Sobeys - St. Paul

I like to call this place “Fortress Sobeys”. I’ll pretend to be a Viking and go raid and pillage the place for goods and loot. If you don’t know what I’m talking about all you need to do is drive by the place and see the wall of massive concrete blocks surrounding the parking lot. Probably makes MAGA fans happy to see that. Anyways, the blocks are also perfect for smiting your enemies if you’re driving and they so happen to be between you and your vehicle. I don’t encourage it but at least you have a good excuse if it does happen.

It’s also super $$$ in there. Even the deals aren’t worth it. You’re better off shopping at dollarama or giant tiger first before attempting this or any other grocery store around here

Convenient, clean store. Easy to find things. Kind of pricey but everywhere is like that. I continue to shop here because they carry certain products that I like.

This is a great store don't get me wrong but the one thing that I hate about this store is the parking lot. For some reason there are a bunch of cement bricks randomly placed around the parking lot not forming any pattern at all. My review will change when those are changed.

I once paid for $40 worth of groceries with a $50 bill and they gave me $82 back in change.

This is the ‘middle of the line’ option when it comes to grocery stores in St. Paul, with it being not as new, fancy, or expensive as co-op but offers better quality selection, a better environment, and overall shopping experience for a bit more money than extra foods.

The store is usually clean. Produce is mostly good but there have been many times where I’ve found mouldy or ‘melt in your hand produce’ that was still on the shelf for sale.

The experienced employees are very friendly. The newer younger kids that they hire mostly don’t care too much.
