Love this place. Great selection of records including hard to find gems and limited edition presses. Thanks to Sean (Shawn/Shaun) for helping me with my needle. Support local when possible.

And if I ever decide to line up for an RSD drop, this is where I go. They control the line and let people in a few at a time, which is how it should be done. They don't open the doors and let everyone scrap it out like some other stores do.

Love this place! IS my go to record store when I am in town. Occasionally stumbled upon some rare finds such as an original pressing of Cherry Bomb, and Frank Oceans endless.

I can only comment on the selection of rock, punk and metal vinyl. If those are your genres, then check this place out. They have new releases and older catalogue titles. Prices are reasonable too. They have other genres like jazz, pop, and hip hop but I haven’t really looked through them so not sure how extensive the selection is.

Great little record store. The owner is a great guy and is super knowledgeable about all things music. He can even do special orders on some vinyls. Don't go to Sunrise, go here.

Great record store! I wish I had more time. Staff helped me find something in the correct section so I left with a record I had been wanting for a while.

What a great shop to walk into! Excellent selection and presentation, with good music pumping through the system as you browse. Just what you'd want in a record shop!

Calgary’s best Record shop hands down. The crew behind the counter are friendly and love to talk music. Killer selection of Metal, punk and alternative music. (Hip hop section is also big) plus their incoming new section is always loaded with goodies. Worth the stop everytime

The very kind gentleman behind the counter gave me great value for trade in credit, and a good conversation. Ended up leaving with some new CDs and a few bucks in my wallet. Great experience, I will of course be back again.

If you are into metal, punk and rock this is The place to get your audio fix, HUGE selection of new and used records/cds could spend a whole day flicking through every section.

Amazing shop, very well organize and easy to find what are you looking for as well as the team! Real music lovers!

This shop is great. Anyone who has anything negative to say about this establishment needs to rethink their whole life.

Good selection. But myself and step son both spent about 70$ each. Then when I went to the front to see if they would order something for me the guy at the front said he would.
Made the effort to look it up and "place the order" it's been 1 month and nothing from them.
I left my contact information.

In the mean time I got a amazon gift card and ordered the album online. Got it in 3 days. I tried to support local and they didn't try very hard.

Awesome store for all Hip Hop and Metal lovers, don't think any other stores in Calgary having such great collection in these two genres! Fantastic deals on pre owned vinyl as well! V

By far my favourite record store in Calgary! Their prices are always cheaper and more fair then some competitors and they have an amazing selection! I'm always surprised by something in their stock every time I visit, I find records that I think have been out of print or have had a difficult time finding. They truly have something for every taste of music, up to date pop and hip hop/R&B section as well as soundtracks. And of course they have bins and bins of old LPs, CDs, DVDs and even collectible books to look through.

Rude staff. A vinyl I bought for 70$ was damaged and they didn’t even exchange nor refunded. They thought it was mishandled when I only played it once and it was like that when I opened it. Rude owner. I reccomend going to myoosik birds vinyl store or Melodiya records. Worst store in Calgary.

Great selection, can usually find anything you are looking for in the punk and metal section for sure

Bought a copy of Ceremonials by Florence and the Machine when i got it home I noticed that both of the liner sleeves were torn by the edge of the records. Took it back just wanting to swap it for an undamaged copy or another record if they didn't have one. Had to have a 15 minute argument with the guy behind the counter who was absurdly rude and reluctant to take the damaged record back. I was accused of having caused the damage myself, patronized with the line "do you know how to handle a record? " and told that Sloth could not serve my high standards (paying $44 bucks for an undamaged LP seems pretty reasonable to me). The guy finally agreed to an exchange, I went to look at what other Florence records they had, and found Dance Fever with the exact same liner rips (now I knew what to check for they were clear even with the cellophane still on) both records were likely damaged at the same time when in transit.
When I showed Mr unreasonable the damage on DF he grabbed it off me and ran in the back. I won't go back to Sloth Records I advise you against going there too. Zero Owls

The owner kicked us out because we were teenagers and assumed we were going to steal. Was very rude and I have spent lots of money here just for this guy to disrespect me and my friends. Will never be coming back
