them previously. The Ski West team fitted my bindings to my boots (which I had also bought a year prior from Ski West - love them!) that same evening & I was able to pick everything up a few hours later, despite how busy they were, for my next day's skiing.

I absolutely love my new skiis, had a sick time in the powder all day & just so happy with my purchase. Thank you to Max & the entire Ski West team for doing an awesome job!:)

My family has been shopping here since the 80s. It is hard to find a place with a more knowledgeable staff and good selection. Buying for my daughter, I like the Junior Trade-in Program: 50% back on your equipment purchases towards next year's gear. With the way she is growing, this will save me a lot of money over the years.

Amazing ski shop with expert service. We went to many shops and this is Calgary's best option if you want a great selection coupled with friendly knowledgeable staff. Dave was so skilled and took so much time fitting boots for my wife. He helped her find the perfect product to help overcome her issues. Very impressed, I will be back for sure. Massive selection, friendly, unpretentious, caring, knowledgeable, fair.

Good gear and selection. But extremely pushy sales guy. Felt as good and honest as buying a used car. What really got me is how he casually slipped different insoles in my boots. Never mentioned a word about them. Slipped the bill inside a guidebook that I bought and when I looked at it surprise. $60 for some insoles I didn’t ask for and didn’t need and wasn’t told about. Great salesman if the goal is to pump out money. Terrible if the goal is to be helpful and honest. Even the register doesn’t show you the price. Very sneaky.

Didn't buy anything but they seemed well set up for COVID & at least a couple knowledgeable people working there.

Went in to try on some high-end boots recently, and found a pair that fit perfectly (salesman was very knowledgeable). However, the price was over $200 higher than I had seen at a competitor's shop. Needless to say, I didn't end up buying them at Ski West. After reading the reviews, I now know that Ski West will match prices. This should be announced by the sales people, as I wouldn't have gone elsewhere. Also, I don't like how I'm told I MUST buy the $60 boot inserts, this is totally bogus. My only other gripe is the insane prices of the apparel.

I love this shop. I ski 125+ days a year. I am very picky. I'm writing this review because I have read some other reviews below. Basically in the world of the INTERNET, you can find EVERYTHING cheaper online. Here is the PROBLEM with the ONLINE world. It doesn't ALLOW you to try on every available ski boot on the wall, let alone allow a professional to look at your foot and decide what ski boot would best fit your foot. You are PAYING for their advice, accept that advice cost money and is factored into the price, if you are unsure, hire a lawyer. Also accept that everything costs more at the start of the ski season, and is cheaper, if still available, at the end of the season. Usually stuff is still available at the end of the season as it wasn't as popular as the other stuff or the retailer over ordered. Anyways, Dave has this shop dialed. Hours are great, inventory available to try on is amazing. Support your local ski shop or you'll be buying from Amazon and spending half your life returning stuff that doesn't fit or work for you. Great product selection, especially for touring gear!

JF is amazing! I went in on a budget looking for new or used BC ski boots and he found me everything I needed based on what was best for me. I came home with an awesome pair of lightly used boots for a great price and him and Dave went out of their way to find me backcountry ski bindings that I could afford. He was extremely knowledgeable and made some additions and adjustments to the boots for them to fit my feet! Dave (I believe) got my skis put together for me in less than a day! I would highly recommend Ski West for their excellent service and timely turnaround. The boot fit guarantee is a huge plus as well. Thanks so much for helping me find some great new gear, I can't wait to ski this year!

Awesome shop! I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I walk in. I’ve never really fit a ski boot well no matter where I was fitted, but within an hour JF had found me a near perfect fit. The boot fit guarantee was extra peace of mind when buying a pair of boots I’d be teaching in for 10 hours a day multiple times a week at my local hill. Everyone here knows what they’re talking about and aren’t just there to throw the most expensive gear at you. They test the gear first hand and can give you first hand which makes for some pretty helpful insights and recommendations. You likely won’t find me buying gear anywhere else so long as these guys are still in business.

Dave and the Staff at Ski West are always friendly and helpfull. I've been really impressed with the level of service and passion for Ski Touring that Ski West offers. Locally owned shops that care about their customers are so important for the skiiing community and Ski West is as good as they get.

Brought my splitboard in with some pretty significant damage. They did an exceptional job on the repair as well as fixing a bunch of other small damaged areas. Board is like new. Couldn't recommend this shop enough! Will be going back for everything from now on
