I will add my review. We have been here several times and really enjoyed the slides and the pool.

Super fun for both kids and adults. Their aqua fitness centre is incredible and they have a large selection of other activities! I highly recommend getting their family pass.

Last visited mid-June 2023. Great place to go for a swim! Love the kid area-super friendly staff-really appreciated how we got a discount cause we came for the last hour of the public swim time frame. My wife also went here a different day and she mentioned how she was offered to only pay an hourly rate due to having young kids with her, and really appreciated that too!

Fantastic pool, however whenever I step in the change rooms, I can't tell whether or not the liquid on the floor is urine

South land is an affordable recreation centre for my kids, they always beg to come here every weekend with there friends. We go as many time as we can as its nearby, inexpensive, and the facility is well maintained. We highly recommend Southland if you have a young family and want a great place to have fun

Children of all ages and anyone who loves being in the water will love this place. Great for children in the 10-14 years age like mine. They absolutely adore this place. I wish we had one closer to our home. But it is worth the drive over. Not too bad anyways

Large pool with lots of entertainment for children! Waves included ;) prices are descent and they have cheap days on Thursdays I believe. They also have squash courts and a fitness centre although you pay for childcare when I went to ask.

They also have venues for children birthdays. Attended one in 2019 and it was good. Although the room was rather dark, lighting was terrible. Just a recommendation to please put light bulbs in the room at the entrance. But I did like that you can bring the food and the cake and they take care of the rest! They had a big and fun inflatable castle.

This place is a lot of fun with a variety of activities for many different ages. The big kids love the wave pool, the littlest one likes the baby pool area and there's a fun zone for the kids between.

We recently rented the Bouncer room for my child's third birthday party. You get this giant fun inflatable for two whole hours perfect for very active preschoolers, and a long table to set up as you like and bring in your own food - all these in a modest-sized room that you'll have all to yourself and your guests. Rate is very reasonable and customer service has been great to deal with. Would highly recommend.and must book way early. They can fill up pretty fast, especially on weekends.

Amazing place to go if you want to swim or work out, also you get very good rewards if you volunteer there. You can a free treat every week, and free access to the swimming pool and gym before and after your shift.

Haven't been here in many years! It's still a blast - wave pool, rinks, gyms, showers, great service at the counter - what more could you want. Yes, lots of parking, reasonable rates - it's here!

Good place for family time! Swimming pools for different ages with waves, and temperature is really warm. Also there are hot tub, sauna, waterslides. But before visiting will be better to clarify the public hours, becourse sometimes there is a training, and you can not visit.

The best wave pool in Calgary. They take safety seriously, but let you have fun. Multiple pools and slides, kids play area, and rope swings. My kids love it there. If the pool was just a few degrees warmer it would be 5 stars! Despite access to the hot tub and sauna you get cold pretty quick.

Nice recreational facility. Life guards seem to be very attentive, which gives good peace of mind. Fun water slides, good family pool overall. I noticed the basketball hoops had wire looking nets on the rims, which I thought was absolutely RIDICULOUS! I saw a kid having to knock his ball out (as it would get stuck) everytime he shot. Other than that, nice family rec center!

Always a good time! They have waterslides, a wave pool with a rope swing, diving pool, kiddie pool, kids "water playground", a hot tub, steam room, etc. Reasonably priced. That's just the pool side. There's also a hockey rink, gymnastics area, weight room, etc, although I've never used those. Overall I'd say it's great for just about anyone, but definitely for families!

Had an amazing time! With multiple water slides, a wave pool, hot tub and spring diving board there's fun for everyone! The childrens swim area is great too!

Was visiting to find out how disability and large person friendly it was. Staff were great letting us look around at everything to actually see how easy it would be to access. Well set up for walkers and plus size people. When staff didn't know the answers they quickly found them out for us, like could we take oxygen tank and walker onto the pool deck (yes) or bring in a private reasonably sized flotation device (yes). 1 Handicapped stall in the first row of parking lot directly across from the door and several more a few yards away. Racket ball courts, a work out gym, varied court sport gymnasium, small swim and sport store/rental place to rent tubes for the wave pool. Hot tub, kiddie pool, slides, dive tank and more. They also have a great Lifemark sports therapy center upstairs that helped rehab my horrible ankle injury after a year of getting misdiagnosed elsewhere. Highly recommned this leisure center

Stopped here one overcast day during a 6-week holiday. Brilliant public pool - my sons loved the slides, wave pool and wreaking ball swing. Very good value too. Didn’t realise the coin is swallowed when you reopen the locker and I didn’t have a spare - rookie mistake!

Probably the cleanest and most complete in calgary. The pool is awesome for indoor pool, gym is well kept and clean, many other activities in house.

A good spot this summer to beat the heat. Staff were friendly and the shower/changing room was clean. A bit crowded though but it was totally fun at the pool.

We have monthly passes here and love coming as a family, or sometimes we get a babysitter and come hit the steam room and sauna for a date night. So fun.

Have been going here for many years. Did a rock climbing camp when I was in my teens, discovered I'm not a fan of heights. One of the best wave pools in the city. Can be busy but I don't find it too overcrowded. Hockey rink is always kept up, good ice. Was one of my favorite arenas to go to. Parking can be a challenge as there's not a lot of spots.

Really great pool, waterslides that are age appropriate all the way from toddler to older kids. Kids always have a great time! No toilets in the family change room though.

This is one of the leisure centres owned by the city and opened in 1983 so this place is a bit worn out but there are so many activities to do here. Staff is always helpful and friendly. They have the wave pool, toddlers pool, water park, slides, steam room, hot tub. Liked the large steam rooms here and the wading pool is great for little ones. There is a cafe by the pool area accessible from the pool and outside. There is a climbing wall, skating rink, and party rooms you can rent here as well as all the gyms for sports from gymnastics to racquetball. There is also a pro shop for sporting goods. Not to mention general admission is only $29.35 for families. You can also purchase annual membership for $700.

I swim and wave pool is in dire need of a major renovation, but still a ton of fun! Wish the wave pool had access to outside to sun tan and relax.

My daughter always ends up getting super red eyes and very itchy after swimming here but every kid is different when swimming in chlorine defiantly a fun leisure center and the Great staff here are always a pleasure to deal with

Is a very nice facility, is well kept by the city and the staff. Very friendly place to visit and the staff go out of their way yo be helpful.

They tried to kick us out because we have 7 kids and the adult to kid ratio is 3/1. Sad a family has to argue to take there kids swimming all with life jackets

Everytime i got to the concession the lady is so rude and never gets the order right. Then just stares at me blankly when i tell her shes made a mistake! I advise to NEVER eat at the concession!

Southland Leisure Centre is a great facility where memories are made for the whole family. There are twin arenas where Calgary minor hockey and other arena sports and events are played, year round. They have a waterpark with waterslides, timed waves in their wavepool, a hot tub, a dive tank, a concession stand, and much more! At SLC there are also gym facilities such as martial arts training rooms, a climbing wall, and other featurable activities within gymnasiums, equipped with sporting goods for group participations. Day camps run throughout the summer. Excellent opportunities to build your children's self-esteem and confidence, while opening up your summer schedule!

I have yet to be at this centre and not be greeted by happy, smiling front desk staff. The centre provides programs for people of all ages. They also have a physiotherapy clinic. My only negative remark is that there are very few handicap parking spots which can make it difficult if you are limited on how far you can walk. I would highly recommend this recreation centre to anyone looking for a day of fun and adventure with the family

Had a blast here with my wife and 5 month old daughter. In the pool area there is 2 slides, a wave pool, hot tub, kid pool, and a water play ground. Looked like a neat place to have a young B-day party as well.

Fun place for older kids or infants: not much to enjoy for the toddlers or preschoolers. Excessively loud with zero frills. Everything is old and needs to be renovated (badly!) For the price, it's just OK for this age group.

Full service leisure centre. 3 slides, large hot tub, concession, rentals. Clean place, great programs, easy to get to. Big waves, smaller lagoon, wading pool and steam bath. Updated facilities with an observation lounge and lots of meeting rooms. City owned so consistent with other city facilities.

Staff was great, gave information for our family in regards to recreational schedules.
Price is worth it 29.50 for husband, son and myself. Daughter was free! Gotta love that.
Hours for public swimming 12 to 430pm then 7 to 10pm.
Washrooms for family were okay not enough showers for families room.
Baby pool was clean. Didnt swim in other pools cause I was with my daughter.
Hot tub was great.
Would love to go again.

We really enjoyed our time here which may make the 3 star review confusing. My only complaint was the cost. $13.35 per adult to swim seemed a bit steep. We were there in the early afternoon and were told that we could come back in the evening too or use the weight room. But it didn't fit our plans for the day so despite the pretty clean facilities, friendly staff, and waves it will be a bit before we go back.

The lady working at the front desk looked us up and down and rolled her eyes at us when we got in line. Seriously. It wasn’t even busy. She didn’t even ask if she could help us. The other lady working there came over to the desk and was helpful.

Other than that, the facility was clean and there was lots to do!

Great facilities but need updating. Lifeguards need to be more diligent about rules. Was with kids and there was a woman eating in the hot tub wearing a bikini way to small for her and kept having nip slips.

With the wave pool, water slides, ball swing and splash park area there's a lot of fun stuff to do here but the air temperature felt quite chilly to us and the hot tub was packed with a line up. My 4 yr old's teeth were practically chattering when we were on the pool deck. Also the family change room has only one bathroom available and it wasn't even marked
