When we lived in McKenzie, we would run over to McKenzie Towne and pick up groceries at Sobeys. Their bakery was wonderful and their produce always fresh! Great meat, fish and varieties of products! As I was at te doctor today, we decided to do what shopping I had to complete! Picked up milk, bread, Extra Lean Hamburger and some great rolls. We will have bbq'd burgers and some fries tonight. Lettuce, tomato onion mustard, pickkes, cheese. Sounds delightful and delicious! They also take Scene and I was able to save $15.00 today and get $50.00 off my order! Nice bright clean store!
Fresh fruits and veggies. Clean store and polite stuff. They also have Starbucks within the store…which I love. I live near by and it takes me only 4min to walk to the store!
Bought a soup and small ceasar salad for lunch today. I asked if they had crackers for the soup, was answered with "why would we give you crackers? " And a blank stare.
When I went to pay for my lunch, they charged me for the small packet of ceasar salad dressing. That's right, they sell single portions of ceasar salad, but with no ceasar. I asked about that and was again treated rudely. As though I was in there looking for handouts.
This particular Sobey's in McKenzie Town is amazing! I went there a couple of days back and asked for some help. The staff helping is left her task and guided us to the right station. I am too afraid to ask for any help in Cranston Sobey's (where I live) as the staff is quite grumpy except for a couple of young kids. They should get their staff trained at McKenzie Town Sobey's
The staff is very friendly and courteous. No long lineups to pay your bill. A very good selection of food products. But no prescriptions or druggist at this store. Although it now has a Starbucks counter.
It was a terrible customer service from the manager and the cashier today. Accusing customers of photocopying coupons when they have PIN numbers, suggesting to come back tomorrow. Does this manager and cashier even realize when his suggestion to come back tomorrow and use the coupon tomorrow instead today? When they should prioritize safety over a $3 coupon? Customer service in this store with the manager today is such a bad experience.
Lots of construction. I feel that the local competition is very strong in a 5km radius with other stores nearby. Also construction has been on going for over 4 months. All essentials are there just not my first go to.
I love the staff at this location, I hope corporate is taking care of them, compensating them during these times. It’s not an easy time to be in customer service.
Thumbs up to all the staff and the management in this store, you are doing a fantastic job in this pandemic ambience. You are a leader in organizing that all in a very convenient way, that make you feel safe to go shop there. From washing hands before entering and spraying the carts. Thank you and I hope all the best to everyone there.
A good place for a quick groceries grab. It's a mid-sized grocery store; it does not have large selection as Canadian Superstore and not as small as 7-Eleven. That's how big all Sobeys are anyways. I always like their bakery selection as it have some unique selection compared done of the groceries stores in Calgary. Also, Sobeys always look upscale compared to Superstore and Costco, which gives me a vibe that it is a warehouse scale store.
This place is always cleans and full of friendly staff - but I'm super impressed with the attitudes of the people working there today. Keep up the good work, and thank you ️
U can't get a plastic bag - which is ok but all the good comes in plastic? Like how does that work/ help the environment? & prices r getting out of reach.
Weather was the pits the day we ducked into this store, got some snacks and food from the Deli. We were about an hour from home but had all we needed to get us home.
A touch smaller than other stores, but they make up for it with friendly staff and a clean store. Quick to get in and out most times, stop here a lot because I change buses at the McKenzie terminal, so will often stop in a few times a week.
Went in around closing during the summer and I think the manager from cash with coloured hair thought we were stealing and followed us and asked if we’re buying anything
Nice place to shop. The aisles are not too crowded therefore it's easier to shop there. The self checkout is easy to use.
They have everything from groceries to household items however they are a bit pricier than the other stores which I guess is why the store is not as crowded as the others.
Nice place for quick shopping. A undant parking space available. Wheelchair parking/accessibility.
Parking was not great as lot was not cleaned up so every possible stall could be used. Then as you enter your approached by a bmo girl trying to sell you on a credit card, she is nice but her placement at the front is wrong. The selling of candy bars by Foothills Soccer waS awesome. I loved buying from them. Pricing in store well better placement of stickers would be an improvement. Hey store manager maybe offering free coffee on cold days near entrance would get you more customers.
Good grocery store. Friendly staff, but they are sonetimes hard to find when you have a question. Good selection of food both fresh and not. Ok standard chain grocery store.
Update: I am so very happy to see some things leaving the shelf with environmentally friendly products replacing them. There is less plastic in the produce section! Thank you! Would love to see Zero and absolutely no styrofoam!
I would love the hear the question "did you bring your reusable bags today? " From the cashiers!
I also would love to see the local products market better to promote people shopping locally!
Old: Would like to see more fruit and vegetables in less plastic! Wonderful deli section. Bring your own container to get your deli needs! Great place to shop when I can't shop at the farmers markets.
Clean, smells fresh, feels fresh, it is simply pleasant to go there. Not to mention the top quality products, and the bakery is on the elegant French Patisserie side. One of my comfort stores.
Was there this morning and ended up chatting with the person who deals directly with their rep for vegetarian products. We had a great ans informative chat. Pretty much everyone who works here is extremely friendly and helpful.
Very unimpressed with the customer service. 6 month pregnant, and trying to wait patiently for service in the deli. Stood there for 10 minutes, all while a woman at the customer service desk kept looking at me. I walked up and asked her for some assistance. She said "well they haven't gone home yet", so I then had to ask her to call for service to the deli then. She paged once, very quietly. I went back and waited another 10 minutes. Now the woman at the customer service desk and a cashier are standing at the desk watching me. I gave up, dropped off my basket of groceries on her desk and left.
I am very disappointed with Sobey's in McKenzie towne, as I live in a neighborhood, I stop by often, but in a past year or so, I have noticed that store is managed very poorly, many, many items are missing, lately shelfs are half empty. Few monts ago when I complained about water (compliments-red label) that they never have enough, they told me that they are reorganizing.they have been reorganizing for a long time or maybe somebody doesn't know how to manage this store. If the red label water is what people are buying more then blue label, then don't you think you should order more.
Very expensive now sadly. Be aware of how sale items are marked. Not always as it really is it seems due to clever wording. It is a lovely store and staff are pretty good but I have to loom elsewhere now for better prices,
