Lovely Greek restaurant in a central part of Jasper, owned by a Greek family making genuine Greek food. Very generous portions, even for the kid meals. It does advertise itself as a steakhouse but none of had the steaks, so cannot comment. Service was prompt and friendly.
Meal was very well prepared and presented not to mention (very tasty) always a stop when in Jasper over the last 20 years. Prices are reasonable also, can't go wrong. Enjoy
We booked this restaurant from the UK about 10 days beforehand. Turns out we didn’t need to as it was a Sunday and there were very few people eating.
The restaurant is very easy place to find as it is on one of the main streets of Jasper.
We were seated at the back of the restaurant but there are tables outside if the weather is pleasant enough to do so.
We ordered 2 starters to share and a main each. The Greek salad and the Spanakopita were both lovely. However, the moment I put my fork down after eating the last bit of my starters, the mains arrived.
The souvlaki we ate was well prepared and served hot.
Overall the experience and service was too fast, probably due to the fact that there were very few people in the restaurant and the chef was clearly quite keen to finish service. We were basically in and out in around 75 minutes.
The meal was very nice but I prefer a more relaxed dinner experience and would rather have a slower service than eat a two course meal in a short space of time.
We chose here for our anniversary based on reviews although I'd had an excellent sirloin in Montana's the night before. The sirloin wasn't available so had the striploin (medium). It was the chewiest steak I've had in years and when I told our server she suggested it might not have been as chewy if I'd had it cooked more! Very disappointed.
Came in with my son. In town for skiing and have never been here in our many years of being here. Absolutely a gem! Had the pizza as our main and it’s the best in town. Great service and cool drinks as well. Can’t wait to bring the rest of our family!
Two Brits on a road trip through Canada; we decided to give this restaurant a try after reading the mixed reviews. We were not disappointed. The place was busy, but we were seated quickly and our waitress was very attentive. The food was delicious and the portions very generous. The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly, and we had a lovely chat with our Ukrainian waitress. We thoroughly recommend this restaurant, but try it for yourselves. We hope you won’t be disappointed.
They were so kind to our impatient toddlers, churned out delicious meals even though they were clearly short staffed, and kept our glasses topped up all evening. Love the wide variety of dishes on the menu so everyone was happy, but their classic Greek offerings like the lamb souvlaki and spanakopita are my faves!
While leaving Jasper, we were looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon this restaurant- the name was intriguing… the food, somewhat below average. I had the baked salmon which lacked flavour and was quite watery. My partner had the 3-cheese grilled cheese… nothing special. The place is clean and quite old school in terms of decor. Staff was super friendly.
Great service and great Greek food.what more can you ask for? This was my first time trying Kopanisti and it was awesome. Kids devoured the chicken rice soup.
My inner carnivore was influencing my choice of meals this day so I decided on a steak. I ended up here at Something else and I was pleasantly surprised. A Greek restaurant with great steaks, good exactly how I requested it. Better than the steaks however, where the potatoes! I cleared those off the plate quickly and almost reached over and ate the potatoes off my coworkers plate. Trust me: get the potatoes
Man, the wings in this place are top notch but the Greek Salad, now that was "something else". Perfection I tell ya. Great job, good food and even better service!
The Food was tasty huge selection to choose from. It is not the best place to go for a quiet date night. The restaurant was completly packed but if you dont mind that the food and service was excellent. For how busy they were it did not take long for dinner. Would definetly go back.
This is our second visit to this place unfortunately it will be out last due to poor food and services. Our friend order the penne and it was too spicy. I and two of the group order the peppercorn rib eye. The steaks came out thin and seem undersize. All our steak was way overspice and definitely too salty.
Too add insult to our evening when we complaint on the penne. Our waitress was not compliant with our complaint.
I mean yeah the food is good, but a little ridiculous. I ordered baked pasta which usually comes with garlic toast, but they put that as a add on for almost $2 which was a single piece of bread with butter on it. For an extra $1 you could've bought a full loaf
Greek appetizers and salads were great but the steaks were truly disappointing for a place that calls itself a steakhouse in Alberta. Pounded-thin, gristly. Stick with the Greek options instead.
Something Else Restaurant is simply the best. We go for the world class food, but there's much to be said about the ambience, top notch service and entertainment. Not to mention affordable prices. Can't go wrong here.
This little gem of a restaurant is amazing, the food is unreal (ordered blackened chicken, and lamb slovaki) and we had Michael as our waiter and he was super friendly and knew what to suggest for our cravings! Will definitely be back when we come Jasper again.
By reading excellent reviews from other customers can’t stop wondering if there are more than one chef, and we missed the good shift. My ribs order was terrible, cooked well but Greek sauce needs immediate substitution. Side potatoes + vegetables just tasteless. Pricey? Definitely
What can I say about Something Else restaurant? Absolutely AMAZING- they took our table at 9: 30 with NO problem, the hostess was outstanding, and our entire family loved the food. I highly recommend the Blackened Chicken here.
Very disappointed. The server kept asking us if we’re done, and the steak was ready just 3 minutes after we ordered. We strongly suspect the steak was precooked.
Was visiting Alberta from Montreal and this restaurant was by far the best place we ate at during our whole trip! The service was great, welcoming, friendly and kind. The restaurant has both a fun and charming bar, as well as warm and cozy family sit down style. Last but not least, the food! The food was mouth watering! Hats off the the cheft and the staff! Hope to come back soon!
I give 3 because calamari was very good as well as the service. Quick service too.
The main plates were very salty (Alfredo pasta and bay back ribs).
Alfredo Pasta was not the same Alfredo pasta that I am used elsewhere, was more like a salty soup (tasting good but not as expected and too much salty)
They claim to serve authentic AAA Alberta steak, they charge the price of a AAA Alberta steak but the meat was average and quality was very disappointing. I do not recommend.
Great selection of food with an emphasis on Greek food. The server was great and the Halibut was amazing for all the way out in Jasper. Great decor, vibe, and atmosphere. We'd recommend this to anyone and the chicken chunks work well for kids!
Went looking for a meal a little later in the evening and was amazed by the food and the service (thanks Michael) at this gem of a restaurant. Bring an appetite!
We are frequent travellers and have to say, they have some of the best services we had in a very long time. Food was ok. We had the lamb kebab and donair plate on the lunch menu so they aren’t too pricey. Their cocktails were quite expensive however but we really enjoyed our time at the restaurant.
Well maintained, kind staff. Lentil soup was great! Shrimp Appetizer was okay. Amazing greek salad but I felt lamb soluvaki was a bit hard.they were kind enough to swap pita bread with rice.
The food here is absolutely delicious; no word of a lie. The chicken kebabs seems to be marinated with so much flavor.
Unfortunately, it is extremely expensive here. An over-packed plate in Toronto is about $12-15 with an extra kebab. I've paid close to $40 for the same size under-packed plate with an extra kebab. To each their own ️
Incredible food, such a treat! The chicken souvlaki with the ultra fresh Greek salad was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The drinks were all top shelf quality (try the strawberry mojito with properly crushed mint) and the dark torte desert was delicious. The waiter was amazing and the atmosphere was clean authentic and romantic. This is my new go to place in Jasper and exceeded all of our expectations.
Love it so much we went back a week later. The food is great, hits the spot after a long day on the slopes. Service is great. Love the personal touches from this family run business.
Best calamari I have ever had. Tzatziki was so good. We were a table of 7, but due to restrictions we obviously couldn't sit with one another. They were so great and found us 2 tables near eachother.
Worst Food ever! We ordered Hummus and Alfredo Pasta. I didn't have that taste ever in my life. I used to have pasta and hummus all the time, so I know the taste better. That time I was having so much craving for both the things, but it was something else in taste. I think you never had actual arabic hummus in your life that is understandable, but I got amazed that you don't know the pasta recipe too. When you don't know how to make it, then why do you place it in your menu. First eat it yourself, then serve it to others.
You guys good for nothing. Neither for Arabic food nor for Italian.
Suggestion for good food in Jasper: Better go to L & W Restaurant, which has good ambiance (you can't go to though because of Covid), and amazing food with decent quantity.
Always love to dine in here but they really need to do better at their takeout service.they put the burger (wrapped) with salad together so the salad dressing is all over the package of the burger. Didn’t provide any napkins and utensils either. Went back and got napkins but no, no utensils.
Amazing food with a more amazing service. They were super attentive and were able to anticipate my every need. The lamb souvlaki was cooked to perfection and they filled the plate so it was very filling. It was super spacious in the restaurant and felt very clean. I would recommend this for their Greek cuisine but they also have steaks, ribs, burgers and pastas.
Excellent restaurant. Safe and sound with plexiglass and such. Had the lamb kebab which was amazing and the lasagna which was solidly good. Excellent staff and seated our family of 6 no problem!
Well me, my wife and our 2 kids almost went to bed hungry tonight because these guys decided not to answer the phone past 9: 42pm. We even called ahead of time to make sure they were open till 11 and would deliver. Not good at all. We really had high hopes from this place after looking at reviews. We tried calling for over half hour with no answer.
Expensive for what you get. A tasteless small pcs of salmon and so much fries for 30$ no veggies or rice, the waiter was like we serve rice with on dinner menu. The kids burgers where bread and bun no veggies. Service is just average. The spicy shrimps as a starter is a real scam. (4 Small pcs and tasteless too) I’m giving 2 stars for the Angus beef we had in the burger!
Do you have anything Gluten Free? Owners: "Yes for sure heres your table" Server: " The food is prepared and marinated earlier, and the marinade is not Gluten Free. " If we wouldnt have asked the server, I would be in a lot of pain now, so we left after discussing half an hour.
I can't say enough about this Fantastic restaurant. We had the most Delicious meal here yesterday for our 40th Anniversary. Everything was prepared perfectly. The lamb was the Most tender I've ever eaten. You've got to try the Saganaki, if you Love cheese as much as I do. It comes straight from Greece. This restaurant takes pride in everything they serve. The atmosphere is delightful & it is uniquely decorated.
Our waiter went out of his way to make our meal a perfect one. Thank you soo much Lada. You are an amazing person, very delightful & so friendly. We couldn't have asked for anything better.
Honestly, I didn’t have a good experience in this place. And I think it might be overrated. Most importantly for the food itself, it lacks character and authenticity, the taste is blunt and protein portions are not matched with the carbs sides! It’s just super weird. They lost all the stars though for messing up our orders, the oven roasted potato that we asked was more of a boiled potato! The appetizer that we ordered never came and the waitresses only response was “ops”. And those are just examples of the horrible service that we got. I don’t like to post such reviews but in this case I did it because I really wanted them to up their game, they have all the potential to be a great spot in this beautiful town.
OMG! Super friendly staff/servers. Fabulous food! Everyone in the restaurant was smiling and having a good time. I ordered the Something Else Pizza special for dinner, and it was amazing! Best pizza in Jasper! We heard another restaurant in Jasper had good pizza and we were seriously disappointed. But Something Else has amazing pizza! Everything from the dough to the sauce is done and made in house and you can taste the freshness and passion in every bite. My wife had the chicken donair for dinner. It is a Greek restaurant so let’s just say they did not disappoint! We definitely recommend this family owned restaurant who obviously takes pride in the food they prepare. We will make this a must for dinner next time we visit Jasper. Huge thank you to everyone at Something Else for making our last meal in Jasper so wonderful and memorable!
