The place was perfect. I go there around 5 times a week and 5 times a week I get asked the same questions.how was your trip to? Is it not possible to get somebody to program this with some timing restrictions?
I used to shop here 3-4 time a week. We would spend anywhere from $2200-$3000/mth. We have done that every year for nearly 10 years. Even during the pandemic, when they weren't inforcing the mask mandate. I should also mention that the ONLY reason that I shopped there was because my mom is an employee. I could save myself a LOT of money shopping at Wal-Mart, or even the Newcastle Sobeys which is cheaper! So for 10 years I would go, do my shopping and choose which cashier I would go to. Sometimes I would go to my mom's checkout, sometimes I would go to others. It had never been a problem. Every member of management has seen me being checked out by my mom; including the GM and The owner. Suddenly this Sunday it was a problem. A Sobeys staff member, pretending not to know who I was, told me; as a consumer, that I can't have my mom checkout my groceries. The manner in which it was done was offensive. When I called to speak with the GM about the issue of customer service, my concern with how I was treated was brushed aside for the issue of how it was against company policy to have staff check out immediate family members. Then when the conversation got heated, she hung up on me. I, a loyal customer for 10 years who has recommend people shop at this Sobeys, was hunag up on by senior management. My family will no longer be shopping at this Sobeys. I will give my money and my business to Wal-Mart and Sobeys Newcastle.
Its great that they are opened early for seniors but unfortunately lacking in Cashiers. Seniors be prepared to stand and wait to pay. It took me longer to pay then fill my cart with $115 worth of over priced food. Definately will be going else where!
Great variety of fruits and vegetables, always fresh looking. Folks who work at the meat department are very friendly. Bread is fresh too, we enjoy their baked goods.
We were in the neighborhood and decided to stop in for a few groceries. Once at the checkout and after we watched a few customers go through, we asked the cashier if she could wipe down the belt. She informed us that she didn't have to after each customer and didn't wipe it down. During further conversation with her, we learned that they stopped wiping down the belt after every customer before Christmas! (When Covid cases were high) because customers were complaining about the wait. So this store is clearly not worried about its employees or customers.we will not be back, now or after covid.
Always friendly prompt service at the till. If you are unable to find a product. Help is never far a way, and staff are always knowledgeable and friendly.
This sobeys is awesome. Service is great. I've been going here for a very long time. This dobeys is different. Staff there get to know you. They pack your groceries for you. It feels like you are in a small town.
They also have hidden specials. So make sure that you walk around and check.
Try their rotary chicken, always on special on Mondays. Very tasty and delicious. Their grab and go section is yummy.
And they have such an awesome bakery. Lots of selection.
The cakes here are delicious and we order one for pretty much every birthday. My young son's birthday was coming up so we placed an order a week and a half ago and my husband specified what we wanted more than once. Today he went to pick it up and it wasn't anything like we asked. He told them and told customer service and no one cared. Being as today is the birthday we had no choice but to spend money on a cake we didn't want.
Sobeys is a good place to earn air miles and the deals they have are pretty good. Gotta look for a few of them online but if you sign up for air miles it will give you notices of what they are.
Went in early morning looking for some goodies for the office for Valentine's day. Very few selections tucked into a corner behind the floral department. I wandered around for about 5 minutes looking for a staff member to help me find items but left when I was unable to.
I only ever stop at Sobeys for 1 or 2 things because the prices are outrageous. Easily twice the price of Superstore or Walmart, and since I shop on a budget, this doesnt work for me at all. Always have nice produce though.
The bakery always has a great selection of goods, bakery, desserts. We've been going for groceries here for the past 7 to 8 years now and other then the people who park in the fire lane when there not supposed to, it's been great service. Thanks guys.
I love the pharmacist Maria and the store it's always so clean and nicely stoked. Easy to find something! And if u can't find it there is always someone to ask close by! I love that I don't have to search for someone to help me find what I'm looking for
One of my favorite stores. May cost more than the supercenters but the customer service makes up for a little more cost. Friendly staff, good selection.
Clean and organized store. Had the cookies I have been craving for ten years, that alone for them the five stars. Bathrooms were even in clean condition
I stopped in before work to buy some treats for my coworkers. The bakery staff were so friendly and helpful. The lady wsnt out of her way to help me without me having to even ask.
Our favourite Sobeys in north Edmonton. Big store, lots of selection, excellent customer service. Prices vary from the competition in the area (Save on foods, No Frills, etc). Some prices are higher, some prices are lower. You need to know prices to get the best value, possibly shopping at multiple stores.
It use to be that a grocery store would rotate their food and take pride how the store looked. My issue is there is a alot of outdated/bad food here. Just because you reduce the price of food doesn't make it sellable or edible. This not just a problem at this Sobeys location. With the cost of food on the rise the only way to save money should not be to buy close dated food.
Not the cheapest prices but better than Save-on-Foods, and better selection too. The prices are not the cheapest but the service is the best and in my books that is also very important. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Wow, check the dates on ALL products. This is disgusting how many items I picked up and checked the dates. Products expired last month or 3 months ago. Most items are close to expiry if not already expired. The amount of money this place charges for groceries and they own Safeway.they are hurt bags. The sales are not sales.they are just marking down items that they obviously haven't sold in a year +. I didn't purchase anything I walked out. Going somewhere that sells fresh groceries.
My go to spot to pick up breakfast at 6am before work. Friendly staff who are always happy to help, fresh produce. Location opens at 6am and closes late.
Nice clean store with friendly knowledgable staff. Open from 6am till midnight 7 days a week. They used to be open 24 hours. Always lots of parking too
My favourite Sobeys. Hours are pretty great for shift workers. Employees are super nice and go above and beyond. Bakery smells amazing. Best buns I've had, hands down. Produce is fresh. Thank you Namao Sobeys for being awesome!:)
Ok. Fresher doughnuts than timmys. For a local grocer it is the best Jerry, just the best! Really it takes a lot to run a store and these people do try. Used to have a percentage off for underpaid military and veterans. Do you know the army guys don't have a grocery store and have to travel to Edmonton for a pork chop and potatoes? Be kind and ask the store to reinstate the kindness scratched out by the Safeway merger. It must cost 20 bucks round trip for fuel to get there. We appreciate the service for our country.
Always a great place to shop for groceries. Caters to the lactose intolerant eater with amazing whipped coconut cream and dairy free cream cheese plus more. The staff (amazingly helpful) is what makes shopping there great!
I used to shop in this location all the time, however since the 127th street location opened, I switch to shopping there as it closer to home for me. I was in this store on the Saturday before Christmas, needless to say it was a very busy place at the time. I am giving a 5 star rating because all of the staff on that very busy day, were helpful and genuinely happy to be there that day!
