Sobeys - Spruce Grove

We have been shopping at this store for over 30 years. Never has it been this bad. Understand there is a new manager. Since HE took over shelves are bare, they never carry sale items, prices have risen, produce is usually half spoiled. Wouldn’t shop there but my hubby is a Sobeys employee (not at the store) he is very faithful to Sobeys & their compliments brand. Will be changing that once he retires.

Bought a salad here, 15 $ no salad dressing and almost entirely made of lettuce, very disappointed.

Very kind staff who bag your groceries in paper bags, waits are usually not long, and prices are reasonable.

I was in a big hurry heading to the airport and was very fortunate to have Megan working the post office counter. Thank you Megan I made my flight because of your help, great postal outlet because of you.

Very clean store, and the produce I went in to pick up was fresh the the staff was top notch and friendly as was the checkout girl.

I had the pleasure of meeting Darrion today while picking up a few things on the way home from work. He was a very polite and helpful cashier, what a very kind young man. It's nice to see some old fashion customer service, great job Sobeys!

This grocery store is a great place to get fresh baked goods from the bakery section. It's always super soft bread and buns. This stores employees are very welcoming and always have smiles to greet you with. Also the bathroom is kept very clean as well!

Always a clean store even before the current situation. Hand cleaning as you enter or exit the store. Access and egress points well marked. The staff is friendly and helpful. This goes for both the stores. The store appears to adjust quickly to customer volumns at check out.

No communication from cashier except do you want a bag, do you have air miles. Didn't tell me I had air miles I could spend. Just took payment.

Wonderfully clean store, prices a bit high, however that's happening everywhere. Great helpful staff! I had a wonderful experience!

Purchased some apples at Sobeys today. I have not shopped there for a long time. After I paid and was given the change I took a couple of seconds to count the change. When I looked up the older cashier was glaring at me. I did not know why. I picked up the apples, said "Thank you" to which she then smiled and said "Your welcome". It appeared that she glaring at me for taking too long to thank her. Is it not up to her to say THANK YOU as I am the customer and I don't have to shop there? I walked out and decided that if that is how Sobeys want to treat their customers then I will never be a customer again. With all the grocery stores in Spruce Grove you would think that they would want to treat all customers with respect.

Sorry to have this place put on hold again because of the virus.
It's an awesom Vietnamese restaurant and one of my favorite places for soups.
I hope they can survive.

The liquor store employees are very rude. Evey time I have gone in there the ladies at the front are always full of attitude and not nice what so ever. The man in back was nice and helpful today, but the cashier was straight up rude. Never going back.

Around 3pm i was at this location. This fat dark haired cashier chick in till 6 was really rude to a senior man about his air miles card. I'm lined up for about 5 minutes.the light on her till was still on. Only to be told when it's my turn that she's closed in a snotty way. Maybe install some self checkouts. I can do her job myself scanning and bagging my own groceries. Maybe she'll be more enthusiastic towards her job having to worry about a machine that's more useful than her.

Sent my 16 year old son to this store Friday evening to get some grated parmesan cheese, after looking for it and not finding some asked 2 different employees who said they don't carry it.
I went there today looked myself and found a full shelf in 3 different sizes.
I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of effort or was it because he's young or.

Sobeys has done a good job following all rules for everyone's safety for this Covid pandemic. Clean and well organized.

I was at this store Sun Mar 22 2020 early afternoon on the hunt for 1 package of toilet paper for my mother (98 yrs of age & in supportive living, currently in lock down) l could not believe how some people would be so selfish to take more than they need and no thought given to others' needs. Alas, no tp here either. I mentioned to the cashier, Justin, how disappointed my mom would be that l failed again when he asked me if l could wait until he could check the back. Soon, he came back with a package of tp that should see her through quite a few days. Thank you for employing such upstanding young people. They truly are the rock stars and our world is in good hands with young people such as Justin. He deserves a raise. And thank you Justin!

Here’s a solid piece of advice. It costs a company far less to allow employees to learn from their mistakes than it does to fire them over it and hire a new person. Odds are mistakes will be far less from employees who learn and get better and more efficient than repeated ones from constant new employees.

I was in a hurry picking up some last minute grocerys and I had staff members helping me find what I needed. They were all super kind and friendly. The moment i walked in the doors i could feel the warm welcoming community that is spruce grove sobeys and it made groceries feel way less stressful because of the amount of warm hearts working there. They were all so kind and helpful I would always go back because of the 10/10 experience. The store was also very clean with shelves fully stocked and put in order. It's clear that managment works hard to make this store so amazing and the workers work hard to keep it that way. From looking at the store you can see the amount of hard work all management puts in to keep this place the kind clean welcoming environment that it is.

Terrible management! Do not work here. They will wrongfully dismiss you! Needs to find better management!

Terrible treatment to employees. Too many red flags and numerous wrongful dismissals due to poor company culture and standards. I refuse to shop at an establishment who doesn't care for their staff. There are PLENTY other grocery stores and options to chose from.

What a clean and well stocked store! I stopped in to grab a couple of things and was really impressed by the cleanliness and selection. Found items that no other local store has, highly recommend this store for quality.

Absolute worst management. How the hell can they fire a NEW worker for a simple mistake. Will never shop there again and will be sending message to everyone I know not to support this location. Management should be fired!

Wrongfully fire staff for no reason. Poor management and training. People should never be treated this way. Do not shop here, there are far better grocery stores to go to.

Unjust treatment of employees. This Sobeys placed wrongful dismissal of a new employee for making a simple mistake. If this establishment expects no mistakes to be made while training a new employee, they have poor leadership and an inadequate approach to training. Terminating a women in need of a job as the holidays approach is cruel, poor management. You should be ashamed.

Tonight we met a wonderful fellow named Brent who showed us the new spot for the Cheese Whiz. He also took the time to chat and joke with us. And then when we ran into him at the front of the store he gave us a copy of a great cookbook. He said he had a good feeling about us.

Brent didn't know this but my husband Cory Kaminsky was diagnosed this spring with terminal cancer. This Christmas we are trying to make the most of because the doctors have told us it will be his last. One of Cory's passions is cooking.

Brent, thank you for your kindness. It came at the best time. Keep up the great work. And thanks for giving us a great story for our kids about the good people in the world.

Absolutely wonderful store! Staff are friendly and the management are knowledgeable. I love a store that gives back to the community and Sobeys definitely does! Not to mention that the quality of products is better than anywhere else, just a great little store to stop at. Keep up the great work Sobeys Spruce Grove!

For such a well established and trusted grocery store chain, you’d think they’d have adequate training programs for new staff and the leadership to support and assist new employees when simple mistakes are made. I’m appalled at their recent wrongful firing of a woman in desperate need of a job, not to mention during the holiday season. Just disgusting. Times are hard, why don’t we support and encourage each other instead of giving up on them? Won’t be supporting Sobeys in the future.

The cashiers and staff here are so nice. They always take a minute to say hi to my kids and ask them how their day was. They run fun little contests over the holidays for the littles, too. And they always help when my hands are full with loading groceries into my vehicle. Great job Sobeys.

Rude staff, most of their labels contain no nutritional data, constantly out of very specific items for weeks and weeks.
