South Calgary Medical Clinic

Absolutely no help infact basically since i didnt have my health care card just shrugged there shoulders and to go to another clinic whos staff werent lacking in empathy or even any information about what i should do instead. The last few times ive needed a doctor having picture id theyve just looked it up but apparently the staff at this clinic cant be bothered to actually help people.

I'm so glad I found this clinic for emergency walk-ins for my family. My family doctor's office is super booked up and they can't get you in for the day and the rep, depending what time of the day wouldnt allow walk-ins as they can't guarantee you'll be seen at all. So far all doctors we met at least 5 different doctor over the year have been great! Don't free rushed, would spend the time to explain and been super great with the kids.

This is by far the best walk in clinic I have ever been to. Super friendly staff and didn’t have to wait too long.

Loved the doctor. She was so kind after all the stress I've been through. Its a nice open space. Nice people. Going there again.

This is my go to walk in clinic. My family dr only works 2 days a week so I often find myself here when sick.

I usually come in on an evening or a weekend. The wait is usually 60-90 minutes but they let you leave for a short time and then come back.

If contagious they make you wait in the car which is actually more comfortable than the waiting room!

The Drs that I have seen have been great. I have seen Dr Glendinning and Dr Barnard and they were both lovely. I have also seen a male Dr who was also nice but I am unsure of his name as it was 2 years ago.

I recommend this clinic.

They turned away an AISH client who wanted to get a form filled.
It was a single block of text, but they said "no" because they weren't the family doctor and the form was "too complicated. " They were quick to respond to this, however.

Free access to health care in Canada = charging you 60 dollars to see a doctor.

I have been coming here since I was in elementary school as my family doctor cared for our family for over 20 years, unfortunately he retired last year and his replacement doctor (Dr. Weirzbicki) is the most unprofessional and incapable doctor south Calgary medical has ever had. Two times I visited her I left crying and on my last visit was essentially told that she was incapable of prescribing me anxiety medication? My eldest family members who unfortunately still have to have her as a doctor also have left in tears and feeling like she simply does not care. I left a honest review of my concerns on web MD and got a letter of termination a few weeks later claiming my care had been terminated due to my ‘defamatory’ review but my review was nothing but facts about what happened in her office and how she treated me behind closed doors, the other reviews left in her webMD page say very similar things so it’s hard to believe I would be let go as a patient due to her being incompetent and unkind. Other doctors in the clinic however have been super amazing to make appointments with as well as super caring and diligent with their care just as Dr. Ginzer was.

Not only is doctor Chang fabulous but so are the nurses and the girls who work at the nursing station in the back. The last few times I have sat on the chairs at the back I have received nothing but compliments. From my hair to my smile. They are so friendly and so accommodating. It’s taken me close to 20 years to find a place like this. So very thankful for my doctors office

This place is unbelievable, we came at 10: 45am for a walk in. There were 3 people ahead of us in the waiting room. They said wait time is 30-45 mins.
Fast forward it’s 12: 45pm and the same 3 people is still ahead of us.
Came up to the reception to ask about wait time, she blamed me that we came just before lunch time and the wait for us it 30-45 mins, 2 hours later!
No sympathy, like people have nothing else to do other than wait forever. Unbelievable, if I wanted to wait 3-4 hours could just go to Emergency. And why lie about it? Give people a true estimate before wasting everyone’s time like it doesn’t matter!

Warning - if you’re thinking of rushing here because they’re the only place open, DON’T, because they probably closed early due to a LACK of patients, not an influx of them. Called their number at 7pm on a Tuesday, got a message that said they don’t answer phones after 4pm but they’re still open if stated in their operational hours. Made the trek down only to find the gates up, door locked at 8: 15pm with a sign saying “if our hours say we’re open but we’re not, it’s because we have reached our maximum capacity of patients for the evening and due to the high volume of patients…” with an empty waiting room and someone mopping on the other side of the gate. Clearly, there were no patients. I was fully prepared to be turned away 45 minutes before close if I found a full waiting room (or even a few people waiting), but this was clearly not the case and therefore quite frustrating. Other businesses aren’t allowed (by corporate, usually) to lock their doors 45 minutes before stated closing time due to a lack of customers, but apparently government funded healthcare is - nice.

Excellent walk in clinic. Everyone is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable. I went in at 9: 00 this morning. There were 10 people ahead of me. I saw the doctor and was out of the clinic by 9: 40. I will continue to visit this clinic.

Today, April 7,2023, at 3: 30 in the afternoon, my daughter and I went to this clinic to see a doctor about a broken finger on my daughter's hand.
We provided a Health Benefits Card, but the employee at the front desk said that it was ineligible and we had to either pay money or provide another card.
I explained that it was a card that I was the custodian of, but it had my daughter's name on it as a dependent with her insurance number.
The employee didn't verify this and repeatedly said no, it didn't fit her.
I went home, wasted my time and gas money, but as it turned out later, the receptionist did deign to check the Health Benefits Card I provided right away and it turned out to be a match.
It turns out that other people in the same situation could not only lose their time, but also to pay because of an incompetent employee money they should not pay.
I ask the clinic administration to lecture their employees and explain what Health Benefits Card is valid and that before you tell someone to pay money or go home for another card, you must check the card the visitor provides.
This is outrageous!

We got to the clinic at 8: 45p.m on Apr 4, but it was closed while it says they open until 9: 00 p.m. We called before we go, and automated message said they opened until 9: 00p.m between Mon to Thur. That's why we drove 40 min to get there. Should keep the time.

I have attending this clinic for many years the front desk staff in my opinion are first class and attentive. The nurses if you need to call are also first class. I recently have a new Dr.and she is great. Reason for the review I had to go to walk in and saw a Dr. Wong and again received excellent service and got my questions answered. Thank you.

Visited first thing yesterday morning after hitting several other walk-in clinics that had hours listed as 7: 30am (but were closed for
Walk-in’s when I got there).
Defeated, I walked in at about 8am and asked if someone could see me and that I was happy to wait. Mentioned I had symptoms of our favourite pandemic, but had tested negative just that morning.
Front desk staff was nice, directed me to the back door and went straight into a PPE labelled room.
Waited about only 10 minutes and met with Dr. Glendinning. Through and understanding they listened to my symptoms and evaluated accordingly. Even double checked my medical history. One of the best walk-in clinics I have ever experienced.
Sent on my way with medication and advice to hopefully kick this nasty sinus issue I’ve had for weeks. Was at the pharmacy before 9am.
