I used to love this Sports check store in Sunridge Mall. But now i feel like not coming there again, the staff in the til’ today, Dec. 22,2023@12noon (the white lady) is so strict about the points you are using, the money or card you will use to pay. How about we are paying using the family money? She has so much rules like the owner of the company. We totally understand the rules, but she has the own rules, i think she acted too much like a manager or the owner. Go to other branch of Sports Check not in this one.

Went to get help in hockey department and felt invisible. Employees walked passed me disregarding me who was in there for urgent help for equipment for a hockey game. After I chased an employee and was told and associate would be on their way I wait for a lengthy 5 min with no hope. An employee did come but gave incredible attitude when the size I needed was in the back. Do not recommend store. Employees even at check out ignored me as they discussed how they where going to hide the new pants they got in stock for them selfs. Disappointed.

Don't go wanting to try on shoes. Nobody is ever there to help you find the right size, or get a pair for you at all.

This location is always short staffed, had to wait 10 min to get someone to open up the trial room, waited 10 min again at the check out. The guys behind me were getting upset. Couldn’t get any help to check for another size.

Big selection of goods, there is a lot of sport products. I appreciate help from staff, during my first visit, but during my second visit staff didn’t payed attention to me for a long time.

I came in yesterday looking for a pair of skates with my bf and we were instantly approached by Nadia in the sports equipment section.she was very knowledgeable about products and took the time to make sure we got what we needed and were 100% satisfied with our purchase. Very friendly and helpful.

Lots of young staff who just are used to smiling pretty for customers. I get followed around the store even when I'm just with my kids, but when I ask for help that's when they dissappear. Every time I come to this store it's a bad experience, I wish they had adults working not just teenagers who don't take this job seriously. They act extremely annoyed if you ask them to do their job, and they still do it wrong. I remember for black Friday I was asking to find a size and the lady refused to help me, I had to ask five times over and over and she would just keep pointing "oh over there, that's all we have" and I'm like ok but can you show me which ones are on sale.and she just glares at me and says I guess so and starts to finally come over and scan a couple things.as soon as she found one pair of pants she said that's it and stopped helping me. I would've bought more then that. Went here to get bikes the other day.extremely rude again, the employee refused to listen to me or my kids and would only look and speak to my husband. We asked to speak to a manager and this very young guy refused us and the people that were ahead of us.we had to keep asking and about the fifth time we actually seen the manager. He apologized said it won't happen again but he wasn't even on the floor watching staff or helping customers.staff clearly does not care. Horrible experience both times. Won't return.

Staff are way too busy socializing with each other to get help, get annoyed when you ask for help and are definitely the rudest buch ever! Save your money and avoid this store!

Usually have a great experience here. Went in the other day. Wanted to use the change room and the fella looked at me, walked right by me to ask his buddy if he was working today and then started a full on conversation with ecother. Was so insulated I left.

Not so many varieties of shoes. However, the sale is going on, but I couldn't find anything worth of money. But you can ho check, may be you like something, Everybody has different choices. Good clean place.

Went here today at 5 pm to return a pair of shoes bought online that didn't fit my girlfriend. Horrible customer service. We were greeted with a frown by a young lady at the first counter who looked very uninterested in helping us. The customer service here is no where near Hudson's bays and other sport check branches. Lady you look very unhappy with your job and it shows. You`re putting a negative image on the company.

Just went here and left the store around 7: 30pm tonight. Everyone on shift was very nice. 3 different associates asked me if I needed help when they pass by me. One guy in particular came up and asked if I’m still doing okay when I looked like I needed help. The store manager is very helpful too esp with how to get the store promo with the rewards card. I went to a different branch last night and they were all trying to avoid me. I was buying shoes. It’s not like I can grab them myself. So I’m really pleased everyone is nice and happy to help in this location.

Very bad shopping experience. Bought runners for my 2 year old. 3 different people assisted us and i had to ask for help all 3 times. Not 1 of the 1st 2 came back to check back on us. Terrible service especially shopping for shoes for a toddler. If you are looking for shoes i wont recommend unless you don't mind asking for help a few times and have time to wait.

Staff was super helpful and friendly, but it took almost an hour and a half for a basic skate sharpening. I was initially told 15-20 minutes. Okay no problem. Did some browsing, was then told 10-15 longer. No worries. Then at the hour mark was told they are missing a piece on their sharpener, but they have it now, and should only be ten more minutes. Finally received my skates about 15-20 minutes later. Again, very friendly staff, just terrible execution.

The customer service I got over here is the worst. Literally the worst. I would love to give this store -5 stars but unfortunately, it does not goes less than 1. If Sport Chek officials are reading this please act. Least customers deserve is little respect

I was extremely disappointed at this location today. I drove from out of town to purchase a specific pair of shoes. I knew exactly what I wanted and didn’t even need to try them on. I found this style at the heritage location previously and was told the only pair left in my size was at Sunridge. So after driving all the way back to Calgary and arriving at exactly 8 pm, the store was closed. I realize the store closing is a normal thing and wouldn’t normally ask for any special treatment, but it was exactly 8 pm. I explained My situation to the staff and they could not have cared any less. I’ve never been a fan of this store, due to its messy nature and poor customer service, but I’m extremely put off now. Maybe put those lazy employees back on a commission base and see how their attitudes change. Zero stars.

Worst Customer Service Ever!
Went to bought a bike during their business hours, they said they can't sell bike to me because they don't have technician to tune up.

Staff was not cooperating at all.

Not going back to any sports check again.

Went in to buy a pair of high-end running shoes. Not a single salesperson in sight. I shouldn't have to hunt one down. After fifteen minutes, I went to Foot Locker and bought a pair. They were helpful from the moment I entered the store.

Went there to pick up a rain jacket and it was a nice clean store and they had a large selection for reasonable prices. My only issue was I had 4 staff members walk right by me and not a single word to me to see if I needed help.etc. I didn’t need the help but it would be nice for them to at least ask. Maybe work on your customer service then I will give 5 stars.

Got a couple of pairs of skates sharpened, quick and great service. In and out in 20 minutes. The skate sharpening card is a great way to go.

I have always had the best experience at all the stores, all the staff are always super nice except this time when a manager at Sunridge location Sheena decided to argue with me and decline the exchange for a product that was within the exchange policy (I called the store a day before to ensure if I can exchange the product provided them the date of the sale as well). She told me that she wouldn’t do it because the person I talked to the other day wasn’t a manager. Not sure why would an employee say otherwise over the phone and manager would throw an employee under the bus. I have seen retail make exceptions for customers and sport chek has gone above and beyond for me but the way she walked up to the front to talk to me and started arguing right off the bat without even listening to the issue was really disappointing. There are polite ways to decline the request, when I told her I came here because I was told that it is possible, she told me that it is ridiculous and even threatened me to call the security on me because I wouldn’t let her talk to me the way she was talking. She was extremely rude and even the customer standing behind me was shocked at the way she reacted. I’m extremely disappointed, it is 45/- product it’s not even about the return or exchange. It is about the way you decline a request or treat your customers. It was awkward when she threatened to call the security on me for god knows what reason. I think this is extremely rude and worst customer service experience ever!

Ill-mannered staff at the register I believe her name was Christina. When i explained to the other cashier about my experience apparently she already had a bad rep towards other customers and coworkers. Spoke to the manager (Mike I believed his name was) that time but it seemed like he did not care at all about my concern and he seemed like he was trying to cover up for her in a way which was very upsetting. No wonder this attitude of this "Christina" has not changed since coz it looks like the manager has been turning a blind eye on complains about her. Will definitely escalate this to a higher level.

Friendly staff, clean store. Music was a bit too loud for my taste. Not a great deal of choice for what I was looking for, only two models of exercise balls.
I still bought from them as to avoid buying from Amazon.

They seem to think only men golf. They have four stands for men's golf clothes, but none for women. Please add some diversity, perhaps something other than yoga pants for women.

Big thank you to Asia and Sean for helping with an exchange no other sportchek in Calgary knew how to do. Instead of turning me away or trying to take the easy way out they took the time to listen to my issue and found a solution. Very hard to find patient and understanding people like them in retail these days. Best customer service I've experienced in a long time.

Got a kids bike16”, not even two months breaks and training wheels are broken, doesn’t cover with the warranty, they don’t have the spares even, when asked they said warranty only for the metal parts which doesn’t need obviously, this is my 2 Nd kid’s bike from them, not worth for money at all, and check for all the parts whether it is fixed properly or not, no more bikes from sports check

Worst customer service. Rude and nasty behaviour of the store manager! Bought some stuff online due to COVID -19. There were anti-theft attachment to all of them which I was unable to remove. Moreover received my shoes in smaller size, I am new in Canada hence had to wear them to go outside and buy new ones as all Sports check shops were closed, which by the way hurt my foot very badly. Instead of making the situation any better, the manager started making counter accusations and they didn't even have the similar shoes to make any comparison. All I wanted was a bigger size but since it was not available, I had to ask for refund. But instead I was made to feel humiliated by the manager even after talking politely during the conversation. Just because I didn't have the shoe box with me, I was unable to receive the refund/exchange!

It's frustrating that even in these testing times, they are not helpful to the customers. I strongly condemn the inconvenient experience. I demand full refund for the shoes. And I hope some strict action is taken towards the store manager for his impolite behaviour.

Added a star due to the awesome customer service at the bike shop, the guy there was very knowledgeable and was able to help find the right bike for me. Unfortunately their staff at the register was dreadful to deal with, after the guy at the bike department helped me set up my order to be delivered to my house he told me to go to the front to pay. I provided my email to the lady at the front as it was connected to my order. She told me “There’s nothing in the cart with that email, sorry. ” Then looked at me blankly as if she did everything she could. No further help offered even when what I think was a manager was standing right next to her. So I walked out feeling like quite sad not being able to get the product I wanted. The bicycle I was looking to buy was $700 but I think my business will better off somewhere else. As someone who was in the customer service industry this was quite a let down, I wouldn’t let a customer leave without trying to do everything I could to help.

Went there this previous week. It was a mess in the store, I felt like I didn't know where to look. However, I shop here for convenience. Good store to go to if you don't want to be approached and need 0 help as they're too busy talking to eachother. The lady at the till didn't even say hi or acknowledge the fact that we were there - just began ringing items through which I thought was funny cause her tag said she was the "head cashier".

This is so frustrating. Going to this store because of the deal but ended up this promotion really doesn’t work that way. Buy1 get1 free. I expect 2items with same price or lower should come together and 1 is free right? But the thing that goes is they will collect all high prices and charge them all regular and let all items with are all low prices will be the free. That’s not right. What’s the purpose if having that deal if you will still charge all high price instead of matching 2 same price together. I’m so upset that I need to do multiple transaction just to make the deal right which is really not convenient. I saw a person before me complain the same matter and need to refund his money and do a multiple transaction just to make the deal work the way it is. I feel bad for the cashiers that needs to deal with this multiple transaction and having a line up.

I have attended and shopped at Sport Check since there existence. I have never had poor service from any of the staff since I have been shopping there but then again I have never had outstanding service to the point that I wanted to make it known before either. I went into the Sunridge location 3 times since the new store opened and all 3 times I was met with a kind greeting by all the staff but 1 staff member really stood out because every time I stopped by the same staff member would always come talk to me as I was walking around and each time had gone the extra mile in assisting me in finding what I was looking for. His willingness to make a point of making my experience special was surprising because these days it is difficult to find young people that understand the importance of customer service. The young mans name was Rees. If you are looking for advice in athletic wear and want the best service go see Rees and you won't be disappointed. Thank you Rees for bringing back old fashioned customer service I will be sending you all my friends. Have a great Christmas.

I came to this store for some advices on my ski gears (skis+boots). Usually if you need advice you go to some local shops where the staffs are more knowledgable about skis. But I bought both gears from sportchek so I gave it a try. I was lucky enough to meet Roland as he's one of the most experienced technicians I ever met. He took his time to explain what's wrong with my gears and gave valuable advice on looking for proper gears. Roland also took extra step to show me a very useful method when it comes to choosing right skis and boots. I can't show how much I appreciated for his help and I will definitely come shop at this store for all my gears. This guy DEFINITELY deserves a raise!

Still a mediocre place even after the renovation and location change within the mall. Very disappointed with the selections and undertrained staffing. Its expected to have the ability to attain more selection with a much larger space, yet nothing happened. Definitely one of the lacklustre Sport Cheks in the Calgary area.

Associate ordered an item for me, that was on sale, but online price was regular. Associate promised that once I receive my order he will refund the difference.
I went to store, Associate named Amanda K talked to me. Regardless what I need, she was not nice and told how can she believe me! I also work in retail industry, we have to deal with all kind of customers. But, still we should treat every claim or complaint nicely. I didn't go to this store to get treated rudely. Hopefully they can coach her better that how to deal with customers. When I called Manager, Nicole she was very Professional and nice.

No point going if you need anything like shoes that are not sitting out for self-serve. Staff dont bother coming around to help and even after asking at the front - no one bothered to walk back- left after a while of standing and just waiting.

Sunridge location is the WORST store Ive ever been into in my life! The Manager David is the rudest most arrogant, condescending piece of work I have ever spoken to in my entire life. My Son has a trust account and its being held by a public trustee. We were allowed to access some funds from this for bmx gear. Front staff didnt know how to do an invoice. Manager Dave just called and told me they WILL not accept a government public trustee check for the 800 we wanted to spend. Obviously I know we couldnt get the goods we put on lawaway until the check cleared. The worst experience shopping in my life.

Update. If you have any problems at this store, I suggest you call the customer service 1800 number. Very nice and so helpful. Dont deal with the lousy Manager, Dave at Sunridge!

No staff to help accommodate me when I was in the shoe section. I finally grabbed the insoles I needed hoping I chose the right ones.
Today I had a chance to speak with the manager Rona on this matter. Totally different experience. She went out of her way to accommodate me.

Phoned ahead of time to ask if they had a specific shirt in. They said they did. Drove 40 minutes to find out they never had the shirt. Talked to the manager. She just literally laughed at Me. The manager of the store should be fired as the worst customer service I've ever received in the biggest waste of my freaking time. I should also know that the lady put me on hold for 20 minutes and totally forgot that she did

I am in utter disbelief when someone showed racism towards my bf. He is half native. I was angry and very disappointed when they called 3 SECURITY GUARDS on him when he was trying to put clothes on!
He just finished work and his clothes were dirty and dusty (his job is doing heavy labor and construction). He went to this store and this lady (she was white and probably around 26, he could not remember the name) kept following him around and won't leave him alone. He usually shops at sportchek for his clothes because he goes to gym daily but this is the first time that this happened. I felt really bad for my bf and I am just angry. Please teach that lady some respect! He paid for his stuff and he left. He bought 3 items. The others were nice to him except for that specific person. She called 3 security guards and embarassed him in front of everyone when he did nothing wrong! He tried the clothes on and he paid for them. Just because he looks dirty doesn't mean he is a thief! She was rude and disrespectful! You can't treat a person like that! This is absurd!

Excellent customer service. The girl with scarf (forgets name sorry about that) was so nice and helping. She was working too hard to help me with the adidas pants which I needed. Finally she found it from the storethen for nike tracksuit again she went to back of the store and came with my size. I literally do not want to give anybody hard times at thier jobs but she was very happy to help me with all clothes.
