Kat, a cashier at Market Mall was very helpful today with an exchange and I really appreciate it!

I just endured 2 extremely bad experiences at Dycathalon, down the mall, where I was traumatized by the treatment of their staff towards myself and in front of my child, whom felt extremely uncomfortable by their behavior aswell. I IMMEDIATELY went to Sport Check and was treated with SUPERIOR SERVICE AND KNOWLEDGE by all employees! I would like to "THANK ALL SPORT CHECK, MARKET MALL EMPLOYEES" for being such wonderful people, keep on being you! XOXO

Customer service was bad, asked 2 people for their assistance and they didn’t help at all.

Nice store with lots of different departments. The kids/toddler section is getting bigger, which is nice to see

Frenado is a natural born hustle. My guy was helping find sizes for shoes for almost 7 different people, coming out of the back room with 6 to 7 boxes at a time. Answered all my questions even though he was absolutely slammed with customers. Really nice and helpful. Dude deserves a raise and a half.

I was greeted as I walked into the Market Mall Sport Chek. It wasn't that busy and there was great service in the footwear department. I was able to take a look at the shoes while the male sales associate checked up on me every 2-3 min. When I wanted to try the shoes on he reminded me that these are used for long walks or runs. Tried them on and paid and had the best experience ever. Maybe on a busier night try to have more people on the floor rather than 2.

All my life I lived judgment and racism free. For the first time in my life, I experienced genuine racism in your store by the store manager/assistance team. I walked into Sports Check at Market mall Calgary AB today with my 14-year-old brother and I will not be speaking on his behalf as my father will be handling his case. When we walked in at around 1ish pm I was searching for some shoes for my work. A young and respectful African American gentleman took his time bringing out and letting me try the shoes I was looking at. All of a sudden, the store manager (who I won't announce here) approached us and said that her management team allegedly caught us on camera stealing from them in the past and that they were going to "keep an eye on us". My immediate response was: "What are you talking about"? "I have never stolen a day in my life. " After continuous arguing back and forth and I continued looking at the shoes the young gentlemen brought out for me but decided not to buy them simply because I was so emotionally hurt and frustrated with what I just went through. Keep in mind, I had previously asked the store manager several times to show me the footage or bring the management team member who accused me over and let me have a chat with them but she would not allow it. She also said that the video recording was already "sent"? And they aren't able to locate it? After a few minutes of sitting down and talking to my brother about what just happened. I decided to confront her and ask her for her full name so I can report it. We had a conversation afterwards which my family and I will be reporting to the head office. I am out here making this review just to make people aware that racial profiling does exist in Canada. Or it could be your hair colour, you're piercings, or your pronouns these companies will not hesitate especially the store managers to approach you and make you feel unwelcome. Also, there will be a case coming up very soon and you should be ashamed of what you did. My brother and I can't stop thinking about it and it definitely ruined our day. Expect futhermore to come thank you.

An employee named Kurtis was so HELPFUL aa we searched for a new Jacket for our daughter. And it was a successful shopping experience with his help.

I was there today buying a couple of items. I asked a guy for help in shoes. He said he would go get someone in that dept. He came back and said they where to busy to come out from the back. I couldn't believe this. What great customer service. Thank you.

Came in this past Sunday for my kids hockey gear.service was great but Chase at the till was the showstopper. Really appreciate being able to get a good deal. Thanks bud.

The staff here is so friendly and attentive. I often go out of my way to go to this location even though there are others closer. Whatever management is doing they are doing it right!

I visited this store today to do an exchange because that was the only store had it in stock and they did give me the shoes I asked for but the box was damaged and there was a receipt inside it and the shoes was worn already it was a returned shoes I guess but I decided to return instead of exchange.

I usually go to sport chek for my families shoes. I don't usually go to the market mall location. I was extremely disappointed in the service. I approached an employee working there and asked her to for some help locating a specific pair of shoes. I was abruptly told "I don't work in shoes" I asked if she could call someone and with out any response of anything she got on her radio and sent someone over. The next employee came and I asked for the shoes. Annoying he said we don't have them and there is a vans store in the mall i might have better luck there. I dont recommend this location.
An update.spoke to the manager and told her what happened. She is giving me a discount.much appreciated.

I just bought a pair of shoes here, and I can't say enough good things about my experience. The salesman was friendly, personal, and knowledgeable about shoes. I look forward to the next time I have to but shoes from here

Wanted to buy a pair of shoes adidas superstar for my son. It was displayed on shelf for 85 but when I was going to pay they wanted to charge me 95. At the begining it was mentioned that was a different model but it looks exactly the same.then it was mentioned that it was because of a bigger size. If stores have advertised on the floor a price they should own it.neither the girl who brough to me mentioned a difference price.very poor customer service.never ever buy something there again.

Great experience buying hockey skates. They were able to order me in the correct size which showed up in 24 hours and then heated and molded them to my feet the next day. Great sale on skates at times and solid customer service.

Market Mall location is huge; can't believe i've never been here before. We also got a nice Family and Friends discount today.

Called to speak to the service shop and spoke with Gary who was a huge help. Appreciate that he took the time to talk to me and to figure out if he would be able to help me set up an old ski/binding combo with new boots. Fortunately i was able to bring the equipment in same day and get the service done promptly. I'll be back for tune ups and anything else I need.

Don’t come for skate sharpening if you’re short on time. Came when the store was dead quiet at lunch on a Thursday and was told it would take an hour. Came back to pick them up and they still weren’t done so I had to return in the evening. Very annoying.

Website showed item in stock at this location. 3 Staff members could not find the item with one of them (girl with very big eyelashes) just disappearing for over 15 min nowhere to be found. After walking around I finally located the item in swimming section while staff telling me they do not carry it. No point of paying premium prices in Sport Check if staff are not trained or willing to help. Makes more sense to order cheaper on Amazon or go to Decathlon. Cheaper and way better service.

Pretty good shop for sporting goods, but they have more selection of shoes on their website than in their stores.

Great customer service. They went out of their way to help fit and find indoor soccer shoes for my boy.

I want to acknowledge and say a very huge “thank you” to the person (s) who found and returned my wallet on Oct 11,2012 at Sport Check Market Mall. I was quite upset when I found I had lost my wallet. I don't know the name of employees who found my wallet, so I have no other way of thanking them except through this note. My sincerely and deepest thanks to Sport Check crew, and I only regret not being able to say that to whom found the wallet in person!

Got bike serviced. Only took 2 days and job well done. Service guy explained what he did and gave me some maintenance advice along with it.

The cashier Sophie has bad attitude. I didn't have my Canadian tire card, so she started giving me an attitude for using my phone number. She did not smile and was giving me death stares. Remember always be kind you don't know what someone is going through. Lastly, she forgot to remove the tag that beeps at the door on my jacket.

Super helpful young men in the shoe section, they really helped narrow down choices using their own knowledge of the different product lines as well as their personal experiences with them as well.
Very patient associates at the checkout too, despite how busy it was. Kudos to them.

We bought rollerblades and used them outside on regular sidewalk for 10 minutes before the break disintegrated. Called and asked to be refunded and the manager only offered a new break pad. The break pads are obviously faulty and a safety hazard, this is unacceptable to be selling risky rollerblades and then when a customer has a terrible experience the first time using them only to offer another bad break pad? Ridiculous.

Inflexible return policy, think twice before you buy online! They would not provide a refund one day after the return period!

Waited for over 15 minutes to get someone to get me the shoes I was looking for and finally I was told that they don’t have sizes 10-10 and half and 11. I’m sure they have but the guy didn’t want walk back and forth the bring it.

Assistant manager and manager really need training both in dealing with customers and knowing how things work for online orders.

They worked really hard to find my shoe size, it was on clearance so there wasn't much left but they kept looking and I was really happy to get a good deal!

Seriously, get the assistant manager or supervisor properly trained, the person on duty apparently doesn’t know a lot about sporting gears.

It's an OK store, meaning they have average end products in all sports as opposed to specialized store who carry higher end products but that are a lot more expensive.

Staff were very helpful. They were out of stock on one item, but we did an online order in the store.

Great sporting store. Went here to find skates. The guy helping me went out of his way to find the right skate, unfortunately they didn't have the right size. Definitely shop here again

Good selection of most items. Organized by brand so takes a while to find items. Staff is helpful.

Clean store with lots of space. Took my bike in for a quick warranty tune up, and Garry was very accommodating and helpful. Nice person to deal with.

Awesome customer service. To be very honest I wasn't expecting this level of service from Sports Check as I had always bad experience. Today's both the girls (I believe one if them is Rihanna) at checkout
and on floor went go above and beyond.

The customer service is great there. Fejiro really helped me find the shoes I was looking for, and all the leg/foot related problems I would get when running have disappeared. Thanks so much!

If you order something online be prepared to wait. They will eventually get around to filling the order. It just takes time. The staff was unhelpful as well. All in all bad experience. Won't be coming back to this store.
Update: On talking to the manager was able to get it taken care of. Not a pleasant experience but suitably resolved after quite a bit of hassle.

Great service with bike runs better everyone so nice will continue too shop there keep up the good work everyone

While waiting for my bike to be repaired I browsed around the store. When you are facing the bike area there is a area to the right of it (I think sports). Two guys that worked in that department (one with short hair and a beard and another guy with long hair) started following me around, harrassing me. They're lucky I was in a rush to get to work. I don't know what their problems were but they're complete idiots. We'll see what happens next time when I'm not in such a Rush.

This store has a lot of nothing useful and is full of staff who only glare at you. The change room attendant was especially moody. She didn't acknowledge me at all until she asked "how many items? " And didn't even smile or acknowledge when I said - and meant it - "thanks" with a smile. She didn't ask me how it went or offer to take the item from me, she was too busy talking to her long hairs brunette co-worker who spent her work time bad mouthing some boy who goes to their school.
The lack of professionalism will absolutely keep me from coming back to this location. As a personal trainer, I will not be sporting or recommending their clothing to my clients. Will go to Nike direct and Lululemon next time (the ones who care enough to actually give us a discount).

I went shopping for a sport bag today, I was looking around at all of the different options. But, I was being fallowed by an “undercover security gaurd” she was in my personal space and continued fallowing me around the store. I felt uncomfortable and judged. I wonder what is was about me that made her think I was going to steal. Just because I am a 16 year old male, shopping on my own automatically means thief?

This place is absolutely massive now. I didn’t realize they had done an expansion to this store and was really surprised to see how big it is now. Can’t imagine there is much they don’t have here now.

Went to purchase a pair of skates. Sam went above and beyond to find the skates I was looking for; also he was helping 3 people simultaneously. It was all very professional until I went to get them sharpened and pay for everything then it was mediocre at best. Place needs more Sams.

Totally the worst Sport Chek ever!
I checked the system, there was my size in-store.
Asked for size to one of staff, and she said she will call someone else. Waited 10 min in same spot. No one came.
Found another staff, she said, she will be back after help another customer. Waited another 10 min, Never came back.
Asked staff in fitting room, she’s not even trying to find at the back, she just told me “it’s in the box, I can’t take out. ”

What a wonderful staff you have!

I had a wonderful experience at this sportchek location. I went in looking for something rather specific and Faith was very helpful with showing me where the item was as well as showing me two other products that worked well with that item. After our encounter she did check in on me twice before I left. The clothing staff was lovely as well as my cashier (wish I got his name)

This is my life worst shopping experience. The stuff s are ok, but pore management! I suppose to pick up my board, but instead I stand there for 2.5hours to get my board, and another 40 mins to line up to check out! 3 and half hours waiting and standing on Thursday night after work. Hire more people if you don’t have enough stuff!

Evan was absolutely wonderful! He helped my fiancé pick out all the shoes he needed as well as some workout clothes and he was so helpful! Definitely coming back just because of him! Thanks Evan!

A bit below average but not terrible, 4/10

Typical stuff, nothing special. The staff is a hit or miss; either helpful or rude depends who you get. The store is a bit disorganized and slow but very nice.

Waiting in department for a while.no help left to find some asked for help.left come back said someone is come.waiting 5 mins no one came.product was near 100$ cheaper on amazon but tried to buy is for customer service. Amazon won this sale.

The best all round sports store in Calgary. I always get great deals here.
I mostly buy running clothes, board shorts, t-shirts and workout nutrition here. It is the equivalent to Dick's in California. They have ski gear, snowboard gear, seasonal sports stuff and some bike gear. Good shoe selection. But like I said, I get mostly beach gear and running gear here. Friendly helpful staff.

Renovation looks nice but service is.not as nice.

I called in asking if they had a pair of shoes at a certain size. The guy on the phone said yes, they had a few pairs left but when I asked if they could put it on hold for me he said no. That's fine, they have a few left so I'm thinking that if I get to the store soon it should be fine. I take transit to the mall, but when I get there the guy walks out from the back with no shoes. Surprise surprise, they didn't actually have the shoes I wanted, and they also didn't know who had picked up the phone and told me that they still had the shoe. Thanks!

The real kicker is, Sport Chek at Crossiron Mills had stock AND could put it on hold for me till the end of the next day!

I came in because my burton snowboard boots’ laces broke, and I wanted to see if sportchek could help me with the warranty. Not only did they lie to my face saying that burton doesn’t have a warranty on their “boa laces” when the laces were speed zone, and I had to pull up burton’s own website to prove otherwise, they told me there’s nothing they can do and I had to contact burton themselves. The whole exchange with the manager was extremely unpleasant, she came in with a rude and accusatory attitude. The next day I went to the source skate and snowboards where not only did they have replacement laces, but helped me lace it up without additional charge. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a bad experience with the customer service at sportchek. They consistently show their number one priority is to get you out the door the moment you give them your money, and make all warranty issues your own problem. Do not purchase anything from sport chek if you want any kind of help from them if anything goes wrong. Go to sporting life, the source boards, or MEC instead.
