The service, once I got it, went smoothly. Thus 2 stars.
I was there to pick up skis from the pro shop but was told to wait in line behind a family of 3 who bought an entire set of skis, bindings, helmets etc, and I waited about 15 minutes. Then another customer walked up to another Pro Shop clerk to pick up his skates. He walked right in, got them, and left. He was white, and treated very pleasantly. I am not white. When I questioned that second clerk if I still had to wait behind that family of three, or can just pick up from him, he replied to me in an extremely condescending tone as if I was a second class citizen undeserving of respect… quite obviously differently… just makes you wonder why. I won’t be returning to this pro shop.

My husband and I went shopping on boxing day, busy day, and David helped us find some shoe sizes. He was super helpful, went above and beyond finding my size which initially the system showed none available for the style i wanted but then he checked online and found out there was actually one left so he went and found it. His attitude was great! I wish everyone had that energy when it comes to customer service. Keep it up David!

The person at the service dept/ski service is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Bought Burton Cartel X snow bindings for a great price and also a jacket. Helpful staff and great variety of stock at this location

Staff will ask you if they can help you, and they’ll help finding your product or answer your questions. The store is clean, tidy and spacious. I generally don’t like how the beanies are displayed, it’s hard to see what options there are, but this is not unique to this location. I never had to wait for long time for check out, even when there was a somewhat long line.

Update: after reaching out to the corporate customer service survey, I recieved a call from the General Manager of Sport Check Beacon Hill apologizing for the situation and interaction with his staff. When I went infor the store he was helpful and I was able to get a full refund for my purchase.

If zero was an option this is what I would give this location.

I came in to return an item that we had misplaced the reciept for and was told I could have them search for the reciept, but it was unlikely they would find it or I could take a gift card.

I said as long as it's the full price I'll just take the gift card. Aside from the fact that the female manager had an attitude problem I get back to the car to find she has given me a lower retail price. I was so mad I thought I better have another look and found the reciept while sitting in the parking lot.

She would not honor it and basically told me it was my problem.

DO NOT SHOP HERE!

Went to Sportchek beacon hill NW today, July 10 at 2pm to buy a bike for my son, we wanted him to sit on it so we know what size he should be, the guy behind the counter by the bikes yelled at us and said we cant try them on, he was so rude, he didn’t even offered help.how can you sell something if you have rude staff like him.

I went into this Sport Check today to buy shoes and the female employee with red hair was clearly annoyed that i needed help. So cold and miserable. So sorry to have bothered you! I went somewhere else.

Went here having a great day after having a good meal at edo Japan. Was going to buy a bunch of basketballs for my new minor league basketball team and got sold a credit card by this Indian guy who told me it was a great way to pay for my purchase. My minor basketball league didn’t take off and I got stuck with all these basketballs I bought. Now I’m 20 thousand dollars in debt and some dude with a Costco membership married my wife because I can’t pay bills anymore. Overall decent experience I guess.

We were interested in buying a snowboard. As per the website it said low in stock. Called the store just to double check. They said they have two and they can hold it for me. Drove there coming from south and they said they actually had the boards shipped. What’s the point of telling us they can hold it when they shipped it already?

Went to Sport chek about 2 weeks ago looking for a bike for me and my gf. Was assisted by a gentlemen who was nice enough to answer our questions however, unfortunately did not really knew much about the bikes. I looked around and found a Hawkrelak that would make a good first bike. The department manager Darren came to finalize the details and explain further about the Triangle rewards program. They were very persistent I sign up for this. I wasn't quite sure if I was making the right purchase, so I asked Darren for a few follow up questions on some other bikes they had and he nicely enough told me not to, "second guess my decision" and reaffirming me that I had made an excellent choice. I was told to sign up for the most basic card and wasn't made aware they CT has 3 different MasterCards. All cards have no annual fee however, you need an income qualifier to obtain their elite series. All cards also provide 11% additional cash back (to a max of $50) on your first purchase. I was told none of this. The elite card which has substantially better rewards requires a minimum $80k income threshold, which I comfortably meet. However, I think a bit of an assumption was made that I perhaps wouldn't qualify. Also, none of the staff knew that the maximum cash back on the first purchase is $50, not the 15% x $1100 I was told. Therefore, my cash back ended up being about half of what I was promised. I only learned of all this after I got my card, did a bunch of online research and called James at customer care to understand the differences between the different cards. When I got home that day, being an ecstatic customer, I started doing a bunch of research into the bike only to find one similar model that looked a bit different. It turns out a different location had it in stock. I went there the next day and they told me that it was the mens version of the same bike and that the previous sales rep had told me two women's bikes. So much for "don't second guess your decision. " I am ok with someone not being 100% brushed on a product but I would rather have them just admit it, so that I don't go making a bad purchase. Sadly enough, this location has little knowledge on the product and services offered (Master cards). However, the staff was still in fact, kind. The Silver lining was the cashier (for lack of better verbiage) Cassidy, who was very helpful both times; she was super helpful when we first bought the bikes and also when we came to claim the "15% cash back, " and therefore, the 3 stars. Just thought I would leave an honest review given how much back and forth, extra work, I needed to do to get my bikes.

We recently had an issue with a faulty pair of ASICS runners we bought and ASICS had asked us to seek a replacement pair at our local Sport Chek. What a great team: from the initial phone call to inquire (thanks, Mark!), the floor staff at the shoe section, cashier and Mark himself. They made the whole process painless and fast: pleasure to see such wonderful customer service.

Fitting rooms are locked, which is good to prevent theft, but always unattended. It’s always challenging to find an employee that available or around to unlock a room for you.

On Oct. 2 around 6: 30 pm, the lady who wore black shirt at the store was very rude and didn't have any intention to help at shoes section. What a shame how the store manages the staff

Staff was helpful, but some of the displays were a mess. I couldn't find the exact back brace size I wanted because things were all over the place in that area.

Went to drop off mine and my daughter's snowboards for just a hot wax. We had to wait for the world's slowest employee, I think his name was Dominique. This is Tuesday night at 7pm. We said we would pick up Saturday morning. After having us fill out the paper work, he flipped through the service book, that had 5 appointments each day. He said we couldn't pick up until Monday because his tech doesn't like to do too many boards in a day. Hahaha "your kidding, it's a hot wax, they take 10 minutes per board " I said. He was aerious. That is an absolute joke. I will never spend a dime at beacon Hill sport Chek again.

Decent location. I find Sportchek is all about the apparel now and it’s hard to find sports gear in stock.

Shelves are fully stocked. Only a couple of items displaced, but that's normal with stores like this. Cashiers were friendly, and offered me perks (such as a Triangle Card), so I could save money. Great place to shop!

A sports gear shop located in the Beacon Hills shopping complex. Shelves are very full and the prices are very fair. Staff can provide friendly and professional suggestions and help. Includes sport appeal and a variety of equipment at a good quality. Many great discounts and sales on their website or in store. Also includes sharpening and tuning services for winter sports. Many locations throughout Calgary.

Website said size available so specifically went there but they did not. That's fine, but then they couldn't even get the size in or order it online to have it delivered to your house like they say in their store! Frustrating!
